Hi all, I dusted off my old lumia 800 and nothing works in the OS. I remember reading a long time ago there was a android mod you could flash onto it, but it’s been many years since and was wondering if anyone has heard anything about modding and custom flashing the old Lumias. Thanks in advance

I've been trying to find any new information beyond Nokia stating that their trying to update to allow ICS. Does anyone know if this has happened yet? It's the one feature that's holding me back.
Not yet, but it should happen "soon". I assume January 2012 update.
i think it is already in the software but nokia got to release a driver for this.
this should be in the Januar update maybe close to the release of the 900 Device
hi ppl iv searched the forum for help for my problem with no joy
iv just got a second hand nokia lumia 800
i reset every thing so it was like a new phone but iv no sound ? i can make calls but if someone calls or text me theres no sound (ringtone)
iv searched everywhere but no joy iv reset a few time still no joy

Hello people ! My name is Gabriel, and... as you can see, i'm a beginner.
I just got my Nokia Lumia 800, with the 7.5 update (7.10.8773.98). I had a hard time trying to learn what this phone can do, even now it just beats me, K.O.'s me. I saw the Bluetooth Sharing it's not available on 7.5, neither I can transfer contacts from phone to SIM. I searched all over the web to see if the new update ( 7.8 ) can help me in any way.
I kinda didn't liked what i saw. If I upgrade it to 7.8, my battery phone will literally die. I am using my phone a lot... I've got it Second-Hand, from a buddy. Never asked him if he Hard-Reset the phone or not. What i'm trying to ask you is... can this phone be fixed any way ?
How to fix the battery life problem if I update it ?
Will the Bluetooth Sharing app and the SIM transfer work ?

My (Vodafone UK) upgrade is due in August (2015) so i thought id try to make the most out of my current phone (HTC/M7)
Before trading it in i thought i'd see what else it can do before i 'retire it/pass it on' to someone else.
never really experimented much on Android devices but I've heard its actually really customisable and you can do loads of things like 'rooting' and installing different operating systems.
Also looking for a suitable replacement. stuck between HTC M9/SonyZ3/LG-G4
Any suggestions?

I recently bought a live demo unit of the galaxy s9+ fairly cheap but I have come to find out that the lack of the sim reader chip isn't the only difference of this device with the final phone. The LDU also doesn't get updates which I find a little bit disturbing so I came here to ask you knowledgeable folks if you could help me sort that out.
Can I install the stock rom and have my device working normally and getting updates? I know this won't magically make the sim reader work and I don't care about that, but on the other hand I don't want anything to break (camera or whatnot (I've seen complaints of things breaking when people install custom roms and that's a reason why I want to stay away from one atm)).
