ICS Theme - Defy Themes and Apps

Hey everyone! I have an ICS theme apk downloaded that I am currently using, however I dont like the status bar icons that show up. Is it possible for me to change those icons to ones that came with GB?

nope u cant..

Yes you can, but thats a really big headache...prefer leaving it to the developers

Open the apk with WinRAR or 7zip and replace the drawables with theones u want... u may need to sign the apk again...
if dont what i am talking about then just dont do anything..

Y U no use Ultimate Online Kitchen?
Thread: [KITCHEN][01/22] UOT Kitchen (Ultimate Online Theme Kitchen) version 4.0

He can't change status bar icons with his own using UOT kitchen, he can change only to those that are already given in the kitchen....
BTW, you should listen to nogoodusername, if you don't succeed, you'll just get a parse error when installing...

Well, you're right but the OP said he wants stock gingerbread icons, and those are included in the kitchen.

I think i know what you're talking about.. You mean taking out the drawables from the apk that i dont want and putting in the ones from GB? Although i dont know where to get those files and how do you sign the apk?

I can if you know how to integrate/add files to your framework-res.apk. It cannot be done with MetaMorph tho.
Is there a guide or something I can follow and achieve it? Or could u give instructions on how to?
Sent from my Legend using XDA App
Sure, there are several guides and HOWTOs on XDA (Chef Central, Desire Development...) on how to theme, repack, sign and everything. There are even several tools available that let you do all these steps in one swoop. I'm sorry but I can't guide you through all of that but if you have a will to do it, you will find a way through, of that I'm sure.

@BlaY0: How to apply this theme? It looks realy nice!

I don't think this theme is a ROM Manager flashable ZIP file...
Maybe we must use some theming app?

You have to decompile, edit and recompile classes.dex in services.jar. BTW it needs to be deodexed. It will be included in B 0.2.

I will like to see the new gingerbread style when you click menu button (white icons and text on black background).
Is this posible? I almost succeeded with some editing in framework-res.apk...

New version...
BlaY0,
Any chance to switch notifications itself to black background and white text? Curious why you didn't make it - hard to change or you just like white notifications?

Make your Lock Screen Look Like AOSP ICS

I got a few PM requests to tell them how to have lock screen look like in my JJ's Hybrid ROM...
Just attached the Zip.. ITS NOT FLASHABLE ZIP... Only for ICS ROMS...I dont want to make it flashable zip as it can effect ur themes and other framework mods...
Copy the png files in ICS_Style_Lock.zip to res/drawabale-hdpi in framework-res.apk using 7zip or winrar and replace ...
If u want to do within phone u can use Xplore File Manager (free from market)..

Works great!

It depends if ur using ics. If its ice then u need to mod SystemUI.apk from system/app but if its not then u need to mod framework-res.apk in system/framework. I suggest looking up a tut for the Modding because it is a long process

first thanks for the fast answer
my phone is the htc one x, Android 4.0.3 and with stock launcher ''rosie''
okay im looking for a tut thanks a lot
If you just want to replace icons with others, all you need do is use 7zip or similar to open the apk file and literally just swap the existing icons with some new ones.
If you want to add icons, or change how they're displayed, then you're looking at decompiling.
Need help !
Can I jus replace the contacts.apk , phone.apk and get a new look or can I jus replace the PNG's on those APK's ?
Or , should I have to deal wit' the systemui.apk and framework-res.apk ?
Also , is there any way that I can extract the icons from an icon pack ??
Check this thread. You will find what you are looking for.

Decompile framework-res.apk
Its in /system/framework
After decompiling it
Go to res/drawable-ldpi
Replace all the
stat_battery_xx with ur nokia battery images
Note that don't change name and resolution of those images(.png)
Recompile framework-res.apk
Replace it set permission
I think u also have to edit framework-res.jar to make it work
P.s. this is juz for info I am a noob
And above info might be wrong

Why do you want to use the old nokia type icons? Make it a bit more stylish!
Check this thread. It got a lot of good looking battery icons, download the zip, extract the icons and replace them in framework-res.apk/res/drawable-ldpi and flash the apk back!

Ok I was gonna post this 2 hours ago but power went down (damn storms)
So I've extracted the battery icons from the Camera file and have modified the framework file with them, even changed charging one. You can try it out but I cannot ensure that it will work fully and especially look good. I have not tested btw.
Download the attached file below and flash through Recovery mode.

To save all the hassle, I went to UOT Kitchen and didn't choose any mods but just uploaded the framework-res.apk and it generated a flashable zip.
Done it loads of times to make backups of my original apk's.

Hmm guess a better way would be to have the flashable zip replace png's instead of replacing the whole apk. Sorry about causing you a bootloop.
