Need Help with getting my Rogers x10a back to stock. - XPERIA X10 Android Development

So I rooted my Rogers x10a and it works great I just won a Samsung S so i'm going to be selling my X10a.. but I can't seem to get it back to stock firmware.. I tryed running omnius_se.exe. but I can't seem to find the Rogers firmware files anywhere... that will work with Omnuius

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=683793
Download R1FA014, that's the one I used and it branded my phone from 3 to rogers.

i tried that and it didnt work.. theres no rogers branding on it and the phone says its a x10i.. help please?

Install this rom: http://hotfile.com/dl/43225669/598add6/a_WWE_R1FA014_DEK.zip.html, then use SEUS to install/brand with the latest Rogers fw.

is this for the ominus method or flash tool? i used flashed tool. is there a link that shows how to do it in flash tool im not experienced with ominous and yes i did tonnes of searching for rebranding.
i bricked my phone trying to try the ...24 root and i flashed the x10a ...14 FW and did a OTA upgrade to ...23 FW since PC comp or SEUS werent working. I just want to go back to the stock FW so i can do the upgrade to android 2.1 when it comes out.
EDIT: I learned how to do the Ominus method. Thanks a lot for the support xda devs!!!

can you share how to you did the omnius method? i need to do the same thing and flashing isnt working for me either. thanks.

Get:
http://hotfile.com/dl/43225669/598add6/a_WWE_R1FA014_DEK.zip.htm
Unzip both files and copy the .sin files in one separate folder.
Rename system_XXXXXXXXXXXXX.sin to system.sin
Same for userdata_XXXXXXXXX.sin
Get one of the root files for X10a (step 3a from root V1 or step4 from root V2) and copy the loader.sin (didn't work for me without this file), USBFlash.dll, X10flash.bat and X10flash.jar in the same folder.
Create DeviceID.txt with your device id.
Put the phone in flash mode, run X10flash.bat and that's it.
You will have R1FA014 Rogers branded.
Run SEUS and upgrade it to R2BA020 Rogers branded.
Sell your X10a and send me a beer.
PS: it works 100% i just did it 10min ago
EDIT: or you come to Montreal and i do it for you ... just bring me a beer.

It's XIOFUB.rar that you're supposed to use with a_WWE_R1FA014_DEK. XIOFUB contains all of the files that you're pulling from the different root files.
XIOFUB + a_WWE_R1FA014_DEK + DeviceID = Rogers

I have no idea what is XIOFUB
A link please ?

It's on the same page (post #3) of the Decrypted X10 ROM's found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=683793
There you will find the ROM you need and below it you will see the flash tool.
Post#2 has the ROM's and Post#3 has the tools.
Just unRAR the XIOFUB and replace all of the .sin files with the ones from the ROM that you want.

[Q] 2.1 update gone wrong and now cannot flash to anything other than x10i R1FA016

Hey guys.
Last night I decided to flash my x10a to 2.1, which had gone horribly wrong as I was not able to use my phone for a good 12 hours.
I started panicking and thought I had bricked my phone for good because every firmware I flashed to either gave me a yellow exclamation mark, an endless black screen flicker, or it would just vibrate continuously without booting up.
Fifteen hours later I had finally got my phone working. What I did was use ONLY the Flash Tool found in post #3 from this link below and flashed my phone with that.
forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=683793
If I tried overwriting the x10i .sin files with that of the x10a (or any other firmware or rom file), it would give me one of those problems I described above.
After I used the flash tool, I found myself with an x10, Model: x10i, Country: Generic Global, Brand: Generic and running firmware R1FA016. The phone found a software update and updated itself to the R2BA026 firmware.
Now my question is, how can I reflash my phone back to an x10a? I've tried to reflash back to x10a using the flash tool with the x10a files loaded and found myself in the same problem as before and having to go back to an x10i again.
And if I can't reflash back to an x10a, how do I get the 2.1 update? I think I've read that the Generic Global firmware already has the 2.1 update, but using SEUS, PC Companion and OTA update has all returned with me having the latest update.
Also, my friend also has an x10 and I noticed the LED behind his home button is a purple colour while mine is a whitish teal colour. Was just wondering if the problems Im experiencing could be related to a faulty or old batch of x10`s with faulty rom?
Hopefully this will help some people unbrick their phones and answer a few questions.
You should be able to use the flash tool (like you said in post #3) to flash back to the original Rogers firmware 1.6.
I actually thought it would work because I have a Rogers X10a and I flashed it to the generic uk 2.1 already. I was under the assumption that I could flash back to the Rogers X10a 1.6 firmware using the old Flash Tool (post #3).
Are you sure you replaced all the files correctly from the x10a?

