I have a problem with my Prophet and he needs to go to the factory..i need to install wm5 ,i have a wm6 rom and when i downgrade to wm5, the pda goes to bootloader and appears the following window:
ERROR 302 UPDATE ERROR
The Rom Update Utility has encountered communications errors during the update process. The Program will guide you step-by-step to recover from the errors so you can continue with the update!
I have the following advice but it stop´s on bootloader..

if u are in Bootloader mode the one in three color mode.. U can downgrade surely with PDA viet temp.
In Boot loader mode just reconnect your device to pc through USB . and launch the PDA VIET program..
It should be work.

try flashing NVID wm5 when in bootloader. if you were successfull flash HardSPL and after that you original ROM!
First, disable any firewall
Put the prophet in bootloader (3-clored screen) by pushing CAM button and punching the reset hole at the bottom. When you realease the stylus, the colors should appear.
Then, before connecting your prophet to the PC, first DISable the "Allow USB connection" option in the connectionsettings box of ActiveSync.
After that connect the bootloadermoded Prophet to your PC, it conects as an ordinairy USB device. Then run the RUU of your choice.
probably the better idea is to send a snapshot of your display in fault mode.
do that with a camera. it could be useful to identify the state of your error.
i'm not skilled but here you can find a pool of powerfull developers.

I tried to downgrade my MDAII from the ROM 1.72 to ROM 1.66.
But after downgrading it, it looks like my MDA II is dead now...
It doesnt do anything anymore
Now I got a white screen with upper writing "SERIAL"
and down "V1.03" and no backlight at all...
Can somebody help/guide me how to fix my device?

'Serial' just means that its trying to communicate in Serial mode, if you drop it onto the dock/charger (assuming that is connected to your PC) the word 'Serial' should change to 'USB'. If it does then try the downgrade again.

Don't worry, it's not dead. If the downgrade process completed normally, you just need to do a hard reset (press power button while holding stylus in reset hole). If this doesn't help, the downgrade failed.
The most likely reason is that you connected the cradle to a USB hub. Try connecting it directly to your PC, then perform the flash procedure again.
Another possibility is that you used Windows 95/98/ME. Some users have reported problems. Try the flash procedure from a Windows 2000/XP system again.

I solved the problem for me:
With HimaUpgradeUt.exe there was no connection. It was a too old version (0.5.0.0).
So I replaced it with Version 0.6.0.0 and it runs !!!

Now the phone boot in tricolor mode.

I find in the forum that for unbricked my htc i must to flash any rom in nbh format.
How to do that.
I try to install also original ROM_9600_FRA_10303.exe rom but activsync it not active.

Connect you device in bootloader screen with your PC with USB and you should see USB appear at the bottom of the screen on yor device. Now flash any .nbh with the RUU wrapper and select SPL 2.10 New bootloader and flash the ROM...

In the tri color screen with the device plugged in via USB do you have USB written at the bottom? Does your device appear in the device manager?
Yes USB is written on the bottom, and yes the phone appear in device manager .

When i use myyt.exe the phone make something, but when i try to upgrade any rom i have always this message error [260]
i try to update with rom radio 1.47.00.10 , the upgrade is correct 100%
but when i reboot i return in tricolor mode
I success to install rom with UUwrapper but now the phone block on the picture windows mobile

i wanted to upgrade my ROM in to the WM6, at the bigining i copied the "diskimage_Ver.nb0" & "EBOOT.nb0" on my memory card. and got my Atom Exec into the bootloader , after download complited the LCD got dark, i got it on bootloader and start the "Device Software Update Utility" and clicked on "Next" until "Upgrad" was shown.When I clicked on "upgrade" this error was shown:"CONNECTION ERROR" . What should i do to fix it?

donot ever try thru SD card.. there is a chance that you may brick your device.
Goto bootloader mode first then u run DSUU.
Now after i did that, it dosent work with DSUU .it show "error connection".and my divice shows the upgrade fail
How many files you have in the upgrade directory? Normally it should contain 6 files:
- Device Software Update Utility.exe
- diskimage_Ver.nb0
- EBOOT.nb0
- ExtendedRom.img
- nova_pda_033105.mot
- vl1d_pda_Ver.mot
It will always shown connection error if one of these files is missing
I have all of them,
It seems feasiable to full downloadig the Rom from SD(memory card), but i need mor files:
"diskimg.nb0 , eboot.nb0 , dm.nbo , flash.img , agent.mot , mot.mot , CPLD.img , assetInf.img , extended.img , Mdoc.img"
If it's possible to upgrading with them how can i rech them ?

