Cases?.... - Eee Pad Transformer Accessories

I recently got this tablet, and purchased a leather type of case (the kind you can fold back to prop it up...here: http://www.ebay.com/itm/CaseCrown-Bold-Standby-Case-Asus-Transformer-Pad-BK-/180690088957?pt=US_Tablet_Accessories&hash=item2a11f7f3fd)...
and now I am thinking that I may like something else better like perhaps a sleeve or a carrying case of some sort, but I do not want anything big or bulky because I picture that I will put it inside of my backpack anyways....
for example, I was currently thinking of one of these, or a variation of...

I figured the extra pouches can serve as a spot to hold the charger and whatever else accessories I happen to have at the time..
Please give me your opinions and recommendations, I am open to all..

I am also considering the sleeve, I simply want something cheap to protect the device some when I put it inside a suitcase/backpack. Wonder if anyone used these?

I use the Case Logic VNA214 14.1 inch attache, and the AYL Leather Cover Case Folio for Asus Eee Pad Transformer from Amazon.com.
(sorry there are no links, I haven't posted enough yet)
The bag is perfect, holds everything i need with the TF: Bluetooth mouse, charger for TF, charger for phone. Keyboard dock (even when not in use), head phones, notebooks, etc. Main thing I like about the case is that it let's the transformer sit a tad higher so it can use the charger while standing up.
Hope this helps!

My I ask why you bought the VNA214 instead of the VN210 (10 inch) ?
Is VNA214 (14 inch) not to big for it ?

I just ordered a Sling-bag and a sleeve for under $20 USD shipped
Portable Soft Protect Cloth Cover Case Sleeve Bag Pouch for 10" Tablet PC MID
from - ebay for $3.15 free shipping
Kensington iPad Sling Bag - Black
from - ebay for $15.99 free shipping
I can't post links yet but if u copy/paste them in ebay search they should come up easily.

I wanted a bigger bag. But the reviews I read on the 10 say the 10 fits the TF just fine. And the 14 fits with room to spare, without seeming to big. I didn't want the 10 because I felt it would be too small for everything I wanted to carry with me, and I felt it might appear as a man purse, which is definitely not my thing! But it would work, I am sure, for a sleeve type replacement.

It doesn't block the speakers. It's the same case as the $25 roocase here:

I've given up on the "wrap around the outside but doesn't cover the beautiful back" silicon case that apparently will never come up. Went ahead and ordered one of these.
Can't you just but a silicone case and cut out the back using a box cutter? Or you looking for something different?

The charging port is covered while it's closed. Someone on Amazon complained about that and a representative of the company responded that it was designed that way on purpose so that the port wouldn't wind up getting damaged while the case was in use.

Sleeve that fits the transformer best

I just got a transformer last week and I really don't like any of the folio cases available but want to have some kind of protection for when I throw it in my bag. So I was looking into sleeve cases on amazon but reading the reviews people were saying they didn't fit too well, having 1-2" of space so it moves around a lot. Are there any sleeves out there that are specifically made for the transformer or at least fit it decently?
Hmm, maybe I'm cheap but for that, I'd probably just pad it with a towel or a custom cut piece of foam.
Sent from my Transformer TF101 using Tapatalk
I have this one. Fit the TF perfectly + some pockets for accessories.
http://www.shopping.hp.com/webapp/s...aoid=20715&ci_src=14110944&ci_sku=QB459AA#ABL
the asus transformer is 27.1cm by 17.7cm I believe and surprisingly when I was looking for cheaper opinions on ebay it was the cheap as chips option that seemed to be sized as best 'fitted' for the asus's dimensions (in my opinion at least)
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/150672438...X:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649#ht_3393wt_1085
I suppose if it works for what a person needs it for don't knock the 'cheap as chips' ness factor of it!

