Put this file http://www.megaupload.com/?d=RTEY0Q97 to the TOOLS folder of the SDK (they were taken out by Google in the R08 version for some reason and need to be put back).
You should see a serial number pop up, it’s the serial number of your phone. This means you are all set.

Is it enough to disable the usb modem and continue?

Friends ,please help me. my device is in big trouble. It was MIke's LX Kitkat ROM in phone.some days ago i installed LinkToSD and moved some apps to my memory card without partitioning it.After that i couldn't access my memory card on pc via mass storage or media transfer mode.Device is getting charged when connected to the PC(only if usb debugging is enabled) but PC even doesn't show any sign of a connected hardware .I tried using different cables tried in different PC but no use. Can't use flash tool since hardware is not detected by the computer.Thinking it was a ROM problem i switched to the Carbon ROM, but couldn't flash the kernel because of the connection problem. And now wifi is also stopped working. Some one please help me..(I don't remember if i turned on fastcharge option or not) but i can't see the option now just for checking wthr i enabled it or not).Help me

Try another computer or update with recovery. Or find a repair shop, it might be a hardware problem at the end.

Did you remove the battery for one minute before trying?
Also check http://www.flashtool.net/index.html instead of S1 Tool

Hello, I have a big problem with the phone. It's no turning on after trying to flash.
I can see it as MTK USB Port (ComX), but there is no way to flash it again because of "enable dram failed (4032)" in FlashTool.
How to fix it?

Remove the back cover and connect your phone with the pc through data cable and kept pressing the red button for 10 secs which is near the sd card slot and release it. It will vibrate and lit up after 2-3 secs then remove the cable and start it.

Hii d8v8n8 have you tried pressing the red button by plugging to pc ??
If you have a 4032 dram problem you need to format whole drive using sp flash tool and install a fresh stock rom.

Hi Manek88,
Yup, I pressed and pressed the red button, once even for a full minute without a break but to no avail.
However and fortunately from another poster, stympy, I got the suggestion that it might be a driver problem. For the unfortunate user, please click on the embedded links for the steps it took me to get things sorted out.
I wish sincerely for the wary who landed here to be able to solve his or her issue with our trials and errors posted here. Thank you all.
Club of anonymous brickers
Hi, I just wanted to leave a comment about how I unbricked my Chineese p780 4Gb. Maybe useful to somebody.
Flashed the wrong ROM, got the brick, the only sign of life was a red LED when connecting to USB. After the second flashing got the same DRAM_FAIL (4032) error. Finally, after finding the right ROM I got phone's screen blinking for a second, but still not loading and not functioning.
So, after some experiments I found out that fresh driver/tools versions do matter a lot and I managed to flash the same needed ROM with fresher tools.
Setup (can't post links, I downloaded these from lenovo-forums dot ru):
- driver SP_Flash_Tool_Driver_Auto_Installer_v1.1236.00
- SP_Flash_TOOLS v5.1352.01
- very nice light and functional ROM LiFe v0.7 with modified preloader
- alternative modem V51 S820
Good luck!

Ok. Waiting for feedback.
Was trying to go from GB 2.3.3 to OmniROM 4.4.4 on a friend’s S2 (GT I-9100).
I rooted using Framaroot (the first version, the latest wouldnt work), got root, checked with RootChecker. Then I tried to install CWM.
Spent hours trying, I wanted to do everything "on device" rather than use Heidal or ADB (use inux on my desktop), tried MobileOdin, but there was no "recovery" option, so tried ROM Manager using a guide ( http://luvis.se/tipstricks/root-and-install-kitkat-on-samsung-galaxy-s2-i9100-without-a-computer/ ), but kept failing cos of E signature verification, even though ROM Manager said it was installed.
I d spent hours and hours on the internet looking for how to install, seems its difficult because the device was GB.
So I tried MobileOdin again and just installed the "CWM-KitKatCompatible-i9100.zip" I downloaded from the above guide using the "install update.zip" option, I cancelled it when the warning came up about firmware can brick your device, but then hit "ok" (partly in frustration and partly cos I ve never bricked a device before as I m (USUALLY) always careful).
Now it just boots the the Samsung Galaxy S2 screen, then the screen goes blank after 10 seconds or so. Stupid, stupid me.
So can anyone help me recover it using ADB, Android Studio or maybe Heimdal or direct me to a guide on how to ? Everything I read uses Odin and assumes you can get into recovery. All that time trying to avoid connecting it to a pc and now I ve deffo got to.

