Titan Build 21193\21195\21198 - Mogul, XV6800 ROM Development

I ask two things in providing these SYS files and ROMs.
1.) If you post a mirror, state that it is a mirror, and link to the first page of this thread.
2.) If you find errors in the SYS files I have provided, and you fix them, please report back to me via PM which SYS you have, when you Downloaded it (because they may get updated), and Exactly what was done to fix the error. This way I can make the corrections, give you credit, and update the files for everyone else.
Okay folks, here's a new thread to break up some of the Chaos. I am currently breaking down everything for Build 21195 and I will do my best to keep things organized (as far as links to builds) in the first three posts. This way, we don't have to search around to find a particular RUU link. These Builds are designed for the Titan and for Verizon. If you are not on Verizon, load up the DCD Carrier CAB for your carrier. Many thanks go out to the countless individuals and teams that have played a role in educating me as well as releasing some great builds for WM6.x.
I use XIP's compiled by dan-htc-touch (PPCGeeks).
If it weren't for members like Mr. Free (XDA/PPCGeeks), Drellisdee (PPCGeeks), Conflipper (PPCGeeks), GC14 (XDA-for the Arcsoft CABs we had to use in the beginning of this project), and countless other members here on XDA-Developers, over on PPCGeeks, HTCGeeks, and other Windows Mobile sites all over the world, many of us wouldn't be where we are now....Beta Testing.
Remember, these are all Beta Releases of a potentially unstable OS. It is very possible that they could get you in over your head. I am providing these builds for testing purposes only, and I am not responsible for any damage that may result from your actions of using these files. You do so at your own risk.
All links contain a RARed RUU and a txt file that lists what OEMs were added. Just to help you follow along. There are a couple of extras I throw in that are not stock to the builds, but are needed for edits and testing purposes. These include, but are not limited to: Total Commander (File Explorer), nueExtROM, nuePerformance, and the Network Plug-in. These were not designed for these builds, but have ran for me and I use them in my testing. You may use them if I post manual fixes to get you by until the next release.

*This is not my ROM. I did not build or assist with any part of this ROM. I am currently testing it and it seems pretty quick and has some interesting features in it.
*Be sure to thank <bbsandkm> over at PPCGeeks for this one. ( http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showpost.php?p=915678&postcount=3890 )
THE BUILD 21725 RELEASES BELOW HAVE ISSUES WITH THE CAMERA WORKING. TRY THE CAMERA FIX FROM POST #2 IF YOU ACTUALLY USE THE TITAN'S CAMERA. OTHERWISE, THE CAMERA ISSUE IS BEING WORKED ON BY THEPPCKITCHEN TEAM AND OTHERS.

Titan_FDE_21725_Base_Sprint
*Built for Verizon and Sprint users respectively.
*Must install Arcsoft manually.
*Comparible to the 21501 Release as far as add-ons.
*Has Extended ROM.
*I have a new PROVXML in this release. Wireless Manager, Battery Settings, Version Number, Ring/Vibrate....attempting to correct all previous issues we have had right away. Not alil settings are taking effect right away, it seems a couple Soft Resets are in order, but after 1-2 Soft Resets, it looks like life is good.
*Now labeled as "FDE_21725" (Force Developments Edition) instead of "Force_21725."
*The Start menu from <bbsandkim> has been modified to remove the Hexegons, but the 4/5 row Start Menu in this release is otherwise their's.

Due to unknown conflicts with files pertaining to the Sprint Carrier OEM, I have decided to pull this build until the issue can be resolved. Sprint users (and other carriers), please flash the Verizon CAB and load your DCD Carier cab if needed. Sorry for the inconvenience.
***Microsoft MyPhone has been reported and confirm to be non functional. Please download and install the Microsoft MyPhone CAB to correct this issue*** (Thanks to <mattsm> for providing the cab file)
*This is nothing like you are used to! Thanks to the hard work of <Colonel00> and the PPCKitchens team, we have managed to add the WM7 Titanium Project to this ROM.
*Thanks to <mattsm> (XDA) for his hard work in helping me test and fix a number of issues. And also for helping to get the Battery/Memory gauges into a fully functional OEM. Great work!
*You will need to manually run Showaco's Titanium Weather and manually insert various files to get the weather app to look right. Download this package: Showaco Titanium Weather_v4.2 Update for WM7 Project.rar , it has the cab installer for Showco's Titanium Weather v4.2 (latest) and the various files to intigrate it into the WM7 Project. An Instructions.txt file is included, follow it and you will be on your way!
*Replaced the dialer, and we have TierAuto Install back again. Oh, and check out your new default ringtone good for a grin at least. It is my default ringtone on my phone.
*Go to the Start Menu, run "ATContacts" and close it. This will cure the issue for your "Fave People" pane on the Today screen.
*Do not install a different CHome Config tool. It may screw up the WM7 Project and leave you having to reflash. There is a devoted CHome Config tool in your Start Menu.
Titan_FDE_21806
*This is a link to my folder on Media Fire. There are 3 ROM's (Base, Beta 1.0, and Beta 1.0 WM7). These ROMS have been tested to see if they boot and nothing else. They are provided so y'all have something to play with if you are having flashing withdrawls while I am away this week. I CANNOT BUILD ANY ROMs THIS WEEK. SORRY.

Re: WM 6.5 Kitchen QVGA and VGA Developer Edition
ok after looking a my works 2003 exchange server there are a lot of things that could be giving errors im looking in to all of these as we speak hang tight with this there are some add-on's that are needed im looking all the errors i got today
but here is this you can do a domain enroll and sync that way and could use active sync with out look that is attached to a domain
here look at this site it explains it in detail http://support.microsoft.com/kb/292066

Ok, I set it up to sync against my personal exchange 2003 server (I found a 25 licence on ebay for almost nothing about 2 years ago) with build 1.2 of 21193, I got the same exact error. Here's how it all went down... for the test here (oh, and 21195 is out, update to that version plz for the next build)..
1. Setup on PC, set up to sync against my server (I am on the local domain in my home), it seemed to sync mail and I was able to select my folders to sync.
2. Make sure I am fully sync'ed....all good here...all mail is on the 6800 as requested
3. Disconnect from PC, connect via VZW internet and sync again..
4. Activesync on WM said it sync'ed fine (checked time difference).
5. Logged in to 3rd party mail to send a test mail to my account on my exchange server.
6. Heard test e-mail arrived on my desktop. Attempt to sync again, active sync error 0x80070057...Pull 3 hairs out of my head..
Nope, does not work, I know my 2003 Exchange server very well, This is a problem with this build, I have been syncing for a long time from WM 5.0 (when 5.0 was new)

You cannot add Nitrous Oxide to an engine with with 2 dead cylinders and expect it to run 9's in the quarter mile. So why add features to an OS that isn't running at 100% yet?....It isn't logical.

