Re-style your 2.1 Eclair: lock screen and launcher - XPERIA X8 Themes and Apps

For those of you who still use 2.1 eclair, but try to add a better looking face:
- agile lock - free - on the market: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.nanoha.SenseScreen&feature=search_result
- Xperia Active Launcher : working on stock, I am using it from 3 days already, no FC, taken from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1187008 - post 30
Then, if you have cypress chip (but also Dx module for synaptics) - if you need dual touch module "ax8mt" by ANDyX, you may need this toolbox (by puppet13th) to install hassle free ( and also the other goodies: CWM, dual recovery, etc.) : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1117100
Reasons : If you use your device as a PHONE, as primary function, you might think twice on installing any ROM....but this does not mean it HAS to look ugly (especially teh lockscreen of 2.1.)...decision is yours.
Hope this is usefull,
Cheers,

I get FC when trying to use Active Launcher on 2.1update1..
"Sorry! The application Xperia Active (process com.sonyericsson.home) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again. "

That one was version 20, I believe. Trust me, on my 2.1. works this version. Rooted, JIT enabled, ax8mt module installed with the x8toolbox by puppet13-th. Donno if JIT has anything to do with it, or maybe Busybox? Thing is, it works.

I'm rooted with Busybox installed.. Just checked and it's busybox V1.15.3, maybe old version??
I dont have JIT installed or ax8mt. Might try updating busybox and installing JIT.
It attempts to start and I see the 4 launcher corners appear but FC's straight away before I can attempt to use it.

If you read the original thread, there were some similar reports. And on other devices it worked. Not sure why ....sorry for the excitement, on mine it works.

This app seems to be V20 ??
Reboot didnt help. I might try installing new busybox.. Although a quick search I noticed someone lose xrecovery after updating busybox from market.. I'll search and read some more to make sure everything will be ok if I start messing with busybox..

no, wait, use the x8toolbox. It will help you install JIT and busybox both. And this way U skip the market step.

thx i'll give that a try..

Right. Thing is the other apk's of the original thread cannot be installed on 2.1. since they are compiled for CM7 (2.3.x).

ok. Installed busybox 1.18.4 using x8toolbox and lost xrecovery. rebooted fone and flashed xrecovery back to fone. Installed JIT. quadrant score went to 512 (woo! )
I have Xrecovery back. Busybox 1.18.4 installed, JIT installed. then...
I Installed the Xperia Active and it still doesnt work.. FC again!..
ah well not to worry.. Glad you got it working on yours..

Oh, one other thing, no idea if it is important or not.
I use link2sd and I have a FAT 32 ext. partition. So, when I installed it, automatically was moved (link) there. Maybe this way I don't have the conflict you were mentioning?
Cheers, sorry for that...

One theme
Guys, great theme done by AChep & D-Shel that works on stock, to restyle your X8, you can find here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1214655
Credits go to them, AChep and D-Shel who are doing a great job, again.
...Still, that agile lock screen really does the trick, in my oppinion.
Cheers,

how to return it to its original state?.,

Uninstall apk? Or go back to backup in order to remove theme?

Ok I downloaded and installed this thing. But can someone please tell me what does it.do?
Is there any app that uses this feature?
Interesting but.. what's the reason to do that?
Where this feature can be used, in a simple use of defy?
Well theres a multitouch enabled drumkit on the market
Nice App, but just a gimmick yet. There are not enough apps which use this.

thanks works pretty good
well I have MIUI 1.9.9 running and also have installed 2nd init 0.8.6 but there seems to be a problem.
If I install 2nd init again and run multi touch enabler it works flawlessly, but when i restart the OS doesn't load and keeps showing me the bootmenu.
Then i just install the 1.9.9 from recovery again and then i can't use multi touch enabler and it wont install.
To make it work i have to repeat the whole process again. Not sure where I am going wrong .. hmm..
Nice. Thanks.
2 fingers it's sufficient
not when you are trying to play piano on your mobile .. you need atleast 3-4 enabled for it to work well
well, anyone can tell me the best number for Defy without force restart ?
Some say 10, some say 5.
I'm kinda confusing.

Are you using a custom ROM? Custom ROMs for the X10 mini & mini pro use a chargemon shell script which is run using "busybox sh". I have seen some busybox versions around compiled without "sh". Maybe that is the problem. Try to call "busybox sh" in any terminal in your phone after updating busybox and before rebooting.
try stericson's app: https://market.android.com/details?id=stericson.busybox

which rom you've installed via seus?
btw, MiN is a stock rom with cwm, so you don't have to follow seus+root+cwm route
as i wrote before, stericson's application does the job. if you don't like the idea of installation an app for it, just install it once then rip busybox as the newest appropriate version and keep it for future.

It wont let us do it, always brick device.

Nope. Xperia plus v10 is being made right now This is a whole NEW ROM which is so light! Has no major amazing features. Its just ready for you guys to start customizing with all your mods and add-ons!
Did you read my mind? These past few days I've been thinking how nice it would be if a developer here could cook up a completely stripped down, clean and mean GB ROM. And here you are. Thank you Apmartin. I'll be installing it and will give feedback.
PS Can I still get widgets from other external apps to place on my home screen?

