Question USB OTG on Oppo Find N/N2 - Oppo Find N

Has anyone successfuly accessed a USB drive connected to the Find N/N2 via its USB C port? The default file manager launches but does not show the drive. I've also tried installing other file managers that detect the USB drive but they show the drive as empty. I have tried formatting the USB drive to FAT32, NTFS, Exfat, but nothing works. The files are visible on Windows and my other Samsung phone but not on Oppo Find N2.

Fixed by re-enabling App Permission Monitoring in developer options

How to Enable OTG?

how do i enable the OTG mode on the Galaxy SII running android 4.0.4 (resurrection remix ICS 1.8 ROM) and i have a kernal that claims its working with OTG ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1574672&highlight=otg ) but when i connect my cable and usb stick ( tried other devices) nothing happens! any help would be much appreciated
I just acquired a 'micro-B USB OTG' cable myself (a cheap knock-off from eBay).
As far as USB drives are concerned, I have found that I must insert a USB thumb drive into the cable before inserting the cable into my GS2. Otherwise it will not be recognized.
When inserting the cable + thumb-drive I get these two messages:
"USB connector connected" immediately followed by
"USB Mass storage connected"
and I am able to use the USB drive.
I have successfully been able to connect a 1 GB Kingston DataTraveler II, but - oddly - not a 4GB Kingston DataTraveler. An unmarked 8GB USB drive was also recognized.
I have not been able to connect: a Microsoft Comfort Curve Keyboard 2000 v.1.0 (not that I need it, but just to see if it would); and neither an HP mouse. For previous versions of Android (before ICS) you can easily find information of users successfully connecting all sorts of things including keyboards, mice, and larger hard drives.
A few other important issues are:
- File format for drives must be FAT32
- Before removing the cable+drive, remember to unmount drives by opening the notification area and click on "USB mass storage connected".
that helped me out.....not what so ever.
what is OTG btw?
On-The-Go, lets you plug in USB devices like mice , keyboards, and usb sticks into your phone like a computer

Click to collapse
If the USB is partitioned as FAT32 a nifty notification will show and you can press that and then browse.
However, if the USB is partitioned as NTFS, you should open a file manager with root access (Root Explorer or ES File manager to name a few) and browse to /mnt/ntfs/ and you should see your files there.
Note: Am only assuming this is the mount point, since looking at the kernel you are using, he mentioned gokhan for the USB OTG and I am using his kernel (Siyah)

[Q] Settings for OTG cable?

I am on clean rom 4.5 and am unable to get an otg cable to work using a thumb drive. The phone never seems to recognize the thumb drive. It does not show up on astro or es file managers.
Are there settings you have to change to get the otg cable to work and if so where are the settings.
I can read the thumb drive on my computer so there is nothing wrong with it.
What file format is the usb drive? NTFS is not automatically supported. I don't know about clean rom, but if it is stock touchwiz based then plug in just the OTG cable, you should get a status bar message saying USB connector detected or something similar. If it doesn't then my bet is the OTG cable is not compatible. If it does, and it just doesnt detect your drive, then my money is on wrong file format or the drive requires more current than the OTG can supply.
Good Luck,
Jason

Need help in getting USB drive to work on the LG G5

Based on the compatibility list from Sandisk's website, the LG G5 supports Sandisk Ultra Dual USB Drive Type-C.
The link can be found here: kb.sandisk.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/17189
I will try to describe my problem clearly below.
I just bought a Sandisk Ultra Dual USB Drive Type-C 128GB. It work fine with my laptop when I use the usb A connector. My phone have the camplus module connected and I tried to connect the type c connector of the Ultra Dual USB Drive to my LG G5 and I realise the phone was unable to recognize it or even detect it. So after sometime I figure out that the problem is most likely the CamPlus so i swapped the module with the original phone connector (the components with speaker only). Now the LG G5 is able to detect the USB drive but it is quite intermittent and the USB Drive can get ejected randomly. I also downloaded the Sandisk Memory Zone App and the application was not able to detect the USB drive. I tried es file manager too but it is also unable to detect the flash drive. The only file manager that works is the build-in LG's file manager and as I mention previously the USB drive can get ejected randomly the build-in LG's file manager is only able to detect the USB drive when it is successfully mounted. On some lucky occasion when the USB drive is mounted successfully, I am able to see the thumbnail of the content inside the USB drive but I am unable to play any video from the USB drive.
I tried the Sandisk Ultra Dual USB Drive Type-C on my Zenfone 3 which also have a USB type c connector port. Initially, when I plugged in the USB drive into my Zenfone 3 said something about unrecognized format and suggest me to format it on the phone. I followed the onscreen instruction and format the USB drive, now the USB drive works flawlessly on my Zenfone 3.
Next, I tried to used the formatted USB drive on my LG G5 but the same issue that I encounter previously on the LG G5 still persist.
Does anyone have any idea is LG phone only able to recognize sd card instead of USB drive? Had anyone encountered my problem before and know the work around or perhaps anyone have some idea how to fix it? I am also not really sure why is the LG G5 only able to view the content the build-in LG's file manager. Thanks for reading this long post. Cheers!
P.S.The USB drive is formatted in exFAT format. The phone is also not root.

Trying to set up a DLNA server on my S3 - what file systems are usable?

I have a USB hdd connected through usb otg and it recognizes a drive is plugged in, but thinks it's empty / unusable. I think it's ext3 or 4. Which file systems can the S3 read? If I flash a custom ROM would it allow me to read other file systems? Thanks
The usb hdd needs to be fat32. Do not use windows own formatter as it is broken. Use an external app like easeus. A custom rom will allow other file systems but you might not be able to read them on a pc.