Yoda,
What does this have to do with exchange ? I looked up Domain Enroll (never had to use on a WM device so I didn't know too much about it), You need Microsoft's System Center Mobile Device Manager 2008 (MDM) to be able to Enroll a WM deivce to the domain, from what I have read.
One of the places I read about it...
http://pdaphonehome.com/forums/samsung-sch-i760/115091-wm-6-1-domain-enrollment.html
I hope you figure out something on this, I know I am behind with a old 2003 Exchange server but, a lot of us need to be able to sync here.
I thank you for your efforts here !!!

exchange 2003 (behind in times)
dont read in to the title but here is my thoughts on this yes to domain enroll can be done but major problem is this for it to work right you need a vpn from exchange server but you also have to have it linked with server 2003 witch is a another part you have to have the device setting in the AD right for the phone for it to sync right if not you will get a comm error unable to connect witch is what i was getting this after noon now on the other hand looking at the set up it is really simple just have to make sure you have the server client active sync plug in and service turned on in the MMC console and have all the setting for the plug ins im going to be doing more work with this tomorrow i work for a medical foundation that is looking at going from a blackberry server to a wm and we are going to be getting like 200 new HTC phones so i have to get this figured out as well

Just installed
I'm definitely liking this build much more so than previous ones, runs alot smoother, could use a little more free ram, but hey, it's a beta so I'm not really stressing that, I'll just use it bare bones for now to get a feel.
One of the first things I've noticed is that for some reason, running the alignment screen makes my mogul freeze up, I have to soft reset to get out of that, the default setting is accurate enough for now though so not that big of a deal at the moment, I'm not really a power user but I definitely use enough of the features to be able to give some good input...I guess more to come stay tuned....
great work, keep it coming.

Missing files for proper build
Please review Post #3 regularly. I will be posting files that I am missing to complete build 21195. I can already see there are some changes in 21195 by looking at the SYS. There are new files. If you locate any of the files in RED, please ZIP the files and post them. Once the correct files have been located, I will change the file name in post #3 to GREEN and place the member's name next to the located file. This is to ensure all those involved get credit for their efforts in building 21195.
Thanks.

ok, I have to stop playing with this, I need to have another life besides living on these 2 sites....
Anyway, as for 21193 1.2, No games ? No Voice control app ? (I know there was a newer version of the voice control app in PPCkitchen that you didn't have to train)

Don't take any offence to what I said....Exchange 2003 is still current in most companies I have worked in...
As for behind in times, I can't count how many times I have been doing work on domains (migrations, active directory issues, etc) and find old NT 4 servers and even a working Exchange 5.5 (do you remember that ? ) setup in a sub domain someplace...
Ah, blackberry to WM....fun, fun, fun.... Did you have a part of that ?

Contacts x2 and Transparency Start menu
Just wanted to see if any luck with fixes yet? Also in 21193 WMP library on mine is acting a little funny. Screen flashes some
Thanks a million for the hard work.

21198
Build 21198 XIP and SYS are being downloaded as I type. 21195 Beta 1 will be posted in the first post before I have 21198 up and going. These builds are coming pretty quick now. The word on PPCGeeks right now is that 21198 works with Exchange 2003.....off to find files and get this thing going.....and they say nothing good comes of being unemployed! Back to work, you folks are waiting.

It's been said Exchange 2003 works with 21195 now...
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showpost.php?p=797671&postcount=1695
Wow, we were just discussing last night if you wanted to drop 21193 and move on to 21195, now 21198 ? If you didn't start 21195 already, I would of said to skip over it.
I wonder what will be be here in a few days....

Is this a bug or setting ? On 1.2 21193, as we know as this point activesync with Exchange 2003 does not work. So I went into Activesync on the device and put Sync During to Manually for Peak/Off peak.
So, it's not syncing correcty what happens is every time I pull the phone out of my pocket, it's connected to the data network (it keeps trying to sync, even tho I set it to manual sync only). It atempts but does not disconnect, so it's always on.
I don't mind being connected to the internet all the time but, if I miss it and do not disconnect it, My battery goes from lasting 2 days to 4-5 hours.
I'm not kidding, when I was on 21169, my battery life was bad, really bad (I'd be charging the phone 2-3 times a day because of it), to the point where I removed the password to the data network so it would not connect to it just to get most of the day out of the battery (and it would still pop up all the time asking for the network password).
Any idea ?

I'm not sure. Like I said before, I don't even use Exchange. But at anypoint in time, you can open up the Task Manager and see ActiveSync running. Even after I manually close the app. It has been this way on every 6.5 build I have flashed to my phone. (And don't ask how many, because I haven't the slightest clue...but it's a lot of flashes.)
Yesterday when I took the boy to the zoo, I unplugged the phone at about 8:30 in the morning, and the battery lasted until 8 at night when I got back to the house. I had my data connected and AIM, Yahoo Messenger, and MSN signed in and running, and my email accounts (Live, Yahoo, and Gmail) all set to the most frequent retrieval setting. The only time during the day that I was plugged into the car charger was on my way to and from the zoo, which was about a 30 minute drive. In the beginning (21139, 21159, and 21169) I found that IE was causing a major drain on the battery. I haven't noticed it as much since IE was fixed somewhere along the way (21176 I believe.) I tested this theory by putting the IE from 21176 into 21159 Beta 5, and I got better battery life.
Anyway, I just RARed up 21195. the translation is almost complete oother than the 3 files I listed in Post #3. I am off to work on 21198 now and see what we have there. Will post with any updates. As of right now, the list in post #3 is for 21195. If I locate any files I need in 21198, I will make sure you guys can tell which build I am missing which files for in Post #3.

a bit more on exchange 2003:
i enabled verbose logging
obvious things are
User-Agent: MSFT-PPC/5.2.1003 from mr2
User-Agent: MSFT-PPC/5.2.5000 from 21193
also
MS-ASProtocolVersion: 2.5 from mr2
MS-ASProtocolVersion: 14.0 from 21193
ms-asprotocolversion 14.0?????????
i cant find that in the registry to change back to 2.5 can someone tell me what key its getting that from?

exchange 2003
ok every one that is having the connection problem
well it is simple there are 2 ways to connect and one program needed
first off you have to set up your active sync right
go to active sync and go to the tools drop down menu
go to options in there it gives you the option to add exchange
click on the Microsoft exchange and click on settings
it gives you the access to add your log on credentials
and you will be able to add your information for your server names and ip address
but remember you have to enroll your wm device before doing that
by adding it to the server and also setting the user accounts in Active D
and also needing to make sure you have your wifi set up so you can us wireless sync and you should be good to go and jsut remember if you are testing this on a live server to make sure you back up all contacts and test and e-mails before syncing and or befor you enroll in the domain that way you do no lose any thing the ver of 21193 beta 1.2 i am running has no problems syncing with exchange and is vary stable thanks to the long hrs of work from my self and tplane 37
any more questions send me a pm and i will try and help

