Shorting Test Points in LG D320N - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello guys, I want to short test points in LG D320N, I know where are the test points are (https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/lg-d320-l70-testpoint-location.3422105/), but I have no idea how to do it. Should I just took copper cable and short them? And should I do it with battery plugged or I should take out battery and plug in USB cable? Can someone tell me what should I do?
Thx.

I screwed up my xda I think -does anybody has a suggestion ?

Hello,
the folllowing thing happened to me :
- at a certain point i couldn't charge my xda anymore, and so the battery went down. no light appeared when connecting to the charger. and i couldn t start the xda anymore off course.
- i read the articles about the fuse which could be hit; and because i couldn't reach the spare fuse for the external battery, i simply soldered a solder bridge in the place of the fuse, as someone mentioned in another topic. i put everything together, but still, totally dead : no lights.
- now i don't know if this xda is totally lost or if i can do something about it. it could also be the charger which is broken. it doesn't get warm when i put it in the 'wall'. how can i check this ?
- if anybody has hints about what to do next or just trow the thing away, you could make my day ! many thanks in advance.
thomas.
You could try a usb sync charge cable, it maybe the battery has died completely also. Did you test the fuse before bridging the connection? Have you tried using the hard reset button, this is in the hole next to the headphone socket.
- i don't own such a cable, but maybe i can find it somewhere, as the qtek 1010 is not very widely spread in belgium, i could search over the internet instead of a shop.
- i did not test the fuse before removing it and soldering the bridge. which is probably quite stupid of me. the hard reset button didn't do anything and still doesn't.
- the battery could be dead also, but should'nt i see a light flashing when i insert my charger ? so my 'forecast' is that it could be a charger issue.
- maybe i could test it with someone elses charger here in belgium. i live in ghent, so if anyone is from near my place, i am willing tot travel to test your charger. i won't steal it, but then i can buy a new one over the internet.
if anybody has other testing methods for the charger, please let me know.
a simple question : should the charger get hot when plugged in ? because mine doesn't and i don't know if it ever did.
thanks for your answers ! and hoping to reanimate soon.
The charger would normally feel warm when plugged in.
err my charger's pretty cold actually...
Mine is too now that I checked but it gets warm while charging, my ipaq charger is warm when plugged in and not charging, any idea why this should be.
Can anybody help me with the following ?
i'm quite stuck in the thinking concerning the problem ...
is there anybody in europe who has a tech experience with the qtek 1010/xda and thinks he could arrange the problem i mentionned above ?
or is there anyone who knows such a person, because he had the same problem.
I want to let someone look at it, with, off course, a possible compensation in money. Is there anyone who could tell me how much this more or less could cost ? [because i am a student and use the phone mainly for testing purposes]
Thanks in advance !!! t.
Maybe a friend at college has a simple voltage tester you could use to test the charger output, the charger I have has a removable adaptor at the end of the lead, with this removed you are left with a simple barrel type connector which is very easy to test. If you cannot get a replacement charger and yours is faulty, send me a pm, and I will post one to you.
Anyone in europe who can repair my xda 1 ?
Hello,
i'm still stuck with a broken xda, as described above. Is there anyone in europe who has spare parts of the xda and is willing to repair this item ?
It would be great if anyone could help me. Please let me know what arrangments can be made. I am living in Belgium, Ghent.
thanks in advance.

Testing powersupplie
Hi!
I don't know if this could be helpfull, anyway: If you still think this is a charger-problem, then you could modify your cradle as described in the wiki. http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=WallabyCradleMod
And another thing as well. I noticed that the main charger is making a loud fuzzing sound when connected to power, so I guess that if your's silent and cold, it might be broken. (Which is not too problematic as it can be easily bought on eBay.)
What power-connectors do you use in Belgium? I have a spare-adapter that I'm not able to use as it does not fit in the Norwegian connectors...
Good luck with the phone!
Same Problem after plugging in my ipaq 3970 gps reciever
I got the Same Problem after plugging in my ipaq 3970 gps reciever, anyone got a clue where to go with this??
iPaq pinouts...
The pin-outs is not the same on the xda and the iPaq, so power in the wrong direction may have damaged the mainboard. And that would be differcult to repair I think!

screen broken, use logic board like raspberry pi?

