The only reason to change from wizard to herald is that the herald is much, much, much thinner.
With this battery it is again the same.
hehe
But i guess there are enough reasons for this battery:
- much wlan working
- watching movies
- listening music
lol - xsign

well some batterys don't offer what they are stating out... so i better ask before tapping into sth. weird

This one?
I am looking at this one:

My only question is will this back cover work for my wing, granted it is black so it will look different, but ill the camera and speaker holes line up properly?
Thanks,

Anyone interested to be my shareholder?

2400 mAh battery is as thick as the 3200/3000 mAh from lion/mugen. You still need a different battery cover. Unless something had changed drastically in last couple days.

HTC MAX 4G T8290 battery on HD?

What are the chances that the 1500mAh battery that comes with the MAX 4G would fit into our Touch HDs? The MAX is slightly thicker than the HD which may explain the bigger battery though..
Yeah that would be nice... I wonder if the battery connects are in the same place. If so the battery may work but probably bend or bulge our battery cover.
Another problem is where do you buy the max 4g battery from?

No chances, different dimensions. I see them.
That sucks. I was wondering the same thing.
heyhey,
I am from Hong Kong, and I got my HD yesterday.
I also bought a replacement battery incase my HD runs out of battery~
I think it is a Japanese brand, and the battery comes with 1500mAh!!
google it and u might find it!

Got myself a 1500mah battry from ebay.
It fits and works.
was hoping for an even bigger battry, cause the difference between 1320 and 1500 isn't that much.

i bet its momax. its HK brand. im using it. also 1500mah. not longer than original one.
but its ok to be a replacement....so far so good
Gotta be careful with batteries of unknown sources.
Surely there are many good and cheap stuffs made in China, but more often you find cheap and bad items.
From my experiences, these low price batteries are short-lived, with wrong mAh parameters, and worst of all, may cause damage to your precious phone. I'd better buy an original one (or wait for it to appear...)
I'm also using a second 1500 mAh battery from eBay without issue. Does last longer than the original 1300 unit as I can compare because I swap between the two on extended trips away from the office.

New 2200mAH battery from Expansys

There is a new double capacity 2200mAH battery in Expansys website:
http://www.expansys.com.hk/d.aspx?i=183044
Wonder how is the thickness increased by this new battery? Is there any impact to the GPS radio as seen in some extended battery in original Diamond?
I'm sure that the thickness increased!
Otherwise not be sold with cover. It is like the diamond 1.
This one is much more modest (1350 mAh), but seems to fit within the original back cover:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/DIAMOND2-LONG-LIFE-BA-S360-COMPATIBLE/dp/B002AANPYG
It seems that extended batteries are appearing on the net already, nice, I would like to have something a little bit more beefy than the original one (2200 mAh may be overkill), to be able to use my TD2 on the move while not worrying about saving battery (GPS and wifi while away from plugs for 1 day for example). A battery slightly larger than the orginal, plus the original as a backup, should cover all my uses cases...
The website mentioned the extended battery only price at GBP8.90. Wish buyer may get the goods.

Interrested about your test too: how does it fit, how long for charging it (compared to standard one), and of course the most important thing: does it offer increased battery life

I bought the same one, but the size is much smaller and a bit wider than the original, as I explain in my post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=3943769#post3943769
I told the guy, and he told me there must be some mistake, and he' ll send it again. How does yours look like size-wise? Is it working properly?
any news on the 1350 battery?
The issue is solved, as I explain in my relevant post:

The battery I was given was wrong. The guy sent me the correct one now, and everything seems fine.

[Q] As usual, late to the party...