[ROM] - 06/09/2009 - LouzeBerry - 6.1/21046 - Original TF3D + Fuzeberry

'LouzeBerry' 6.1 ROM -- Version 060909 (changelog below)
This is my latest 6.1 build. It's done with similar design choices to my 6.5 build, which is also still being maintained. Unlike the 6.5, this does include HTC Dialer and Volume, which have compatibility issues with 6.5.
It uses standard TF3D, and will until a version of TF3D2 that's more ready for prime-time shows up. Think of this like a stock ROM, minus the bloat, plus app and driver updates, plus a never system version, plus tweaks, plus little niceties (like better icons, FuzeBerry theme, Wallpapers, PSShutXP, Configurable button assignments, etc)
Getting to know this ROM:
* 6.1 Build 21046.
* TF3D STANDARD with a slightly customized FuzeBerry theme.
* Rhodium menu enhancement.
* Opera 9.5 16277, Advanced Config, Google Maps, Total Commander, Weathermaster (all uninstallable).
* HTC Album 2.5, with the social networking uploaders. I'm not crazy about the new behaviors 3.0, or about the fact that the uploaders aren't currently included in that version.
* Newer-style Comm Manager, with a 3G button and HTC settings screens for Wifi, Bluetooth and Phone.
* Available with and without HTC on-screen keyboards.
* Configurable button assignments.
* User Customization compatible.
(See further notes in next post)
Latest changelog / download
060909KB - With HTC Keyboard
060909NOKB - Without HTC Keyboard (makes installing third-party keyboard easier)
- Removed Tachi-style notifications entirely. They were bugging me. Left the cab in \windows (look for HTC Tachi ...) if you want them back.
- Nicer icons on the top bar (by Tsowen)
- NOTE: I've ID'd a conflict with HTC Keyboard's name lookup for the messaging up and Windows' own. Install this cab (originally created for a similar issue in 6.5) to disable Windows' lookup if you're on the version that includes the keyboard.
(Previous changelogs in next post)
MobileMatt, Mr. Fuzeberry himself, is now mirroring the ROM at http://www.fuzeberry.com/ (may not always be the current version).
Many thanks to Da_G for the kitchen, NRGZ28, Captain_Throwback, At0mAng for his own kitchen and patience, MobileMatt for creating Fuzeberry, and all the other usual peeps.

Important Notes:
* After first boot, go to Start --> Settings --> Connections and run Connection Setup (for some users, this may happen automatically if a program in their personal UC triggers it)
* Keyboard configured for the Fuze. Use this if you've got a non-Fuze Touch Pro.
* Removed certain redundant TF3D tabs (where functionality is duplicated elsewhere in TF3D). If you want them back, disable TF3D and unzip this to your windows folder.
* Don't like the FuzeBerry look? Dirty commie. Install this to put TF3D back to the default look. Warning: By doing this, you sacrifice super-awesomeness.
Older downloads/changelogs (see first post for most current changelog):

052909 - Without HTC Keyboard (makes installing third-party keyboard easier)
- Updated to 21046
- Comm Manager now has 3G Button
- Start Menu cleaned up
- Removed Welcome Center
- Wait cursor changed
- Minor visual tweaks & enhancements
051109KB - With HTC Keyboard
051109NOKB - Without HTC Keyboard (makes installing third-party keyboard easier).
- Initial 6.1 Build
Suggestions
This rom is pretty incredible. I was really waiting for a chef to release and completely stable yet up-to-date rom. However I do have suggestions that I would really appreciate seeing in the next release:
Organizing the start menu (The rom looks great with the theme but the start menu is super ugly)
Implementing the comm manager that allows you to disable 3G
including gps test, a flashlight program, beejive im, facebook, pimbackup, cleartemp. file explorer plus (most roms include this version), regedit
Possibly re-work some of the ugly settings icons and stuff like that
Bug:
None, as stable as they come so far.
If some of these things could be taken care of, I can't see any rom be better anytime soon. Hopefully you will take some of these suggestions but they are suggestions so keep up the work however that may be.

This rom is pretty incredible. I was really waiting for a chef to release and completely stable yet up-to-date rom. However I do have suggestions that I would really appreciate seeing in the next release:
Organizing the start menu (The rom looks great with the theme but the start menu is super ugly)
Implementing the comm manager that allows you to disable 3G
including gps test, a flashlight program, beejive im, facebook, the new notification manager, pimbackup, cleartemp. file explorer plus (most roms include this version)
Possibly re-work some of the ugly settings icons and stuff like that
Bug:
When ever I run most programs (for example advance config,ie) and I press "x" the don't end fully and need to close them with task manager.
If some of these things could be taken care of, I can't see any rom be better anytime soon. Hopefully you will take some of these suggestions but they are suggestions so keep up the work however that may be.

Running out the door, but quick answers:
Start menu clean-up is on the to-do list. That may include revising icons.
Maybe on the comm manager -- have never checked to see if it can be done on the new rhodium-style one (which lets you get deeper into settings than the old one).
New notifications are indeed included, but as explained as in post 2, you have to disable the stock-style "Large notifications" (it's in Settings-->System-->TouchFlo).
The suggested applications: Maybe some, but I prefer to keep my ROMs fairly spartan, as everyone's preferences are different (for instance, I don't personally use most of those apps), and it's easy enough for people to install their favorite apps with User Customization.
For the "bug" -- it's not a bug, it's a design choice. You can change the button behavior under Settings-->System--Task Manager (the gray one, not the one with the ekg-like reading).
Glad you're enjoying the ROM. Thanks for the suggestions.

Thanks for the quick reply. Completely forgot about the task manager setting and I always thought when people were talking about large notifications they were talking about the way it looked when you see receive a message a large box would show up . I completely understand your want for keeping the ROM lite but maybe two different versions would be really cool ( one could be lite and without keyboard, and the other one not loaded but standard). In my opinion its easier to ignore or uninstall a unnecessary program than it is to go out and find these cabs and repopulate the start menu yourself. And I want to thank you again for the quick reply and for being polite on my oversight about the notifications and notifications .

Some people probably are talking about that with the large notifications. I keep referring to the stock ones that way because the actual package in the kitchen is "Enlarge Title Bar." I'll revise Post No. 2 to be clearer.
Edit: Oh, and I just confirmed in my test -- you can still enable that 3G Button for the comm manager via Advanced Config (it's one of the "more settings" options. You just have to pick which existing button you want to get rid of.
Flashed this yesterday. This is seriously good stuff!!
I like it that you've made a lot of uninstallable stuff on this ROM unlike most of the other chefs who pile a lot of stuff but a lot of is useless, at least to me.
I'll be trying your WM6.5 next!
Keep up the good work!
Best rom (and have tested almost everything , only thing, I would think that "Getting Started" is something you could remove, as anyone flashing roms should already have got started

Agreed - there's a few things that I left over in there accidentally that I'd usually omit, but nothing that seemed worth doing a new build just to take them out. Will probably be removed from the next version.
New build up. Updated to 21046
Excellent work!!
I think you may very well be the most under acknowledged chef here in the Raphael Rom Dev. I havent posted lately but Ive actually played with all of these roms here and used many of the other chefs roms back when they were cooking for kaisers. I have been flashing and testing ur roms(both 6.5 and 6.1) for a couple months now along with the other chefs here and, not to take anything away from the more popular chefs here, yours have been the most stable and compatible with my device(ATT FUZE). 6.5 is great but im not thrilled with the change in start menu or other little incompatibilities at this point. However, ur 6.1 builds have offered no forming bugs(dailer, messaging, settings etc...); i dont experience excessive device heat when on long calls or using gps; and have had pretty decent battery life. And as Ive said all you chefs offer excellent roms; gotta love the flair and latest NRG brings and definately the completeness and dedication of Arrups roms. I did notice something that may have gotten overlooked with the urge of chefs to cook the latest builds and leave previous behind and that is the battery life and functionality of the original 5.08 20771 after being cooked up without bloatware etc. Im not sure if u have one but NRG actually had a 1.6 rom that was superb with one slight bug in the messaging which is the only reason i do not use it to date as i text a lot. Now dont get me wrong the batter life on this 21046 is good but doesnt compare to 20771. So im not sure if im making a suggestion or request but i do enjoy ur roms and have settled in with this one as my everyday rom until an official 6.5 is released but I dont cook and would love a stable updated 20771 other than the bloated march 1st test release(ive got that). Well, hats off and thank you for your most excellent roms.
Best Regards,
Phantom
Phantom -- Thanks for the kind words.
The reason the ROM is so stable is that I don't do all that much to customize it -- and the things I am doing, I've had some time to tweak and fix. I'm still learning as a chef, but I've tried to only expand and customize the ROM in ways that I'm sure I understand what the implications are. Some other chefs prefer to push the envelope a bit more -- which can mean some great features and enhancements in their ROMs, but also may mean risking complications. So most of the credit for what's good about mine really goes to Da_G for the great kitchen, and to the others involved in creating it. I'm just the guy who's treading carefully.
As far as creating a 20771 -- it's not on my agenda right now, but I never say never. Life's pretty busy at the moment, with some work complications, but I'll keep the request in mind.
Hi WordSmith, just flashed your latest ROM, the Start Menu looks much nicer and neater now and almost as perfect as I'd do it if I did it myself. *thumbs up*
Anyway I just realised that the nbh file became much bigger at 142mb as compared to the 051109 version, which was only 127mb. You added a lot more stuff into this 052909 version that a noob like me didn't notice?
Yahoo mail
I like this Rom. But i have a problem. I cannot set up my Yahoo mail. When I go to Menu -> Accounts -> New Accounts. It goes to outlook email. Can someone help me set up my Yahoo mail. Nice ROM Thnx

