LG Optimus L4 II - stuck power button - LG Optimus L3 II, L5 II, L7 II, L9 II

Good evening, my grandpa has been using his LG Optimus L4 ii E440 for about 4 years now and today something very unusual happened. We were in the car and his phone started vibrating in his pocket, out of nowhere. When he pulled it out, we noticed that it was bootlooping. I removed its battery and let it sit for a minute and put it back in, the phone powered on by itself, even though the power button wasn't pressed. This time the phone got to the LG splash screen with the sound and all, but it immediately turned off and restarted and showed some android guy and a loading bar, but a second later it rebooted again and showed the LG logo again. It kept doing that cycle for an hour. I removed the battery to prevent other damage, if any. When we got home, I took the phone apart and luckily didn't find any corrosion or something unusual on the board, though it did have some dust in between the casing and the screen which I carefully removed with isopropyl alcohol. I assembled the phone back and putting the battery in - the phone powered on by itself and it started bootlooping, again. Could this be a software related issue or is the phone dead after 7 years of well use? If useful, I did use the phone before he did and I dropped it in tap water once, but managed to removed the battery in time and dry it out and it was working for years after that.

[Q] Random turn offs.

Helpp!!!!!!!
Dropped my xperia mini and it got very slightly wet.
It didn't turn on when i tried.
I took out the battery, wiped it and put it back in.
Then it booted normally. After a while it shut down.
And it didn't turn on. Then I started charging it after about 15 min of not responding it turned on. It was charging till 20%. Then when i started using it for a bit turned off. Now waiting for it to turn on.
What should I do?
Should I get new phone with warranty?
Or is there solution?
Thanks in advance.
Had two incidents like this, the first incident shorted out my phone (just one second in the water), the second one I wiped dry, wrapped a piece of cloth around it and put it in a sack of rice to absorb the moisture (googled it).
Moral of the story: Never turn on a wet cellphone immediately (even after wiping it dry) lest you want a shorted out unit.
Dunno if doing the latter will make much difference seeing as you turned it on and charged the unit. If it is still under warranty you can try to have it fixed, just don't mention the water incident (though there is a possibility they might find out even after it's dried, dunno really)

Thanks my friends told me not to turn it on straight after i wiped it so am getting it fixed.

[Q] overheated phone putting out an odor

So my phone overheated with twrp- my phone did not like the version I updated to. I was using a replacement battery- non OEM. When I got my problems solved-I noticed a chemical odor coming from the phone when I pulled the battery and restarted after the initial overheat.
I went back to the OEM battery, got past my twrp problem, and was on a custom rom- Jedi-SofA. Weeks go by and yesterday my bluetooth refused to turn on. I restarted several times and no go. I thought it might be the update of the rom- build 4. When I got home the phone was hot and half the charge was gone in an hr or so. I pulled the battery, the same chemical smell was in the phone again. I restarted the phone and when I got back to it the bluetooth was now on. I could turn it on and off several times with no problems. So something was stuck and overheated my phone.
My question is What is that chemical smell being put out? Is the battery putting out gasses from overheating? It looks fine- no swelling, and it recharged fine and held the charge.
Any battery specialists out here? Thanks.
The chemical smell is most likely a component or solder point within the phone being heated beyond its limits.
I round recommend only OEM batteries, as applying too much voltage can fry things.

[Q] Rezound dead?

