Enough said.

☞[READ] Only actual DEV, HACK, MOD, APP & FIX topics allowed in DEV
Just a heads up to everybody.
The Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime Android Development will be reserved only for real Development projects and discussion, that includes:
[DEV]
[HACK]
[MOD]
[APP]
[FIX]
[REQ]uest, [Q]uestions, [BOUNTY]ies, [GUIDE], [HOWTO], [REF], ideas, comments, and All other topics will be moved to Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime General or any other applicable section. Q&A will be created once the forum has enough traction.
You may start planning a [DEV] topic on General or QA and then have it moved to the Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime Android Development section once the actual Development has started.
☞ Development is classified as original work and/or documented edits and changes made to others work (with their permission) that makes it your own.
Stock ROM dumps that are modified (deodexed, etc.) from the manufacturer's original intent and then repackaged together classifies as development.
Kernel's and Recovery obviously classify as development as they are modified and compiled from source
☞ Themes are graphical/visual changes made to a ROM which make's the ROM visually different from the original work, i.e. different battery icons, a blue-color scheme, etc. They may be packaged up together with a full ROM and deployed the same way. Simply running a script (not made by you) to deodex and then packaging other people's work/MOD's into one place does not constitute original development.

[mini pro] GREEK users willing to test a keylayout?

Are there any Greek users who are willing to test a Greek keylayout for ICS/CM9?

I would call it development, as this is the first time that mini pro users will be able to use the Greek keylayout... and it will possibly get included in the next version of FXP (CM9).
I could have posted it in the FXP thread, but there is a bigger chance that more Greek would be able to test it with this thread.
Still it is NOT a development thread. Its a mod. Hence its place is in the Apps section not the development thread.
Although If you manage to make it, along with other languages you should then post on the FXP thread itself, or send a PM to them.
If it were a global mod, like the Live button on the LWW, then sure. But this is FXP mod only.(at least thats what I get from what you say)

No it is not only for FXP, it is going to be included with FXP, but it is going to work with all CM9 based ROMs in here.
This has nothing to do with an app...
If you do not think that this has anything to do with development, report it to the moderators... do not SPAM or you will get reported in stead.
I didnt say it's an app. It's a mod. Mods belong to the app section just like the quickpanel mods etc etc. If you cant understand that, just because you want a spot in the development section, then be my guest. When did valid arguments become "spam"? It's a forum everyone is entitled to their opinion, and thats what im expressing.
Sent from my ST17i using XDA
It is development. No discussion about that!
If i had opened the thread noone would complain oO
On XDA development is if you created something, so he created the keymap file which means that it is development.
Also we dont want to discuss it here. If you think its not development just hit the report button.
The meaning of this thread is that someone should try the keymap and not discussing about whats development and what not.
Regards
Thank you Andreas
I just wanted someone with the real keyboard to test it, just to make sure that it is working 100% as it should.

[Tip] Which Questions can be asked here.

Hi all,
As a member of XDA me and many others are trying to help and answer everyone with their questions. However some questions are device related and should not be asked here but at the correct forum for the device for example the Samsung Galaxy S3.
So a friendly reminder ( I'm sorry moderators, perhaps one of you guys should have created this): With 9 posts or less you ARE allowed to ask your questions of your device in their Q&A thread/forum. For more information about the 10 post rule i refer to here: 10 Post Rule on XDA Developers.
For Example:
Hi all,
My phone (Samsung Galaxy S3) keeps bootlooping after installing Android revolution HD.
I've tried several things but i cant seem to fix it myself. Anyone have some advice for me?
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
The above question can be asked in Samung Galaxy S3 I9300/I9305 Q&A troubleshooting forum.
To find your phone:

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Type your devices name eg: Samsung Galaxy S3 or I9300/I9305 In the FIND YOUR DEVICE.. Searchbar and press enter. You will be redirected to the forum of your device. If you are not certain which version or phone you have: Open settings > About Phone > Model
You will be wondering why you should post your question there:
You will get a lot more response and comment from users with the same phone
It is device related so users with the same issue can report there and together you can solve it
The Q&A where you are posting now (not device related) is mostly used for devices without an seperated place or random android questions which are not device specified
Every phone is diffent aswell as the guides/how to's etc. At the device/phone forum place you can find them all at one place. Prevents you from searching through XDA developers
All other questions can be asked here. If you by accident place a question here. Dont worry it will be reported to the XDA staff so that it can be moved to the correct place

Mrjraider

I hate to bump this but could this perhaps be a sticky?

OMNI ROM

can anyone port omni rom for canvas hd as its specs is similar to Oppo R819
WHY?
Why do you guys post requests in the Development section.
First of all this post belongs to General or Q &A section.
Still If you want to post it in development section to make it visible to the DEV, your thread title is totally misleading.
After watching your title, I thought that some one is successfully ported OMNI rom to our device.
Such a misleading thread.
Before posting make you post it in right way and in right section.

Omni Rom is for Kitkat 4.4. Canvas HD have not even got 4.3. So do some search and then post. This is wrong section. I have reported this to moderators. It is now marked with your id. More such posts will ban you from XDA for sure. Take care.

How to include Android.mk into my Gradle build

Hey, noob developer here. I'm trying to make an app as a privileged module because I need to access a few files on the device that I can't access using a normal app (with no privileges and permissions). I have an android.mk (its located at {packagename}\app\src\main) with the command LOCAL_PRIVILEGED_MODULE := true in it. I'm not sure how to include that into my gradle.build file so that I take in that command and hopefully spits an apk which is a privileged module. I'm using Android Studio Chipmunk (2021.2.1).
I'm sorry if i missed any details, I have recently started developing android applications so I don't have a lot of knowledge and experience, please ask any clarification questions and I'll try my best to simplify my problem for you to understand.
EDIT: I did a bit more research and added this to my gradle.build file

the code builds successfully but i still havent been able to access files in the /data/ folder. Any help would be greatly appreciated. TIA!