I'm not quite sure what you'd expect it to do differently. Any mail account is an outlook account, i nthe sense that outlook is the program being used for it. But you can still set up POP3 and IMAP4 accounts in Outlook. I don't use Yahoo Mail -- is it set up as one of those, or do you normally do something different. Am I just misunderstanding something about your post? Have you had it working on other ROMs, and if so, what was different?
Email
Every Rom I flashed, I always setup my Yahoo mail. I always go to program email set up. Im not using outlook email, I used Yahoo. I'm trying to look for an email steup cab. Anyways, Thnx for your quick reply. I love this Rom.

Still just not quite understanding what you're asking. When you say you set up your yahoo mail, what are you setting it up with, if not outlook? Where I'm getting confused is that Outlook is the program, but Yahoo is the provider -- so to say you're using Yahoo instead of outlook throws me off, as you can/would use yahoo -with- outlook. Links to "E-mail" and "Messaging" in Windows Mobile are links to the Outlook application.
That is, unless you're usually setting it up in a different e-mail program (one that doesn't come standard with Windows Mobile), or unless yahoo offers some specialty e-mail program for windows mobile that I don't know about (it could for all I know; i don't use yahoo myself).
Were the other ROMs you used using TF3D2? I have limited experience with TF3D2, but I know there's an HTC-created e-mail setup wizard that appears on some ROMs (not sure offhand if this is part of TF3D2 or independent of it; I've never used it). It could be that you're used to that, and that it walks you through the setup for Yahoo mail.
In any case, when you go to set up an e-mail account, the first thing it should ask you is for your e-mail address. I'm 99% sure that if you give it a yahoo address, it will recognize that it knows Yahoo as a provider, and simplify the rest of the wizard to set up your Yahoo account in Outlook. Don't have the 6.1 ROM on the phone right now or a Yahoo account yo test with, but I'd be very surprised if that didn't work.
Hope that helps. If it doesn't, please try to provide some more specifics about what you mean when you say you set it up with yahoo, not outlook.
My problem is How to configure my email account. When I try to setup new email account it always go to Messaging inbox. I click
Menu-> Tools-> New Account. Then it will just go to messaging Inbox. I cannot set up new email account.
Email
I flashed your LouzeBerry - 6.5/21222 Rom & try to setup / configure my yahoo mail, It works fine. I think the 6.1 Rom has a problem in configuring the new email account. Thnx for this Rom, very fast.

[APP][29.09.2009] TrineFix 2.1.8, utility for PIM data (fix duplicates, FileAs++)

[EDIT 29.09.2009]
Updated to version 2.1.8...future versions are planned to be released on Marketplace.
Note...99% of issues with "crashing on startup" is because people either have not installed .Net 3.5, or they have not rebooted their phones after installing .Net 3.5!
And one last thing, we will watch this thread, so feel free to ask for features, enhancements...we might add it in future versions on Marketplace.
Will update here when new version is on Marketplace with info about what is improved. ...it will most likely take a while before it is available...we are still in process of getting our account at Microsoft...
TrineFix is a utility that will fix a lot of issues you might have with your PIM data (Contacts, Appointments and Tasks)...and is you have no "issues" with PIM data, it still can be a benefit to easily do a cleanup with TrineFix (getting rid of very old appointments and so forth).
Duplicate contacts or appointments, FileAs on your contacts not as you like it, missing country codes, or not the format you want it to be!? TrineFix will fix it for you!

And if you sync with Outlook on your PC (or to a work server with Exchange), you will naturally get those data fixed on next sync too.
I have used it myself to fix my Outlook data at work...since my workphone syncs with my jobs Exchangeserver, so all fixes are applied at my work PC seconds later.
"Preview, manually correct, then apply the fix"
There are other applications that do much of the same, but TrineFix lets you always preview the data that will be affected, and even select/unselect individual items quickly, to give you full control.
Touchscreen, non-touchscreen, QVGA, VGA, WVGA, 320x320...
An another fairly unique feature of TrineFix is that it will adjust itself to different device types. If you have a smartphone, the buttons are smaller (since they do not need to be fingerfriendly), if you got a device with touchscreen the buttons are larger. If you have a touchscreen and no hardwarekeyboard, the software keyboard will show automatically when needed (option you can turn on/off under preferences). There are more, but I guess you are getting the point! ;-)
Some of the features in this version (2.0)
Duplicates (app, con)
You decide what fields should be compared (for example you might want to see all contacts that has similar names only)
Auto-remove exact duplicates, and get a preview of "near matches", and decide which instance to keep for these near matches
FileAs (con)
In Outlook you can set FileAs (ie. "Firstname Lastname", "Lastname, Firstname"...) differently per contact. I prefer to have them all the same, and TrineFix can set it as you wish for all your contacts in one go.
Country codes (con)
Change the formatting of countrycode on all your phonenumbers ("+1", "001", "(+1)", "(001)"...).
Add a default country code (your home country normally) to all phonenumbers that have no country code defined
Bulk deletes (app, con, tsk)
Get a list of all appointments, contacts or tasks that has a specific keyword/characters in them, and quickly uncheck/check all or some of these and delete. Might sound complex, but it sure ain't when you do it in TrineFix!
Built-in version check and download feature
TrineFix now has same built in version check as all TrineSeries applications, so you get a hint when there is a newer version, with info about whats changed/improved since the version you have, and let's you download and install cab directly from the application
Truly finger friendly (no small buttons or menus)
Keyboard friendly (we do not leave poor Smartphone owners behind, do everything with the keyboard if you want to
DISCLAIMER
We have tested TrineFix a lot and everything works great in all our tests.
...but you should still for safeties sake, take a backup of all your PIM data before you use TrineFix, just in case... ;-)
You can for example use PIM Backup (http://www.dotfred.net/) which is free, and does exactly what it says!
Feedback
This is what this forum is for, let us know if something you want is missing, something works great, or heay if something plainly sucks, whatever...I think we can take it!
TrineFix...what a weird name!?
If you think the name "TrineFix" is weird...well, it's the name of my girlfriend (who has helped out with all my apps btw), and the reason I made this program when she got a problem while syncing with several PC's, and ended up with a LOT of duplicates, and it drove her mad...so I made an app that fixed Trines problem...ergo "TrineFix"...and later "TrineSeries"! So now you know the store behind the weird naming!
And her name is not pronounced "trayn" (like they did in the MsMobiles podcast...it made us both laugh ), but more "treeneh"...ok...diffucult to explain...it sounds nice in Norwegian at least!
Where's the scrollbars!?
Scrollbars are NOT shown as default, but you can turn that on under Preferences (Auto/Off). I have them off as default, since I think the scrollbars in WM are "ugly"...ok...I am crazy, I know! :-D
New versions
TrineFix will on startup check against our webserver if there is a new version available, this chech is done on a seperate thread and is very light on datatrafic (approx 40-50 characters/bytes).
Below are screenshots showing what you would see if you upgraded from 2.0.1 to 2.0.2 for example...