I had some problems installing Xperia Slim and cannot use it, even before getting out of the starting gate. The problem seem to center around superuser permission. But here are my experiences.
1. You can't use Lupus GB. This will result in bootloops. Changed to Night Elf v10 Experimental (couldn't find v 10.1 Experimental) and the phone booted off just fine.
2. The lightness and speed of the ROM was just great. The feel of this ROM is the best of any other ROM I've tried. This is exactly the kind of ROM I want.
3. Tried to update the Supeuser binary. But it kept telling me that "Superuser was denied superuser permission" no matter how many times I tried. Installed SuperSU through CWM (this automatically removes Superuser). But when I tried to enter SuperSU the app froze. I tried this many times. Did a full wipe and installed Xperia Slim again. After the settling in period I went into Settings -> Applications and Force Closed Superuser and Cleared Data. Rebooted. Now I could update the binary.
4. Before installing all my usual apps directly from the Play Store I will always install Link2SD first. I have a 1GB Ext4 partition for it. All my apps, when installed, will roughly take up over 600MB. But Link2SD could not mount the script saying that "Root access was denied", again and again. So I uninstalled Link2SD and installed S2E. But when I checked the storage status in S2E I found that the Ext4 partition could not be mounted. Maybe it cannot recognize Ext4 partitions.
5. There was nothing else I could do. So I restored a nandroid backup I made before installing Xperia Slim.
I really like the feel of this ROM and would like to be able to use it. But I need to get Link2SD working first. Please help. :crying:

Thank you. That was quick. Downloading now. Is there a Neo V patch? Or, v2 does not need one?
Will wait for your advice before installing.
EDIT
Just read your OP again and noticed there is an Aroma Installer. Guess I can choose Neo V from there. Will install now and let you know how it goes. Thanks again.

This mod work very well but i have little problem with version 2.0. I have lg l9 ii with stock 4.1.2 jb on it, version 1.0 work with viper4android and it sound great but when i installed version 2.0 on clean rom (ofc still 4.1.2 jb) system run good without any issues or fcs but after installing viper i cant run it...! I dont know why but viper cant just run, it is in app drawer but when i click it make screen black for 3 sec and come back to app drawer wiothout any screens or something, he should ask about su permissions and install drivers but this not happen. Ofc super su and busy box are installed and work good, dont know why it happen, i tried install viper later extreme and first extreme later viper in both ways still same problem. I come back to 1.0 because viper for me is a must, maybe you people know how to fix it. Installing viper as system app dont change anything, i tried to add viper drivers on my own by copying its file from old system to lib folder and adding necessary lines in audio_effect.conf but app still cant run
I have installed ver 1.0 on my sgs 3. I am running CM 11 on KitKat 4.4.4 . I use Nova Launcher. I do not see the icon to run the EBS program. I looked in the appp drawer for it with no luck. I do see the build prop entries in my buildprop. Poweramp loads and runs fine. Can any one assist me? BTW, I did try to install ver 2 and ver 2 update. Separately of course. The fc behavior reported by others happened to me. I restored backup then installed version 1. Please advise how to locate the icon to use this program. TIA. Gary

Their is no app to say anything is open. Just trust the buildprop lines.

Opss, until now I found problem with my phone: even I install busybody 15 or 18, then flash this mod (v2), then I found nothing add into my system/app and system/framework, ... only string was add into my build.prop. I don't know why, but before I installed successful this mod, with full file in this zip into my system, now didn't, even I mount system in recovery before flash zip. My phone is rooted, of course. Anyone like that?
hey guys,
I've installed this mod and I have a question.
Is there any app where I can configurate settings like in viper4android? Or is this mod made of various libs and Service's running in the background without a primary app?

More specific please... EB version? do you have custom kernel installed or just stock kernel from rom? do you mount /system before flashing EB? The best way to install EB is after flashing the new rom. You need to mount /system then flashing EB. Reboot. After that install v4a and its drivers. Reboot again. If you follow that method and found it's not working try another version of EB. If the problem still persists, seems like it come from your rom side not supporting it.

Pls tell where is the download link of zip file
i flashed version 2.1 on my evo 4g lte with TWRP recovery and it flashed fine, but when i rebooted and played music, it stayed the same. Was an app supposed to be installed or something? I have Viper4android installed already, but extremebeats doesnt show up anywhere...are there more steps besides flashing with recovery?
Stock Rom?
I'm new in this kind of topics. Does it work with a Stock Rom?
This mod doesn't work on my HTC One M8. Android 4.4.4 3.28.xxx.x Rooted Stock, S-on. Tried it a bunch of times with different practices, it just soft bricks the phone every time.
OP, what can you say about this? It says in your page that my device is supported but it doesn't work. Or maybe it's just me, what should I do if it is? Help please, I'm really eager to have this mod.
