Question S23 ultra sm-S918B april update Kazakstan skz - Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra

Hello, please help. We have not received a sm-S918B april software update for Kazakhstan. I am tired of waiting. May be somebody knows about the release date of the update, or may be there is an alternative way of firmware update?
Thank you in advance.
Igor.

Nothing can be done until it is ready and then released for your country/network provider. Try using Smart Switch on pc.

Thank you very much. I will wait. I am at hospital now and have no possibility to use Smart Switch on pc. Almost all countries have received the update and some started receiving new one. We are as usual far behind.

The only option is to download any OXM CSC ROM via frija and install the ROM via Odin using Home CSC so that you don't format the device. I'm assuming SKZ is part of the OXM build.

[Q] Android 4.1 Meteor Ireland

Anyone any idea when 4.1 will be coming to Meteor Ireland?????
I can't connect Kies and it won't run on any of my PC's so I will have to do OTA update.
I keep going into SETTINGS / ABOUT DEVICE / SOFTWARE UPDATE but all I'm getting is "No updates Available"
I don't want to install a custom rom and do it that way, I want to keep my phone as is. I like it that way.
Just wait.

if your carrier brands the firmware then you have a long wait probably....and just bear in mind only Poland has had jelly bean update so far.....so join the queue!

I thought Poland was first and it had already started to roll out across Europe. Guess I'll just have to wait.
Chance's are it will be November before we get it.
You'll be lucky to have any branded firmware before the new year.
I don't even think the note has ics yet does it?

Meteor haven't updated the firmware once as far as I can tell. You'd be better to switch to BTU (though that doesn't have JB yet either but it will have it much sooner than MET will). BTU is the official unbranded firmware for the UK and Ireland and so has all the necessary APNs etc. for all UK and IE networks.

Download it with CheckFUS (guides available for that) and flash it with Odin (guides for that too).
But you might be able to just switch the CSC on the phone if it comes with BTU (don't know if it does).
Enter *#272*[your IMEI here]# and a list will come up of CSCs. If BTU is there just select it and push OK, and all your phone will update as a generic device (i.e. quickly).
However, beware that changing CSC will wipe all your data.

What a pitty.
Thankfully Meteor doesn't do anything with the ROM like the others here only the csc is MET. Jet turn off the debugging mode and the kies will see the phone i had the same issue and it is ok now.

[Q] Xperia Tablet Z2 (SGP512) - Still no 4.4.4 Update

All -
Is it just me or is the 4.4.4 Update still not available for USA Z2 Tablets? I got the update on my Z2 phone a while back but no go on the tablet. I have the SGP512 Firmware and I get the fated "Your device already has the latest available system updates" when I try the Update Center.
I have also tried connecting my tablet to a PC but still no luck. I thought these updates came out a month ago? Anyone else experiencing this or am I missing something? I have seen a few dated threads on this subject but no conclusive update as to whether this update has finally been rolled out for the US Z2 tablets.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
No One?
So everyone has 4.4.4 ?
I still havent seen it. Bought the tablet for the remote play feature and over a month with no word. No response when I ask Sony. I love the company but very disappointed in them now.
You can check your region/carrier with XperiFirm
http://forum.xda-developers.com/cro...xperifirm-xperia-firmware-downloader-t2834142
Looks like North America is still on 17.1.2.A.0.314...
If there is no update for your device on specific region and you want to update to latest firmware you can just use other region ftf-file for your device and flash it via Flashtool. Differences are more or less in bloatware that come with firmware. Also it´s reported that because only difference between SGP511 and SGP512 is memory size also SGP511 firmwares work fine with SGP512 device.
Ah thanks..