All texts are in english, no special service for the Frenchies I am afraid! :-(
But heay, I am norwegian, and have given no special services for us either!
We are making a couple of more applications here, and all the new ones will be "international"...enough of "norwegian apps". But the existing/old ones we have currently for "norwegians only" are using local webservices and so forth, that are really only usefull in Norway.
But enough excuses...we will support the (english speaking) Frenchies from now on! :-D
And thanks for the nice words, we will do our best!

Rolled out version 2.0.1 now, could not reproduce the exact problem, but did a enhancement in the "detect country code of phonenumber" part of my code...hope that cured it!
If not, the next one who experiences the same, great if you could PM me with phonenumber before and after fix...so I can reproduce the same issue in my end, and squash the bug for good!
Made a small enhancement at the same time, the menu where you select the type of formatting you want for countrycodes ("+1", "001"...) now will show examples with the countrycode that you last selected as default country...making the explanation on the menubuttons slightly more relevant for the user.
I am going away until sunday on my brothers bachelor party tomorrow (hope my brother does not frequent XDA, so I will not be able to do any fixes or replies until sunday evening.
"PrincessTrine" will monitor the thread the next 1.5 days, and reply as best as she can though!
Great management application ... tnx for the hard work of making such one.

Any plans to add a "edit before dial" feature? This is a feature found on most Nokia and Sony Ericsson phones but not on WM. It's so frustrating.

Could you explain a little how that works, since I haven't seen that...and maybe we will add it...just need to know what it IS first!
[EDIT]
Feel free to describe how YOU (and others can do the same) would LIKE such a functionality to work. So we can get better idea of the issues one tries to solve with this.
I presume, from the sound of it, that it has something todo with "editing a number before dialing it"!?
Tried too google it, but better to get a description from people who actually have seen it in action, and a short description of how people then would like something like this on their WM phone.
[EDIT2]
From reading this http://blog.jake.net/2009/06/01/edit-before-dialing-please/ article on the web...it seems like it really can be solved with just using +44 (meaning "+" and "countrycode") as countrycode prefix and no "(0)" / "0" in the number:
The number should be written either 020 7123 1234 (with the country prefix assumed) or +44 207 123 1234.
..or am I misinterperating the article and the issue.
Sorry the questions...quess I just need to calm down here...and wait patiently for some input here...!? :-D

Too anyone wondering...I am using a WM 6.5 EnergyROM on my TouchPro which the screenshots were from. And me think NRGZ28 is tha man (or tha gal) behind that excellent ROM!
I am a bit off topic here in my own thread, so I will quit the off topic right HERE.
Will it work with syncing with my PC and its Groupwise?
It seems as though this would work with my Palm Treo Pro (running Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional) when syncing using the USB sync to my PC for my Groupwise PIM data, even when it is running my Google apps, especially the calendar. (I had a lot of duplicates showing up when I tried to run the Google apps, using CompanionLink and thus quit trying it. I would love it if your utility would fix those problems whether across the USB connection or live across the wireless instant sync.) Will it indeed do well with this kind of setup?
Sorry for all the detail, but I wanted to make sure that I gave all of the correct info.
Thank you....
Just installed it... works - thank you!

Since I have not used Google apps, Groupwise, or CompanionLink, I can not say for sure. But since TrineFix will apply changes to contacts, appointments and tasks on your device, ANY sync program that syncs changes made on your device, would work fine.
Take a backup with PIM Backup, try it out...since it "should" work fine!
If not, I would like to know a little about what does not work as expected, and maybe I can add extra options/features to the duplicate-searches for example.
And no need to appologise for the amount of details...details is always good, that's my motto!
EazyVG & MichelDiamond,
Glad you liked it!

No one has reported whether it works or does not work with regular UC, but there should be no reason for it not to, since it does not replace any files.
I install through XDA_UC everytime I flash a ROM.
How to Install the new version.

You must use this Exit menu to automatically restart TouchFLO 3D or HTC Sense.
This is why it was moved to the Left Soft Menu.
Version 3.4
Almost identical to 3.4, so I am not recapturing and uploading tonight.

Known Issues
Some users have reproted that this does not install well when flashing a a new ROM and using UC. Just do a normal install after flashing and all will work.
For some version of Sense, such as the new updated Verizon ROM, the country table was removed. There is a post that has a modified file with the country table added back in.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=5319984&postcount=363
For users of Sense, where the _alias columns were added, accect characters should not be used for city or country. Just use ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ and abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz.
For Russian users, just don't use accent characters, I don't know the Russian alphebet or Russian.
I noticed today, that it did not actually stop HTC Sense. I think it may have been related to the Home Screen Timeout. I have now unchecked that box. I'll have to try it in a few days to see if that clears it up.
I recommend a soft reset before runnning for the first time.
Realistically, with Windows Mobile in general, it's probably a good idea to soft reset everyday even though it's alot better.
FAQ
Will this work for my Rom?
If the ROM uses Manila 2.1 or Manila 2.5, and now Sense 2.5, this will let you edit the database file.
Energy ROM works without modification.
If it works with your ROM and it is not listed here, please post. I will update this page.
Could someone please read through the posts of this thread and make a consolidated list.
This entry is put into the registry:
Code:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\HTC\Manila\Weather.ServerURLOverride=h[URL="http://weather.not2advanced.com/htcweather/forecastdata.php?ac=XDADevs&locCode=%25ls&version= 1&device=innovation"]ttp://weather.not2advanced.com/htcweather/forecastdata.php?ac=XDADevs&locCode=%25ls&version= 1&device=innovation[/URL]
If it did not originally work with your ROM and you did something not mentioned to make it work, please post and I will add it here.

Updated 1/5/2011 at about 1:00 AM as JVH3_WeatherCityEditor_v3.6.CAB
Added Accuweather code lookup within the app.
Fixed targt location of shortcut to Start Menu\Programs so it is in the right spot/
Fixed Name of shortcut, so it has spaces.
Removed conflipper's weather server as an option, since it is no longer a registered website.
Updated 3/15/2010 at 9:00 PM as JVH3_WeatherCityEditor_v3.5.CAB
Added ability to pick Conflipper weather server.
Changed icon.
Added support for ROMs that don't have a country table. (Need someone with the updated Verizon ROM that has not applied a previous fix to test this.)
Added ability to add a custom server. (Backup and restore don't work for this setting yet.)
Updated 1/4/2010 at 9:45 PM as JVH3_WeatherCityEditor_v3.4.CAB
Fixed issue with Restore. Version 3.3 only worked when restoring from the storage card.
Fixed issue with Enabling Backup and Restore immediately after setting the location for backup and restore.

