Custom rom requires root. Removing magisk removes root. If you installed magisk by flashing a patched boot image, try flashing it again.

Thanks

But it's optional

[HELP] Query related to Magisk

I'm having some questions regarding Magisk.
Q1. I'm running a Custom ROM, can I install Magisk?
Q2. Is it possible to use Safetynet without Magisk?
Q3. If Supersu is already installed, how can I completely remove it and replace it with Magisk?
Thanking you in advance.

*.Yeah. You can.
*.I think you won't be able to pass the safetynet on custom Roms without magisk
*.Simple, flash unsu : https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=63615067 via twrp, next flash latest magisk zip, reboot.

Thanks for your quick response. I followed your steps that you mentioned above. After flashing the SU Uninstaller do I need to do anything else? It asked me to flash boot.img which I didn't and the I went on flashing the latest Magisk zip. It was unsuccessful and some error "boot image already patched" is displayed.

Serious Trouble

I don't know what happened i was using my p 20 lite and magisk stopped working no other rooted apps was working so i thought to flash stock rom when i enter the fastboot mode there's only Written Phone Unlocked that's it. Before there was written FRP UNLOCKED but now that space is blank and my device is already unlocked. I also tried to restore backup from TWRP but it failed on 50% and when I rebooted it open the phone for 1 minute and it restart automatically.

I tried with HWOTA8 but stuck at bootloop
BUt my main problem is why frp isn't showing up?
I successfully flashed stock rom but the device keep restarting after every minute I select the language connect to wifi and then restart. I've flashed the same stock before it was working fine but now I don't know what happened I tried both ways HWOTA8 and flashing all files with fastboot but nothing happened. I guess the main reason is frp isn't showing up.

Which Magisk version are you having issues?
Try this:

Don't install the Magisk Manager, flash only the zip with TWRP, the Magisk Manager installed is the latest version.

How to root XIAOMI.EU's MIUI 10.1 (Note 3 Pro) ?

So, I recently flashed the xiaomi.eu's latest MIUI 10.1. My bootloader is unlocked and latest TWRP is installed. I googled around a bit, but can't really find any valid source for rooting. Would appreciate it if anyone would help me out.

Magisk is poular now. Magisk is far better. It doesnt modify system.
It is systemless root. It is best to pass security checks and working for banking apps.
Supersu modifies the system.

Guys
Download Miui update in zip file and flash via recovery.
It doesn't revert to stock recovery and keeps your twrp along with root intact.

i don't have custom recovery, my device back to stock recovery
i tried downgrade with mi flash and step by step from websites but error, tried flash from recovery but it changed, there are 3 options
- restart
- wipe data
- contact mi assistant
no option install update.zip, also from device and check software update, no option to choose install update
everything changed, stupid update, i don't feel any good change
i think developer will take long time to root new update and use custom recovery
no downgrade work, no one try

Why don't you try installing recovery using fastboot method and then flash magisk 20.1 zip through recovery.
Please check if bootloader is still unlocked before trying this.

Help with Pocophone F1 ROOT

I have a pocophone f1 which I attempted to root.
I already unlocked it using my MI account with MI unlocker on windows.
I installed TWRP 3.2, as well as SupersU.zip in TWRP.
I go and check root access using various root checker apps from playstore but i have no root access. One of them says that my supersu $Path does not contain a binary.
I tried uninstalling superSu using the supersSu uninstaller.zip in TWRP and then attempted flashing magisk, but i got the error about patched boot image. I wiped everything and then flashed stock global ROM for miui 11. Still i get the patched boot image when trying to flash magisk.
Any ideas?

Just uninstall SuperSU root and root again with magisk! There is unroot option in the SuperSU app which you have to use or:

@Silvershot
My POV: Noone needs to install TWRP to root phone's Android.

It's clear that something has gone very wrong. Instead of wasting time with troubleshooting, I recommend that you restore the phone to its original state via re-flashing its Stock ROM and when that's done retry to root its Android the proper way.
FYI: Once TWRP got installed on phone, you can't get rid off of it unless you re-flash phone's Stock ROM.

You don't have to disable encryption to use magisk. Atleast I think from my experience.
This is the step-by-step tutorial.
1. Flash this global stock miui with TWRP. https://c.mi.com/in/miuidownload/detail?device=1700355 (if this is not the official ROM please correct me, there are a lot of fakes there)
2. Flash Magisk with TWRP. Download and flash it from this github repo. DO NOT DOWNLOAD IT FROM ANYWHERE ELSE!