Step 3 - X10a Only!
Okay now you have to complete the conversion from X10i to X10a!
For this is step3!
To do it please run the file named: "3_patch_X10a_only.cmd"
After the copying is done you will see a similar window as in step1. It will tell you that you should connect your X10 in flashmode!
Please do it like in step 1. Connect the phone an press any button. The process will flash the baseband of X10a R2!
Now you are done

So I feel like a total dumbass now for overlooking the filenames as the files system.sin and userdata.sin aren't named as such in the stock Rogers R1FA014 zip file and have to be renamed!
But I still can't get the 2.1 update to work out. Still getting the yellow exclamation mark everytime I flash it. I don't know what I could be doing wrong. Is anyone else having this problem? Seems like I'm the only one who can't update
Oh well, at least I can go back to having an X10a now. Thanks guys!

[Q] PLEASE help to Flash my SE X10i mini pro from 1.6 to higher version!

After reading about 3-4 days this forum...my head is totaly in chaos.
I'm owner of u20i mini pro
Simply I do not understand many things here..
First of all I have v1.6 and what I want is to upgrade android version to use Skype and Trillian (IM client). So my first question is what is the most stabile firmware for my phone? Is there any newer versin than link in next sentence?
I try with this post:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=895370
The problem is that the link for Flashtool version for that firmware is broken. So just new version can find v0.28.
I downloaded system.zip file and extract firware folder to Flashtool folder. But when I click on flash and browse to firmware folder there is nothing! So what can I do?
What does it meant to decrypt files? Do I need to decrypt that downloaded files from system.zip folder (from folder firware)???
Is it enough to make just a "Bundle Creation" from advanced menu in FlashTool v0.28 and then continue from step 6 with ftf extensions?
Notice: My phone is rooted and I have a Xrecovery instaled and have a USB drivers for flashing.
My phone is now simunlocked so I can use every sim card. Is there any danger that after I flash my phone with newer android that it wil be simlocked? Sorry for stupid question..but I must to know.
So if someone want to help me I will be thankful.
First, you are in the wrong forum. Putting the X10 (not mini) firmware on your mini is not a good idea. Go to the X10 mini forum and look for the flash guide for noobs.
Even if you don't get the latest 2.1 update from flashing, you can hook your phone up to SEUS or PC Companion after flash and get the latest firmware.
I believe that you will still be sim unlocked, but I am not sure. There is a thread by Batman_112 about the differences between debranding and unlocking in this forum.
I would provide links, but I am on my phone and can't. Let me know if you can't find them and I will send them to you in a bit when I get on my computer.
I can't understand you..wht you said that wrong firmware I choose? I posted link from x10 mini pro forum.
I try SE update service and it says for my country (Serbia) that the v1.6 is the newest firmware for my phone.

Sorry, I didn't realize you linked to the mini firmware. I don't understand why you are posting here. That firmware 2.0.2.A.0.24 is not the current one. The current one is 2.1.A.0.435 in the mini forum.

@agentJBM : Do I use X10 mini pro ftf files -> U20i UK ??
Because in this thred there is not ftf files do I need to make it like hardway link said?
Model number is U20i
Will be my phone still simUNLOCKED after this update?
Anyone please!!!
Google search is your friend. I already told you about sim lock....No it should not affect it....here is another source.....

I don't know the best firmware for you to use. Any region will work. Try Nordic or UK. Obviously they are not going to have yours because they never updated your region to 2.1. So what you are doing is "debranding".
The hard way is not really difficult. There is just an extra step of extracting the sin files. Just right click on the sin files inside the firmware download and click extract to specified folder. In this case the specified folder is "firmware" folder inside the Flash Tool folder. If "firmware" folder doesn't exist you need to create one.
Really, just follow the instructions where you download the firmware. It is not that difficult..and try using Google search for your questions.
Also try asking your questions in the right forum. This is not the mini forum.

