It is 1000 times better than the Motorola stock music app, and it is a speed demon. This is specially for people who prefer Pure Android Experience

Can't tell a difference between this version and the old version.

Thanks for the post. Looks good!

No but you can stream from Google Music. Motocast is proprietary, best to get away from it and start using a cloud service that will be compatible with any device.

[REQUEST] Honeycomb stock Music.apk

Hi. I've just flashed the touchWiz UX recently and found that the original/stock Honeycomb music interface is much more beautiful. Can anyone send me the .apk file please.
Thank you in advance!
Google music from the market is essentially the same thing.

The issue is that the app is not avaible in the market for the European Samsung Galaxy tabs.
I would really want the APK since im in the Music Beta, but I have to side load the software to the phone and now to the tab.

When download is done click on it then install. You might have to have unknown sources checked off in settings/applications/development

Works great, my google music beta invite just arrived too.
Thanks!
My only complaint is that you can't select the EXTERNAL Sd card to store the offline music vs the limited internal storage.
Nice but samsung player is better cause it has notification bar and lockscreen controls and equalizer.

Have you guys noticed how bad the background looks, it drips with banding , it's REALLY bad , i find it funny than installed the music player on my inspire 4g and the banding it's gone i thought it was an android issue not a galaxy s ii issue

Google Music Issues

me too!
Is it a conspiracy to let users only use MotoCast 's Music app , not google's??
I can...but it takes a really long time for them to start....at first it wouldn't so I hit pause and backed out of the app...and about 10 seconds later the song magically started playing....weird....

Hey guys I cant even get my library of music to show up. Mine is just blank. Any ideas?
I had this problem on the bionic and was able to fix it using the following steps. I deleted the pre loaded music app using root explorer, but I would try it first leaving the app alone, who knows it may still work.
1) Go to manage apps
2) select the downloaded Google music app
3) wipe the data
That's it! Load up the app and it should prompt you to allow the app to link with your Google account.

As an fyi I tested the above on my razor without deleting moto's music app and it worked fine. Cheers!

Have you tried playing the songs? My issue isn't linking the account or loading the library but getting the songs to actually play...

Dang, well not quite sure what is up with my phone. At least I have the motocast for now.

I don't have a Razr but I have run into this a couple times. On mine, I'd click the song and it would just say something like failed to play the stream, or some such thing. Anyway, you are limited to 7 devices on Google Music. If you do a lot of flashing roms, each time you flash a new one, it's counted as one device.
If this is the case, you have to go to Google Music using a web browser on a PC and delete some of the devices listed there. To do this, click the gear icon at the top right of the page, then music settings. You'll find them there.
You sir deserve a genius award
Sent from my DROID RAZR using xda premium
LOL, I don't know about that. Talk to my friends and family and find out about all the stupid things I've done in my life and you might have second thoughts about that one. Anyway, from the sound of it, it sounds like you got the problem fixed. Glad to hear it.
If you ask me, it's kind of stupid on Google's part. The error message I mean. Don't know if it comes from the Android OS or directly from Google Music but it seems to me they could program it to tell you that you have too many devices attached to the account. The way it is now, you are just left in limbo. Oh well, all's well that ends well I guess.

Try TinyShark which is a grooveShark client to listen to music, and try TinyShark Downloader to download music. It is the best mp3 downloader, in the market, trust me!

Those having trouble finding songs on these apps, try going to Google and typing "Artist-Song hulkshare" if you didn't know already.

This thread is going the wrong way.
Linking to removed apps from teh market (bcause they contained or linked to illegal sites/downloads) is illegal aswell in XDA. Cmon guy, think about it, you wouldnt want XDA closed too just because of a simple link now wouldnt you?

Alternate music player?

So I'm looking for a program that looks like Google Music and will list all the tracks I have on my phone in a list sortable either by band or album. Google Music has for the past couple days refused to play anything that's not streaming and even when streaming it sometimes tell me it can't play the selected stream. I can use root explorer and play the files on my phone individually but when selected in Google Music it says sorry can't play selected track. I think I'm gonna try winamp if this thread gets no replies. Thanks in advanced for your help guys!

I've actually been having the same problem with my google music as well. would you happen to be on a ROM? or just stock phone?
I tried out the free demo of poweramp and i actually liked it quite a bit. Winamp was also very good for me and it let me wirelessly sync to my laptop to boot!!
Edit: Spelling and Grammar

I have the issue using both aokp and shostock2. Haven't tried on a stock rom but I have little interest in going back to stock just for Google Music. I like face unlock too much. =P I don't want a music manager on my computer. Do you think I can plausibly use winamp and just ignore the sync component conpletely? I think I'll look into poweramp for now. Thanks for the suggestion. =]

I use Player Pro - and one warning about winamp - I could not get the phone app to stop looking for the desktop component that wasn't there - which meant it was draining the battery something nasty continually pinging the network.
This was a couple of months ago - they might have fixed it, but just be aware.
I had cloud skipper before flashin ics and it was cool but didn't ever think bout getting it again been using stock player and it's fine but I see alot of ppl sayin power amp might check it out