Backup and Restore now also backs up and restores the list of cities selected on the weather tab.
Version name updated to 3.0 and the CAB is given a new name.
It will shut down and restart HTC Sense and TouchFLO 3D.
Update 11/1/2009

Update 10/31/2009 at about 10:30 PM CST
Added support for Sense 2.5 version 1920 and higher.
Sense 2.5 1919 was supported originally, because the database was the same as Manila TFL3D version 2.5
Shortcut on Start Menu is now Weather City Editor instead of Weather_City_Editor so it word wraps better.
Update 9/01/2009 at about 12:25 AM CST
Fixed issue where the original backup might be readonly
Automatic start and stop of TFL3D
No longer need to make a backup immediately after install to edit. (still a good practice though).
Update 8/23/2009 at about 11:45 PM CST
Added backup and restore.
no longer replace the manila file on install.
create shortcut on install in the Start Menu.
Gave the program an icon.
Update 8/14/2009 at about 11:45 PM CST
Created new cab for the PPC version that has the corrected TimeZones.db file in it. Didn't make any additional changes since the last post.
Update 8/14/2009 at about 7:30 PM CST
Hotfix posted for Venezuala, Mexico, and some other countries. See post #60 for the download.
Update 8/14/2009 at about 3:30 PM CST
I have put a CAB file up to do the install.
I have only tested this by installing to the device, not to storage card.
Back up your manila file if you have already added cities.
I replace it with the default with the install to handle the readonly issue that some experienced.
Also, this adds the registry entry to use the URL.
I still need to add an icon for it.
Update 8/14/2009 at about 1AM CST
I just uploaded a release version of my Windows Mobile App to Edit Manila 2.1 Weather Cities. This handles updates, adds, deletes, and copies.
My unit tests have all worked successfully.
Update 2 for 8/13/2009
Pulled the original Mobile PPC Beta release and put a new on up.
Only one person had downloaded it and this filters the city list by state to speed the load up.
Updated 8/13/2009
Uploaded a mobile version [Beta]. Install is still manual.
Must manually shut down TFL3D before running.
You can add and delete with it.
Copy the exe and the 2 dlls to a folder, maybe create a folder WeatherEdit under Program Files.
Then copy TimeZones.db to the windows folder.
(You will fisrt have to copy it to your device and then copy it with total commander or some other tool.)
Create a shortcut to the exe.
And your ready to go.
It's a little slow (not too bad though) populating all the US cities. I'll add a combo box for state in the next version.
Updated 8/12/2009
Added drop down list to pick the timezone.
Drop down list will show the timezone for the row selected in the grid.
Made the msid and offset columns readonly, since they are now set with the drop down.
Updated 8/10/2009
I have put version 1.1 here.
It fixes some issues with the new city not appearing immediately.
It also reduces the size of the manila file by calling the sqlite method vacuum.
It now immediately promts for the filename.
And it has a name and an about box.
Added a link for help, but have not done that yet.

I spent last night writing a simple program to edit the Manila 2.1 Cities.
It works and I originally posted it in the thread for Energy ROM Raphael, because that is what I am using.
Planned Features
Do not allow duplicate city creation.
Ability to change weather server URL. There is a weather server URL by conflipper that works. Also I would like to add the ability to manually enter one.
Ability to reorder the selected cities.
Ability to add a Country.
Ability to set a default Country, and State.
Remove City from selected cities if a city is deleted, or disallow the deletion.
Set and reorder selected cities.
Backup and Restore Settings.
Use code to get the name of storage card, so users of non english ROMs don't need to pick it before backup and restore.
Hopefuls:
Use web connection to lookup timezone and accuweather code.
Store Original, Added, Deleted, and Updated cities in seperate files to allow backup and restore between versions and allows restore to default.
Add ability to delete multiple rows. (Maybe)
Hello JVH3!
I have tested your app with my diamond with manila 2.1...
i can add cities without problems, find them in the list and can add them.
Manila works without problems(no "hang up" or somthing like that) but the weather gets not updatet (No weather data available) in the added cities...

The cities I have added have worked. Did you correctly enter the AccuWeatherCode?
Did the AccuWeatherCode you put in work in Manila 2.0?
Some others in the energy ROM thread have used it successfully as well. I would double check the accuweather code.
Could you tell me one city you are trying to add and what country it is in?
And what code you have entered for the AccuWeatherCode for it?
I'd like to see if I can reproduce the issue.
I have used it in both NRG roms 20090806 and 20090809 and it updates well. No problems at all as a matter of fact.

I suppose I should name it and put that in the title bar and maybe give it an icon too. I started this on Saturday and worked straight through until I had something functional, which was late Saturday / early Sunday. I was kind of tired, and figured the window dressing could wait. Next release will have all that.
Thanks for finding that city code and testing it with the Energy ROM.

Does that Rom have this registry entry:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\HTC\Manila\Weather.ServerURLOverride =
"http://weather.not2advanced.com/htcweather/forecastdata.php?ac=XDADevs&locCode=%25ls&version= 1&device=innovation"
The double quotes are not actualy a part of it, but in order to make the forum not treat it as a link I had to put double quotes around it.
There is no space in ServerURLOverride. I'm not sure where it is coming from, but it is not visible when editing.
This is what is in the Energy ROM.
I have tryied with French Rhodium Rom Stock and it doesn't run.
The city can be selected but can't be updated. An error occur saying that it is not possible to update this city. Also the other cities were updated.
Code is :
EUR|FR|FR012|RAMBOUILLET

I just tested this city with the Energy ROM from 8/6 and it worked fine. Sunny and 81 degrees Fahrenheit. Cloudy tomorrow.
Check to see if you have the registry entry I mentioned in my previous post:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\HTC\Manila\Weather.ServerURLOverwrride
I'm thinking some weather server URLs limit the cities that they support.
The Weather Master 2.2 used to set this registry entry for you.
Can you post the archive 2330fc3c_manila but without any register, becaus i want to clear all, and i selected all and click delete city but only erase one, and i die if i need to erase one each time, thanks for the work.

Here you go. I zipped it up and attached it. Turns out this did find a bug. At least 1 city must be in the database. So I have left 1 place holder city in this.
You probably will need to add some real cities before putting this onto your phone.
Also, since you won't have reference to the msid and offset in this file, make sure to get that from the original file. I plan to have a drop down for this at some point where you just pick your timezone and don't need to know the offset or the msid.
If you don't put the correct offset and msid in, you will have issues with the world clock.
Initially I noticed there was not much different in the filesize. I found there is a cleanup method in sqliteadmin that greatly reduced the filesize after I was done. I will be looking into making this happen from within the program in the next release. This barebones file is only 24KB, compared with about 1MB.
Thanks for your answer.
Even if i've modified the weather server (tested correctly with stock countrys) i can't upload weather for new cities.
This is not the first thread in this forum talking about possibility to add weather cities, and none of them run's in my french stock rom. Don't konw what's wrong with it.
One more time thanks at all for your sotfware and your efforts.