Why did you do this?! No one gave out instructions to flash anything using SD CARD in the first place! Of course you will get connection error because bootloader is not functioning. Remove your SDCard, start bootloader mode, and flash the normal way.
I did that but it's not worked. and got me "error connection", i saw some where that if i do it in the that way (with sd) it's worke and beacuse of that i did it in that wey, now what should i do? how can upgrad my ROM or downgrad it, my divice is alredy ded, how can i get it alive? help me

can you go into bootloader mode?
yes it's go to the bootloader but when run DSUU plase of the last version of the rom and radio is empty, when i click on UPGRAD it get me ERROR CONNECTION

I'm sorry. I don't get you. You can go to bootloader, but you get an error. Can you post a screen shot of the error? so, I will know what to do.

do you have any other USB to mini-USB cable? try changing it... The ones used for SD Card readers or Digital Cameras are the same, and do it again.
i do that in all of my USB ports and they are same and get me error conection again
Is there any wey else to inistall a ROM on my divice?
1) Is windows recognizing your device?.. (Do you have activesync installed?)
2) Did u try using different USB cable ?
3) Are you logged on as administrator?
4) Did you remove SD card before going to bootloader mode
5) What is the screen content when you go to boot loader mode
6) Before connecting the device go to bootloader first, then connect the device and then run DSUU
7) Activesync may install device drivers for your device so try installing activesync?

1. We get the most first sewing of Xda-atomexec-eng-20060614_r060428n_ex0028.exe (only by this sewing restore was able)
2. We drag out the files of eboot.nb0
3. We copy on miniSD in a root directory.
4. We insert miniSD in Pocket, enter in bootloader (Camera+SR)
5. We wait inundated while.
6. We take out a miniSD, enter in bootloader, start sewing on PC, connect to USB (it is needed to put to death in the processes of AS)

I have tried the bootloader recovery but when I try and install the NVID rom while on the bootloader screen, it says error (260) the update utility cannot connect to your pda/phone. However on my vista machine the device manager recognises a HTC 'pocket pc usbsync device' while my prophet is connected on bootloader.
I did upgrade from PT VII to Crystal 2 (no error messages) without downgrading to WM5 NVID first. I only did this because I had an error that seemed to not let me downgrade to the NVID rom, so then I got lazy. My bootloader still comes on and if I reset normally it just gets stuck on Qtek screen showing OS 6.0.0.1 - is there still hope?
Just if anyone has a suggestion + thanks for the great work on these wm6 roms.

you have to go to bootloader mode .. press camera button and hold it then reset your phone , then keep holding the camera until you get to bootloader. then connect your ppc to you pc. don't care about activsync. just run the wm5 downgrade. you should be able to upgrade after you downgrade to wm5.
Success! - it appears that it was my PC running Windows Vista which is not initially compatible with running the RUU rom update files whilst in bootloader.

Hi all.
I tried to update to WM6 on my Dopod 818 Pro with ProphetTouchIXbeta2. It displayed and error and after hard resetting I can only get the splash screen. So I roamed the forum the whole day downloaded a couple of other WM6 packages (I could not get the WM5 files from the WM6 upgrade guide, link is dead). So I downloaded the ROM updates from the HTC websites for the 818 Pro. I can start the 818 Pro into Bootloader, but whatever ROM file I use will tell me Update Error 260 Cannot connect!!
The Bootloader tells me the following: IPL 2.15.0001 / SPL 2.15.0001 and USB connected. Active Sync will not connect.
Sorry, I am a newbie and should have waited for the official upgrade. But I had to try

i had the same trouble some time ago. The false was, that I connect my NEO on an USB Hub, take a direct connection between your PC and your XDA. Also, if it's possible, try another PC. HTH
Put your Prophet in bootloadermode: press Camm button and soft reset at the same time.
In ActiveSync on your PC: DISable connectionsetting "Allow USB connection"
Conect your Prophet to a USBport directly with a cable.
Run a NVID-RUU, perhaps the official VID-RUU doesn't recognize your device anymore.
This should do it.

Thanks guys, but the main issue is:
1. I can get into Bootloader
2. BUT ActiveSync does not make a connection with my DEvice in Bootloader and the ROMs I tried cannot connect to my device then.
I tried it on 2 machines (Vista and XP)

Activesync is not supose to conect to phone in bootloder
just run the wm5

but if I run the WM5 by HTC its only goes to the Verify information screen and after that. it says Error [260]: Connection. The Update utility cannot connect to your PDA Phone.
And in the beginning of the process it displays a couple of steps, like check that your battery is at least 50% charged and other ssteps, of which one is, that I have to make sure that ActiveSyc is connected.

Ok, the issue was that only this file from HTC would do the update: RUU_Prophet_2151327_21513121_021921_DOP_ASIA_WWE_Ship.exe
Alle the others I downloaded would not work, also not the files I got from here. One was by the way full of Viruses !

which one was "full of viruses" and how you checked it ?
Sorry should have mentioned it before:
It was Prophet"s_2.20.7.34_2.20.7114_02.69.21
Virus or unwanted program 'W32/Sality.L [W32/Sality.L]'
All .exes were infected in that package.
