Yeah they did! How hard is it to release the generic firmware for the LAM/NAM markets? I thought the generic firmware for both the the X10i and X10a would be the first to be released! Guess I was wrong!

Yeah I read about that on here. So what is the difference between LAM/NAM and the Brazil generic? Don't they all use the X10a? Sony Ericsson is frustrating me!

No difference, except maybe for default language selected the first time you boot the phone, and I forgot if there were applications loaded for the Brazilian market, anyways, you can remove those if you're rooted.
As for the build number, same as Rogers.

Can I install any firmware on my X10?
At the moment I have a german X10 with Baseband 1.0.14.
Can I upgrade to 1.0.16 without any problems?
Yes, when you have an branded Version, u must use the instructions to debrand it. But u can upgrade without any Problems. When Your phone is unbranded use the Sony Ericsson Update service, it will find the update. Save your old frimware when u decide to debrand it, so u can brand it back for warranty reasons.
Sounds great.
You have to know, that this is my first Android device. Before, I jsut used webOS and WinMo.
What tools do I need do 1. drebrand, 2. save the old firmware and 3. put the new firmware on the device?
I'm using a Mac, but can use Windows if needed.
Thanks for answer

This might be a stupid question but I'm running R1FA016 (was originally running R1FA014, Vodafone UK but flashed the phone) however when I go into the service menu it states that it's customized. I was under the impression that R1FA016 is unbranded.
To get into the service menu press menu, back, back, menu, back, menu, menu, back when the phone is locked.
I'm getting my info from the first option 'Model Info'.
Any ideas or am I being stupid?
I have R1FA016 version x10, bought it from o2 in uk, its not sim locked and it doesnt apear to be branded either, but it says customized too

[Q] 2.1 update for debranded phones - how?

I live in Brazil, and have debranded my X10 mini pro using a generic UK firmware. What leaves me puzzled is how my phone will be treated when the 2.1 update will be available - will I get an update as a UK or as a Brazilian debranded phone? Does SE check it by software version (UK) or by location - IP or operator (Brazil)? Any ideas?

Any generic UK QWERTY official ICS roms for the mini pro (sk17i)?

Hey everybody, I'm a bit fed up of waiting for ICS to be released for my mini pro (SI 1249-4852 - UK generic)
I've rooted my phone and can edit the build.prop file to trick SEUS (or whatever it's called now) into downloading an update, but what should I change my SI to?
Are there any generic UK QWERTY ICS roms?

Thanks for that. Will I be okay to use that on my UK mini pro? It says Central Europe. Also, what's the difference between Central Europe 1, 2 and 3?
