Press and Hold the volume down key then push the reset button. When you see the tricolored screen, you can re-flash to a new ROM from there... just by launching a new flash.

thanks for responding yea i tried that i even reinstalled the energy rom but it still wont go past the splash

try flashing from you sd card, search flashing from sd card or something like that. I belive you have to format it in 32 mode and then take the rom "raphimg.nbh"(not exact spelling or proper spelling I beleive some of that has to be in capitals) sorry to here your phone is down. Try that and post your results.

Format the card FAT32. Place a rom on the card & rename the rom to RAPHIMG.nbh.
Put the SD Card in the slot & hold volume down & reset. Press the power button when instructed to do so on the screen.

thanks guys for ur help but i keep getting no image file then it says serial i formated the card and everything

Try a different microSD. Also be sure that you did a full format not a quick format. I had an issue with a few microSD cards, but I like my 2GB PNY for flashing my phone via microSD.

I had the exact same issue after flashing the latest energy 3 rom
heres what i did
1. Reflashed Hard SPL
2. Flashed a stock HTC ROM, i managed to do this from my PC by manually entering the bootloader.
3. Did a hard reset
4. Let phone complete initial setup
5. Reflashed Hard SPL - Read somewhere that sock roms may overwrite \ partially overwrite Hard SPL
6. Flashed an Energy 2 ROM (only cause i wanted to check something out in it anyway)
So far its all looking good

good to see you back, ive had similar issues with a my 16GB and 8GB aswell a few times i think its due to some corruption beeing made to the filesystem when we disconnect it to soon form the pc (using it as disc-drive) thats kinda the same thing that happens when u disconnect a usb-harddrive in windows while its in use by windows and tries to connect it with linux.
a really good disc-repair tool i stumbled upon is located here
http://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/TestDisk
and just to make sure its done right as gsleon3 said, do as he said and make sure that you take the you take the ruu_signed.nbh and rename that to raphimg.nbh (not sure if it has to be in CAPS, im pretty sure ive done it like this RAPHimg.nbh lots of time)
...monx, it would be great to have you back cooking wonderful stew
cheers

@jonteponte
thanks for the tool. it is not case-sensitive but name-sensitive

URGENT: Need Help, My phone won't load...

After trying to rebuild a ROM (NAFT's v3.0) by adding rilphone.dll file to it. Everything went well when I did it with NAFT's v2.3, but when I tried it on v3.0, my phone just stop at the AT&T World Phone screen... I did a hard reset by Pressing Volume Down + Enter + soft reset, but it still stuck at the AT&T screen.
I can still go into the boot screen, but I dont' know what I can do now.
Please help.
IS there a way to load a new ROM from the Bootscreen?
Load the ROM NBH file to your SD Card under the name RAPHIMG.NBH
Enter the Boot Screen and it should start Flashing the ROM.
Enter bootloader, plug the usb cord in, wait for usb to show up on the tri color screen, flash different rom.
Alternatively, you could enter bootloader and follow the directions for flashing from SD card.
Search for it.
Next reply will probably be by someone telling you to search for these questions first, and then someone will make a comment about your somewhat simple question for someone with your post count, and then a mod will say 'redundant thread closed'.
Good luck.
Copy a ROM to your root of your SD card /Storage Card. Rename the ROM file RAPHIMG.nbh
Then go to the bootloader. Should ask you to flash the ROM. Press the power button to begin flashing.
You could also try flashing the Stock ROM that came with you device via your pc with your device in the bootloader. Hook your device up to your pc in the bootloader it will say Serial or USB. If it's USB you should be able to flash as normal.
just like fox, ATW and navy said..
whenever u run into an issue like that..flash from ur SD
80% of the time it works.
ive been in ur situation before..its pretty ****ty..but u can bounce back real quick
Late,

I follow the first advice... put it in boot screen and reflash the new ROM... hope this will work, crossing my fingers... Thanks guys for the very quick reply... it's flashing as we speak.
It seems to be working now... thanks guys.
Got so scared... I must give up the Call Display project... sounds too dangerous
same reason why i stopped messsing with the dialers on M2D
one to many things went wrong and i gave that up real quick..
but what ive learned..over time..
theres always a FIX..just gotta look for it.