Hi,
my screen of the archos g9 (1ghz, 8gb) is broken.
now i want to use the logic board like a raspberry pi.
i have bought a mini hdmi to hdmi cable.
i removed the battery, so do anyone know if it will work without the battery (by just plugging in the usb cable?)
which pins should i connect to let it boot?
Hopefully someone like scholbert can help me with this problem,
Nick

i have the same tablet as you and my battery still slowly discharges while plugged in if im actually using it. just a thought but maybe youll have to put the batteries back into the tablet
although thinking about it since your not using the screen at all it wont be drawing any power and from what little i know im pretty sure thats the most power hungry part of the machine.
Yeah, but I tried to boot without battery with no success
On some things you need to connect 2 pins to get it working

You can try... but i guess you'll need to tweak your Android system a little bit to make it work.
For example, i found out that Android refused to start up completely without the touchcontroller connected to the internal I2C bus.
Another thing might be the avtivation of HDMI.
Never tried it though.

No, plugging the USB cable is not enough. But you can power it up without batteries. There's no need to connect some pins directly, though it might be useful to similate the NTC. Read on to get it work.
As you know i use my A80S mainboard for experiments and i use a LDO to power the board instead of batteries. You'll need some soldering skills though!

As stated above this won't work.
Please see the attached pic.
I use a simple wiring with an LDO adjusted to 3.8..4.2V and connected this cicuit to the battery solder pads on the mainboard. Completely unsolder the battery wires first.
To avoid temperature warnings i soldered an additional 4K7 resistor at the NTC solder pads.
You may use any adjustable LDO which is capable to deliver at least about 1.5A max. current.
The example in the pic uses the LDO from Pandaboard.
It is adjusted at 4.2V, which is the approximate maximum value of a fully charged LiPo cell.
The datasheet could be found very easily in the web, to get further information.
Happy hacking!

thanks for your post, i was on holiday so i couldn't replay earlier.
seems like i am just going to connect an battery then
If i get some money i will try the way without the battery
i can't use the board for something else so this is a nice "hack" project for later
Big thanks

[Q] Charging with long cable

Can someone explain to me, why I use a long USB cable can not charge the phone while I was busy ben.Bij ics was not because he did just load.
i don't understand your question.. can you perhaps elaborate more on your situation that way we can also give you a more detailed solution?
EDIT:
If you mean: your cable is not working because it's not genuine, then i highly suggest you use the original Samsung cable.. as not to put your device at risk
I hope this helps

use only genuine cable bro
Use any non-cheapskate cable and it will work well.
All microUsb cables are genuine (since it's an open standard) but must ones are of doubtable quality and not capable of powering more than maybe 0.2Amp (the phone uses 1 Amp on wall charger)

[Q] Need some help with accu and soldering

Guys, the microUSB port on my 101 G9 got broken by an accident.
Looks like It needs a resoldering (and due to double-sided main board it gonna cost some serious $). I removed the port entirely as I dont need PC connectivity.
Is it possible to solder a usb cable directly to BAT-/BAT+ points on the board? Or do I need to connect it to microUSB soldering points to work properly?
//sry for my bad english - I'm from Russia and got hella tired today(
Hi Devl547,
first: Your english is perfect, no need to worry.

Don't attach the USB cable to the battery points on the mainboard. This will damage your mainboard and battery on long term.
Please look at the area around the broken MicroUSB port and search for a green colored component.
This is the fuse for the 5V comming from the port. You might easily find a soldering point in this area as well.
You should use this as the connection to your cable, nothing else!
If you are unsure, i'll post a picture.
Best regards,
scholbert
Thanks. Actually, I have already soldered a usb cable to microusb soldering points ( nightmare difficulty :3 ).
Looks like it works perfectly, but I think I'd better buy a new Archos tablet next month and use my old one indoor as a internet/video terminal.
Hi. Can you please upload a Picture from the Solder Points how i must solder the 4 wires from a USB Cable? Thank you very much!

Hi scholbert!
If you still read this, I'd really appreciate that picture as my micro usb socket came loose and currently I can't charge my Archos G9 101 Turbo.
Thanks,

I'm still using my Archos tablets, but i'll need to find my disassembled one to make a better picture i guess
Maybe you're able to locate the camera clip on your mainboard and remove it.
It is located near the micro USB slot...
See this post i made long ago (most informations are valid for the G9 101 as well):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=28542261&postcount=41
After you removed the clip you should be able identify the fuse as well.
It is a marked component with a "T" on top.
As told before this is the best place to solder some cable for external charger.

scholbert

[Q] touch unresponssive when charging or conected to pc
