Question Android Auto - Sony Xperia 1 III

Anyone got this working? My car doesn't pick the phone up at all, old xperia 1 first gen no problems. Nice to know whether I'm wasting my time before I start looking into it further.
Nick.

Working fine for me...first time as well

I came from a mark I and had a similar issue. You have to essentially setup Android auto in the vehicle for the new phone. It only links to one device at a time.

Bluetooth Profiles on Hero

Hi everybody.
I've read at a couple of places that the Hero does not include any sim / phonebook remote access profiles which means I cannot sync my contacts with my Parrot CK3100 car kit.
I'm wondering if anyone knows why HTC would have removed this profile from their build when it was working perfectly as part of the standard cupcake build.
And also whether it is likely that HTC will reinstate this profile through future updates?
Speculation or definite answers welcome!
I'm also having this problem, as well as getting the phone to automatically reconnect when the phone and handset find eachother. Any body any ideas?
Ask Google why they STILL haven't added a full BT stack. It's the same for both the HTC Dream and HTC Magic aswell. UNLESS you wander the way of the rooters ofcourse. Then you will be able to use all those nifty little tools only the rooters can use.
I think that Google is a little bit slow on this subject tbh. But then again I have no idea of what they prioritize either. Maybe they have a BT stack but they feel it has some serious security issues? ONLY Google knows. Well... a couple of XDA's hardcore hackers might know too... isn't Haykuro around somewhere?
I have rooted my phone (yesterday). Can anyone suggest any tools that may help with this? Appreciate any help anyone cab give!
no problems here
hello i have just got my hero and im still learning the in's and outs of the device as i have come from a WM device, but have loads of success so far.
I have a in car bluetooth system and i have no problems with connecting, and searching my sim card for contacts.
The problem i do have though is that it will not read my phone contacts just the sim.
Its not a big problem as i on a regular basis back up the phone memory to the sim anyway in case i have to switch phones.
Im not sure why you guys are having problems but im happy to help in anyway.
I haven't rooted my device as i see no reason to just yet its all stock, and runs like a dream.
I have a ford mondeo with the STD sony system in it if that helps, oh and it connects as soon as i get in the vehicle
I think I may have cracked this:
I stuck a random contact on my SIM card, the Parrot handsfree now finds all of the contacts on the phone, and automatically links to the phone when in proximity. Odd, but adding that contact seems to have unlocked remote sim access.
Give it a try!
same here ... added one contact onto my sim, then full access to contacts!
Works very well with the Land Rover Bluetooth PTI (designed by Nokia as it happens). Full contact list navigation on the stereo head unit.
I am having a similar issue with an in car BT head unit. I have a Pioneer DEH-P7100BT. I have had problems connecting the hero to this. It starts contacts download and stops at contact number 14 for some reason. I have tried to delete the 14th contact but still gets stuck at 14. I have all my contacts backed up on the sim as well.
It is also proving to be an issue automatically connecting to the head unit when I get into the car. I resolve that by switching the BT off and then on again, then it connects OK. Not ideal.
The wifey has an Iphone 3GS and that connects to the unit every single time. No connection issues at all.
The BT Audio option works a charm with both the Hero and the 3GS. I usually play Last FM and Imeem over 3G and stream via BT to the head unit, pretty cool over all, if only I could sort out the connection issues with the HERO.
I just got the hero a couple of days ago, and although I am loving it, I really cant stand the lag in absolutely everything. I am having problems even accepting calls sometimes as it realises I have just clicked the receive call button after 10 seconds or so.

Click to collapse
Mine does it the opposite way - reads the phone memory and not the sim memory. It's taken me 2 days to complete changing the profiles of people so far as I couldn't figure out why active sync wasn't working.

