Hi all, basically i have been using the phone without any issues for the past two weeks ever since i have received it and it all went well except that i have received an over heating warning at some point which advised me that some of the apps will turn off ( before the update ). This evening I have tried restarting it and then as I picked it up, it was completly dead, no response at all from it even though I have tried to plug it in to charge it ? I had to press the volume up and power button for it to power up for some unknown reason ? The battery was at roughly about 20% before the restart. Somehow it all seems fine now, geekbench 5 brings up the same score as before but i am just puzzled of why would this happen ? The phone is stock, comes from o2 uk and it is on the latest software. Did anyone else come across this ?

Hi guys,
I’ve got a problem with my purchased Samsung Galaxy S2. I bought the phone already used (2 months) and the seller told me, that he had dropped it in the water. He told me, that it works, but the battery doesn’t really work.
And now the problem, the battery is fine but as soon as Android is fully loaded, it says that the battery is empty and the phone turns off approximately after 30 sec. It doesn’t matter if it’s connected to a computer or to the power supply. It always turns off.
I tried it with the battery of a friend of mine, but it was the same result.
I can start the CWM and flash whatever I want and it works fine, but as soon as Android starts the problem appears again. I tried original ROMs and Custom ROMs but it’s always the same problem.
Any ideas what the problem could be?
Hey guys.
I have a problem with my HTC EVO 3D. I've been using it for a year and everything was fine until yesterday. I was playing Real Racing 3 when my phone suddenly restarted and then turned off before I could enter my PIN code and didn't boot up. I thought that it might have overheated or it was some crash or something, I put the phone to charging and it easily turned on (I must mention, that there were about 70% battery left). I charged my phone and didin't use it whole afternoon. In the evening, I was trying to unlock my phone (with about 70% of battery) when suddenly the same happened again - the phone restarted and before entering PIN code turned off at all. After that I wasn't able to boot my phone.
I tried charging it with original HTC AC charger and also using my laptop and even a car charger, but nothing changes.
When the phone is not plugged in to charging, it doesn't show any signs of being alive. I tried pressing volume down/up/camera buttons + power on button, taking off the battery for about an hour, charging the phone for ~6 hours. Nothing works.
However, I realised that when I connect the phone to my laptop, there is a 'new device is connected' sound, but I am not able to access my memory card or do something else. Also, when the phone is charging, the red charging light is on, which after a few hours turns to green and after some more time disappears at all. When trying to turn on the device while it is charging the red light disappears as soon as the power button is released ant comes back after about 20 seconds.
Sorry for such long story and for my bad English. I am very disappointed. I still have a warranty, but I dont want to take the phone there, because the fixing lasts at least 2-3 weeks and also since I'm unable to boot my phone, there are a lot of my personal information in it, such as passwords, messages, bookmarks and so on, left.
So, is there anything I could do or should I take my phone to service?
P.S. The phone is not rooted and never was. Everything is original and up to date.

Perhaps try a new battery or take it in and have them try one. Sounds like a battery issue.
Sent from my SlimRom jb'd EVO 3D.

Thanks. I took it to service. I hope they'll repair it.
I finally got my HTC back a few days ago. They changed the motherboard and I had to buy a new battery since the old one was dead and warranty for it was only a year.
But I've faced several unexpected crashes during these few days. I think 3 or maybe 4 times when I took the phone after not using it for couple of hours and tried to unlock it, the phone didn't unlock and instead turned on. I really don't like this, because if my phone turns off whenever it wants, I may be unreachable
Does anyone knows what that means and what should I do if this keeps happening?

Yes, the soft has always been and is stock.
Then it must be a hardware issue. If your warranty has not expired, take it to the warranty service.

Well as I said I dont want to take it there because it takes about three weeks or more till I get back my phone.. It would be the third time in two months and it really annoys me.
Couldn't this be software issue? I mean I've been reading some similiar threads and I found out that some app might be killing the phone. So I did hard reset yesterday and after that installed only well known essential apps (Google services and some others) and after that the phone didin't crash for almost two days. Unfortunately, it did turned off a few minutes ago. I've installed only 8 Ball Pool and Smart Keyboard Pro recently, so I will try unninstalling them both and let's hope the phone won't crash again. Is there any ideas what else may I do in case it doesn't work?

