Hello, I've been using 3 apps to take backup of my mobile.
"Swift backup" for-
Apps + App data(Root)
Call logs
Messages
"Easy contacts backup" for contacts
"Terabox" for photos,videos,files.
Can anyone build a single app with options to backup and restore all of the categories I've mentioned? Or, Is there any app that already exists to do that?
(Sorry for my bad English)

Hey all. I have a question. I have a friend that was recently testing out SMS backup and from what he is seeing, if a text message is deleted right after it is sent or received, he doesn't see the message and it doesn't appear to get backed up. I was curious if any of you guys have come across a better app that can backup in real-time so that the message can't be deleted before it can be backed up?
Just use go sms pro and use the backup and restore feature and uninstall if needed

Hello,
I have previously used Dell's backup facility to restore text messages after a new ROM install, but every time the texts are restored in reverse order, i.e. the most recently text is shown right at the top of the 'thread' rather than at the bottom.
This is annoying and something I want to avoid going forward, is there an alternative backup application that handles this better? Or perhaps I am doing something wrong?
Any help would be appreciated,
Cheers,
Tim
Search the Android market for "SMS Backup & Restore" by Ritesh Sahu, it does a good job.
Or (Also in the Market)
You could use GO SMS Pro (Which is Free) and it has a backup and restore function built into it.
I use Titanium, it will back everything up. I haven't tried the options listed above but they may be a better choice if you are just wanting to back up sms.
Use log2calendar it backs up as you go to you calendar

hi XDA as I decided that I want to do some badass stuff with my SK17, I'm looking for an apps to make a backup of my stuff, namely SMS and MMS messages and the apps I installed. I don't have root yet, so I thought it might be a little tricky.
regarding messages: I've looked on several SMS backup apps from the Play Store, but I read in description that they don't support MMS messages yet. then I found Txtract, which does, but sadly I can't see an "import" option in it.
regarding apps: I've already found FileExpert which can make backups of .apk files, but is there an app to also save the data related to the game (downloaded SD stuff, game progress, settings etc.)?

For apps titanium backup would be best, but without root, i dont know if it will save the data. Did you look into my backup pro, or even just for the msgs sms backup & restore?
Cheers,
Evil.
"Please note that this app does not support MMS (Picture/Audio/Video) messages." - SMS Backup & Restore.
I was reading on some forums that My Backup Pro doesn't export and import MMS messages, but I guess it was about some other version. thanks, I'll try it

I think it is because it give you the option to backup to their servers, but you need to be connected to sign up for it haha a little stupid I agree but yeah thats my best guess.
So, noticed that when I only "Backup all user apps" in TiBu, my text messages don't get saved. Understandable, as this is likely system data. I looked around in TiBu and found "Phone/Messaging Storage 4.0.4-91f513f88d (SMS/MMS/APN)." Am I correct to assume that this is my text message data? If so, is it cool to restore this, even if I flash a 4.2 ROM (I'm asking because the data has 4.0.4 in the title).
Thanks.
I would just use the Messages one in TiBu. It backs it up to an XML format which I think may be safer to restore than restoring system data for the phone/messaging storage .
I should also mention, I have never tested that option out though.

Thanks! I didn't even know that option existed before you mentioned it. It took me a second to find, but I got it. Good stuff.
I would highly recommend using another program, such as SMS Backup and Restore by Ritesh Sahu to make an extra backup as I have had timestamp issues with TiBu with large numbers of texts, it restores the conversations correctly but timestamps them as of the time of restore, not when message was sent or received so it looks like all conversations had their last message sent/received at the same time.

MyBackup Pro is the easiest backup for Android. Supporting the most content, and the most Android devices.
Backup (with schedule option) to our online secure servers(Cloud backup), or SD card, your Applications, Photos, Music, Videos, Contacts, Call log, Browser Bookmarks, SMS (text messages), MMS (message attachments), Calendar, System Settings, Home Screens (including shortcut positions), Alarms, Dictionary, Music Playlists, APNs, and more...
hello all
i have been using MyBackup Pro to backup and restore my SMS messages. But after restoring them, the stock sms app (slimsaber, rootbox, resurrection remix) always shows the restoration time as the time of the last message of each thread.
but only in the list view.
so when i open the sms app, i see all the threads with the different people, but they are unsorted because tge timestamp shows the restoration time.
when i open a thread, all messages show the correct time for sent and received.
MyBackup support claims that this should be fixed by the SMS app when opening the threads. the time should be reapplied and everything sorted correctly. this is, however, not the case.
does anybody know a fix or know an sms app that will correctly sort the messages again?
thank you all
alex

anybody?
Use the XML backup/restore feature in TiBu Pro.

Try the method MistahBungle suggests and it's work. Just restore from MyBackup Pro first, then backup data to XML and restore data to XML in Titanium Backup Pro. Timestamps on all threads are correct now.
i tried Titanium Backup.
But for some reason it always leaves between one and three threads unsorted. They have the time of restore.
But which is completely random. I have restored the sms/mms messages 8 times now and each time a different set of threads has the wron timestamp and is placed at the top of the list.
of course each time using the same backup.
i also tried two other backups and they had the same result.
is there a trick to it?
i deleted the db files. rebooted. restored. rebooted. opened sms app.
each restoring takes about 30min (15500 messages)
