[MOD][CM7][Theme Chooser][22/2] Battery icon with percentage - Wildfire Themes and Apps

Hi everyone,
Here's a battery icon mod (default gingerbread icon and cyanbread) with percentage
I got the images somewhere on xda, can't remember where.
Anyway, I resized all of the png's to mdpi size and added the animation/percentage modded xmls and compiled.
This is now Theme-Chooser compatible!!!!
Installation:
-Download the attachment
-Install apk as usual from a file manager
-Open theme chooser. Pick the one with the big blurry battery with 99 in it.
-Hit apply, then hit "apply anyway"
-You may need to reboot to properly apply
OLD:
This also includes my pattern unlock fix. (Actually I made the mod over a customized framework I use, and its late so I'll upload a version with only the battery mod later there's no point really... waste of time uploading with my slow connection. So you get both like it or not )
Get it here.
Screenshot below.
As usual, MAKE A NANDROID BACKUP FIRST!! Then flash in recovery and reboot. THIS IS ONLY FOR NIGHTLY 51 but it may work for a few others!! (should work between 50-57, confirmed on 50 and 57 see below for compatibility, try at your own risk)
Enjoy!
Updates
[20/2] Added patch for new nightly #2
[17/2] Added patch for nightly #59 RC1.
[14/2] Added a patch for the modded notification drop-down in the screenshot. (this can be flashed even without the battery mod)
[14/2] Added battery mod to Cyanbread! Its included in the zip now, just switch to cyanbread and you're done (Fun fact: I had to add 200 lines - one for each png - to the redirection xml to register all the png's) (also, sorry if the cyan is slightly off when compared to the original, it was the best i could do in photoshop [I hue'd all the green images])

Thanks for this Dude have you got a transparent notification bar in that screen shot? :O

works great on #50, thanks a lot!
edit: and I've just noticed that the lockscreen bubbles are now spaced correctly, in your previous fix they were a little bit squeezed horizontally.

Haha yeah... the notification drop-down is ugly imho so I've been photoshopping away at any image I can find related to it Maybe I'll upload it later.

Hmmm, really? I thought I fixed the not-square thing quite a while ago, maybe I uploaded the wrong file....

Update: Made the mod for cyanbread!!

Hi guys,
I tried that kitchen on my Wildifire CM7 build 52 (gingerbread):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=724778
http://circle.glx.nl
Modified only the battery icon.
Firstly it seemed to be working properly, but then my phone started crashing from time to time - terrible lags and very long response. It takes few minutes to reboot the phone when lags start.
I dont know what is the reason for lags - maybe it is because of CM7.
Can someone put the file in other place, because dropbox is banned at my work?
Thanks, nhnt11

Here ya go

Doesn't work on #59.I'd like to see the transparent bar

Yup. Framework mods never work when the rom's size changes.
Anyway, workin on patching the new framework now. will upload soon.
edit: for some reason its refusing to compile. even without any changes. strange...
edit2: figured it out. it was using the latest version of aapt which was in my SDK path... i redirected it to the one thats packaged with apktool and it worked. patch coming up

Update to nightly 59.
RC1 coming soon.
edit: 59 patch works on RC1

Doesn't work on #60.
Bar isn't transparent and the icons for apn, brightness and torch isn't available.
I'm looking forward to the next update, looks very awesome!

Update to the new nightly #2. Probably no more updates for a while tho as i have exams

Love the Battery Icon. I know you mentioned you have finals, but if you have the time, could you update it to work with Shinzul's [ROM][gginggerbread-6] - Wimax for cm. Will post the link below in case you don't have it. I believe they used CM7 nightly 40 for the rom. Love having Wimax on my Evo again. Thanks!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=902051

I have some time tomorrow, can you upload the framework-res.apk from the Rom please? Ill take a look. The evo is hdpi right?
Never mind, see post below.

You mention you had to use a different aapt for it to build properly..? Where is that?

It was bundled with apktool...
I recently added my sdk folder to path so it was using the aapt from the sdk (platform 2.3.3), and that didn't work.

UPDATE: WOOHOO!!!! just got this thing to work with the theme Chooser! This means no more updating to new nightlies!! And it will work on the evo by default
Now i really need to study and it needs a bit of polishing, so will upload tomorrow!

*sigh* I assume you're talking about windows...