It wasn't easy to search went you find out that you've just lost $500 because of a stupid step you did
However, I tried to manage myself to search through the forum for the words "Brick" "Unbrick" and "Flash ROM through Storage Card"... and I thought the world was ending, so I go for the last hope by posting a help thread

How Do I Flash The ROM If I Cannot Boot Into Windows

How do I flash my Titan if I cannot boot past the startup Verizon screen?
This is what I was gonna do. Use DCDs kitchen from 3.2.6 to make a NBH file, then rename it to TITAIMG.nbh, put it on a blank FAT32 formatted SD card, then startup into the bootloader, right?
Thanks for the help. I cannot boot past the start screen, because I tried the stupid 'Reloaded 1.3.4' ROM which did this, so is that what I need to do to flash from the SD card?

format a mSD card as FAT32, with a 1024 allocation size. (this important step MATTERS) put the TITAIMG on the root of the SD card, (if needed place the card back into your phone)
do a soft reset while holding the power and camera button. you should see the rainbow flag screen breifly, then a LOADING screen
if you followed directions carefully (1024 allocation size), you should be prompted to press the POWER button to continue.....go ahead, do it.
Ok, that confirms what I was going to do.
Just did it and everything is fine. I'm back to DCD 3.2.6.
Hey is 3.3.4 stable? I notice there was never an official thread on it. should I stick with 3.2.6?

I always found 3.2.6 the best of his older ROMs. It is fine to stay with that.
Is this the first time you flashed by SD? You have been around for a while I could have sworn you had done it all, but you are saying that all this time you have been flashing through RUU and not SD?
An alternative to SD flash would be:
Hold down the camera button + power and hit reset with the stylus. This will put you in boot loader mode.
Connect to your computer USB and flash.

Several people here are having issues with that method. That is the issue that I am having with the 6.5 roms. It only lets me connect one time through activesync via usb, then after that it rarely works.

Lol, did you edit this post to remove the "cause waves a while back" comment? hehe
Yes, well, I "caused waves" because I found a way to edit the registry to enable to IR port to start working. It worked with an old PPC2003 program called Nevo, and I did in fact have it working with the ability to change channels on the TV and all, but you had to hold your PDA upside down, and the read the Nevo software upside down...it was a hassle. lol
But anyway, yes I cause waves becuase I had it working, and told them what to do to get it working, but none of them could, and they got all mad at me for some reason. Oh well, it was a long time ago, and I don't even use the IR feature anymore. Flashed 100 times since then, who knows what the reg settings are now.

Had an issue after flashing with 21169 (WM 6.5) after trying to restore a 6.1 backup, it was stuck on the boot screen. Was able to put in BL mode, then connect to PC and reflash, all worked fine...
Try renaming the .nbh file to TITAIMG.nbh and put it in a 1GB or less microsd card and then press the power button + the camera Button together and hold, and then press the reset button that is located next to your usb charging/syncing slot
good luck
Yeah, on a side note, I noticed that The card must be 2GB or less, and also you cannot use capital letters for the extension, it must be case sensitive
WORKS: "TITAIMG.nbh"
DOES NOT WORK: "TITAIMG.NBH"

if you can get to the boot loader screen you can probably flash any rom. simply rename the rom file to RAPHIMG.nbh and place it on your memory card, hold volume down + reset with stylus. you should be set. good luck.
does the bootloader still show the olinex 1.90

try flashing hard-spl once again. if it works your saved. as far as i know the people over at att only check for water mark at least in my place the y do. good luck
I found that it was not possible to flash the HardSPL from tri-colour screen.
It only worked for me when windows mobile was fully booted. When you start the HardSPL RUU the phone's screen will just go black, and will return when the update is completed.
I would try connecting the phone while in tri-colour mode, then running the original rom RUU on the PC and seeing if it works. If it gets to the stage where the loading bar shows up on the phone you should be ok.
Once the rom is loaded, start your windows mobile, connect to the PC, and run the RUU for HardSPL.
Best of luck to you!
Thanks for your guys responses I have successfully recovered my phone, I just flashed the original ATT rom from ruu
Very glad that you found solution to fix that problem, because it could happend to any one. Especially after I was thinking to flash everything back to att stock because of my usb exit is getting loose.

[Q] Hd2 freezes at startup, what to do?

