[GSM] Everything about Latam Razrs - Motorola Droid RAZR

Preface
Hey guys,
So I've noticed that a lot of people who have razrs from latin america or canada having trouble flashing and updating. This is because the hardware on these phones is actually different than the rest of the GSM phones. Since it's pretty unlikely we will have our own section of threads, I think we should make one. I will be updating this will all information about our Razrs in particular. What we can and can't flash, stock fastboot files that work, tips, tricks, and anything else you can think of. So please post your suggestions here and we'll make this a one-stop for new latam razr owners. Thanks!
-------------------------------------------------------------
Key:
Blue = steps to do on your computer
Black = steps to do on your phone
-------------------------------------------------------------
Bricked your razr? Let's fix it!
WARNING: READ THIS CAREFULLY BEFORE YOU BEGIN. You have a limited amount of power since you cannot charge your device if it is bricked. If you have a low battery when you brick it, we CAN fix it, but it is a lot tougher. See "Low battery and bricked?" section (coming soon...)
1. Turn your device off. If unresponsive, this can be done by holding the power button and the two volume buttons until the device hard-powers off.
2. Install RSD Lite
3. You will also need a fastboot file. See "Fastboot Files" section below. This file will take a while to download.
4. Once you have finished downloading the proper fastboot file, unzip it to somewhere that you will be able to easily find it. You're going to need to know where it is.
4. Hold BOTH volume buttons and power to enter the menu. It should look like this:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
5. To navigate this menu, press volume down to move the cursor down, and volume up to select. Select "AP Fastboot" and press volume up. This should take you to this screen (if it doesn't say "(Boot Failure)" at the top, that's okay):
6. Connect your device to your computer and open up RSD Lite:
7. Once open, click the button labeled "..." and find the .xls fastboot file you unzipped in step 4. Open that.
8. You should see your device somewhere in the bottom section of the fastboot program. (If not, make sure to download the proper drivers. See "Drivers and Tools" section (coming soon...). Click "Start" to begin flashing the new stock software onto your phone.
9. This process should take about 20 minutes tops. If it is taking longer or failing, be sure you are using the proper fastboot files.
10. Enjoy your device

Rooting and getting ClockworkMod - Thanks to mattlgroff for this
1. Download Matt's Razr utility here
2. Connect your device to your computer via USB. Your phone should be ON.
3. Make sure you have "developer mode" and "install from unknown sources" checked (locations for these vary based on whatever rom you're using)
4. Open Matt's utility by double clicking "XT910RAZRUtilityLITE.bat". It should look like this:
5. Select option 1, then hit enter. DO NOT UNPLUG YOUR PHONE. Let the tool run for a few minutes. After it reboots your device, you should be rooted and ready to install clockwork.
6. After your phone is rebooted, select option 3 in Matt's utility. This will install an app on your device called "Razr Bootstrap"
7. Open the newly installed app on your device and press "bootstrap recovery". Accept the superuser prompt and wait for another popup box to say "success".
8. You now have ClockworkMod installed, but unlike on other devices, there is no simple combination of keys to start it on boot. Instead, if you want to get to it, you need to boot normally, then open the "bootstrap" app, then click "reboot to recovery". Congratulations, you've got a good recovery now!

Latam Razr News

Two days ago, a developer named Kholk released his bootloader bypass tool to the public. Pretty impressive, but it does have some issues. It only uses a single core, rather than the two our Razrs have. Some people have even reported overheating and rebooting when playing games using this new kernal. The tool is excellent and gives devs the ability to create kernals with much better battery life, more efficient use of resources, and the potential for overclocking/underclocking. Worth looking into, but just be warned that it is not completely finished yet. If anyone has any experience with the new kernal, please share in the comments! Thanks and hope you like the guide!

A few people have Fido razrs have received an over the air (OTA) update, bringing their system from 2.3.5 to 2.3.6. With this comes what we've all been waiting for: new radio drivers! This means no more bootlooping when touching bluetooth in ICS roms! Creating an update that anyone can use is still a work in progress, but more details can be found here.

Yes I have a LatAm Razr from Claro Puerto Rico. At the time we don't have the original fastboot files from claro.

*Firmware* Android 2.3.6 Update

Hello Ace users.
Just figured I would post this in case anyone else out there was thinking about the 2.3.6 update for Nordic counties. I just spent the morning Flashing it VIA Odin, because I never made a Factory back-up before flashing CM7 some time ago, and I am quite happy with it.
Okay, here's the procedure on how to manually upgrade the Samsung Galaxy Ace GT-S5830 to Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread using the stock ROM S5830XXKPP in 11 simple steps. So you know Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread is not yet available for all Galaxy Ace users, except in Russia. Don’t be scared when the phone boots in Russian, you can change that in the locale and text option under settings.
Here’s what you need:
Download the stock ROM S5830XXKPP, I got mine from SamMobile.com. You have to create a free account and navigate a few confusing pages but it can be found. You’ll find it at the bottom of the ROM list for the Ace; it’s the one for Nordic countries.
Grab the ODIN Multi Downloader v4.38 and OPS File: Cooper_v1.0.ops
To Flash with Odin:
- For Windows PC’s with USB driver / Kies installed.
- A USB cable for your phone
- Make a back-up copy of all important files stored on your phone, you are going to lose everything otherwise
Ready to start?
1. Download the S5830XXKPP ROM and extract it to your desktop. The password is “samfirmware.com”. When extracted you’ll see: “S5830XXKPP_S5830XXKPP_S5830SERKPP_HOME.tar.md5” this is what you need.
2. Extract and run Odin v4.38 on your desktop.
3. On ODIN click the OPS button and select the Cooper_v1.0.ops file on it.
4. Hit the One package checkbox option
5. Select and load the S5830XXKPP_S5830XXKPP_S5830SERKPP_HOME.tar.md5 in the One package field
6. Set the Samsung Galaxy Ace in Download Mode:
Turn the OFF the phone then press Volume Down+Power+ Middle buttons simultaneously and the phone will then reboot into download mode. Press the volume up button to begin download mode.
7. Connect the phone to PC and you’ll see on ODIN a window with “COM Port” turn to yellow. It means connected and ready.
8. Begin the flashing by hitting the 'Start' button.
9. It will take 5 minutes to complete and the word "PASS" will display once it finishes.
10. Unplug the phone from the PC, and go into Recovery Mode by pressing Home + Power Button, then select Wipe Data / Factory Reset. Reboot Phone.
11. Last, change the default Russian language to your Region by going to settings and then locate the locale and text icon, then pick your native language.

