Nice write up. They usually do a nice job with their reviews. I was hoping to pick this up a BB but my local store won't have them until the 10/12
Called my local ATT store as well and they didn't get any today(better come tomorrow)

The AT&T stores will most likely have most of the phones compared to a Best Buy, but if I hadn't pre-ordered mine, I would go to the store that opened up first.

That same guy from the AC forums said so. My receipt for my pre-order says I can pick up mine up on 9/25/11 & total cost $649.99. Lot of errors right there.

Sacramento AT&T stores have none on Saturday, but will order for you.
The Parrot stores have none til November.
Best-Buy has six on the "Online / Pre-Order" locked shelf.

I like the review. Glad its not so iPhone biased like Engadget normally does their reviews.
They are lying their asses off though when it comes to battery life being phenomenal. I'd always trust Anandtech review's more for battery life testing which rates it at good for screen-on time but not "AMAZING" the way Engadget is making it out to be...
This is my 8th Android and ive had all iPhone generations and I can honestly say that for the screen size and power that this phone packs, it does have awesome battery life. The best ive ever seen in Android. I text all day, surf web, talk, email, facebook, write and read lots of emails, read xda, etc.. and past 3 days it has lasted me thru my 8-10 hour shift with about 20-25% left to spare as I get home.
This battery life is just as good, if not better, than the iPhone 4 mho

I wish we had things like that over here...
I use this as a Daily internet portal, listening to music on Spotify, ebook, sketch design concepts, taking notes for work. Anytime I travel, this Little tablet is the one thing I take with me on the plane. I don't really play that many games on it, some and it does a decent job for that. So I think these Specs will be fine as long as the Apps I use doesn't require a Quad-Core. Might gift another tablet to myself, but probably sell it to a co-worker who might need the all around awesomeness of HTC Flyer at cost.

Just got in for the $199 Open Box HTC Flyer. I'm so glad I waited. I came so close to buying this afternoon and then I went to work at 4pm to 2 am came home and it was $100 cheaper then the $299 I was gonna pay.
FYI: I just checked eBay and they are still selling for around $290 used.
Looks like they sold out of the refurbs that were $180.
OUT Of Stock but got mine with 3 left.

Same here. It was $295 and I almost bought one but went to Best Buy to ***** at them in person for jerking me around. I come home about an hour later (found a friend camping outside Best Buy) and it was $199.49! I couldn't click buy fast enough. Thank you Best Buy but you still suck.
I also bought one from techforless. We will see what happens. They got good reviews on Google shopper.

I live in Colorado Springs and have purchased from Tech for less many times, to all that have doubts, I would say you have nothing to worry about and will receive a quality product for the price, the reason they did this is because they had over 800 yesterday and when they have a large amout of inventory they do what is called a fire sale and that is how they move a lot of merchandise in a very short period of time. I wish I would have seen the sale would have liked one myself, OH WELL I guess I just missed out. Congrats to all that got one you got a heck of a deal!!!

I called my local bestbuy asking about the prime, she said its coming soon lol. I asked about tomorrow she said no.
Ya this thread should help out in determining whether we're looking at a Jan in-store release or if this thing will actually be in stores by the date Asus said it would be, the 19th of December... Keep us posted if you see anything!
I am hoping by 2nd week of jan really. But I will keep an eye here to see if there is some spottings out there.

Tomorrow right after I get out of school at 1PM I'm going to be biking 30 minutes a GameStop in hopes of obtaining one, and if they do not have one I'll be biking 20 minutes from there to ANOTHER GameStop to see if they have it.
called 2 bestbuys today both said monday dec 19 call the same two back again and one day they dont know and the other said march lol.. got to love it

asked about it today in BB one guy didn't know, looked it up in the computer and it said coming soon.
another guy cam over and said pretty definitively that it was being released tomorrow (19th) and that they would not be available in store until Jan 1.

when i was his age i had to ride a back up a hill both ways to get a piece of penny candy.

I assume they are in collage and they either A. don't have a car B. Doesn't have money for a car or C. live close to school.
Plus a tablet is 500 bucks most cars you buy for 500 bucks aren't worth it...

What makes you so sure he's school aged? Getting out of class at 1 sounds an awful lot like college to me. And I know plenty of people, undergrad, grad school, and working, who ride bikes rather than drive (even for pretty long distances) because they like the exercise and consider it a way to make a positive ecological impact.
My roomate rides becuase he doesn't have a car/lincense/LOVES doing it. It is like 25F outside and he is riding his bike just because he loves being on it
Hahaha you guys. I'm actually a senior in high school, just getting prepped for college. Might as well get this early so I can do my homeworks on my free periods at school. Plus this is my Christmas, Birthday, and Chinese New Year present, plus I'm throwing some of my own money in there. And traveling by bicycle here in New York is much faster than traveling by car/public transport in short-mid range distances. Only problem is, you end up getting to places all sticky and sweaty looking.
Yea totally misleading header there. Was hoping someone found some place that will actually have them in stock tomorrow. I called BB and they also told me January. Guess I will be calling Gamestop in the morning to see if they are going to have any but I actually doubt any stores will actually have them in stock at the stores until January which really Sucks.

While he is railing on Google, the same thing has happened with the iPad. It has sold out, with Apple taking days to update its expected ship date. And trying to find a retailer with one in the first few weeks (i know, my wife was looking for one) was madness.
And really OP, you are complaining about this after only TWO days? Your realize Google is only shipping their first batch right now, right? And future batches have to ship from overseas, which will take a few days (unless they are crazy and fly them in, and then eat all their profits...).

I got in on it. The $11 shipping kind of killed the deal, made it into a meh deal for me. Damn the thing is huge, flimsy kickstand, surprised It didn't break already. Not sure how I'm gonna us it, its too big to carry around. Probaby will just keep it in the car. Maybe at the office for streaming music, not through the company network and not have the network engineer ***** at me.

It was a very limited sale, when I checked it the day this post came out, there was a little over 1 day left. I suspect it is over and JBL website is not smart and put coming soon. Just a thought.