[ROM|KITCHEN][WWE][05.08.10]Melissa[21887 - NO Manila - NO Titanium][KITCHEN Release]

*******I WILL NOT BE WORKING ON THIS PROJECT ANYMORE*******
I am getting my Samsung Captivate tomorrow afternoon, so I will be getting rid of my Pure, which means I will not be updating this project anymore. Luckily for those of you that like this ROM, I am releasing the kitchen. Be advised, this kitchen is over 300 MB, probably because it is in a mess, but you should be able to simply extract it and open osKitchen.
Thanks to everyone who participated in the testing of this ROM. I hope someone will continue this project (under a new name, of course ) and continue to work on making this ROM super small and super fast.
Goodbye, Windows Mobile.
Hello, Android on my super duper AMOLED 4" multi-touch screen! (Well.. tomorrow, but close enough )
Find the kitchen download in post #2.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
This ROM is a project I have been working on, and continue to work on each day. I call it Melissa, after my wife. She likes the simple things in life, and that's what this ROM includes.
The ROM comes without the extra software you find in most other ROMs for the Topaz.
There is no Titanium or Manila in this ROM. The only Today screen available is the default one.
Phone Information on first boot (After initial reset):
12MB Page Pool
Storage Free - > 250 MB

Please feel free to post any comments, suggestions, criticisms, etc., but also please keep in mind that this will be a basic, simple ROM.. Only the bare essentials will be included in it.
Thanks for having a look!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
By the way, the images on this page are linked to my website, which I will gladly setup an FTP account for someone if they would like to continue to use my website to provide new releases of this ROM. Anyone interested should contact me via PM, because though I don't plan to leave XDA (I just plan to switch forums..), I may not check back with this thread once the kitchen is completely uploaded.
This ROM requires HardSPL 2.51
It works on my phone, but I will not take responsibility if it crashes your phone.
Please follow the flashing guidelines found here.

Will you share your kitchen?
And you are welcome to use my mirror, you can upload directly to it. Just let me know if you want to.

Thank you! I was thinking the same thing.. The reason I am building this ROM in this fashion is because I'm tired of bloat-ware.. Usually, chefs build ROMs to get rid of bloat-ware that the phone companies add to try to get you to pay for more stuff... (Copilot, trialware, etc..)
The only problem is, most of the custom ROMs out today have just as much bloat-ware in them.. And things like GoogleMaps, Bing, etc.. All get updates eventually, and when we update a ROM that has it already installed in \windows, we end up with double the space used up because it's already cooked into the ROM..
So I'm just trying to clean things up. I'm not bashing any other ROMs out there. Many of them are awesome! I just want people to be able to sort of.. build their own awesome ROM without the ROM already having the bloat-ware in it.. If they want the bloat-ware, let them install it!

To be honest, I am using 23541 because it is running very stable for me. If you can recommend a stable SYS/XIP that is newer and has features you'd like to see, please feel free!

I do plan to share my kitchen eventually... I just want to take some time with getting people to test the ROM and comment so that everyone can get the most out of it rather than everyone doing their own thing and not sharing.. But yes, I do intend on sharing the kitchen eventually.

I do not mind using your mirror at all. Maybe I can setup my program to allow the users to choose the closest mirror for downloading the different apps. I'm going to set it up to use my hosting account first, though.. I get over 1MBps when I download files from my website, and I have 'unlimited' storage/bandwidth, but it would be nice to have a mirror that is closer to some other people as well.
I just wanted to give everyone an update on this ROM's status.
Currently, I am working on developing the different packages for the ROM so users will be able to install pretty much anything.. (Manila.. 2.1/2.5, WiFi Router, Gsensor, etc..)
I have a bit of testing to do for each package, and a lot of hard-resetting to do before I'll be ready to post the ROM.. But the base ROM seems very stable, and everything is running fast and smooth so far..
Some things that will work immediately after flashing are:
Phone
Alarm
Internet
GPS (not Assisted)
ActiveSync Direct Push
Bluetooth
WiFi
I'm looking to have the ROM ready for testing by the middle of next week.. (Work has slowed me down a bit.)
Feel free to post any thoughts about what you'd like to see in the base ROM.
looking forward to see this one

Text messaging will work too.
MMS, however, will require the installation of a package.
Thanks for pointing out that I missed that.
As for Media Player.. Something in that package is required to make the MP3 Ringtones work.. Once I get a chance, I will make that package absolutely minimal to make the MP3s work, and remove Windows Media Player itself.. (Media Player 12, I believe that's the current version, can be installed separately for those who will want it.)
Please keep coming up with ideas for minimizing this ROM.. I've currently got the free storage memory up to over 400 MB after flashing.
Also, any registry tweaks that you'd like to see (GDI, Caching, etc..) Please feel free to post them here as well!
I've pretty much got the basic ROM done, and am working on the package setup procedures.. Once I get a good set of packages ready.. (Specifically Manila 2.1/2.5, HTC's Youtube, GSensor, etc..) I'll be releasing the ROM for testing purposes.
After I release this ROM, I may look to others for assistance with further development of the current EXT packages in the HTC build.. Then, we can also look to developing packages for third party configurations of those packages.. (Max Manila... and stuff like that) and other 3rd party applications not found in the EXT packages.. (Throttle Launcher/Lock, TouchXperience when it's released, etc..)
I'm looking at around Wednesday of next week for first test release. That's March 31st.
Sounds good so far. I will try it as soon as its available.

