[Q] Can't select individuals from a group for sms after root

So I rooted my TB and something with my SMS has changed. Pre-root I could start a SMS to a group and that group would open so I could pick which individuals from that group I could message and it would also show the individual's phone number and email. This was very handy with the 10 recip. limit. Post-root that function has now vanished and it just gives me the "Limited to 10 recipients" error when I pick my group and kicks me out of the group SMS entry and into my entire people directory selection.
I know there are SMS programs I can use and I could also limit my group sizes but my morbid curiosity is getting the best of me. Anyone else seen this or know why it happened?

How do you send text-only group MMS?

As you all know, Android lacks the ability to receive group text from iPhone users under one single thread. iPhone users can text a multiple users using MMS, and all the replies from all recipients will appear under one "group MMS" thread. For Android users, each individual message in the conversation appears under the contact that sends it, not under a group thread. As a result, my SGS2 can't "reply all" to everybody who is on the original list of recipients.
This is a problem for me as I group text a lot and most of my friends are iPhone users.
I was a dumbphone user right until I got my SGS2 a month ago. I manage to tackle this problem with my dumbphone because it can "reply-all" to MMS messages.
I can't seem to find this option on the SGS2. Anyone got any pointers? Is it possible to send a text only MMS message to multiple contacts?
Reply All to iPhone group texts
I use GO SMS so this may not work in the stock Messaging app.
When I receive an iPhone group text (=Group MMS), I do the following:
(1) Create a new text-only message
(2) Manually key in all the contacts from the group text
(3) Add a subject (e.g. "X") to convert the text-only message into a Group MMS
iPhone users will receive your Group MMS in the same group text thread that everyone else is on, plus the additional "X" subject line. As you already know, without the subject, your text-only message will be sent out as SMS messages to each individual and the iPhone users will not see it in the group text thread.
Until Android Issue 24468 (google it) is resolved, this manual method is the only way I know of how to Reply All to iPhone group texts from an Android phone.
Hope that helps.
p.s. SGS2 is amazing.

[REQ.] Group contact/ SMS group for caynogen mod 7

Hello guys,
I am currently using CyanogenMod-7.1.0-RC1-Cooper-KANG by Grif_07.
The most important thing missing in this great ROM is "grouping" contacts!
I am a text geek and I send around 100+ SMS daily to my friend circle. I foreword SMS to my friends which I group according to my convenience. I was doing this with my Gingerbread unrooted SGA. But now I have rooted my phone and installed most amazing ROM but it's lagging this extremely important basic feature. I did search and found that CaynogenMod officially not having this feature and can't found any patch for this. I used GO SMS pro but failed to create any group. It shows group tab but not allowing me to add any contact to the groups. I also used Handcent sms app. It is allowing me to creat group but after creating a group it do not allow editing group. So all we have to rebuild the group which is pathetic.
So is there any solution to my problem? Any app or patch to enable grouping feature to send group sms?
Waiting for your reply,
Regards,
Adwait

Problem in sending a text message to group

Hello
I want to send a text message from my honor 8x to a group of my contacts but cannot do it because there will be an option of MMS for groups only. Can anyone tell me soultion.
You may change to SMS group messaging through the advanced settings of the Messages app.
Messages>Settings>Advanced>Group Messaging
Then choose the option: Send an SMS reply to all recipients and get individual replies (mass text)
Hope this helps.
