When I run Cestos 2 I get the following message:
'Cestos 2 require OpenFeint to run. This lets you use your account on multiple phones, or recover your account if you switch phones.'
Then I can choose 'Enable OpenFeint' or 'Quit'.
When I choose 'Enable OpenFeint' it says 'Feint couldn't initialize, would you like to send a crash report'
I figured this means I need to install the OpenFeint on my phone, but when I search the market the only OpenFeint app I can find is the Feint Game Spotlight.
Has anyone else had this issue? I know there has been an instance in the past where a certain app wouldn't show up in a market search on the Vibrant. I wonder if this is happening with OpenFeint...
Yea am facing the same issue.
I don't think its got anything to do with a problem with your market search.
It's probably just not able to connect.
I've been told you can spoof the market in to thinking you have something else and then can download other apps and games. Which phone or tablet do you want the market to think you have?
What are some apps and games you'll be able to get that you couldn't normally get?
Last, instead of editing the build.prop file, could you just find the. Apk file somewhere other than the market?
you can see this

We want to try and spoof a device that is well known on the market with as close to the same hardware as possible to get a more real experience with the market. Nexus S is a popular one, and so is Droid 3.

A lot more Gameloft apps show up in particular, and other smaller developers. There are still major ones that don't show up, such as Facebook

You could, but you would have to update with another .apk you search for, where as the Market would update it automatically. There is also the opportunity for malware and bad code to be put on your device.
I want to buy an application from the Google Play. But I have downloaded the application on my phone illegally (cracked). Now it shows that I Have already purchased the application. And I can't buy it or download. Deleting the application didnt help. Can anybody suggest me what to do so that I am able to buy it and download legally.

You can't do anything about it. Since Google now uses the method of linking all apps ever downloaded on your device to your account, it will always be shown as "purchased". You'll have to use a different account.
When i do a fb search on market nothing comes up relative and when i use the browser its aggravating cause while i type it keeps updating on the browser and i have to go back cause it interupts while i type.
I myself use a chrome extension that allows downloading of free APKs from the market place even if you're not considered to be compatible and thus, I use Facebook.
It requires a computer and Chrome, search Google for "APK download extension for chrome" and the only issue is that to use it, you need to ignore invalid certificates. I setup a separate shortcut in Windows to load chrome with the proper command line and to load Google Play right off too.
Have you tried apktop? it's a website and you can get the apk files for the free apps on the market. So instead of using the chrome extension (which i believe was discontinued by the dev because it violated something with google) you can use that website.
or you could edit your build.prop and chance the device name to that of one of a phone and have all the apps show up for you then change it back when your done
Just out of curiosity, how difficult might it be to create an app that can change build property file on the fly, so to speak?
Sent from my rooted NOOK Tablet running 1.40+
I have tried to change the build prop on mine but could never get the market to list Facebook and some other apps in it.
My "Google Play Store" is not working, it keeps jumping out of the screen every time i try to access it. It's really annoyed, i have tried many methods on the Internet but none of them worked, i think probably my Android version was too isoleted that no app could manage to carry on the task demanded.
Some technology advisers ask me to have a look on third-party websites which resembles to Google Play Store, allows user to download the app using the modification of APK files. I did and it worked.
But i get confused ever since i only knew how to follow the instruction, i have no idea what they are? Do they cause any harm to my Android device? Is there any chance of getting virus attack?