Cant get into recovery but can get into download mode. Tried One-click Unbrick and it cant connect to device, which reminded me that when I connected it to my (Ubuntu) pc (before I bricked it) I got an error message saying it couldn’t mount Android device (I got rid of my S2 a couple of years ago but it always connected to my pc with no problems). Which seems to me like a real problem - how can I un-brick it if I cant connect via USB ?

First, I don't have any experience with ubuntu, so I would suggest connecting to a windows pc via usb, making sure you install the drivers for the s2, then download odin. Once you have odin setup, I would flash a stock rom .tar from sammobile.com. From there you can flash a kernel such as philz to gain root access, and then omni or other rom.

Heimdal on Ubuntu (or a Mac) will do the same job as Odin on Windows (and is more reliable), but I have this USB problem I mentioned above, so I m not sure anything is going to work if theres a problem with USB on the device (USB debugging was enabled). One-Click Unbrick cannot connect to it and nor can my pc.

Mate, the only thing I can suggest is make sure you have drivers for the phone(although the message saying can't mount device indicates a problem like corrupted partitions or nand, rather than missing drivers), and try a different pc. The fact you can get into download mode at least suggests you can flash a kernel or something, but you need a connection to the pc to do that(as you already know). I hope someone else has some other ideas

I wont need drivers as Linux has drivers built into it - it works out of the box, no messing around installing them like with Windows.
I just gotta spend some time getting the firmware and finding instructions on doing it with Heimdall, theres so many versions of the S2 it makes finding the right software complex.
And I ve just got to hope there isnt a problem with the usb port on the device or I m really buggered

dear friend can i find it somewhere to img not to zip file to burn it with Amlogic_USB_Burning_Tool? thank you anyway
FOR MECOOL M8S PLUS DVB T2/T
use this image file M8S_PLUS_S2_S905X2-V2.20200103_AndroidPC.zip with Amlogic_USB_Burning_Tool_v3.1.0. when you unzip it, you'll see an .img file. this ROM is for satellite. don't worry about it.The only reason you're going to use it is to be able to downgrade the firmware. follow the instructions on how to use the amlogic usb tool. when it's over, turn on the device and you're going to see the right software without a TV because it's a satellite. make a factory reset.put on a USB this software: M8S_PLUS-ota-V2.20200714.101012.zip. and upgrade through the device it will be returned to the original software. you'll need a toothpick, a usb male to male cable, and a pc. it is important that the amlogic_USB_Burning Tool detects your device. follow the instructions on the lower right side of the program. uninstall all previous versions of amlogic usb burning tool. good luck

And does anybody have any newer firmware than V2.-original but that works 100%. I see that this BETA is V9, so some version like V7 or V8. I have problem with DTV app it's stutter and frezze so I figure that newer firmware may resolve this issue.

And does anybody have any newer firmware than V2.-original but that works 100%. I see that this BETA is V9, so some version like V7 or V8. I have problem with DTV app it's stutter and frezze so I figure that newer firmware may resolve this issue.

I have attached 3 files which are for windows 10 x64. It's absolutely certain that they work perfectly. I also wrote that you need a USB cable and a toothpick. On the back of the M8S Plus there's a hole that says AV. You have to push the toothpick in, until you hear a click. This is the reset Button. Practice until you're familiar with it. Go to the control panel of the pc and remove any drivers have installed. Then re-install what I've attached. when the installation is finished you should have in the control panel these two.

libwdi(winusb)usbdevice 904/03/2019 6.1.7600.16382)
Run Aml_Burn_Tool, and keep it open
Connect one end of the usb to the pc.
Put the toothpick in the AV hole and as soon as you hear click hold it down. Connect the other end of the usb to the M8s plus. Do not connect the power supply. Do not release the toothpick until Aml_Burn_Tool recognizes M8s plus. Follow the instructions of program.
My language is Greek. I hope you understand ,because I translate them with Microsoft translator.
Good luck

I did it, problem was in using USB 3.0 ports, when i switched to USB 2.0 both on PC and M8S it worked perfectly. But I still have a problem with DTV app, when I watch Tv it's stutter and frezze. Is there an option to install some other app. That Live Tv on new firmware was working OK but everything else was not OK.