I had an update for my SGP512 to 23.0.1.A.4.30 this morning, here living in DE
By th way you can force download an update image using Flashtool. A simple guide is available here:
http://www.xperiablog.net/2014/09/01/flashtool-version-0-9-18-1-allows-you-to-download-xperia-firmware-files/
I'm in Canada and I got the 23.0.1.a.4.30 notification last night. I'm updating through PC companion right now. I'm completely stock.
It seems I was not the only one to get it in North America: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=57232943&postcount=80
I live in US and got notification that I had a download available on the 5th. I just upgraded via update on tablet this morning with no issues. Also, I was rooted but not unlocked and was able to keep root (SuperSU Survival Mode)

S9+ XSG MODEL (UAE) won't receive pie update

I have had this update right after turning it on for the first time, but since I insert my local sim card, it forces me to factory reset it.
Since then no update.
I contacted Samsung & they say: "you must insert a UAE sim card which is activate and working, then factory reset the device to register it back to it's original
software provider. otherwise - no pie for you.
I am not in the UAE and have no way to get such a sim card.
Just factory reset won't help much.
Any help ?

Galaxy S10 Lite UAE (XSG) model in USA - Stuck on Jan 2020 Security Patch

Hi,
As stated in the thread title, I have a Galaxy S10 Lite UAE model I bought from eBay to use in USA, and I am stuck on Jan 2020 Security Patch.
What would be the best course of action to assure I get OTA updates on this phone?
The CSC code is XSG/XSG,XSG/XSG
Thanks!
Kind Regards!
Unfortunately, what you said all right but there's one solution to do.
YOU HAVE TO DO MANUAL (Europe firmware) FLASH WITH ODIN (Google for method)
Firmware: https://samfrew.com/download/Galaxy__S10__Lite__/6v9y/PHE/G770FXXU2BTD2/G770FOXM2BTD2/
PS: SCROLLING DOWN FOR ODIN AND SAMSUNG DRIVER
I have installed the firmware, it seems to be working. PHE is the CSC.
Any idea if OTA updates will work from here on out?

Question Bought 8GB device from Online Marketplace (Taiwan CSC) - Seeking advice

Hi all,
I ended up getting a phone from a foreign region (Taiwan - I live in the UK), since I couldn't find the 8gb version from a UK seller.
The phone came with the tamper seals broken
https://imgur.com/a/pSd9yoZ
and seemingly had a screen protector on it (I don't know if it was the factory film, but it seemed too hardy to be that).
https://www.onbuy.com/gb/unlocked-a...s-5g-dual-sim-256gb-8gb-ram~c12871~p52964453/
The phone is listed as Unlocked and New.
It seems that the seller sold a used device as new? Or would they have had to unpack the device to network unlock it?
I installed https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.joeykrim.rootcheck&gl=GB which gives a "Sorry! Root access is not propertly installed on this device." message.
Also, booting the phone in download mode gives the line: "WARRANTY VOID : 0x0", so it seems Knox hasn't been tripped.
Does this mean the phone is safe to use without fear of malware?
Will things like Samsung pay work if the phone is from a different region (with Knox still intact)?
Should I flash a fresh stock ROM? (I've never done this before)
If so, would it have to be a Taiwanese one? (with matching CSC region)
Thanks!
Arobase40 said:
The tamper seals broken is normal if the seller added a film protection...
I have no experience with phones from Taiwan, but I bought my Galaxy Note9 with 512 GB storage to a dealer from Hong-Kong but the Note9 came from an Australian carrier (unlocked though)... lol
I flashed a XEF French firmware and all is fine till now.
No need to flash a firmware from Taiwan as you can use any firmware you wish so if any malware it should be erase, and don't forget to use the normal CSC and not the HOME_CSC, so it will switch the Taïwan CSC to your UK CSC...
You can also remove most bloatwares with adb commands without being root.
But be aware Samsung Pay doesn't work in every countries of the world, so be sure it is working in your country.
Push the Thank button if my post was useful to you

Ok. But will this break Knox? Will it disable features like Samsung Pay?
How will updates be affected?
edit: the 256gb/8gb RAM model doesn't exist in the EU/UK. So if I use a UK firmware, can this cause errors? (UK has only 128GB/6GB RAM).
If you still feel insecure you can keep the Taẅan firmware but you will be on your own... ^^