That's exactly what I was looking for, you have that case then?
I bought this one. Fits perfectly. Adds a zipper side pocket for the charger. Handles have velcro to keep the together. Has 2 plastic pouches inside made for SD cards. The handles come in handy if carrying other things.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Black-Neopr...ltDomain_0&hash=item4cfbac6575#ht_1902wt_1189
Plus it is super cheap. The quality is about 8/10 as the zippers are just a little tough. For the price it can't be beat.
@ FlyingToilets - yes, I've just bought that one as extra extra protection - you can't really going too wrong with something that costs 2 quid
I've also bought this one as a main case (http://www.yourpoetic.com/android-t.../black-slimbook-asus-eee-cases-and-covers.asp) for about £13 at amazon as the main case (the other case I plan to house the asus+portfolio case and a stylus)
I really wanted to get this one (http://www.yourpoetic.com/android-t...ducts/black-red-asus-eee-cases-and-covers.asp) but it is a bit too much in the uk currently
I've only just ordered these so I don't know how good they will be but I'll try and let you know when they arrive!
I got this one for my Transformer and I love it!
Blurex (cant post links yet), just google blurex asus transformer case
Its slim, fits nicely, and feels great. It also lets me easily attach the keyboard while its open, but its not quite large enough to close around while the keyboard is attached and closed, which I don't really mind.
I just picked up a Transformer on Friday night, so just wanted something cheap for the time being to carry it in. There was a sleeve in the Best Buy ad today so I decided to pick one up. I'm very happy with it for $6.
I can't post links yet, but either look at the BB ad or search their website for "HP sleeve" and you'll find it.
I bought that el-cheapo ebay case.
1) Fit - it fits the transformer very well indeed. The long dimension is just right, absolutely would not want to be any less as it's a bit tight to flip the lid on. The short dimension is just fractionally more than would be a really tight fit, but it's so close that you really could regard it as made for the transformer (tab only, I doubt it would fit with the dock).
2) Finish - not so great. Seriously, what do you expect for the price? Within about 3 days some stitching gave way on the red piping , leaving it coming loose from the neoprene. I have repaired it by hand as at the price it really is not worth arguing it out with the seller.
3) Both of the above combine to mean that you need to be careful putting the case on and taking it off your tablet, as it's easy to pull the lid too hard and potentially break some stitching as you stretch the lid over the end of the tablet.
Overall... I am looking for a messenger bag style case for my transformer (and not liking anything I've seen except a couple of crumplers that, as much as I love their products, I am not prepared to pay for. In the meantime, this sleeve provides excellent value for my tablet around the living room and in my laptop bag.

Transleeve or regular leather case?

Does anyone have the Transleeve smartcover yet and the tablet? can the smartcover fold completely backwards like simply opening a book cover and folding the cover all the way back (to the metal back side of the tablet?)
The videos only show it being folded to different positions to be used on top of a table or flat surface... my questions is, does the cover get out of the way when you just want to hold the tablet while surfing on the couch? ... or will it need to be pulled off every time?
Is it possible that the rubber back can damage the aluminum backplate if folded back?
I guess I am just trying to decide if I want the sleeve, or a regular leather case instead-
Another thing... is it possible to use both at the same time???
Thanks!
I personally think a leather case would be better the asus cover looks good but doesn't add any protection to the back of the case when in use.