So you said that I need just to do a Bundle Creation and then follow the tutorial?
And thats it?
Yes. If you are using new Flash Tool, 2.4 or higher, just put the UK ftf file in firmware folder.
Flashing: Turn off your phone. Plug usb cable into computer but not your phone. Then go back to the computer and click on "x10flasher.exe" (or something like that) inside the Flash Tool folder below the firmware folder where you put the ftf bundle. The flasher will open. Click on the button "flash". Then select the firmware and click OK. Then it will say something like "connect X10 in flash mode". While holding the back button on your phone plug in the USB cable. Once the flasher starts release the back button. Wait till says finished. Done
Make sure you back up your data before you flash. Then restore when you are done. There are free Backup and Restore apps in the Market if you don't have one.
Edit: How did it go?
Thx man for detailed erplay..I make it with succes.
Now I'm using version UK v2.1

[HELP] Changing CDF makes SEUS to refuse to repair!

Hello everyone, I'm new here so sorry if I'm doing something wrong, I tried to search but couldn't find anything related to my problem!
I'm running in a little trouble trying to recover to my local factory firmware with SEUS since last friday, reading a lot of threads here and at other forums with no luck.
Hope someone could enlight me.
[EDIT to what is happening right know]
The history log:
- I update my U20a (1239-7686) mini pro with PC Companion as soon as I bought it to 2.1.1.A.0.6.
- Then I rooted, tried hundreds apps, removed other dozen with Titanium Backup installed JIT and then I had the "brilliant" to reset from the inside android menu wondering that my firmware will return fresh and clean, big mistake.
- After trying three different firmwares and versions (including downgrading to 1.6) with FlashTool 0.2.9.1 I finally found that with this one SEUS recognize my phone and repair it.
The problem is that when I edit build.prop to my factory CDF number, SEUS do not recognize it anymore. What am I doing wrong? Any clue??
just a thought...
Did you try force method?
Use seperated SE Update software not update from pccampanion.
Then when you have selected model etc etc enter in flash mode and let it finish with flashing ... works in 99% time..
what worked for me
I had about the same problem, but managed to sort it out with the Flash Tool.
Check if the latest firmware has been downloaded by the SE Updater Service to /Program Files/Sony Ericsson/Updater Service/db/. (check the size, there should be about 100+ MB in there).
If so, you can use the Flash Tool to :
1) decrypt the files in the .../db/12345678/ folder
2) build a package from the newly decrypted .sin files (the build package window will open right after the decryption), select all the .sin files, name the package and go
3) flash that package to your phone.
I hope this will work for you too.

I tried with PC Companion, and SE Update Service, both softwares available from SE website.
If you mean I should use SE Update Service, that's exactly the problem, it doesn't work. Otherwise I don't know what you mean about force method.

I didn't try this because SE Updater stops right after I choose the Mini Pro, it tells me I have the lastest firmware no matter what firmware I've flashed, even 1.6. Just to be sure I'll check this when I go back home.
Try to change the custom revision number too inside the build.prop, it helped for me before. Eg from R4B to R3B.
Sent from my U20i using XDA Premium App
i got this problem too, now im stuck on the previous kernel and dont know what to do... but the SEUS file decryption sounds nice... ill give it a shot...

Great, can you upload please, I still can't find the files, please please I really need
For PCC, you can find the files in C:\ProgramData\... (Sorry, I don't have PCC so I cannot give you more specific location)
For SEUS, they are in C:\Program Files[ (x86)]\Sony Ericsson\Update Service\db\...\blob_fs

Hope it is useful for you.

[GUIDE] How to make your regional firmware an .FTF file

Okep. I assume you have the latest FlashTool installed already...
1) Get this (SEUS) : http://www.x-drivers.com/catalog/flash/mobile_phones/companies/sony_ericsson/models/seus/7572.html
2) Flash your phone with the latest software available using SEUS.
3) Go to C:\Program Files\Sony Ericcson\Update Service\db\13740270\blob_fs\
4) Copy the 2 largest files you'll find there to C:\Flashtool\leajian (I assume you created there a folder called leajian)
5) Run FlashTool
6) Click Advanced > Decrypt Files
7) Source folder : C:\Flashtool\leajian
8) From Files, select all (Click & Ctrl + A) and click -> to move the 2 files to Files to convert
9) Click OK
10) Wait patiently till it finishes...
11) From Folder list, select all (Click & Ctrl + A) and click -> to move the 2 files to Firmware content
12) On Device write the model [ex. Xperia X10 Mini Pro(U20i)], on Version write the firmware version and/or the Android version [ex. 2.1.1.A.0.6 (Eclair_2.1)], on Branding write the region and your name if you wish [ex. Greek (by Leajian)].
13) Click OK
14) On Device Selection choose the device it is for (ex. U20i)
15) Wait very patiently...
16) When it finishes the .ftf file is located on C:\Flashtool\firmwares
17) SHARE IT ON XDA!!!

