Can't get flash 10.3 - Thunderbolt Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I cant update to flash player 10.3. every time i try it says install unsuccessful package wasnt signed correctly. this is on both the latest virusrom and on das bamf 1.6.3. both roms come with 10.2 pre installed so i cant remove them... is it something about it conflicting with built in apps or what?

I'm on virus Rom and what I had to do was uninstall flash via titanium backup, REBOOT, very important, then try to redownload. I did that and worked like a charm.
SENSELESS INFECTION using XDA Premium App

definately need the reboot after uninstalling too

Thanks ill be sure to try that! forgot i could uninstall apps in titanium

Apps wont install HELP

I have looked around and tried many things, but cant seem to find a solution that works. I am unable to install any app market or not, i just flashed bamf 1.7 did 2 wipes before install, have proper radio...astro installed from market just fine after first boot, only thing i have done since is install the theme pack from the cubed rom. Do you think that could do it? I have wiped data and cache on market as well as framework and gtalk...i have tried a lot...trying to avoid reflashing rom again...only flashed 1.7 bc apps stopped installing on 1.6.3

That definitely did it. There was a problem in one of the add-on files for Cubed ROM. He updated it the other day, but it still seems to intermittently cause that same issue on my phone. Unfortunately, the only way to definitely fix it is to flash back to the backup you made when you installed the Cubed themes. You did do a backup, right?

Google Services Framework force closing

Google Services Framework keeps force closing multiple time a day after installing BAMF Ginger Remix 2.1.

Did you flash it from froyou to remix or did you have beta prior to 2.1? I had the same problem when I went form the beta to 2.1 and did a full titanium backup, which I was told can cause all sorts of issues when loading an entirely new Rom. So if you did a titanium back up, go back and reflash and do just a restore of apps and data but no system data. I did this and it worked fine.
Yup. Restored system from Titanium Backup. I will reflash.
Thanks fellas!

Can I just do a fresh install? Get my apps from Market and NOT use TB at all?

That is the "cleanest" way. Restoring from TB is sometimes more trouble than it's worth

I had the exact same problem, and reflashing did the trick. I'm convinced my original FC problems were because of my restoration of EVERYTHING with titanium. after my 3rd reflash, i just restored the apps i needed....and data on the apps that automatically installed through the market
google services framework crashing
When you refer to reflashing are you referring to the process of full wiping and reinstalling the 2.1 remix Rom. or reflashing the MR2 radio from hboot? Sorry if this seems like a dumb question. I have reloaded the ROM three times and am still getting this google services issue. Any help is appreciated. Thanks guys.

Just reflashing the ROM.
I did that and it still errors
I flashed the ROM without touching Titanium Backup and everything is working perfect now. No force closes. Titanium Backup was the problem. I won't be using it again.
no you can use it. say for instance if you flashed bamf gingerRemix and did a titanium backup of all user apps and system data. after installing you do just the missing apps and data.
NOW, say you flashed bamf standard just to check it out and see the difference..now you can run a full apps and system restore.
Its when you go from froyo to GB or if you had a completely different rom like LiquidRom and flashed Bamf. you wouldn't want to do a full restore. But if you went from Remix to just standard OR bamf remix 1.7 to bamf remix 1.8 you could still do a full restore.

I was having the same problem, and used this same solution. Very selective TB use is key!

its not a matter of selective, its knowing when you can use a full restore and when it will mess things up.

Miui 1.9.2.3- No Root!

Ok, I had been running miui v1.9.3.0 but it had too many glitches and bugs, so I downgraded to v1.9.2.3 and soon realized that titanium backup no longer works, due to no root access. I've gone into superuser and turned on the superuser permissions, i've tried reflashing, rebooting, using Odin and going back to stock and reflashing... everything! But whenever I use titanium backup, "no root access"! What happened?! Please, someone help...

remove everything and anything that relates to superuser. use rootexplorer or something and search it, and then remove everything, and then odin.
Then root using superoneclick or something like that.
That may do the trick.
maybe you had like a bad binary or something? idk
Can you tell me the directories to look for?

I honestly don't know either, i'd just search the whole phone. Remove anything with superuser on it.

