How to upgrade WM6 Rom under Vista x64? plz help! - JAMin, XDA Neo, S200 ROM Development

hello,
with this guide i have managed to downgrade my prophet to the NVID rom.
the flashed worked well and now i am at the "tap the screen" step from the newly flashed aku2.2 rom.
now i should install the wm6 rom and i downloaded the PDAVIET 4.0.0.0.3.
i started the "upgrade_rom.bat" and i get several error messages, about that the software is not compatible with a 64bit windows.
what can i do now? can't i flash an other rom on my device? please help me.
edit: it seems like the sleep4.exe is not compatible

now i tried it with windows xp via vmware:
it updates to the aku2.2 until the point, where i should stick for a while with 80%. then it displays an error message and i tried it again. same thing.
so i flashed the nvid aku2.2 over vista x64 without a problem, i disconnected the device, open up vmware with windows xp and connected the device here.
i started the upgrade_rom.bat from pdaviet 4.0.0.0.3 and it clears and copys the new extension rom.
the it will write the crossbow OS rom, then the following error appears:
could not update itsutils.dll to the current version.
then the flashing stops. what can i do now?
edit:
now i tried it with active sync 4.2 (not 4.5) but i still can't even flash the nvid rom on my xp. at 80% it gives me the error 302

Problems with upgrading the SPV M3100

I recently purchased a SPV M3100 after reading many great reviews on this device.
I have just unlocked it using the HTC Hermes SIM & CID unlocker v3a using my old Windows XP laptop and it works great (I've tried using my Vista ultimate 64 computer earlier it didn't work).
I am now interested in upgrading my SPV M3100 to latest software available from Orange or the WM6 roms available on this site like Black Dymond, really keen in seeing its potential.
I have read through the Hermes upgrading forums carefully and made sure all is done properly. I have even read through the Mr Vanx step guides in upgrading.
First I decided to use the Orange update from their website.
After making sure the USB cables are connected correctly and allowing the WMDC to sync I proceeded to run the update.
I followed each step and tick the boxes. The phone goes into the tricolour mode or bootloader screen with the following on the screen:
Herm100
IPL-1.01
Herm100
SPL-1.40
On the computer, the window 'verifying your device' is on for few minutes, after this a new window appears indicating: ERROR 260 - update error
This happens again and again, day after day, I have soft reset the device, rebooted the computer, tried both the XP and vista computers, check the usb cable and connections, did everything that is said in the forums, but nothing....
I have even attempted to use the HardSPL program and followed the process to load the black dymond, but same message appears.
Must note that after soft resetting the device the phone returns to its original state, so no harm done. but no upgrade....... Damm...
Help... Any ideas ...... Please....
Many thanks
Danny

Update your WMDC to the latest version.
Then try again
Thanks for your prompt reply...
I thought when I originally installed the WMDC was the latest version as I have downloaded it from the Microsoft windows mobile website....
I have downloaded the appropiate Vista 64 version for my vista machine and the appropiate xp version for my xp laptop...
Did you download the latest version...are you sure??
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/devicecenter.mspx
Same problem -> Error 260 if I try to upgade.
Hi
I hve the same issue. Tried on Windows XP and Vista.
Also downlaoded the latest WMDC.
Could that be something with the area code?
I'm in Norway.
For XP should you not be using ActiveSync 4.5?
I re-flahed my M3100. The first attempt it failed, it then recovered itself and the second attemp was successful.
Im sure I have, just downloaded the other day, anyway I have downloaded it again just now, installed it, connected my phone and allowed the sync process to complete. I run the orange update again and still the same message..... Error 260: update error
What SPL version do you have?
To check press and hold BOTH the side ok button and the power button, then insert the stylus into the hole in the bottom of the device.
I have SPL 1.40 Olipro
So i take it you havent read or searched on this error, the orange RUU cannot recognise your device because you have anewer SPL version (HardSPL)...ffs dude had you told us that fact it would have saved you PLENTY of time. You posted you had SPL version 1.40...................you SHOULD have said you have already updated to HArdSPL (1.40.olipro)
follow my Safe WM5 Flashing Guide to get it done.
Sorry if I have wasted your time. I thought that I included the my phone details (SPL and rom etc) on my original message.
I have searched for this error, but I gather I wasn't getting anywhere...
So I thought I would ask for some help and advice....
Anyway thanks for replying with your help. I will check your link straight away.
If I still have problems, I hope it would be ok to ask in this thread.
Thankx Mr Vanx for all your help.
It is now working. I've loaded the WM6 Black IV Shadow rom.
Do you know when there will be a 3G / video dialer for this rom.
Many thanks
Hi MRVANX, i also have the same SPL and my radio is not working. I tried to open the link that you have pasted but the link is broken. Can you please share the info here or on my email address "[email protected]"

bootloader recovery prob :(

Hi all,
I have tried the bootloader recovery but when I try and install the NVID rom while on the bootloader screen, it says error (260) the update utility cannot connect to your pda/phone. However on my vista machine the device manager recognises a HTC 'pocket pc usbsync device' while my prophet is connected on bootloader.
I did upgrade from PT VII to Crystal 2 (no error messages) without downgrading to WM5 NVID first. I only did this because I had an error that seemed to not let me downgrade to the NVID rom, so then I got lazy. My bootloader still comes on and if I reset normally it just gets stuck on Qtek screen showing OS 6.0.0.1 - is there still hope?
Just if anyone has a suggestion + thanks for the great work on these wm6 roms.

you have to go to bootloader mode .. press camera button and hold it then reset your phone , then keep holding the camera until you get to bootloader. then connect your ppc to you pc. don't care about activsync. just run the wm5 downgrade. you should be able to upgrade after you downgrade to wm5.
Success! - it appears that it was my PC running Windows Vista which is not initially compatible with running the RUU rom update files whilst in bootloader.

Check THIS GUIDE . Look for downgrade guide section. Pay special attention to Vista instructions and all the version information. .NET Framework, ActiveSync, etc... Versions are important.

Probs upgrading Qtek2020

I run Vista and have "upgraded" the USB Drivers and followed the guide that should enable you to upgrade your devise in Vista as described elsewhere on this forum.
I put my Qtek in BootLoader Mode, put it in the crade and checked that the writing changes from Serial to USB and execute the HimaUpgradeUT_noID.exe from the [titipan.net]Hima - Helmi AKU3.5 ROM SP2.
After a while I get a "Cant Connect " error.
Now heres the "fun" part. If I just execute the file without going into Bootloader I get as far as the "Upgrading your Device" Screen. After a couple of minuts without anything happening I get the "Error 101".
Am I doing something wrong here or do I need additional Upgrading of Vista to be able to upgrade my device from WM2003 to WM5?
you can search around the forum for upgrading using vista as things with vista seem to work differently then xp
or you can try and get access to an xp pc to upgrade with

Stuck on wm5

I'm currently running Dopod wm5 (http://rapidshare.com/files/53995708/ruu_s...podwwe_ship.rar), and I've application and reg unlocked, and done everything, but I keep getting error 260 when it verifies the device ID. I've tried multiple roms. Can anyone help?
(I flashed the official rom from Erofich's v9a)
make SuperCID ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=292068 )
SuperCID
I did that
Maybe it's the fact that I'm flashing from the wrong OS? I've tried from windows xp on virtual machine, Vista, and win 7 RC.
try this, it should help

Problem solved!
I flashed the imate wm5 rom and unlocked and flashed normally from there.