Just picked up an Orange branded TG01 (WM6.5) that is in great shape so immediately came here to peruse the forums for a good ROM. Before I get started just want to say that you guys perform a great service and I really appreciate it! I've been periodically checking in here since end of 2008. Had it not been for the excellent ROMs like the Schap's 4.31 (WM 6.0) ROM for my ancient, but bulletproof, HTC Hermes 8525 not sure what smartphone I would have ended up with.
Regarding TG01, I have searched these forums a bit trying to find which is the best way to proceed, but still too much of a TG01 n00b at this point. Here are some questions/comments if some of you wouldn't mind answering for me: (Thanks in advance!)
1. I'm guessing Android development is dead on TG01 since it seems most developers have moved on already. Is that correct?
2. There are no polished versions of Android where all functions work at this point?
2. From my searches so far, it seems like the developers' WM 6.5 focus was/is mostly on stripping out unnecessary crap, like I found that Orange likes to include, to free up memory, resources, and improve battery life. Is that a fair assessment? Even after some preliminary searching the forums here I still haven't a clue which XDA ROM has the greatest functionality, but without the pork. I have to say that I'm really disappointed in the (I guess) stock WM 6.5 in my phone. It seems so dumbed down compared to my old WM 6.0 vsn. I had access to just about every possible feature/setting of the OS, but this 6.5 vsn is so limited for access and customizing. Of course I'm sure much of that was from the cooked XDA ROM. I see now why the general public was so negative about WM 6.5. Anyway, looks like the only alternative at this point is to find the best WM6.5.X ROM for my TG01 since WP 7 seems like vaporware for this model also.
3. Does the TG01 actually have an internal GPS receiver? When I click on that feature it begins looking for a network. Is that because of the Assisted-GPS or because the phone doesn't have the receiver? Orange Maps is installed, but it gives me an error message, probably because I'm in Thailand, and this phone came from the UK.
4. Trying to sort out the tiny 1000 mah battery problem like everyone else has. One option I found in these forums is the very expensive Mugen battery kits. Are there any other alternatives?
Sorry about the n00b questions, but I like this phone and hope to give it a good home (with some upgrades) until prices come down on the newer Galaxy line of phones. Phones in Thailand are expensive, even older models. While a new Galaxy S 2 sells for about the same price as in the US, the Galaxy S still sells for around $440. Even a new Omnia II still sells for $235 here. New ones on eBay are selling for ~$95.
Will stop for now. I welcome any and all comments and advice.
Thanks!

@CrashMurdock,
Welcome to the Forum - and no such thing as too late
I believe my WM6.5 ROM (see link in signature below) is about as close to a definitive 'simple' but fully functional Titanium edition (ie. what the Tg01 could have looked like out of the box! ). There are a number of carefully selected cooked in enhancements and additional apps, but it does not include Mobile Shell, given that is something which can easily be added to taste if required.
You may wish to try it out and see what you think, even if just from interest to see how the device can behave. Overall I would hope you will find it a dramatic improvement on the stock ROM you are currently 'enjoying'. Beyond that, there are a range of other WM6.5.x ROMs available - a good place to look for a roundup is Pere's ROM Table which lists all the editions available and provides links to their sources.
With regard to your question about GPS.... the TG01 has a proper integrated GPS receiver which works extremely well when set up correctly and with suitable GS mapping software. Personally I favour Garmin XT when driving and Google Maps for general reference, but there are others using Tom Tom and other apps quite happily. I have made various registry edits in order to effectively control the GPS and am now very happy with its performance, whether using Google maps or Garmin XT.
You also mention the 'battery problem'. Personally I favour the Mugen 1300 mAH battery which is only a tad thicker than the stock battery and retains the original back cover without problem. Just a littlet trickier to get the cover off but mainly knack. Another Mugen (or could be the stock) then lives in my wallet as a charged spare. No problems then with endurance, particularly if you have the opportunity to top up from a laptop sometimes.
Best regards,
Kevin

If You have any electric skills and nothin against thick tg01, You can utilize middle or large Mugen covers and
"naked" li-pol battery in connection with original 1000mAh battery. This solution is about 3 times cheaper than utilizing original Mugen 2600 or 3900 batteries.
There is the thread on the forum with my solution and pictures.

Hi Kevin,
Thanks for the warm welcome and the great info! I actually already downloaded your KPW110618.007 vsn a couple of days ago, but haven't installed it yet as still in the fact finding phase. I will definitely give it a whirl. Also, thanks for the links to Pere's ROM Table, I looked at it briefly the other day, but am unfamiliar with many of the terms used, so was/am a bit confused since being new to the TG01 game. I'm sure that will pass shortly. Hope you guys don't mind more n00b questions.
That's great news about the GPS. I have an old Googlemaps cab, but am hoping to find an app that doesn't require online service as cell-based Internet here in Isaan, the northeast Thailand farming region, is beyond slow. My TG01 shows Edge service only, although my 8525 shows G service availability. Not sure if a new radio version will improve that or not. Any ideas? BTW, which registry editor are you using?
I just checked your Mugen link. Looking at their 'fat' 2600/3900 mah kits, I'm wondering why Mugen didn't take advantage of the phone's massive real estate to make a double/single layer array of 1300 mah batteries wired in parallel instead of just stacking them up making for a very thick case. From a left hand side profile it would look something like this:
**********************************
* 1300 mah battery * 1300 mah battery *
**********************************
battery-------------> * 1300 mah battery *
compartment ------>******************
or better yet...
**********************************
* 1000 mah battery * 1000 mah battery *
**********************************
* 1000 mah battery * 1000 mah battery *
**********************************
battery-------------->* 1000 mah battery *
compartment ------>******************
(Sorry for the crudeness of the diagram as the infernal extra space remover kept trashing it. The asterisks represent the battery pack arrays)
I would definitely like to get weekly charging cycles like I have with my 'fat' 3000 mah Cameron Sino battery I have in my 8525. I found 1000 mah TG01 batteries on eBay for around $8.10 each including free shipping. Here's the link:
Code:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/170658969408?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649
Update: Just discovered these are excellent quality Cameron Sino batteries!
This phone needs and deserves a 'fat' battery setup to feed that 1 GHz CPU and to preserve the micro-USB port. It's a shame that Mugen batteries/kits are so extremely expensive. Sure would like to have one of their 2600 cases for the project, though.
Kevin, thanks again and I look forward to more exchanges.
Cheers!

