[Q] Widgetlocker, FingerScan, Volume Keys - Atrix 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I am using Widgetlocker because of the ability to unlock with the keys on the side of the Atrix (volume keys).
But after unlocking the screen it is impossible to immediately use the fingerprint scanner to unlock the phone.
What is the correct setup to get Widgetlocker unlock the phone.
Expected behavior:
1 The screen is dark
2 Press the Volume key to have the Widgetlocker-Screen visible
3 Swipe the finger [not working]
4 Phone is unlocked [not working]
Currently I have to press the Back button after step 2 to see the Motorola/Atrix Unlock screen (where I can swipe the finger and unlock), which is annoying.
Any ideas? Thanks for any input.

Sounds like you just have conflicting lock screens. I would try lockbot it disables the system lock.

Thanks for your feedback, was checking on the market.
But as far as seen no Vol. Key support - instead I have to shake it (probably as well not the best way in business)...

I use No Lock. This allows me to wake my phone with the volume rocker rather than the power button..which I prefer. If I'm going out and about somewhere I feel like I want the fingerprint scanner on..I simply turn the lock back on.

Even though WidgetLocker doesn't prompt you to swipe your finger it should stil accept it. Can you confirm you're trying this?
I have a beta that improves reliability of using the fingerprint scanner. Let me know by email if you'd like to try the beta.

Hi,
I can confirm that it sometimes works probably after I started the phone.
But later it is not possible (at least for me), so my question was what are the correct settings to get this behaviour. I would like to check - if it's my fault.
If it works - you are right - only swipe and it's unlocked.
But the usual way is that it is not working, so I have no chance I have to press the back button (to get the stock lock screen where swipe is possible).
Thanks for your help.

Challange! Lock Device On Power Off/screen Off.

I have been trying to Find a Macro Mapper or some kind of 3rd party ap to lock my device when i press the power button. The only work around at this time is to use Lock Device with 4 number pin and 0min lock setting. however i am tired of constantly pressing digits and would rather use native Lock Function that requires bottom left tap to unlock than middle right side tap to confirm unlock. However, it is only initiated from a Lock on screen tap.
IF anyone knows how to enable this lock by pressing the power button which is in my case on the right side of my mogul(PPC6800) that shuts off the screen and powers down to standby i would greatly appreciate it. this is also a replacement for S2U which has a few bugs with slide out keyboard and memory leaks.
Try this...
http://www.vijay555.com/?Releases:VJDeviceLock
there is a program by spb that has this funtion... I don't know the name of it but i will look around. I don't remember the specifics of it, but there was a check box that says to lock teh device when you hit the powerbutton (or anytime the display turns off)
i believe it is SPB mobile shell
"Device Lock
Spb Mobile Shell 1.5 improves usability of device locking. Now you can lock your device using a hardware key, soft key on Today or a shortcut. You can also unlock the device using only soft keys. When your device is locked the Now Screen shows you the most important information, so in most cases you don't even need to unlock the device. "

you can at least try it out and see if it does what you want.
damn i apparently didn't didn't read all of your post... so you don't want to use slide2unlock.. hmm i guess your best bet is to try spb mobile shell and play with the options to see if you can get it to do what you want -- unless of course someone wiser than me knows of something else.
::ignore below:::
it turns out that what i was really was thinking of was slide2unlock
http://ac.xenpage.eu/S2U2-0.99c-WM5.rar
(from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=353008)
options:
lock when device wakes up --- on/off
lock when backlight turns off ---on/off
power off in --- (time in S)
but blank screen only -- on/off
blank screen on talk -- on/off
then it has some other options for how it looks -- but if you don't mind doing the slide bar to unlock the phone it will do what you want.

[Q] you can use the button trackpad for unlock?

you can use the button trackpad for unlock?
you can use the button trackpad for unlock?
Learn to use the search function please. You can use trackpad to unlock if you run a custom Rom with that mod. E.g. cyanogenmod or wild puzzle.
Installed widget locker on my Buzz and enabled easy wake in its settings (meaning pressing any hardware buttons will wake the phone). Hope this helps.
Hi, I installed trackballunlock.zip from wildpuzzle on my 2.1 stock ROM with OC kernel. For most of the time it works but sometimes you have to use both power and trackball to unlock.
Try Lockbot pro
Try Lockbot pro..it works seemlessly..the screen gets unlocked on any key like volume button, trackball etc...
On the down side of all these apps, the incoming call lock screen too come up with a NO LOCK, with only Answer and Decline buttons which might accidentally make us to answer/decline the calls

[Q] Any Way to Press Power Button Twice to Turn On?

I hate using the slider to unlock the phone, and the fingerprint reader is nice but can miss sometimes. I'd rather just be able to push the power button twice to wake & go to Home (just like pressing Menu twice on the G1 to wake).
Does anyone know of a way to do this? Are there any programs that can get rid of the slider screen?
Search for a program called NO LOCK in the market. I don't like having to swipe to unlock either...
That's exactly what I was looking for! Thanks
Awesome! Glad I could help.

[Q] Can't unlock MIUI o.O

Hi!
Just now I took my phone and simply can't unlock it. I have MIUI with custom lockscreen theme and for now it was working good. But now I can double tap on clock to show music controls and I can answer calls but I can't unlock it
When I put my finger on starting point of the slider it doesn't even vibrate.
Please - fast help
show me you lock screen, maybe you don't know slide where
You could re-flash the ROM without a wipe. That will return you to default without loosing anything.

Try pressing lock button repeatedly or remove battery and switch off and start again. If you're lucky it'll work.

There is a way to unlock only with keys. Hold Volume UP and Back key. Works on every lockscreen.
Maybe it will be helpful for anybody.

Fingerprint scanner used instead of on-screen keys.

I would love to turn off the on-screen soft keys. The problem I am having is that I use my fingerprint instead of a password for access to certain apps, like banking.
However, when I try to use the fingerprint to unlock the app what happens is that the screen returns to home, which is what it's technically supposed to do. But this negates being able to unlock an app with the fingerprint and I really do not want to go back to using a long password for this.
Another smaller issue is that when I use the on-screen soft keys both the scanner and the middle (home) soft key do the same thing...they both take you back to the home screen.
I feel that if I am using the on screen soft keys that the fingerprint scanner should ONLY unlock the phone, or a designated app, and conversely if I use the fingerprint scanner exclusively to move through screens and recently opened apps that I should still be able to unlock an app without the scanner taking me back to home and prematurely closing the app.
Am I making sense here?? Anybody find a way to do this?