Yesterday i put my hd2 in my pocket without locking the screen. when i heard it surfing around the menues i took it back up and tried to take it back to homescreen. As many times before the phone refused to respond so i took out the battery. But when powering it back on the **** wont pass the htc startup-screen!
I have read around this forum quite alot now and i have done hard reset a million times, i have installed an original updated rom from htc`s site. When this didn`t work i installed hspl3, Artemis v270 NOR and RADIO_2.07.51.22_2. And it still wont start!
Im getting quite sick of experimenting, so i`d be really happy if any of you smartguys could help me

Flash a radio that does not have ".51" in the name. Flash a radio that has ".50" instead. ***Make sure the ".50" radio is 2.06+ (don't flash anything below 2.06.50.xx).
Okay, thanks for your reply But i still cant make it work, are you sure its the radio causing this problem? I`ve now tried RADIO_2.10.50.28_2 (this is the only one with "50" in it among the recomended radios in the artemis thread...) , RADIO_2.12.50.02_2 and the mentioned above RADIO_2.07.51.22_2.7z.
Should i just keep going?
One more thing. When 2.12 and 2.10 was installed, the phone restarted by its self after about 30-60 sec on htc bootscreen. if that means anything?

It's usually the radio that's the problem -- if your phone gets stuck on the bootscreen.
I'm not sure what else might be the problem.
Just in case, try this: Task 29, flash a .50 radio, flash a stock ROM (via USB), hard-reset.
If that fails, I don't know what else to say...
i tried the task 29 witout luck A couple more weird things though.. when i try to install a rom from the memory card, the bootloader doesn`t start the installation. I just says "serial". And Yes its formated with fat32 and im sure im doing it right. The other thing is that the phone starts by itself about 60sec after plugging in the charger.. i`m guessing this have to be a hardware problem. might be the usb connector as many seem to have problems with.
I`ve now put in a stock spl and will send it back for repair tomorrow.
Dammit, hspl i still there. Is the only way to remvoe it by using the sd-card? then i might be fu..ed regarding the warranty :S

I think so. Someone with more experience might be able to provide a more confident answer.
Are you sure you're renaming the ROM as "LEOIMG.nbh" (no quotes) and putting it in the root of the SD-card?

Hello dude!
Try using a microSD smaller than 8gb and formated with FAT32 (it's a known fact that 16gb microSD does not work for flashing.....).
If you want to remove the HSPL there is 2 ways:
1 - Flash a stockROM via SDcard, like you are trying to do.
OR
2 - Use the HSPL2 program to revert to the original SPL state.
If you could enter the bootloader, probably your phone does not need any special repairs.. Anyway.......
Try using a smaller SDcard to flash the radio and the ROM again. You could also try flashing via USB/PC.....
Do not forget to redownload the ROM, it could be a "bad download".
For more info take a look here:

hello guys,
someone at htcedia posted this fixes:
1) Install you HSPL.
2) Install your cooked rom.
3) Upgrade your radio. (Leo_RADIO_2.10.50.26)
4) Do Hard reset. (Hold Vol up and down also end call button) then press (Red reset button under back cover next to battery)
Fixes Freezing on HTC bootup screen.
and for me, when i remove the micro sd card the phone bootup but when the micro sd card is in the phone it wont.
so try to remove the micro sd card then reset a hard or soft reset ur device, keep ur micro sd out until ur r completely loaded, then put ur sd card back in the phone.

Hero stuck in "hero" - reinstall rom?

My Hero has been under water for a sec, and is stuck in "HERO" .
Then I guess somthing still is working inside.
Is it a worth try to reinstall a ROM?
I see that this issue already has been written about, but I will really appreciate an explanation for a dummie
Will the unit be able to start a reinstall if a new software is placed onto the memory card? Is the fact that the phone shows "HERO" a sign that the boot process reaches the point to start a reinstall?
If so, can anyone please link me the appropriate ROM and explain what to do?
Is the ROM an .exe file?
I have tried the trick to reset the unit by pressing HOME, BACK and hit the POWER buton. The unit got into the meny and I selected RESET or something but it did solve the problem . I do not know any other easy trick.
Thanks!

This is what I did:
Downloaded the ROM-:2.73.405.5 from HTC.
Installed in windows 7 and took the ROOT.ZIP file from the installation TEMP folder, renamed it to HEROIMG.ZIP and put it to the clean FAT32 SD card and booted the HERO.
The HERO installed the file without any fault messages,
but still the unit does not boot any further than the "HERO" white letters...
I guess this is it...I need a new print card for the phone? I have checked the contacts inside the HERO, they seem ok.
When putting the unit to charge the orange light lits, but disappear when pressing power button - however, the battery DOES charge.
Why did you extract the ROM.zip, just let the RUU run its course. It'll fix any software issues that may exist.

This - and two weeks of vacation worked - thanks!