Hi again Pere,
Thank you for the nice welcome! I had a much better experience once I bought a 'fat' 3000 mah battery kit for my HTC Hermes/8525 a couple of years ago. I'm not great at soldering so plan to get one of the Thai phone shop technicians to do the honors. I've just ordered (2) Cameron Sino 1000 mah batteries so will try a triple battery "optimized" array. Yesterday I sent an email to Mugen asking if I can buy a 'replacement' 2600 mah rear cover. Hope they'll part with one...and for a reasonable price.

Cover model for largest battery for tg01 is :
HLI-TG01XL (Black)
I checked it few minutes ago and it is tragedy
From unknown reasons two things has been changed.
I guess they had many orders for covers only, not batteries and changed
inquiry form.
1 ) First, cost of cover has been changed from 7$ to 14$ !!!
2) You have to insert "battery order" number so in other words You have to proove You bought battery in mugen. It is without sense. What about if I bought tg01 in second hand from big mugen battery and cover has been destroyed ?
I had luck. My total costs was 7$

Ironic as that was going to be my excuse if Mugen asked me why I wanted the back cover only after requesting one online a couple of days ago. I was going to tell them I just bought the phone used (true) and accidently dropped it and the back cover is damaged. If they asked for battery ID stuff I would just say the phone is in the shop being repaired as it stopped working. Instead, I got an email from Mugen today saying they don't have "cases" only back covers. I'm thinking WTF??!! I was very clear in my written request for a 'replacement' rear cover for their 2600 mah battery pack for the TG01. Will see what happens tomorrow.
Thanks for the info!

Just got an email from Mugen with a direct link to order. Either battery (2600 mah or 3900 mah) back cover is now $14.98! How long ago did you order yours for $7? At least international shipping is still free so not a bad total price considering. The problem is as you mentioned that the buyer must provide "Your Battery Order Number". Also, there's this note at the bottom:
"PLEASE NOTE: We will only ship additional battery doors to customers who have purchased batteries form us and only for the battery types purchased."
Looks like I'm out of luck with the pirates at Mugen.

Extended battery

Does anyone on here use the 5300mah extended battery for our phones? Was curious how much bigger it made it feel, how hot it got, yada yada. A pic of it in compared to stock would be splendid also! also if anyone has tried the "extended slim" battery that's supposed to fit with existing back (weighing my options) I love how this phone feels in my pocket and in my hands idk if I want something that's gonna make it a lot thicker. Thanks again guys. I love this forum lol.

---edit--- nvm. I finally found that thread on the 5300. I tried for an hour earlier lol. But about that extended slim, its like 3000mAh, is that even worth it? That 5300 is HUGE

Hi There,
I have the 5400mah from amazon, $9.99 with plastic door. Battery works good and door is not bad but will not last over time. I also have two 2700 mah which where $9-13 from amazon and came with wall mount charger they work awesome. I have had no issues with either battery types and love them all. I tripped over my charging cable while plugged in the phone and does not work. I am tied up at the moment, about to make a rom help thread haha...when i get time today or tomorrow i will post pics and answer further questions along with details and links. And i use my note for everything, games reading and video all day long, truly is my phablet.
The 2700's fit as if stock, use stock door.

Awesome thanks! I like my note just wish it had battery life like the note 2. I might invest in one of the 3000 mah battery. They have decent reviews.

Are you saying there's a 3000 mah batt for this phone? Link please?
Otherwise I used to have the extended 5300mah. was just too big for my liking. Sold it on ebay and got the RAV 2750. But interested in the 3000 mah you mentioned, thanx in advance.