Non compatible with VIMOFIT, also in best buy stores on sept 25

Two things I'd like to get peoples thought on:
1. Vimofit is an excellent weight lifting tracking app for androidwear. Once taught your favorite lifts, it will recognize what lift you're doing just by your arm movements and count your reps... unique idea and works VERY well... for MOST android watches. Its currently in public beta and I've shot a few emails back and forth with the devs and he said "Google stopped reporting data for one of the sensors we use on Moto360 since 5.1.1". That was for gen 1 moto 360, so i asked if things were going to be different with gen 2 and he said that motorola was reporting it was not working and (this was my favorite part) i should get a different watch because there are lots of other options. Ha unfortunately my friend one buys apps for the device not a 300$ device for an app. I can't believe there isn't anything they can do about it.
2. There doesn't seem to be any definitive release date for this device. The only thing I heard was wind of sept 15 (which has come and gone). However a ray of hope was that on best buys site if you try and pickup it up in store, it shows availability on sept 15. I think that's pretty neat.
For the record, I got a 360S yesterday and VimoFit is working just fine with it. Only did a small set yesterday but it recognized crunches and back extensions just fine. I dare say better than it did on the Gen1.
Also of note, and quite amusingly, on the way to the gym Vimo was updated noting that they got around the 360 issue. So it's very possible the same fix works on the new 360 models just as well as the gen1.
[Solved] VimoFit Working on 360 2 (2015)
[solved] 360 2, 46mm standard, not sport, received on Friday, can not get Vimofit to work so far. Sent a data log Vimo and they report that there is no data from the sensors. They are going to try to obtain a 360 2 this week to fix the issue. Major kudos to VimoFit for there quick response time and willingness to do whats needed to get this sorted out.
Kept playing with it, and this is how I got it to work.
I turned on debugging through MotoConnect, nothing came up though, I downloaded SensorBox for Wear and for some reason it was the first app that wouldn't push to my phone, so i connected the Moto to my Wi-Fi, (first time) and that was the bridge needed to get the app to push. Opened SensorBox, and all the sensor showed positive information on the different planes an graphs. Opened VimoFit back up and was now able to detect exercises.
Things to test seperately since I can't go back, and can't turn wi-fi,
-Debugging, Turned mine off and it still works,
-Wi-Fi
-SensorBox
-Dumb Luck
For what it's worth, I know there's a bug of some sort in the new gen of Moto devices where the sensors stop sending data to applications. System functions like tilt-wake and wrist gestures seem to still work fine, but most applications stop getting data from them. If you use WatchMaker, load up a face with gyro effects. If the bug is hitting, the gyro effects won't work. I've noticed it hits some but not all applications, but WatchMaker and Vimo seem to both be affected when it does hit. If Vimo isn't registering anything, give your watch a reboot and it should be fine. Or just reboot when you walk out of the locker room and you should be good to go either way.
I went through like 4 42mm Gen2 360s and they all had this issue. I got a 46mm yesterday and I haven't seen the issue pop up yet. I just checked a little bit ago, and this happened now on my 46mm as well. When speaking to the dev, he said he saw this come up on Huawei too. So it seems to be fairly pervasive. Both 42mm and 46mm see to track movements like a super champ as long as they're getting the sensor data. The dev on Vimo is one of the best I've worked with. He's pleasant and open to talk to, and he's very responsive.
I am experiencing this issue as well. Will there be a permanent solution to this? Rebooting it at least once a day is getting annoying. Or should I return the watch?

Any stable ROM what takes updates?

Hi, this is my very first Note (#1) I was using in my car as dedicated GPS-dashcam since the Sim card reader broke years ago.
I just got one bluetooth OBD dongle for my car what needs updated-latest droid version to pair, and wondering now if I can still keep alive this old Note with a decent screen size and resolution.
Years ago somehow I load Padavan 6.2 and never thought about coding anymore so I need to educate myself again.
Can someone help me please with links to downloads and instructions whatever needed me to refresh this unit. I won't use it as a phone, only as a screen to diagnose my cars behaving so its pretty much the OS and bluetooth/wireless what shall be stable...
Thanks in advance

[mod] Wear OS on Fossil Q Explorist Gen 3 - Don't want Google

Hi all. First post here, but I have been reading a few thigs all over the place for some time and think this is a great place and resource, and every Android user should be directed this way. I'm not, however, a big fan of Google. I currently have an iPhone (don't hit me), but will be switching to an Android (as yet undecided which model, Sony XZ1C seems complicated for rooting due to DRM issues which I understand can be fixed now, OP 5T / 6) in the near future as the battery is not long for this world.
I got the above watch for Xmas, and I was wondering if there is a way of running it without the use of any Google services? A read around the wider web suggests that Asteroid OS can't be installed as it has no data out pins, but I have enabled developer options and there is an option to allow debugging over wifi. Can I therefore root the device over wifi and remove the need for the play store? There are a few standalone apps that would suffice for what I want to be able to use it for to be honest.
My biggest concern with rooting it over wifi is that it resets everything, loses the wifi connection and I then have no way to restabish the connection or send commands if it gets stuck somewhere. I think my wife might be a bit annoyed if I brick my Xmas present! I really do like this watch as well, a very nice looking watch that's a bit different to the offerings from the phone manufacturers.
Any thoughts on this greatly appreciated. Having looked around the web, I think I'll either be going for Sailfish or Lineage once I get an Android device.
Have a great day all and I'm looking forward to becoming more involved on these wider fora over the comings months.
All the watch and the OS is built around Google. This is not Android, WearOS communicates to the phone, tracks fitness, weather, manages battery and everything through Google Services.
And why would you remove them?
Sorry but even if you find the way to remove Google (by voiding warranty), the watch wouldn't work anymore as it should.
P.S. with WiFi debug you can only do debug, no root.

Motorola g8 power 2020 wifi issue

Hi All.
My first android phone was an HTC Magic, and in all these years I have never had such a nasty phone. From the first day the wifi has never wanted to work, as I move away from the router the connection drops, or disconnects, a shame. I bought the phone in Italy in December, on Monday I got the update to Android 11, the phone is overheating and furthermore working with the gesture is impossible, you know the swipe up to see all the application running..now it's impossible, the wifi always sucks.... I work and I can no longer write on the motorola forum to ask for explanations and receive meaningless answers, reset the phone, send me the logs, deactivate this one, try disabling this. Do you know an easy way to solve the problem? Also I noticed that with antutu benchmark my modem also supports 5ghz wifi? Why the hell they didn't they enable it? Sorry for the outburst but this is the first time I have such problems with a stupid phone.
