Hey guys!
I've just got my Huawei Mediapad T1 8.0 8gb only wifi tablet and I was sorry to see that the newest official Android is 4.3, so I would like to install some custom ROM
I'm thinking about 5.1 but the newer the better. So far I found one or two.pages on google but they didn't look trustworthy, they had screenshots of phones, the articles referred to the device as phone, and I would.like to.avoid an scam or damage to my tablet. My question is do you think that there's some great newer android for my device?
Hello, Please take my cordinal loves. And give me the best solution which u know about it. So, lets start. I have a Huawei smartphone. Whose model number is CAM-L21, Provided in the whole world as Huawei Y6 II. Its another model is Honor 5A. Which is very similar as Y6 II. And If I compare both , thats seems like a TwinBaby
no difference. just provided as honor 5a, Y6II in different country. I had heard that, the Huawei Y6II (@BANGLADESH) won't get any Nougat 7 update. but I search in Google for it. but it showed that honor 5a is nougat upgradable.
then I fell shocked.
then I searched for a nougat custom rom for Y6II. bit alas I found nothing. then I searched for honor 5a custom rom, and I get a lot of roms for it.
NOW MY QUESTION IS= CAN I INSTALL THE CUSTOM ROM OF HONOR 5A IN MY HUAWEI Y6II. IS IT BE THE CAUSE OF BRICK? CAN MY DEVICE GET BRICK?
PLZ ANS.
THANK YOU GUYS.
Hi everybody.
I found this project, OpenKirin(openkirin.net), and I was wondering if these roms are compatible with Honor 10 (Honor View 10 is on the list, and Kirin 970 is supported, but I don't know if it's safe to install one of these in my Honor 10 device.

Its not compatible as Honor 10 has EMUI 8.1 where as those roms are based on EMUI 8.0. They have mentioned it in FAQ.
OMG, you are right, it is there! I didn't realize, sorry for the post
Hello,
Have any of you tried openkirin AOSP 10 Preview 2 for huawei p20 lite?
I want to update phone to android 10 but huawei doesn't support this phone for EMUI 10 and wanted to install a custom rom
Thanks
Hi everyone,
since Huawei apparently dropped support for the Honor 9 a while ago, I'm getting concerned of my phone being a security risk as the Android security patch is of july 2019.
As my 3-year-old phone is still working totally fine, I was checking out my options to flash a custom rom.
Unfortunately, I had no luck unlocking the bootloader with dc-unlocker as I was not able to get my phone detected. (I assume it's due to the fact that I'm running EMUI 9.1?)
What are my options here? Would a downgrade to EMUI 8 allow me to unlock the bootloader? Is such a downgrade even possible? Any other way?
And if an unlock would be feasible, are there any maintained custom roms such as lineage, openKirin or /e/?
Kind regards,
j
i have the same problem
the bluefrag security hole alone is a biggie...
as i understand it there are some (chinese?) channels where u can pay for an unlock code or something
OpenKirin would run once we get the bootloader unlocked
the community for this phone here on xda is really inactive i guess
one would have a better chance to look at chinese forums maybe?
Now really got bootloader code with test-point and flash board firmware. Then use HCU .
If you are looking to unlock the bootloader of your Hauwei device with kirin processors, look into the potatonv method. I hope that I have permission to link to github from here. This is not my work, so all acknowledgments and appreciation should go to the guy/lady who made this. Find the link to download the app (Windows only) below:
https://github.com/mashed-potatoes/PotatoNV
To be able to use this method you must be able to access your device hardware testpoint node and short it by hooking a metal pincer between it and a motherboard plate on your device.
Of course, this means that you must open the back cover of your device. Once the testpoint is exposed, short it and hold for some seconds, maybe even 20 or 30s. Then plug your device to your Windows computer and you will notice HUAWEI USB 1.0 driver getting installed. Once that is completed, you are good to go.
Simply launch the potatonv app and your hauwei device will be detected as a hauwei usb device, which is the target device. Choose your processor, your device shoul be among those listed below. Then click on START and wait for the process to complete.
Note that you require a Windows computer for this, with Windows 7 and above, with updated .NET framework. Be sure to check out the devices listed below to know if this method will work for you. However, if your device is not listed below, you may try any of the options of Kirin 65x (A) or (B) in the bootloader option as seen in the app. Also, if it is successful, save the unlock code that is shown, as this will become your unlock code if you ever need one in the future for whatever reason. For me, since that was to be the case, I chose my 16 digit number.
This method is known to work on the following devices:
Honor 5C / 7 Lite NEM Kirin 65x (A)