Thanks... I greatly appreciate the feedback. I am considering to pre-order a leather case- the one below from Amazon:
VERTEKS (TM) Asus Eee Pad Transformer PRIME TF201 10.1-Inch Android Tablet Wi-Fi Multi Angle View Leather Folio Case Cover (Black)
This company made a leather case for the original transformer and it got high ratings, so I figure its a low cost safe bet for the prime!
What is interesting, is that the above post states the transleeve can fold back all the way... I may have to further consider all options before deciding-
Note: I cancelled pre-order on the leather case for now- still undecided, and greatly appreciate the feedback received!
Dont get the Asus sleeve, way too over price for limited functions. I am going to return mine as soon as my screen protector and case arrive. If you only plan on having just the tablet and dont mind scratching up that nice aluminum back then get the asus sleeve, but if you plan on getting a dock and keeping it looking new, get another cover.
I too don't see the merits of the sleeve. If I want it propped it (for watching a film etc.) i'll just pop it in the dock. Similarly i can see myself getting annoyed very quickly with having to remove the sleeve every time i wanted to dock the prime.
I will be using my prime for a lot of couch surfing and while on the go, and based upon feedback it seems that it would be best to get a leather case.... I also don't want the aluminum backplate to get all scratched up since i will be holding it the majority of the time during use.... So :
I went ahead and pre-orderdered this one from Amazon:
VERTEKS (TM) Asus Eee Pad Transformer PRIME TF201 10.1-Inch Android Tablet Wi-Fi Multi Angle View Leather Folio Case Cover (Black)
What sucks is that it doesn't ship until Jan 6th -like almost all of the leather cases listed on Amazon, they are all pre-order only.
Hopefully, I don't scratch the hell out of the backplate by the time the damn leather case arrives!
Thanks for the input!
ordered it also, had to call in a favour from an American friend to use his address and send it up to Canada. We Candians don't seem to have any luck with anything related to the prime , All the good cases are in the usa
cute android sleeve case
I pre-ordered this one: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0062OKDIC/ref=s9_simh_gw_p147_d2_g23_i2?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=center-2&pf_rd_r=1RNMQ9X4A2AJZJH9GGVK&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=470938631&pf_rd_i=507846. Have a Roocase on my TF101 and like it.
I have a bit of a different perspective... One of the things I'm looking forward to with the Prime is the thinness. Thus, at the risk of scratching the back, I'm going to try using it in just the ASUS cover. I might put in the dock when I'm taking it more than back and forth from work and put the combo in a sleeve, bit for use around the house it'll be the cover and nothing else.

Me to. I want to feel it when using it. I have an itouch that is 3 years old and soon as I bought it I slapped a case on there. I really never got to enjoy that nice shiney metal rear cover.
not sure when those nice new fancy docks are gonna be available but I can get the sleeve by the end of the week. I'll prolly just resell it when everything else becomes available.
Has anyone found a case similar to the official ASUS one for the original Transformer, or the official Apple one for the original iPad? These cases were great, as they protected the entire tablet and added minimal bulk to the tablet. It's very disappointing that Asus has chosen to go with the lackluster origami cover as their official cover to this tablet.
Thinking of ordering this case - The company and original transformer reviews are great. Not available until the end of January though

does anyone have this case? from what I can tell, the tab goes one side, the keyboard dock the other and it's a hard shell carry case.
however, nowhere to put your cables.
does anyone know of a similar case to this but with an pouch as well for cables? I know it's a TF101 case, b ut considering the prime is a small item it will fit this case easy.
I am looking at this case as well as I read about the reviews on the office transleeve having all the problems with the tablet and the lack of availability online. From the pictures on amazon it seems that its quite thin to carry around. I read a review somewhere maybe from it official website saying that this can carry a dock with the transformer so i assume this is okay.
i have this case! it fits very well and you dont even have to take the prime out of the dock. also, it is a hard case, so it protects much better against falls etc.
on amazon germany it was available immediately

Thanks for the info! just a quick question, since the tablet is very thin and so once you put the prime into the case does it get really fat or huge to hold with one hand?

of course its thicker, its not a neoprene sleeve. but thats why it protects well and you can still easily carry it with one hand! i really like it. didnt expect much for the price and was pleasantly surprised!
i also ordered a 10'' netbook case from case logic to compare, but the prime has too much room in it and its more of a thin neoprene, so its just scratch-protection...
I bought this hard case:
eBay - The UK's Online Marketplace
Internal dimensions now that I have it in my hand are:
Case: 26.8cm x 19.1cm x 3-4cm
Prime: 26.3cm x 18.1cm x 2cm
As you can see, it's a pretty close fit in theory. Have to wait 5 days before I get my Prime to confirm it's a good fit.
Alternatives to consider
Hey guys,
just like everyone else, looking for a proper case for my prime
since eventually (in the near future) I plan on getting the Dock, i'm looking for a case/sleeve
- looked at all the cased and couldn't find one I liked
- Finally found a case, but haven't had a chance to try it yet
it's the HP VX403AA / VX404AA it's a mini neoprene sleeve for the HP Mini netbook
- price is 32$ as low as I could find it. pricey but nice
- Has 2 smaller pockets on one side and a big one on the other side
- Plenty of storage to keep the charging cable/charger/micro USB with the tablet wherever you go.
- I'll let you know how it fits as soon as I try it, you can find it in local BestBuy's so if any1 is interested in trying it out before I get to it, by all means post your results.
Thank you,
Rodi

Has anyone used the Targus Spruce Mini Messenger?