Grrrr... I still can't find any SU related files and folders and I have a question. Shouldn't using Odin to go back to stock fix this issue? I've repeatedly flashed back to stock in hopes of resolving this issue but none of my attempts worked...

ADDITIONAL INFO: Also, the reason for this issue could be because I tried to update superuser with an app in the market and another bit of info is that although Titanium Backup and some other root apps don't work, SetCPU and a few other root apps do work. So I'm in a vey confusing situation.

Oh...
Uhm, a question, the stock odin files that you have, are they TOTAL stock? like no root? or is it one of the rooted ones?
Can you go back into the market, go into superuser, and try to uninstall it? or go into settings>applications> and then go into superuser and it should say like undo update or something? Maybe those can fix?
Has titanium backup been allowed superuser before? Has SetCPU been allowed superuser before? If it has been done before, that may be why some work and some don't.
Yes, they should be totally stock. I downloaded them from "s15274n". And also, I'm not sure if you're familiar with MIUI but it has its own version of superuser that comes with it that's different from the one downloaded from the market... So this is a very confusing problem... Also, Titanium did work before and I never had issues until I tried updating the SU bianary and busybox. It seems as if odin isn't cleaning up everything, but I'm not sure... I made a big mistake thinking that the market SU app could update MIUI's SU bianary and now I can't seem to truly start from scratch...
This is a feature, I assume, as MIUI will soon be preinstalled on phones (MI-One). All you need to do is go into the Super User app after flashing MIUI, hit menu -> settings (I think) and check to enable root.
No ODIN, no reflash, just that. It's not just the Vibrant, and I think it's the new norm for MIUI.
That's the thing though, I've already turned on superuser in it's settings. I'm not sure what to do...

Then that's just weird. Try reverting a few weeks? I understand the last 2-3 weeks has been pretty bad.
uninstall Titanium Backup and Reinstall Via Market. Titanium can bug out when you restore it via backup or when you try using it after a OS update
also verify your Superuser App (the one thats preinstalled in Miui) Has both "Manage Permissions, and Root Permissions" Enabled

he prob. Forgot to enable root permissions.
Actually, I did have root permissions enabled. But when I restored titanium and other root apps with miui's built in backup/restore utility I guess it just made them glitchy. Uninstalling and reinstalling all the apps that need root solved the problem. Thanks "boystuff"!

can't reinstall angrygps on Passion v13

I disabled angrygps as I read some people freeze it to resolve gps problem. That didn't help and I wanted to enable it but I can't find it in the apps list anymore. So I uninstalled it using Titanium backup and reinstalled it. The icon still didn't appear. A few more things happened and my backup disappeared too! I extracted the signedangrygps.apk from the rom and copied it into system/apps, changed the permission and reboot. Still don't see it. Click to install and it say "Application not installed". I tried flashing without wipe. Still nothing. How can I reinstall the app? Is full wipe the only way out?
Not sure... I even pulled angrygps from passion and extracted into cm9 and works.

Can't get root access

Hey everyone. I seem to be in a little trouble here.
I had rooted my phone a while ago. I odexed some apps, superuser included. Now, superuser started crashing on me randomly. I tried unrooting and rooting again. But it seems like the odex file is causing issues, not letting superuser work it's magic.
I can uninstall any apps, even system ones via flashtool. But I can't reinstall apps that had gotten odexed. And they aren't working properly, just like superuser. I can't seem to think of a way to delete the odex file, since to get root I need to delete the odex file.
Is there any way for me to maybe wipe my system? Or just delete that odex file? I don't have CWM installed. I somehow remember reading of installing CWM without root, but I'm not so sure anymore.
Full wipe, clearing, deleting. Anything you've got to offer would be nice. Anything that works.
EDIT: Also, I don't have access to the Google Play store app. That crashed too.

Tried that. Didn't help. Just get's rid of the installation of non sytem apps. Everything else is pretty much intact.
I even tried installing another superuser. Didn't work either.
In fact, flashtool says root access exists. While other apps like android commander and qtadb don't seem to think so.
EDIT: Solved, thanks. What I initially had was only the kernel. Wiped and flashed. Back to normal now. Thanks.