What makes you say that? I personally despise windows... I'm on a hackintosh setup. Still wondering what made you think im on windows... lol
Btw, I think I might've misunderstood your question. What exactly did u mean by "where is that?"
Edit: I just saw your post in that guide thread. I didn't use the tmobile modified aapt, if that's what your asking.

What a crap , transparent bar doesn't work for me under Honeycomb Theme works for other themes.

No worries m8, just try using this Type Fresh, it's pretty simple.

Using metamorph. You need to have the /system overlay by BlaY0 installed to use metamorph. Have fun!

[THEMES] GingerBlur +1% Battery(2 Versions) and GalaxyBlur + 1% Battery

My Version of the GingerBlur framework given to us by kennethpenn with the 1% battery mod by shoux.
Battery + Charging Icons provided by _JKay_ over in the I9000 forums, and all others are courtesy of Samsung, lol.
Bios GingerBlur Boot Animation Edited by Krshaw18 is the provided bootanimation, as its the one I use.
This is only a mod to the GingerBlur framework, all I did was put all the pretty pictures in the right places... if you want to thank someone look above, donate to them.
Changes to GingerBlur framework --> Battery Icons, Signal Bars (1-4 are Silver, 5th is Green), Data Icons, and wifi signal.
*H icons are provided but 3G is the one constantly shown as thats the one I like.
Any Issues let me know, and I'll try and get to them tomorrow. However I am participating in a marathon this weekend so nothing may show til beggining next week.
THIS HAS ONLY BEEN TESTED ON MY PHONE(AT&T 4.1.83) I WOULD NOT TRY THIS ON ANY OTHER VERSION. I'M NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR TURNING YOUR PHONE INTO A PAPERWEIGHT.
Added the original GingerBlur for those requesting it.(Check Previews)
Added GingerBlur Ver2 = Original GingerBlur with the Battery Icons from GalaxyBlur (not tested, and no previews, but made the same way as the others)
All downloads are CWM Flashable Zips.
Download Galaxy Blur:

There's probably one available somewhere else (although my searches doesn't find anything), but can you make one with only the battery icons [for GingerBlur]? I quite like the current look but want batt. percentage. Would be greatly appreciated

Great, thanks! Will flash it later and let you know the result.
Not to sound really picky but I prefer the battery icon in the Galaxy version, but don't want the other replacement icons. Is it just a matter of unzipping the 'original' mod zip and replacing the icons within with the battery icons from the Galaxy version, then rezipping and flashing?
@others I believe GalaxyBlur is what you see in the first two images- ie data/3G/etc icons changed to the Samsung icons as well as the battery.

can i install this over GladiAtrix 3?
any battery drain after install themes?
GalaxyBlur is just the random placeholder I gave my theme due to most of the files I added being from the SGS II system dump. It'll get a more cleaver name soon.
And Yes, this will go perfectly fine over Gingerblur 3.1 and GladiAtrix 3

Thanks- that was unexpected
I guess I know what to do now if I find other icons that I like (and can stop bugging you ).
Downloading v2 right now, will update this post when complete.
EDIT: Flashed, no problem. First boot after that took some time (thought it had broken something lol) but it eventually got there.
One thing you should probably note in OP is that the animations are now changed (looks like CyanogenMod's...?). Personally I don't mind but I think some people would prefer the stock animations which are slightly less fancy.
Now if only I could get the launcher menu to fade in or pop up smoothly as opposed to having it just appear...

FYI, this Black Exodus 0.5 port is only for CM9. Running this theme on Onecosmic or ICS Passion could have side-effect or other undesired behavior, such as boot-looping, or random FCs.
Make a Nandroid before attempting to run this theme.

Yea backup is a must. Theme itself should be okay though. He used vrtheme format. I think it is kinda like morph as it only replaces images he changed in framework and sytemUI as opposed to whole apk. Anyways make a backup and flash.

Flashed through CWR with no issues, rebooted without issue
Looking through at first glance I can see things like the clock are still blue and the pull down quick toggle images are not lined up since the drop down in Passion is not the same as CM9

already reflashed so no pics. I flashed over a stock 10.5
Well, Nexus .pngs are bigger, if that CM9 port to the i9000 has resized all images, it's fairly easy to port them to ICS Passion, the only thing left would be to edit some xmls.
Not sure what .apks would work, but most of them should.

