how do you change or get a page pool that size? most good ROMs are about 16-24.

PDAViet Vs. Fantastic Mobiz

Vote for the best Rom's,
P.S. i respect both developers but i still like one of them more the other it's time for us to share our opinions and help the Flash o'holics persons to choose while am sure no one will stop flashing both for trials
respAct for this thread, I like !
im currently using PDAMobiz b4 cuz of the touchFLO.
If PDAViet integrates this in its next rom, i would definitely change,
I was pdaviet .4s and now fantastic mobiz 2b user... i like much more the second, but the first was more user friendly...
now i'm waiting for 4.0.0.0.5 touch..
I only tried PDAViet roms, but I can only say they are great, almost even better that official roms.

It must be the next stage for PDAVIET ROM. Touch on Prophet, be waiting for that news
pdamobiz b4
yesh!!!! never seee touchhhhhhh
I am using viet 4.0.0.0.5, because its very fast through Mobiz.
Mobiz isnt stable and robust yet.. thouchflo is unusuable now..
I've tested both of the ROM and even if the touch one is really nice, it's very slow with a Prohpet G4 (195Mhz) for the moment so I will say.... PDAViet for me
see you, Bap
I would perhaps wait n test the pDAVIET 4.0.0.5 Touch n then write my views would be more just.........
I prefer PDAViet's ROM
I respect both but personnaly PDAViet's 4.0.0.5a ROM is the most stable and smoothest one I've ever tried. Thanks Cloudyfa from Vietnam for your great work.
i have used PDAVIET Roms for a long time and i think it is the best.
Fantastic Mobiz Roms are not fit for my phone and the speed is slow.
but thanks all their effort.
The bluetooth audio quality of PDAmobiz is fantastic (though sometime have activation problem), I am using b4.
thanks everyone on your thoughts, for me am running PDAViet 4.0.0.4SSE version it's too stable and has a long battery life time that lasts for 3 days.
more over i used the dynamic OMAP dynamic CPU scaler option that varies the CPU from 69 upto 247MHZ also reduces battery drain most of the unused times to less than 30 mA.
plus the sound is very clear when making calls, or using skype, the sync is very fast, file browsing is also very fast than all the rom's i've used before.
of course i would love to have the feel of the touch flo, but when using the fantastic mobiz touch version i found that it was useless @ least for me cause i open many other programs and after all the touch menu's are just short cuts for the speed dials and programs, using resco file explorer today plugin may do the same but still HTC interface is the Best.
but if it slows my PDA then i dont want it.
so thanks Fanstic Mobiz Team and PDAViet Team really deserve a night with britney spears
I use b4 rom and I like it cause look like touch
I know it to Slow but I think a litiebit for me
^^

I need a FAST rom

Hi
Have a profhet G4, but i have now tried EVO8, Transfomer 1.0/1.1, Touch IX and Crystal V4.
They all run to slow even with xcpuscalar, and battery time is not good enough for my daily use. (Not using Wi-FI)
So should i try to go back on a WM5 rom ?, or has anyone good experiences with a WM6 rom? Maybe i should try with a clean WM6 rom? (link?)
thanks.
BR. Flemming
If Crystal V4 (Personal Edition) is not fast enough for you, I think you should cook your own ROM, 'cause that's all that left. If you do find a Faster ROM, I'd love to hear about it.
all now available wm6 rom is slower than wm5

Is it? All this while I thought WM6 (pure ones without TouchFlo and other fancy add-on) should run faster. I don't know cause used WM5 (think it was a very old release) for like 1 day plus then upgraded already.
Just open the Windows folder or settings in an WM5 Rom after you used WM6 and you will see which one runs faster.....you should also compare booting times! oO
In fact: Nearly any WM6 rom is faster than the WM5 ones...try it and you will see!

I agree with you. If more speed is needed , there is always battery plugin
Finally, at some point you're facing the hardware limit...

BTW, if you feel that WM5 is faster than WM& why the hell are you interested to upgrade. Stay as it is, man

I think too.
Well I'm happy that you found Crystal V4 fast. Recently there has been some development in ROM cooking world and consequently the crystal V5 will be even more stable and fast ! Crystal V5 will be a clean ROM with VOIP. The free storage memory will be somewhere around : 46 Mg .
This rom will be released in two to three weeks

I totally agree with you. I was almost abandon my Pocket pC before WM6 make my day again.
In era WM5 I totally refused to reboot due to slow booting time. WM6 safe a day.
Good luck!
i think you can enjoy htc photo album gestures and cube and other gr8 interfaces which wm6 has offered rather than think of speed ,you see there is a difference between a vintage glider(wm5) and a boeing 747 (wm6)and a f-16 fighter aircraft and a chopper , all have their own specific usage advantages and disadvantages ,no one of them will provide you everything at one place. you cant take a ferrari on country rally and if a country rally car comes to ferrari race it won't win .they have their own routes to go into.
WOW!!! hma4, 46MB wud b a treat!! I simply luv the freedom a clean ROM gives
46 MB.. It is really good... As I said before, you are one of the greatest....
serious speed issue
Guys,
I do have a Prophet as well as a Tornado. They seem to be identical in terms of hardware, but the even with the default WM5 roms the Tornado is way faster (windows folder opens in 2-3 seconds while the Prophet takes a well 6-7 seconds).
If you add special features to the Prophet, such as HTC Home, and a couple of other gimmicks, then it can be painfully slow (even with my cpu o/c at 273MHz). I did a hard reset to mine a couple of weeks ago and now I need over 20 seconds to open windows folder. I don't know if it is the rom to blame (I am currently using a PDAViet ver 4.0.0.0WWE) but we have to do something about it! Even the phone features are getting slow
Does everybody confirm that Crystal V4 is the fastest rom around? I have also in mind a TNT Greek rom (since I am Greek). Is that any good in terms of speed?

