Serial cable to garmin GPS
Hi,
I have got a special Cable to use my xda1 with Garmin GPS V. Will it work with XDA2s?
Thank You

My XDA car cable with wired GPS is working with XDAIII

Carkit won't fit !!
The stupid qtek carkit pro won't be of any use. They changed the position of the ack connector to the antenna......why??????

my xda2 plug in head set wont work with my mda 3, all plastic 22 pin connectors (chargers, gps etc) can be made to fit
the usb cradle for the mda 3 will fit the 2 but not visa versa

CONFUSED...is the blue angel connector same as the XDA II???

Ive read many post on here and others. I must say Im confused.
Is the new Blue Angel connector physically the same as the previous XDAII connector?
Are the pin outs the same?
Some people say no problem, some are filing theirs down??? Some are "forcing it in" - YIKES
i would love to know as well
The pin outs are the same - the connector is physically the same size, but there is one minor change - there is a little 'step' on one edge of the connector.
XDAII accessories, such as chargers, usb and gps do fit but you need to be careful when you insert them.
Forget my stupidity. I used to own the Siemens SX56 and had hotsync and car charger cables.
The question is now I have the Siemens SX66, is it safe to use the same cables from the SX56? I haven't tried it since I don't want to kill my new toy!
If anyone knows or can verify that it's safe it would be really appreciated.
I am using car charger, usb sync cable and wired gps that were originally bought for my XDA1, then used on XDAII and now work fine on MDAIII.
Do any of the serial keyboards work with XDA IIs?
I tried to connect the stowaway keyboard I used with my XDA II but it does not seem to work with my QTEK 9090.
I'm only guessing, but I would think that the drivers weren't written for wm2003SE.
I have the darfon fold out keyboard that I bought for my sx56, and last night I got it working just fine with my new sx66, so yes, they work. I needed to go to darfon.com and download the newest version of the driver.
I have one of the IR keyboards and the supplied driver works fine, but I have to balance the MDAIII on something to make it high enough for the IR receiver on the keyboard because the MDAIII IR is on the side.
The pin outs are the same
Click to collapse
They are not!!!!!
There is a voltage output from an XDAII when in a call, but the XDA IIs doesn't give the voltage!
Can't remember which pin off the top of my head but I have been testing this and found this to be a major problem when designing a proper car kit for both items!

Bit worried about using my incar chrger from my xdaII for my IIs. Does anyone know where I can get a charger or usb sync cheaply for the IIs/pd2k? Expansys are charging £20! There's one here:
http://www.firstphoneshop.co.uk/o2-phone-accessories/o2-imate-pda2k.shtml
But i'm not sure its not just the old II charger...
Hi all,
I see birdog has put piccies up at:

(and thanks btw) but can anyone confirm this pinout?
Cheers!

Bottom connector for XDAIIs

Does anyone know where I can buy the plug that plugs into the bottom connector for an XDAIIs?
I've asked everyone I can think of, searched Google, Maplin(UK) and Expansys and I can't find one.
It's probably because I don't know the correct name for it!
Ideally, I'd like one that has all 22 connections and even cables attached - they look really hard to solder onto by hand!
Any information would be greatfully received
Thanks

http://www.gomadic.com/connectors.html sells connectors
Wallaby, Himalaya are compatible with HP iPAQ Connector Plug Assembly (19/22/38/39/41/43/51/54/5500 Series)
but read that the plug of BlueAngel is not exactly the same.
I purchased an XDA II car charger from the O2 shop in Manchester - it came with a plug that works fine with my XDA2s - have used it on the car charger and on the supplied power lead - charges fine.
When I got my IIs, it CAME with the plug already, any standard car charger can plug right into that plug and then the IIs... You sure you guys didn't get it?????
I think you mis-understood me - I'll try again!
I have developed a complete installed car kit for XDA, XDAII and IIs that does the following.
Mutes stereo when in call and puts all sound to front speakers
Can put navigation commands through the stereo
Hooks up to external microphone
Has PS2 (Holux) and RJ11 (TomTom and Leadtek) GPS connections
Charges device
I'm trying to get hold of a connector with 22 connections because I have one problem left.
To switch the car kit on, I either need a 5V feed from the device OR need to be able to put 5V in on one pin and get 5V out of another.
If anyone can help with either the connector or letting me know which pins I might be able to use send me a mail please
Thanks

Extra Cradle for sale yet for PDA2K?

Has anyone come across a place to buy extra docking cradles for the PDA2K ? I have been searching for one for my home pc but I can't find one anywhere!
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Randall
I got a Lil'Sync Pro cable from PPCTechs.com. It works fine and is much more portable than an extra cradle.

MDA III/XDA IIs connector different from XDA II ?

Hi,
I have a wired GPS solution named Kirrio which has been working fine with my old XDA II.
Ive just recently bought an MDA III (XDA IIs) and was expecting it to be an easy swap.
However it seems that although the connector in the bottom of the PDA looks the same between the two, it has changed.
When I connect the wired GPS cable (which also includes power for the PDA) nothing happens.. the power led doesnt light yellow as is custom on the PDA when its charging, and the GPS doesnt work.
Ive noticed that the MDAIII connector seems to have a small spring thingy in the front of it which match with a slot carved out in the plugs. This is different to the XDA II... but Im not sure if the spring thingy is a small switch or something... and if the wiring is totally different between the two.
Kirrio cant help me.
Anyone have some ideas?
I am using my original Destinator (Leadtek) wired GPS that I got for the XDA, used it on XDAII with no problems and have been using it since last October with no problems on my MDAIII (XDAIIs)
check this
http://www.mobile-review.com/pda/review/htc-blue-angel-en.shtml
Reset key, cradle and cable connector is placed on the low part of the device. The connector is differed from the old device, it means that old cables and cradles can not be used with the new smartphone.

Leadtek 9531 to USB cable

I have a Leadtek 9531 GPS Mouse which I wired into my car for my previous PDA (An Orange SPV M2000 branded Blue Angel).
I've now upgraded to an Orange SPV M3100 branded Hermes.
I want to keep my GPS Mouse, but I can't find a replacement cable set anywhere. (All the USB - RJ11 Cables I can find are Charging only)
Leadtek's website is no help !
The exisiting cable is a cigarette lighter to PDA cable, with a y split for an RJ11 socket for the GPS Mouse (I'm after a cigarette lighter to USB\RJ11 female)
Does anyone know where I can get one of these cables from ?
cheers
Correct me if I am wrong but I believe since Hermes has no USB host chip one cannot connect any USB devices to it? Hermes´ USB port is for audio, sync and charging only, right?