Not sure what .apks would work, but most of them should.

Rsfaze already flashed them so I would assume the PNG files are resized already.
According to rsfaze we just need someone to reorganize the status bar since passion has a toggle etc added to it

Easy enough.
Just delete SystemUI.apk (That's where the status bar things are.)
My SystemUI was working just fine.
If you're willing to try it, upload the SystemUI from this theme and link me to it.

I might play around with this some more, when I have some time. How is the Nexus S treating you? I'm still going back and forth on buying one or getting the Galaxy Nexus.
Here is the systemUI contents...http://www.multiupload.com/OKF7W8D5G8

It's awesome, man. I love it.
I'd go with the Nexus S, I don't see what the big hype of the GNexus is.
Thanks, now I need the ICS Passion SystemUI.
EDIT: Mind sending me the whole SystemUI from the white theme, too? I need to decompile it myself.
I put what i thought u wanted.
i got the systemui.apk straight from the .zip of ICS Passion
but for the theme, it was already a folder and to upload i had to zip it up, and it seems as if the theme has less files than normal...
I also put the entire theme as attachment.
attached:
-ICS Passion System UI
-Black Exodus System Ui ( i don't think its correct though it doesn't look the same as the Passion .apk)
-The entire theme black exodus
edit: the entire black exodus theme didn't seem to want to be a attachment after i waited 10 mins for it to upload on xda...
so i got it up on multiupload.
Here is the exodus theme

Transparent status bar theme

I'm on the quarx 2.16 nightly and was wondering if there's a theme out there that just makes the standard system theme have a transparent status bar (and maybe notification pull down too?)
I tried Orion theme, but don't like the miui style notification area. Is there a way to only use the status bar, but noneof the other mods (like icons, skinned dialer, etc.)?
I kinda like the simple system theme.
Thanks

Simply put no! Downloading a custom Rom is the only option @ this time.

GoLauncherEx have that option, and it's a very nice launcher.
I don't know if there is a theme that does that, :/
Quarx added that feature to his nightlies, and the Orion theme and others w/ transparent status bars work. I'm just wondering if there's a theme out there that has the transparency, but not too many other drastic changes to the look and feel.

I'm pretty sure that a quick search on xda would have bring you some answers on this...but anyway..Read the second post of this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1448310
It might look long and complicated but itsn't so; it only takes 3-4 minutes to do after you've done it once...
On the first post there I even gave a transparent theme that I've moded.
Read all: pretty much every themes for cm7 can be made transparent but not every launchers support them and they might also require additional quick settings.
Cheers

Thanks,
I had read that post, but i didn't make it allthe way to the bottom, where i guess the answer i'm looking for is located. sorry. I guess I stopped reading, becasue i tought it would only work on the nightly you mentioned in the post. I was glad Quarx included the ability to have a transparent status bar, so i wasn't sure if changing all those files would be necessary.
I guess I'll get to work, figuring out which combo makes a good semi-transparent status bar. I wish there was a setting to control that (and notification area also?)
Yet another project making me step deeper into the world of Android. To think that when i got my defy (my first and only smartphone) i had no intention of rooting or anything. I guess that's what happens when the phone doesn't work well to begin w/
You can have a look here to get an idea on what to expect.
You know that an apk is basically a zip file right? So you could also get the 4 files with modified opacity (transparency) from my theme there and replace them in the SystemUI.apk of the nightly build you are using.
The only 'tricky' part in all this is to replace that SystemUI.apk on the system once those files are changed [and that you've used baksmali/smali to edit that 1 line in the statusbar.service file]. But really not a big deal with Terminal if you follow my instructions.
Lastly, I'd also suggest you to try Maniac103's latest nightly (Feb20th) because he fixed quite a few things lately and [to save you some work] I've already gave a CWM zip patch with transparency for it here - but read on there, I included 1 or 2 additional things in it like a different font... If just you just want transparency; you can pull the SystemUI.apk from the patch and use Terminal again to replace it on your phone.
EDIT: sorry! I just remembered that the patch doesn't contain those 4 modded png; only the one line change. So my theme would have transparency but not CM7 themes or others [without changing png anyway].
Anyhow: such a long answer...but if all that helped you in anyway -which I hope-, you can click that "Thanks" button
Cheers.