Hello!
Earlier tonight I received a text message and then my phone died - I knew the battery was nearly dead.
When I plugged it in, nothing happened - no orange LED like usual.
I let it sit for a while and still nothing.
Eventually I pulled the battery and put it back in and still won't power on.
Pulled the battery again (left it out), left the back cover off, and then plugged in the power.
After about 2 seconds the orange LED comes on for about 4 seconds and then turns off <---I've not seen any other posts mention this.
The phone will not boot still though - tried holding down power for 60 seconds, and even tried in conjunction with volume up and volume down.
The screen remains black, no vibration, no HTC logo .. nothing.
My wife has the same phone, so I put her battery in mine and it still will not boot.
My phone is NOT rooted or modified in any way (using stock VzW rom)
The screen is cracked but it's been that way for months and I've had an Otterbox on it ever since (go figure .. should have had one before it got broken). It's been working fine. It has not gotten wet today, or been sat on, or dropped or even looked at funny.
The phone is out of warranty and I do not have VzW accidental coverage.
Are there any more tricks to try, or should I go to the store tomorrow?
Thanks!
I am going to plug it into the computer and see if ADB will see it, but my assumption is no.
I'm thinking maybe the processor died... ???
I know if a PC processor dies then nothing happens when trying to boot .. no post beep or video.

Try charging the battery on your wifes phone then turning yours on and see if it works if the processors dead like you assume then well R.I.P Rezzy if you call verizon they will tell you to do a factory reset from the recovery maybe you could try that

Charged battery at 0% or 5% even when charged on another device. Cannot boot.

So I have an odd issue here... I have a tmobile v10 that suddenly stopped working. Can't boot up or anything anymore. Here's some events (not in order) that have happened. I dropped my phone about 6 months ago and cracked the screen. Was fine up until about a month ago. I pulled it out of my pocket one day and it was off. Thought I had accidentally turned it off while in my pocket, so I went to power it back on, but nothing. It wouldn't boot up at all. Thought my battery died so I plugged it in, but again, nothing. for the next couple of days I was able to randomly get it to power up and boot up to the main home screen. After a few seconds it would freeze and then shut off on it's on, sometimes rebooting automatically, but never making it passed the "LG" splash screen. Any who, before all this the phone ran fine, no issues. I didn't update anything or add any odd ball apps. I got it to show some life when plugging into the computer via the lg usb cable with the battery removed, but as soon as I threw the battery back in and try to reboot, nothing.
The other odd thing I noticed is that when I threw a charged battery in it, it would kill the life of the battery (verified by placing a charged battery in the dead v10 and then after trying to boot, removing and placing back in my good v10 and checking battery life). It would always say it was either 0% or 5% when I put it back in the good v10. The batteries will still charge on the good v10 so I don't think the batteries are bad (one is a brand new LG brand battery).
I'm leaning towards the prongs being shot on the battery connector that's on the motherboard, rather than the charging port. Anyone ever have this issue or even hear of it? I did some searching online but realized I didn't even know what to look up to find what I was looking for.
Any help will be greatly appreciated and thanks in advance.
Sorry for the story, just trying to give as much details as possible. I'm sure I forgot some stuff, but I'll edit/update as I remember them. Thanks.

Trouble with LG G5

I am not sure if this is the right place to ask but I have some serious issues with the phone. I bought a Sprint LG G5 for about 290$, quite a bargain I would say. I got the phone, and it seemed to be in working order. Then when I updated the phone, the G5 started to bootloop. After a couple hours the phone seemed to sort itself out. It was okay for a while, so I put in my ATT sim card (so I can use it as my main phone) and the phone did not recognize the sim card, which i realize now because sprint uses CDMA and ATT uses GSM. But after I took out the Sim card the phone started to freak out. It went through a bootloop phase again until it just shut off for a long time. I put it on the charger thinking the battery must be dead and let it sit overnight. The next day it didn't seem to turn on. No response at all, until I took out the battery a couple times and then presto it started to work.
The next day, the phone started acting funny again. It was freezing now and then and restarting. I took out the battery and i put it back in. It seemed to do okay there so I put it back on the charger since it was a bit low and went to go eat. After I came back, I found the phone dead. The phone was quite warm, and was just dead. Nothing turned on, tried the power button for 30 seconds and nothing. I tried hard resetting and nothing worked. I thought it was the battery but there is a charge since I put my tongue on it and i felt it tickle quite a bit. The phone gets warm on its own, which is weird since nothing comes out of the display, not even the LED works.
Anyone know whats wrong?
Sorry for the long post.
send it to repair or refund it. there could be so many things wrong like faulty hardware or software
