Dead Pixel!! - 7 Mozart General

I have a dead pixel on my screen! Anyone else having problems with dead pixels?
Should I take the phone back? I only got it today.

Take it back and get a new one

Do you think they will take it back??

Yes. Call htc

I called HTC but they said they will only exchange the phone if there are over 5 deal pixels. I do have the option of exchanging the phone with the phone shop I bought it from, I will give that a go.
Thanks for your help.

Don't mention the dead pixel, just return it and get a new one or they'll just give you the dead pixel policy.

I got my Mozart on Monday and had also a dead pixel. So I sent it back and got a new one today. Of course without any ..... (off Topic : used it ca. 15 min. and put my SIM back to my HD2 )

[Q] Will Sprint Replace Phone Because of Dead Pixels?

Hey! I noticed there were some dead pixels on my new Evo 3D that I got about a week ago. I used an app to see the dead pixels, and I can confirm I had 2 dead pixels on my screen. The phone is pretty much new and in perfect condition except for a tiny scratch on the screen. What I want to know is if they will replace the phone for free. If I go to the same bestbuy where I got it, will they replace it for free?
If you're with in 30 days of buying it and don't have it rooted or s-off'd you should be able to. Or just have a tech replace the LCD. (If you're local sprint store has techs).

It is within 30 days of buying it, no root or S-OFF, but I got it from bestbuy. Will they still replace the phone instead of the screen if requested? I've also had other problems like the phone not starting up when powered down completely until I take the battery out and put it back in.
Yes they will if it has other problems they can't have a tech fix.

Thanks guys, I just got the phone replaced. I'm also considering rooting the new one when the Warm ROM for the Evo 3D comes out.

Fairly disappointed with Telus customer service

Two weeks ago, I bought my Amaze and two days after having it I noticed it had a dead pixel that would only turn white or red. Immediately I took it back to where I bought it expecting them to just give me a new phone instead of having to ship it away to HTC. But apparently being shipped from factory with a dead pixel is not a good enough reason to declare it DOA and just replace it, so instead they sent it away and told me that it would take 2-6 weeks to come back. I'm rather frustrated and unimpressed with their service. Does anyone have any suggestions to make this better or any relating customer service experiences?

I've been with Telus since 1996 and have no complaints about their customer service. I can understand your frustration after only 2 weeks but I think that is pretty standard for Canadian carriers.
no way. here in US they give you 14 days if you wanna get another phone or exchange they will do it, or if you have insurance and you bricked your phone they send you another one before you send the defective one back,
That really sucks. If it is a warranty thing, they send you the phone first. You then have 7 days to send the old one back. If you have the extended warranty coverage, you get the phone with next day shipping.

For those with bad pixel's

I have 4 bad pixel's on my HTC one I bought it brand new for retail off ebay. I see alot of these problem's going on and people geting worst phone's back so instead of playing the return and hope to get a good one game I have contacted HTC with the problem they are aware of the problem and will fix the phone for free ( you just pay shipping to them ) and promise and perfect display when it leave's so I will post back ( about 2 week's...) to see if they really did fix it right.

So I purchase a product from them that does not meet their own standards? Then I have to pay to ship it back to them, and then wait 2 weeks for the device I just purchased. Yikes!
Yeah that is not right...I argued the best they could do is pay shipping back..time's like this is when I wish I had Att so I could go right to the store...( have stright talk reason why I bought it online ) If I do send it back I will have no phone for 2 week's wish they would do what apple doe's and send a new phone first but they won't.

They wouldn't do an advanced replacement?

Had a dead pixel on my One I picked up yesterday and I went back in and exchanged it. I can live with the screen gap but I'll be damned if I have to stare at a dead pixel for 2 years. Once you know it's there, it's all you can think about.
I got a replacement yesterday. It had a dead pixel. Just a single one but it drove me crazy and my eyes would constantly gravitate to it. Fought with them all morning because they told me to exchange it in a store, no stores are carrying the 64gb in inventory so they said they would send me a return label and once they get this device send me another. I called back multiple times and fought with multiple people. Eventually I got a supervisor that made it so they send me the replacement first, then I send back this one. It took a lot of fighting and a lot of calls but they eventually did it. The supervisor actually had to get approval from her supervisor. It was a hellish morning and I'm glad I finally got it sorted. Already got an email about the order for the replacement so that's a good sign. Man their customer service has taken a nosedive. It never used to be this difficult to do an exchange. When the last rep answered "thank you for calling att where pur customers are the #1 priority I couldn't help to laugh and say 'that's not true'"

That is exactly how I look at it, I don't care how small it is if I know it is there I will keep looking for it...Needless to say I returned the phone I am scared to buy another one even all the one's I seen in person have dead pixel's somewhere on the screen.
What color on the screen did you notice the dead pixel?

