question for all the themers: what file controls text color in noti bar and sub menus - Vibrant Themes and Apps

kinda like this? i wanna use it in my theme, but don't know how to get the notification and menu texts in red....like this from captivate's darkfire red:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
does anyone already have this done for the vibrant?
cause i'm trying to use a transparent, but slightly themed notification bar, but it looks weird when using browser and other white based apps. so i'm trying to change the color.

They are xmls in the layout folder go through them all the ones that say status. The color codes are in them. You have to decompile them edit then recompile

^^^^
Correct, they are also controlled in framework-res.apk/res/values/styles.xml

im gonna try this tonight....i put a themed transparent notifcation bar, and when using something white-based, like browser, you can't see the clock or notification text....so i would also like to change the colors on those. is it in the same file(styles.xml)?
@apocalypse: i'm gonna follow your tutorial on the team whiskey forums to change the clock color.

I'm trying to fix this, actually...

edit: i'm gonna try putting a dark transparent layer over it. see if it helps.....
cause having to edit xmls is kinda over my head....

^ I'm trying to learn too. Use Notepad++ to open/edit/save the .xml files.
Master had a great thread on how to use APK Manager that REALLY helped me. And all of our great developers/themers have been so gracious.
I'm working on a community honeycomb theme, check that thread for help as some of the guys posted what to do, and I have a link to the guide I referenced.

Also, I added color changes for the following:

I just flashed this and it didnt change my notifications bar. it only changed the png files for the battery, everything else is exactly the same as stock Bionix V 1.3.1
Thanks for this. It looks great!
My bad the screenshot does show a different notification bar, you will still get the stock 1.3.1 bar!
There is one other minor customization in regards to the battery that the UOT doesn't do, you might notice it in the proper lock screens that display charging status
Im using that Neon theme and I have a white bar.

If you flash this over another theme it will break the appearance of your theme. That is the way it works.

Thanks... I flashed it once before and it sent my phone into bootloop. I had reflashed 1.3.1 and flashed it on the fresh install and it worked perfectly.

[Q][THEMING]How to change text color of title of a Dialog??

Hello people!! I want some help on theming my frameork-res.apk. I've done almost all things to look it like that of ICS, but now, the only thing I am stuck at is the Text Color of the Title of a dialog. I want to change it to blue like that of ICS.
I am talking about this:-
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
The above is the Dialog of the ICS Rom. Here, the text color of the Title of dialog is Blue. My framework-res.apk is from FroYo, so the Title text color of dialog is white there. This is thing I want to change.
I know that it's in values/styles.xml, but which style inside it?? I see "Theme.Dialog" inside it, there are the following lines:-
Which thing under this I need to modify?? Is that @style/TextAppearance" or "@color/primary_text_dark/light", etc.???
Pleeease Help Me!!! I am struggling since a week for this!! ANY HELP IS APPRECIATED!!!!
windowTitleStyle looks promising (if not, you'll need to probe one by one )

I tried it!! It's linked to style-- DialogWindowStyle.
There's a color for text appearance in this style. I changed this color to Blue like ICS. BUT DON'T KNOW WHY, IT DOESN'T WORK!!

Have you checked the settings apk? I have found sometimes things are set there instead of reffering to the stock framework. Mainly with the huge diff in froyo and ICS theming set up

Request a theme by Hex Value?

Hi all,
So I am an avid theme flasher and have seen some nice themes for our phone here on XDA. I am currently on AOKP (latest build) and have noticed that most themes for it are pretty similarly themed, the overall color of theme being the main difference. Now I am no way an experienced developer/coder so correct me if I am wrong, but could a simple change of the overall hex value make same theme a different color? I really like the infinitum themes but the hex color value I would like is #ff39f7ba, leaving everything themed the way it is.
If somebody is able to do this I would be willing to contribute . If not please don't just tell me "how bout you go make it yourself", I would prefer a helpful push in the right direction. Thanks to all developers of these ROMs and themes I am able to enjoy everyday!
Here are examples of the basic idea of the color theming I am requesting, but with the hex color value i provided (no need for glowing):
{

"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Not very feasible. For your idea to work it would have to parse the theme files and themes aren't necessarily coded the same.

Ah makes sense. I attempted to read jivy's thread on how to theme but I was not sure if that applied to theming ICS as well since the thread is a little dated. Thanks for the info though.

Question about making themes, I need YOUR Help Themers.

Hey XDA, I have just took a small dive into themes by theming the Facebook app. I'll show you what I've got:
Pic: ( I would upload more but yeah Photobucket wont let me.)
{

"lightbox_next": "Next",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
But what I want to know, is how to change the blue background in the login screen to another color, and how to change the blue bar at the top of the app.
I've tried everything, and I need help. Thanks.

If You couldn't find any pic for that in drawable-hdpi, so it is probably in color folder. It is color defined I think, no background picture

So is it an XML?
Also I changed one called minichrome_bar.PNG or something like that but it had no effect.