Seus downloads the firmware file to a folder on the pc as it flashes the phone. U use this file to create an ftf file in flashtool so you dont have to bother with Seus when u need it.
Multiple files
I have multiple large files in my folder, so which one should I choose?

If you're in the right folder (It might also be C:\ProgramData|Sony Ericsson\Update Engine\db\13740270\blob_fx), the two biggest files should be around 12000 kb and 104000 kb big, and their name should start with FILE_ (after the underscore a bunch of numbers). those should be the ones you use.
FILE_278994861 - 209,828KB
FILE_278574274 - 163,555KB
FILE_278574274 - 158,145KB
FILE_276191630 - 26,121KB
FILE_276191605 - 16,428KB
FILE_278990579 - 15,623KB
FILE_278524644 - 15,403KB
And others are below 1MB. So you can see that it's not possible to choose correctly my firmware (I might end up creating a Hybrid. )
Is there any possibility to decrypt those files so I can see my firmware?
Maybe I have so many these large files because I updated Xperia Mini too. (I have Xperia Neo). But I need my regional firmware that's in that folder because I upgraded to ICS, then downgraded to GB (regional) but I don't like bloatwares there, so reinstalling SEUS is not an option.
delete everything and let seus download the firmware for the device you want.
choose repair or something, it will download the firmware just abort when it wants to flash, you should have no trouble then
I told you that is not an option, because my original firmware is somewhere in those files, and since I flashed 2.3.4 global firmware, it will download it again (not the regional that I need and want).
Look at the creation dates for those files then,
Every one of the really big ones will be paired with a smaller one.
My guess is the biggest one contains all the bloatware, so discard that one.
If you can roughly remember when you updated that Mini, you can discard the files from around that date too.
If you can't remember, just create two bundles, and see which one works on your phone
(You can do a repair in SEUS without attaching your phone to the computer, you just select your phone-model. SEUS will be unaware what firmware you are running currently, and just select the latest firmware available for your phone)
(Additionally, if you hate the bloatware, you can delete it manually using a file-exporer with root-access on your phone)

It depends of phone and FW version. For my ST18i it is about 265 MB on 2.3.4 and 370 MB on ICS.

If you've done everything right, you've got the kernel and rom that is the official se firmware, any custom kernel will be replaced by the stock one and any custom rom will be replaced by the stock 2.1. If your bootloader is unlocked or not doesn't matter much because the loader is flashed together with the kernel.
Just make sure that if your bootloader is already unlocked, you select Unlocked bootloader when flashtool asks for it in making the ftf-file. If you select Locked bootloader and flash it on an unlocked bootloader it may give unpredictable results when you try to flash another kernel, or try to restore the bootloader. On the other hand: If your phone's bootloader is locked, and you have chosen to include an unlocked loader in your ftf-file, the flash will fail.
Best way is to include the unlocked loader and flash the firmware with flashtool when your phone's bootloader is actually unlocked. That will give you the exact same result as updating using SEUS or PC Companion. If you want to relock the bootloader do it using S1Tool.
It's the only tricky thing about it, but neither will brick your phone
I've actually used this to make three backups.
One for firmware to flash on a locked bootloader, which has come in handy for some people in here (My phone is the E10i, and i've helped some people get back on stock firmware when they've accidentally relocked their bootloader on a custom kernel)
One for firmware to flash on an unlocked bootloader (for personal use)
And one that includes only the kernel and the loader (If i've tested a custom rom and kernel, I restore my stock ROM from CWM and then flash back the stock kernel, that way i've got all my settings, root, cwm, data and apps that i use regularly and i'm back to normal in about 5 minutes)