Hi...
new version of PointUI released today...
Looks VERY exciting and pretty...am going to try it tonight on my gene 3400i with sumit's manillavanilla ROM after disabling touchflo on it...
My earlier experience with pointui ver 1.51a was QUITE good apart from some stability issues...
This one must be better...and faster than other UIs.
Shall post details once i have it on my system!

Hey thanks for the info buddy. Tried it. First 15 minutes impression:
- Display like a today plugin is good as it allows one to use the tradional start menu too.
- Animations are cool but a bit sluggish on gene.
- Memory usage is almost double the TouchFlo's :O it hogs 8091 KB of memory, touchflo's manilla 2D shows around 4500 KB.
- Not as responsive as Previous Version or as TouchFLO.
-Slideshow didn't worked at first go, had to configure it twice to get it to work.
-No start menu icon created. Will check if it works as a today plugin or something.
So overall impressive piece of work, but requires a bit of tweaking from the developer's side.
Checked it after removing M2D from Sumit's MVUltimate ROM, honestly didn't impress me much. If anyday i will switch to eye candy with this device, I will definitely part with M2D at least as things stand now . I believe it has miles to go before it can come into compettition.
surely it isnt a fraction as pretty as m2d...maybe we'll have to wai for the ver 3.0
it might be much faster however if burned into the romi feel!
what say ankit?

Cooked it into a ROM derived from MVUltimate by Sumit (krazy), Not much impressed though. Got it to work. speed is ofcourse improved, if you want, I will post a link from where you can download and check in your Gene (BTW I am not an experienced cooker, so don't blame me if your Gene is bricked, Hey it worked for me ).
hi...
great work...
i tried it on ankits rom...and well speed is PRETTY good...but eye candy is anadequate...and honestly, the speed and stability of ankits 6.5 vs rom has me hooked and im not changing my rom till ankit releases a newer version!
...but great work mate!

mixing manilas

hi
well i have strange question
is it possible (and easy ) to mix manilas?
i mean for example adding people tab from manila 2.5 to manila 2.1?
is it much better in 2.5 but whole manila 2.5 is to "heavy" for raphael so?
sense 2.5 is like a single structure, i tried asking around for a twitter tab port over to 2.1 but they said its gonna be real tough or not possible at all, because some of the stuff that u want from 2.5 relies on the rest of the sense packages
what about some other shells? maybe sbp?
manila 2.5 on raph is slow but 2.1 got some bugs i ve tested over 10 roms in past week and everyone has some bad issues
edit
is it possible to cook both manilas in one rom?
and i as a user could change it in items (today options)?

The problem is that 2.5 is not intended for the Raph. 2.5 was ported over from the Pure which has a 1Ghz processor while the Raph is around 500 mhz. half the speed trying to run the same system and you can see why it is slow and sluggish. There is no way to make 2.5 run better on the raph due to it's hardware limitation.

What is the best working rom? ONLY MAY 2010

I hope this the right place for that question / poll ...
What is the best "working" rom at that moment (may 2010)?
Not the best looking rom but the rom with best performance and fewest problems.

absolutely properly! FFBOY2009 make great work
of course : novembre5 ROM works fine and its near to zero bugs
for best looking is FFboy's sense beta2 very nice and very stabil
I would recommend arag0n85's Debranded Orange..
You get all the stability of the official rom, but all of the unnecessary rubbish is gone.
I have tried a few of the cooked roms now, but find that none are as good for GPS (using GPSModDriver) and no ActiveSync problems, unlike all the others I have tried.
I use Mobile Shell 3.5.4 and Phone Suite 1.2 (I don't like the current version) The beauty of Phone Suite is that it allows me to have the phone power down at night and start automatically in the morning. A real bonus for battery life.
i've had the novembre5 clean Rom 3 running for a few weeks, and it`s solid.
Huge performance increase and zero crashes or lockups

Run by me with spbMobileShel 3.5.4 + Mobile Sense theme. Have then 87 mb free RAM. Absolutely solidly and bugfree
toshiba 5005.0001.76
i think, the best rom is the official one. i have tried all custom build roms and each of them has some issues. i noticed some problems with graphics in different programs, problems with gps, sound and even if u have 90 mb of ram after restart, you are usually at 50-60 after while anyway and that is same amountof memory as the original one has. i have to say those guys made good job to produce those roms, but i still think the official rom is the most stable one there. i use spb3.5 so i don`t care about bigger buttons so much.
or
i just installed FFBOY`S 6.1 rom and i must admit it looks great, fast, plenty of memory, i didn`t notice any bugs. i`m gonna test it for a while and maybe this one will be my favourite..;-)

under settings/ personal is ordinarily menu INPUT available. but in your ROM
is this empty. I have corrected this: HKLM\ControlPanel\Input\Restrict
deleted Restrict. After reset is under settings/ personal menu INPUT available.
FFBOYS 6.1 is the best very clean fast stable
FFBOYS beta 2 if you want with manila sense.. very stable too
Novembre5 if you want clean 6.5
Malaysian rom for standard Toshiba rom.. very good gps.