Id recommend doing a factory reset on the phone and not installing any app for at least a week to confirm its not a hardware issue, but I strongly believe it is. If it fails youll have to take it to a sprint store and hope the clerk is in a good mood and give you a new phone the same day.
try a new battery
The battery is new, I had to buy it only a week ago, because the service stated that the old one was dead.
Really hope someone can help me here.
I rooted, and put CM10.2 on my phone a month or two ago (don't play that much with ROMs, etc), but fancied a change from stock.
Anyways, it's been fine (although battery life not quite as great as before, but hey ho), this evening just got a WhatsApp message, dropped the notification bar down, clicked on it to open Whats App, and the phone rebooted... And then continued to just reboot over and over after 2-3 seconds (showing the i9300 Samsung logo with the red ! in the top left).
Removing battery stops this obviously, but weirdly when I put the battery back in boots straight away, and continues to just loop like that. Holding power, home, vol up/down makes no difference (been playing with this for about an hour now, and searching other peoples solutions, someone said 5 times wait, and release). Just can't get anything other than this loop, just weird that I can't actually turn it off either.
Suggestions please?
Thanks Gunja
Booting as soon as battery is inserted indicates power button sorted out, try wiggling it or seek a repair.
Yes I believe thats the case, as I have actually got it into the "Accept different OS" mode, stays there for 2 seconds and reboots. Nothing seems physically weird about the power button.
It did the sudden die thing a few months back, and I returned it to Sammy UK and they fixed it (due to 2 year warranty) in 2 days. It's still under 2 years old, so will give them a call. Was rooted before, but didn't show the red ! in the left left. Hope that they don't mind that, as this does seem to genuinely be a physical hardware problem not software.
If you just hold the power button on the S3 when it's booted, just it just turn off eventually? How annoying, 2nd problem with it in the last 4-5 months, wonder if will get another sammy when upgrades due in a couple of months. Lets see how their support is again this time round!
My mi pad 4 turns off for no reason every 40-50 days with at least 30% battery .
Fast boot is not working. Last couple of times i tried holding & pressing random keys and eventually it came back to life.
This time i am not able to boot it up. Ive tried charging it for about 48h. Apparently its not charging either.
Does anyone have the same experience? What's wrong? What should i do about it?
Hi,
Like the mipad 1, i have the same problems with the 4..
Pressing power for 15 sec often work for me.
I recently bought one from aliexpress and i am faced with the same issue! D:
It turned on and i was able to set everything up but after about an hour the device dies (if left alone) or freezes if it happens while i'm using it and gets stuck is edl mode (computer recognizes it as a qualcomm device)
If the device freezes while i use it my pc can recognize it via ADB but says (offline) so i can not issue any commands.
the only way i'm able to get it to work is either let it sit for literally days, or let the battery drain to 0%.
I've tried re-flashing the original Chinese rom. No luck. same issue.
I've tried custom roms, issue still persists.
I'm currently messing around with it to see what it might be but i think that the retailer messed the device up when they installed their Global version on miui.
:/
I don't believe that it is the battery that is the issue because when i can get it back on w/o depleting the battery it is still at the same percentage.
Its a shame because it is a sexy device...well sexy paperweight.
I have the same issue and yes it is about 30% battery when it happens. To get it back to life I disconnect battery for a couple of seconds and it works fine for next month or two. Hope someone could find a cause of that and fix it.
I've changed battery and it seems to fix the problem. Last month before changing mipad started turning off few times a week. For now it seems ok,
Has someone suddenly turned off the Xperia 1 IV? Thank you
Not sure what you are asking??
My phone turned off automatically
It s normal? has happened to someone?
shouldn`t happen, from my 2 Xepria 1 IV`s I have had, I have never had this issue.
had mine since end of june, that never happened.
Agree cannot happen easily, but possible if the volume and power buttons were pressed together for few seconds or your phone had a processor failure that results in a reboot rather than a shutdown
...or maybe when you got the notification that you hadn't rebooted in a while and ignored the notification, it decided to shutdown to teach you a lesson - Sony Rulez! Just joking, no something must have gone wrong somewhere for that to happen.
This has happened to me once only.
I narrowed it down to overheating seeing as the most obvious answer.
Otherwise I've noticed some battery related irregularities like 10% but upon powering on I see 2x% battery.
(Or 13% battery remaining however it shuts down showing 4-5% and other times living to its full potential lmao).
My 1 IV got the problem yester day.
When I was watching TV on Chrome app , it suddenly turned off , I can't turn on by hold the power button or power + volume up/down .
Then I put the charger on the phone wake up again and the battery showing 28% , it was 36% before it turned off
i have had this issue on 2 Xperia 1 IV, first one i could return for exchange as it happened within 30 days
the replacement did not have issues until after about 2 months so I am stuck with it.
did anyone narrow down the issue or managed to get it repaired?
I spoke to sony repair centre and they told me if they cant find the issue as its random, they will just return it as it is.
Yeah min 12 times in the month. And yesterday I drove home used Android Car and was by a call. Suddenly the phone shuts down.
This is so poor from Sony. This phone is so annoying me.
On Saturday my mom bring me her old Samsung Note Phone.
I have enough oh this part of a **** phone.
Think about it! 1400€ and you got a peace of ****...
I am still waiting for a costum rom...
so.....almost a year now and never happened, just the usual "you didn't restart your phone for more than 28 days bla bla bla".....