Its still under warranty, why do you have to pay S&H?
I got mine today and no dead pixels or gaps I'm so lucky

it's lack of quality control ,they should recall them back, and replacement all device free
i have strong OCD. so i can not stand that, even only one dead pixel
Lucky you. Can you post your manufacturing details?

Was this through ATT or HTC? the jerks at HTC said they wont pay for shipping or replace .. just a repair and it will take 10 business days for me to get my phone back .. WTF ... HTC and Samsung need to get on Apple's level of Product Troubleshooting and Exchanges ...

This was through AT&T. If you are an AT&T customer, I would check to see if there is a warranty center in your area. They will usually make an exchange on the spot. Otherwise, call AT&T and they will send out a replacement right away and you just mail in your defective phone when you receive the new one.
I bought my phone used, does the 1 year manufacture warranty carry over to me, even though I'm not the original owner?
What are you using to find dead pixels with, they are quite small. I know certain screens/colors will reveal them nicely.
I had one dead pixel on my first HTC one it also had the speaker grill cut incorrectly. I decided to do a exchange for the same one and this one is perfect no issues. To check for dead pixels use this app it's great also shows ghosting ( https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.ujacha.deadpixel&hl=en). I love this phone btw hope this helps anyone.

It should because the warranty is on the device, not the person.

HTC Warranty Repair

I just wanted to share my experience with HTC's warranty repair. My phone's screen died and I didn't have insurance. I had about a month left in the HTC warranty, so I called HTC and they asked me to send the phone. I mailed the phone on a Tuesday or Wednesday and got it back on Friday the next week. I had used HTC dev and unlocked the boatloader but I relocked it before I sent it for repair.

Good to know. No questions asked then. I am about to return to stock from being S-OFF as I am having issues with my digitizer. I was going to see what Sprint will do first.

I also would like to share my experience with HTC warranty repair in UK .I bought this phone 6 months ago and I was always really happy with it since 3 weeks ago when I had a problem with the power botton. Seemed that the power botton was locked on and the phone was continuously restarting.
I sent it to HTC warranty and after a few days they replyed that the phone has a liquid damage and that is not cover by warranty and they have to
replace everything inside , the cost of reparation is 210 pounds. Then I had to declined their offer and I ask it back ( they charged me
30 pounds for the labor and the shipping) .When I got it home I open it ( using a tutorial video on youtube on how to open an HTC ONE X + and my basic knowledge)
and I found out that the problem was just a pin out of place. I plug it in back and the phone restarted normaly (I'm not a technician or a engineer and I don't know anything about circuits) .
I'm woundering how many people like me have they charged for nothing!!!
Shame to HTC warranty service and who do the repairs for them ( REGENERSIS ) .

I would like to share with u same sort of experience with Htc warranty repair, as i got the phone from three, after ten months htc mic was not working as i couldn't hear the other person when receiving or making call. after going through troubleshooting with the Three technical team they advised me that phone is eligible for repair as it isn't water damaged and covered by Warranty.
after sending the phone by post, they emailed the quotation saying phone is all rusty and water damaged, not covered by HTC Warranty. The same day i refused the repair and i complained to THREE and to HTC without paying Admin fee & postage. Today i got email saying we r returning ur phone.
Now i am waiting for the Phone and i will check the phone for water damage and prove them wrong. I will keep u posted for the updates.

Stuck Green Pixel in lower middle part of the phone

I got my HTC One from AT&T about a week ago. And just this night, a stuck green pixel has shown up on the screen. Its the only one. I've tried the stuck pixel testing thing for 30 minutes to no avail. My device has an unlocked bootloader running CM10.1.
Should I just keep trying to fix it and hope it goes away? Or should I try to go to AT&T and get it exchanged and how they don't notice. I'm very upset about this since I always have bad luck with this type of stuff. I went through 3 tablets all with dead pixels until finally giving up on getting a tablet. I also returned a new laptop as a result of a few dead pixels. So I'm actually losing sleep since this JUST showed up a few hours ago and now I can't stop noticing it.
definitely should return it back to stock using the stock RUU and return. Thats a manufacturer defect and they WILL notice.
Good Luck man
I just got my phone in the mail 3 days ago and upon turning it on it had a green stuck pixel too. However I'm kind of willing to just keep it because it took forever to get to me in the mail and it's the best phone I ever used haha. Does AT&T stores accept exchanges if I ordered the phone thru AT&T website? Or would they make me send it back in the mail?