This thing: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0046SNNRY/.
I have a rooCase coming in next week, but I'm looking for something else for extra padding when I'm traveling and to carry accessories with the tablet.
It looks like this Targus bag should be about the right size, but I was wanting to make sure.
Yes I have one. I got mine at target for around 24 bucks. It is a perfect fit. I imagine the keyboard will fit in the other compartment perfectly but i have no keyboard.
The inside pocket might seem to small but it is very soft and it doesn't take long to stretch making a very snug fit.
It holds my prime and 2 chargers. I don't have a need to carry more but there is room for it.
I 100% recommend this bag.
Yeah, I saw it at Target a couple of hours ago for that price, which is why I asked. Thanks for the review!
I have it as well and second the perfect fit. When the dock is attached to the tablet it fits next to the inside pocket. When their separate, the tablet fits in the pocket and the dock fits right next to it. The padding is soft and not excessive. I included some pics for you. There's also room for the charger in the outside pocket and of course a cloth for the fingerprints.
I also paid 24.00 at Target but couldn't find online for that price. I 100% recommend
I almost bought it several times in the month ( felt like months) wile my prime was preordered. Then my wife bought me one for Christmas though I still had a bit of a wait. It is perfect for travel. It feels like it was made for the prime.
I picked up this at Best buy. Had some rewards points that needed to be used
http://www.amazon.com/Targus-CityGe...1?s=aps&ie=UTF8&qid=1326572391&sr=1-1-catcorr
It fits it well and it has the two compartments which fit it nicely if I detach the keyboard they can both be separated and protected if I choose or it fits fine as one piece. It has extra pockets on the inside for my mouse, cables and charger.

Check out this review:
Perfect for my ASUS Eee Pad Transformer and its keyboard dock, June 8, 2011
By L. Paquin (San Francisco, CA USA) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This review is from: Targus CityGear Netbook Case for up to 10.2 Inch Netbooks- Black and Grey TSM097CA (Personal Computers)
I have been looking around to find a good mean to carry my ASUS Eee Pad Transformer tablet around and its Keyboard/Docking Station but not necessarily always docked. Most netbook carrying bag only have one padded compartment to put the netbook. I was looking for one which had two sections so that I can leave them undocked to quickly pull the tablet alone quickly (as opposed to pull the docked tablet, undock and then put the keyboard back in the bag).
Last weekend, I brought my Transformer and the keyboard dock and went shopping around for that perfect bag. I found the Targus CityGear Mini (TSM148US) and tried it. The form factor was definitively what I was looking for but one of sub-sections was a little tight. I still decided that it would work for me and that it might strech a little over time. Then, when I looked on Amazon, I saw that there was this model, the Targus CityGear Netbook Case for up to 10.2 Inch Netbooks (TSM097US), which had pretty much the same specs but was cheaper (always a good thing). So, I decided to try it.
I received today and quickly opened it. It is pretty much the same as the one I tried last weekend but the two sub-compartments are bigger. So, no need to strech them and they work out of the box. It is a great way to carry my tablet docked or not to the keyboard. The side pockets of the bag also offer enouch space to carry the charger (it is pretty small anyway) and also my Arkon Portable Fold-Up Stand (great stand for this tablet BTW).
So, all-in-all, I highly recommend this tablet. I had been searching for recommendations for the ASUS Eee Pad Transformer and did not find anything that stroke me. This is why I thought of writting this detailed review (and I will post pictures) for my fellow Transformer owners!