Arobase40 said:
Since this is original and genuine firmware from Samsung, there should be not problem and no issue at all.
As I said if Samsung Pay is working in the UK, there should also be no problem !
Just use PC Odin which is also an official tool used in the official Samsung Repair centers.
As far I know Taïwan receives International firmwares.
There was also no Galaxy Note9 with 512GB storage in France and I never encounter any trouble with Samsung firmwares.
If you still feel insecure you can keep the Taẅan firmware but you will be on your own... ^^

Sammobile is a trusted place to download firmware, however they have a speed cap for non premium users.
I would suggest you to use Frija which can be found here https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/tool-frija-samsung-firmware-downloader-checker.3910594/

I will. I will wait to see if the seller can explain why the box was not sealed. If I do not get a reply in few days I will try flash the UK unlocked firmware (CSC: BTU). This is the correct firmware for UK (unlocked), yes?
Arobase40 said:
There are different CSC for your country but BTU should be fine with UK carrier free phone.
I don't think you should waist your time with the seal as obviously this is due to the screen protection and as "WARRANTY VOID : 0x0", but do as you wish...
Other clues to know if there were an attempt to root this phone : from the Download mode you should see :
- CURRENT BINARY : Samsung Official
- OEM LOCK : ON
- WARRANTY VOID : 0x0
Then all is fine !
But if you have :
- CURRENT BINARY : "Custom (0xxxx)
- OEM LOCK : OFF (U)
- WARRANTY VOID : 0x1
Then you are in trouble...
BTW can you confirm the actual CSC ?

I have all that in Download mode - so there has been no root access?
The CSC is A528BBRI1AUL2 which appears to be the 1 December 21 security update (I installed this because I thought it would be safer to connect to WiFi with the latest version).
Edit: what can happen if I keep the Taiwan CSC? You said can be problems with my phone call plan??
Arobase40 said:

A528BBRI1AUL2 : is NOT the CSC. It should be 3 Letters or 2 letters with a number as BTU is the UK CSC...
Should be in the "Carrier software version" or something like that as I don't have an English firmware version.
About keeping Taiwan CSC, I said could be problem with your phone call plan as your actual UK carrier may think you are calling from Taïwan and may charge you extra fees... lol
This is just a hypothesis, a guess...

You shouldn't be too worried about switching firmware, as long as you're doing it the right way. There might be one or two small things you'll need to set when you switch firmwares due to different configs, but you should be good to go.
Odin only flashes the firmware if it sees that everything is set right, otherwise the firmware won't be flashed which virtually removes most troubles you would otherwise face in more universal flash tools.
But do it when you feel like it, watch plenty of videos on how to do it so that you know exactly how the process goes on.
Other than that, the others have pretty much told you everything there is to know. I wouldn't worry about the broken seals since the phone looks to be on official software with Knox intact. I would flash it with a clean firmware though just to be 100% that there no nasty on it!
Edit: Since you are a newbie to this, make sure you get the right firmware for your phone. The A52 has so many variants, the A525F, A525M, A526B, A526U1, A528B and there might be more. Make sure you know your's by looking for the Model Number in the About Phone section at the foot of the settings app.

The full model name is SM-A528BZKIBRI. How do I know if a particular CSC will be compatible?
Arobase40 said:
When you use Frija, for the Model name you just have to type SM-A528B and for the CSC, type BTU, then click on Check Update. it will show you the latest firmware available. Simply click on Download and then put it in the folder of your choice.
It may take a while depending on your internet speed. You will find a zip file with 5 files inside. So you just have to unzip it, before you can use PC Odin to flash them.
In you case, you have to use the CSC_OMC_XXXXXX and not the HOME_CSC_XXXXX as you want to convert the BRI CSC to BTU CSC.
