download the apk and extract the icon from it

Just put in /system/app n set permissions (rw-r-r).
It'll work on Xperia P too, but i don't know if it looks good, so please let me know.

Probably yes but first look at the path in system/..... take a copy of your stock framework-res and if doesn´t work replace the file inside the zip for the yours and flash it again.

you have to install it with a custom recovery.
