Question Xperia 1 III Android 12 remaining charging time bug? - Sony Xperia 1 III

Hi All,
Just noticed a bug in the Xperia 1 III Android 12 (61.1.A.11.88 UK firmware) regarding the remaining charging time showed in the settings "Battery when using the charger, it almost always shows "23 minutes remaining", never showing more time, only less. I tested in two devices and they both showed the same behaviour. Anybody else facing the same bug?

[Q] Ray battery recently shortened and it has also started time travelling

I've got a bit of a problem with my Xperia Ray and despite hours of googling I still can't find a solution so I thought I'd see if you guys could help
Had it for about 6 months now and it worked great up until a couple of weeks ago when suddenly the battery life got way shorter, like I used to be able to get close to 3 days if I didn't do anything but sending messages and using some basic apps and even with pretty heavy use it still lasted well over a day.
Recently though it lasts under 20 hours with absolutely no usage, when I leave the phone overnight it loses about 40% charge when previously the use was under 10 for the same time period and even if its turned off it loses charge at a similar rate.
The other problem that started around the same time was that whenever the phone turns off from lack of charge or I take out the battery the date resets to 6 January 1980 and the phone seems unable to automatically correct it. Previously my phone was able to retain the date even after the battery had run down completly.
The only thing I can think of that changed before the problems started was that I used a solar powered usb charger for a few days because I was tramping but I have no idea what that could have gone wrong or how I could fix it.
I've tried a full factory reset, upgraded the android software to 4.0.4 and used various battery apps to try to find anything that might be using all my battery with no success.
Its driving me crazy so any help would be great.
Also here's a picture of a recent day of usage (not enough posts to embed it properly sorry), except for a short run I didn't use the phone for anything

Could be a lot of things. If the solar powered charger made your phone really hot while charging then the battery might be permanently damaged and you should try a different battery. It could also be that your power meter has gone wonky and this can be reset by charging the phone to 100% and then removing the battery and the usb cable from the phone for 10 minutes. Return the battery to the phone and charge it back up to 100%. Usually, when I experience something like this, it is some app that is draining the battery. Since you have just been trekking, maybe it is google maps. If it is tracking/updating you location, it will drain your battery really fast. You should be able to see this, just by going to system settings->battery. Stand by or Display are usually the big battery hogs.

justmpm you're always there to help i see
Thanks for the replys everyone!
I don't know anyone with a ray battery but I can buy a new one relatively cheap so I'll do that and see how it goes
I'll post results in a few days
Well I got a new battery yesterday as suggested and tried it out from full charge but unfortunately there was no change in the battery life, it still ran all the way down in less than 20 hours with minimal use
Begining to wonder if its a hardware fault within the phone itself

[Q] Instant battery drain to zero 0%, vertical cliff in battery graph

This irritating problem is becoming more frequent and is evading all my attempts to diagnose. I've seen plenty of other people on this forum and elsewhere with the same problem, but they're typically posting in threads specific to their handset. However, it is clearly happening on many different Android devices, so I'm hoping that this thread might become a central repository for evidence, ideas, results of experiments and ultimately a solution.
The problem: At seemingly-random points when not on charge, regardless of battery level, the device suddenly reports the battery level is 0% and shows the 'Power off/Shutting down' popup. Attempting to switch on again without first connecting a charger will result in a normal boot, followed by an immediate power-off, ostensibly because the system thinks the battery is empty, as you would expect.
The device boots up as normal after connecting a charger, and shows that the battery really was (apparently) at 0% and is now being charged. On a couple of occasions, I've seen the charge rate slow and then the battery level suddenly shoot up to 100% after the charge reaches roughly (100 minus whatever the charge was before the instant drop). Two screenshots of my battery history are attached to illustrate this. This seems to me to confirm the theory that this is a metering problem rather than the battery literally losing its charge in an instant (which, after all, is surely impossible, particularly from 80+% sometimes)
Please do not suggest I try 'Wipe battery stats' in recovery - it doesn't do anything useful, and here's why: (sorry, I can't post links yet, so copy & paste) plus.google.com/u/0/105051985738280261832/posts/FV3LVtdVxPT
This happens on three different devices in our household:
HTC Desire Bravo A8181 running dGB AOSP, almost 3 years old with original battery (problem has survived multiple ROMs and resets)
Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 running stock Gingerbread, never rooted, almost 3 years old with original battery
Samsung Galaxy Apollo GT-I5800 running stock Froyo, never rooted, about 18 months old with original battery
...as well as plenty of other Android devices I've seen online, as I mentioned, e.g. this tablet: plus.google.com/u/0/105053621791572600817/posts/H7XnguTq6uP
Is there a flaw in Android that might be causing a metering problem? Can you provide any insight that will move us closer to a solution?

Xperia P - Battery drain possible cause

I've found a probable cause for battery drain on Xperias, this case on the Xperia P.
I've had my Xperia P for some weeks now, and after the euphoria of using the phone for the first times i'm now making a stable use of it.
Without changing absolutely nothing on the phone, i noticed that the battery percentage dropped fast and suddently the Android SO was using more battery that the screen.
So i searched for running processes that were uncommon, and i've found one that is called Storage Capability that was using a lot of the CPU and keeping the device awake. Killed it and the phone returned to normal. A day has past and still it hasn't reappeared. So, it must be a one time thing.
Anyone experienced this?
What does this process do?

[Q] [HELP] Battery remains constant and drains to 0 rapidly

I am using XOLO Q100i mobile which i purchased two months back. Initially it was having android 4.2.2. Last week I got update for 4.4.2 and since then I am facing this battery problem where, the battery percentage remains constant for long period time and after that it rapidly drops to 0 and switches off.
I am facing this problem only after I had updated it to 4.4.2 (it was system update, i didn't do it manually)
One example case is, even after using browser with 3G internet for 30 mins, the battery remains at same percentage.
Yesterday I even did factory data reset but still this problem is persisting.
Any solution for this problem?.

Rapidly decreasing storage after overcharging

Hello all!
I had my Huawei MediaPad T3 10 from a month and half. Today for a second time I got a strange issue - around 300 MB disappeared after charging the tablet. I keep my eyes on every app installed - all are hibernated, with data and cache cleaned and usually the tablet is in Flying mode so battery to be saved. I dunno why so much space disappears all of a sudden after charging (at least for now both times are after charging). Any help?
Please, help! Happened again!
Did you find any solutions yet? Coz im having the same problem with my Huawei P9 lite.

Few time wiping cache helped but not every time. After the last EMUI update I noticed my apps become smaller (both personal and system), as if were compressed, and I got space on the tablet. When I lost space last time I saw their previous size return. So it might be some system issue too. By now for me must-do are two things - 1. I keep the tablet on until the battery went to 2% and it turns off by itself and 2. I charge it as it is turned off and don't turn it on until the battery is 100%.