NEON 400 Windows Mobile 6.5 ROM

For NEON 400 users only!
Please do not even consider flashing this rom unless your device is a NEON 400. That's the Canadian Telus/Bell version of the HTC Touch Dual. If you don't know how to find out the model number... then I suggest you do some more reading before you consider flashing any roms.
Hey All,
My old phone died so I recently became the proud owner of the HTC Touch Dual NEON 400. Long story short I unlocked it (Thanks to jockyw2001) and found that there are no Chefs out there with this device. There's a couple dedicated dudes out there trying to help all of us NEON 400 users (Talking about you Rataplan, deepankerjha), but since they don't actually have this device it's pretty tough for them to prepare and test a rom for us.
So, I took the plunge. With Rataplan's help (thanks a lot buddy, couldn't have gotten this far without you're help) I've been cooking away and have a solid WM 6.5 ROM here for us. It's based on the Telus stock ROM and WM 6.5 build 21914. I haven't yet cleared all the extra's (so it's a bit fat) but in my testing so far it's 100% functional and bug free (well, as bug free as WM can be )
I can't guarantee how well it'll work on the Bell NEON 400's, but if you have a Telus device, this should do the trick. I'm using it right now on mine.
Please leave feedback if you try this ROM out. I am still a novice chef, but I'll take feedback to heart, and I'll continue cooking and optimizing roms for the NEON 400 as I learn more and get better.
Happy Flashing!
I'll post updates as they come.
UPDATE:
Sorry all, but in my quest to migrate to the Android OS I've ditched my Neon in favour of the Vogue. I'll upload the Lite ROM I was working on for those who want it. The only thing I was having trouble with was the GPS, apart from that the ROM runs very nicely with the extra weight of the cube and other fat removed. Feel free to PM me if you have questions, I'll do my best to help if I can.
Give me a few days to do a fresh build of the Lite ROM and to take one more stab at getting the GPS working.
Okay my final roms are up. Hopefully Rataplan will have the links posted below shortly.
Lite Version: 1.01 - 1.03
-WM 6.5 Build 21914
-TouchFlo Cube removed
-A bunch of other bundled HTC/Telus packages removed
-GPS is still flaky
Version: 2.01
-WM 6.5 Build 21914
-Nothing removed, All stock HTC and Telus packages remain
EDIT I can't post links just yet, so Rataplan's going to help me out with that, check his post below for the download links.
Here are the links:
NEON400_201 Added 19th August
NEON400_Lite_101 Added 9th November
NEON400_Lite_102 Added 9th November
NEON400_Lite_103 Added 9th November
Loaded on my Bell NEON400. Took a while to get to setup and made a few bleeps along the way, now it's at the "Customization" part. Will update as I finish setup and test it out.
EDIT: Finished installation, looks pretty good, will test calling and texting as we go. Any chance we can strip the Telus crap out of it though? Hate seeing "Telus" everywhere when it's not even a Telus phone.
EDIT 2: Trying to set up ActiveSync to sync with my Google Account - it freezes every so often for a short while and won't respond to taps or key presses. Seems to be common in all applications. Also, the keys operate but the backlight never turns on for them (disregard that - they do work, see Edit 4).
EDIT 3: Hitting the X to close a window doesn't kill the app like it did in WM 6.1. Not sure if this normal behaviour or not (first time flasher).
EDIT 4: After a reboot the key backlight is working again. When I try changing the keyboard however to a full QWERTY layout the setting never saves and always reverts to the "touch keypad" or whatever it is (same problem in WM 6.1 so it's a setting issue not a ROM issue - disregard please).
If you could get rid of the Telus branding everywhere and see what's up with the freezing this ROM would be perfect!
Nice job.
got_milk, Thanks for testing on your Bell device. Like I said in the post I wasn't sure what to expect on a Bell phone. I'm working on a lite version right now with the Telus stuff stripped out. I'm also trying to remove the added weight from HTC like the touchflo cube (I really hate that thing...)
I've noticed the problem with the X button not closing apps. It seems in WM 6.5 it just sort of minimizes them. Although if I recall there's a setting somewhere that lets you set it so you can close an app by holding the X instead of just tapping it. I'll look into that some more.
In regards to the responsiveness one thing I've noticed is that when memory is low I sometimes have to tap and hold the buttons for a moment before they register. I initially thought it just wasn't reading the hits but found by accident that I could make it work by holding it for an extra moment. Hopefully this won't be a problem once I get my Lite version working.
I highly recommend downloading and installing Finger Keyboard. It's my favourite by far. I can't post links yet, but the thread where I found it is titled:
\\\\\\\\\ F i n g e r K e y b o a r d 2 ///////// v2.1 - NOW ONLINE - all resolutions
One other thought: If you could hook me up with the ROM you're using as the stock Bell ROM I could recreate this 6.5 ROM using it as the base. This might solve some of your problems too.
Thanks again for testing!
Not a problem, thank you more for doing this! I really hate how we're limited to WinMo 6.1, when we clearly have a 6.5 capable device.
I'm using the stock Bell ROM from jockyw2001's HardSPL post (stickied at the top of this forum).
Looking forward to the lite edition, I will certainly test it when you release it.
So, I couldn't stay away (Software Engineering student...lol). I set up my own kitchen and started to cook using a stock Bell ROM. I've managed to strip all the Bell crap + the HTC cube and make a nice clean ROM.
However!
I've encountered one bug so far. On the home screen, where "Text" should be, it's simply blank and clicking it gets me to the main Outlook menu (where I choose Text Messages or Outlook E-mail). I can also not create text messages or reply to them. I know we've hit this roadblock before but no one's said how they got around it.
I also don't have data working at all - it's not being configured automatically (I think the Bell customization wizard does this, but it's disabled).
EDIT: Okay, it's as I suspected. There's a connection.xml file that's part of the Bell scripts that is added to handle data access. Anyone know how I can add data as part of the ROM package?
For sms take a look at this post from 88fingerslukee,

Regards,
That registry edit is just enabling/disabling threaded SMS...in my case SMS doesn't work at all (I can receive and view SMS') but I can't create any new ones or reply to them.

Okay, did you select webview in the sys-part of your kitchen.

Yes, it's essential anyway so I get prompted if it's not included. It's not part of WM build 21914 however...
So I've tried with a bunch of different WM builds, new kitchen setups, and everything I can think of under the sun.
Data works out of the box - it's just not enabled by default. If you go into the comm manager and enable data it seems to work.
SMS is still broken. When it's not highlighted right above the text 'Text' it displays 'No notif...'. Highlighting 'Text' gives you absolutely no text at all and your option for that is 'View', which takes you to your call list.
I've cooked all day and yet I cannot get this to work at all. I'm rolling back to WM 6.1 until I can find a solution.

got_milk, way to go bud! Glad to have another new chef in the kitchen. I wont bother cooking a Bell ROM as you're already on track. My Lite ROM is gonna be a while anyway. Between wife, kids, job, and house... I just don't have a whole lot of time to tinker.
In regards to your SMS problem, I might be able to help. I too had problems getting SMS to work when I started working on my Lite ROM. After some trial and error what I found fixed it was to include two files from the OEMAPPS pkg.
Strip out all the crap from OEMAPPS you don't want and make sure that these two files remain, then include the package in your next build:
234f3319-55a2-46a3-be32-24530a643a0f.dsm
234f3319-55a2-46a3-be32-24530a643a0f.rgu
I'll be honest, I didn't do any research on the significance of these files, I just happened upon it by chance.
Good Luck!
Aha! I shall do another cook tonight and see if that does the trick.
EDIT: You sir, are a brilliant genius. I didn't have the .rgu version but the .dsm was there. Deleted everything out of OEMAPPS but that, cooked and flashed, and texting works now.
Thanks a ton!
Excellent! Glad I could help
So, my two bugs I've noticed so far...
No data. EV-DO is available, looks like it has to be set up manually. Anyone know how we can incorporate this into the cooking? I've tried ADC but it doesn't work, says it's not a valid Pocket PC application every time the phone boots up.
Also, the buttons along the top (sound, data, etc) work normally in the home screen, but enter any app and while the icons remain the same their functions have now been shifted one to the left. (Volume becomes Close, Data becomes Volume, etc).
When I first started a Lite ROM I stripped my Operator EXT packages. That killed my data. I put'em back to work on the OEM pkg's. I haven't had time to dissect the EXT packages yet to find the pieces we need for data. Whichever one of us figures that out first will have to share it with the other
For now I'm still picking through the OEM packages finding all the pieces I want/need to keep.
Not sure about your taskbar buttons, might be related to that handy tasks dropdown item that's usually on the far right (like a quickview task manager you can use to close running apps) I don't know if that's a WM feature, or something HTC bundled in.
That's an HTC bundled application (TaskManager.exe in OEMApps). I removed it and the bug's still there. You don't have this problem?
Data is handled via Connection.xml which is injected - somehow - during the "Customization" process. You CAN do it yourself manually - simply add a new connection and have it dial #777.
There's not much in the EXT packages - and what's there is impossible to tell for now, I'll dissect more and see what's there.
Strange, when I hit any of the buttons along that top taskbar it just opens up a bubble with icons for each of the options available, and then select an item from the bubble. Individually the icons along the top don't actually do anything for me, they all just open this bubble.
Right, which is the normal behaviour - it's when you actually select an icon from that bubble that everything appears to have shifted one position to the left.
Try it at the home screen and then in an application.
Also, looks like data is handled via "Connection.xml" which is placed inside the Windows folder (I'm back to stock 6.1 to check file locations). If I try to put that inside OEMApps or whatever and have that copy over though it doesn't end up in the Windows folder as far as I can tell.
I'm also trying to strip out the more unnecessary stuff, however, the camera always breaks and says the app is missing files to run. I can get rid of the cube, and everything else, but I'd like to leave the camera function behind (strips 30MB off the ROM if I clean everything else out). But the camera doesn't work.

Ok it seems that you found each other, hopefully it will result in a perfect NEON400 rom, whish you guy's all the best and if I can help, just ask.