seems like you are toooooooooo late to do something with the phone
i bet 95% of peoples know this thing and also this firmware was announced by sampro ages ago
I just know there was a couple of Noobs around wanting to go back to Samsung Firmware but no idea how... This is for them, not the 95% who already know how.
When I read the topic subject, I thinked that a new special method is needed for flashing the S5830XXKPP ROM.
I think 95% of galaxy.ace.xda.users have already known this, thanks

[GSM] I can't wait relate NEW Way to bypassing BL Flash SBF of ICS ChinaRetail leak

Dear All
Hi, I am a Chinese using Asia XT910, my English was poor, but I can't wait to tell you the NEW Way to bypassing BL Flash SBF of ICS ChinaRetail leak.
--------Background--------
Phone: GSM Rzar - Asia XT910 - China Retail XT910(GSM/WCDMA)
SBF: EU Retail - Asia Retail - China Retail
My phone Asia XT910 can flash any release-keys SBF of EU and Asia Retail, but can not flash any SBF of China Retail(GB and ICS)
A day a guy found a NEW Way to bypassing BL Flash almost any SBF (he just test the ICS leak and GB of ChinaRetail): http://bbs.mfunz.com/thread-399816-1-1.html
But not perfect with TRUN ON and Reboot phone, MUST select "BP Tools" after reboot.

That's the same build and method as posted here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1621804
I can confirm it works, using the build right now. The flashing process is a bit convoluted, as is the root method, but it's well worth it. 100% functional. Let me know if there's anything you guys are struggling with, I'll try and get a less Engrishy how-to up.

There's a mirror here: http://multiupload.nl/KCY3GHO566
1. Unpack this file to external SD.
2. Flash Retail Asia (Android 2.3.6)
3. Root your device via motofail.
4. Install Connectbot via Google Play and run it. In ssh list choose "local" method. Long tap and choose Android keyboard.
Tap complete and now you're in terminal, input su and set permissions. Input this line as is and hit enter:
cat /dev/block/mmcblk1p18> /sdcard-ext/mmcblk1p18-back
Now we got backup for original 18block file /dev/block/mmcblk1p18
Now change the original one with file from Step1:
cat /sdcard-ext/mmcblk1p18-go> /dev/block/mmcblk1p18
5. Flash china 4.0.4 ICS (maybe you'll have some errors just skip em) via RSD or Fla****.
6. Phone will reboot, go into recovery and wait till radio is flashed, then reboot your device.
7. Hit volumedown+volumeup+power, go into recovery and wipe data/cache, then reboot your device.
8. Once again volumedown+volumeup+power, go into BP Tools, device now will starting, maybe some errors - ignore them.
9. To root your ICS , download this file. Reboot device with volumedown+volumeup+power.
10. run replace.bat
11. run TPSparkyRoot.bat
12. Reboot device with volumedown+volumeup+power.
13. run recover.bat

You don't have to flash AsiaRetail first - I came from en.eu 2.3.6. Would imagine any build is fine.
And ADB and Terminal Emulator do the same job as ConnectBot.

Oh, man, I hope you're right 'cause I've got LATAM device. Have anyone tried this on LATAM devices with Android 2.3.5?
Tell if it works on your latam i try tmr.

Given this effectively bypasses the regional restrictions and uses RSD itself to flash a full official 4.0.4 build, I really can't see why the build you're coming from would matter at all (Unless there are differences in the layout or size of the Customer ID block - mmcblk1p18 - in 2.3.5 vs. 2.3.6).
It can't hurt to try it out, since you can always use RSD to get back on a Gingerbread ROM if it doesn't play nicely. Just make sure to back up your own mmcblk1p18 first, and read the instructions as thoroughly as you can - the first time you come across the CustomerID error screen is a bit scary, and rooting it with multiple manual reboots is a real pain in the arse - you have to hold both volume keys and scroll to BP Tools EVERY time you reboot the phone. It's a pain, but fully functional ICS is worth it.
Also includes the new Webtop beta which basically launches the standard ICS tablet UI and scales everything up. And you no longer need a dock hack like Nebtop to launch it without an official webtop accessory, interestingly enough.

Downloading the China dump now, will give it a whirl on AU Optus Razr
Same. About to give it a whirl on Rogers/VIVO flashed RAZR. Wish me luck
By the way, does this ROM contain Smart Actions, Motocast, etc (Motoblur apps)?
I'm a little bit confused with its size (okay, gapps are not included, I know it).

[ROM] Huawei Ascend G7-L01 (Unique CUST Number)

I have a Huawei Ascend G7-01 with a rather unique CUST number i.e. CUSTC113D001. The ROM is WIND Italy. It has proved impossible to flash any official ROM for any other CUST number and there is no ROM (including the one running on the phone) available for download. How can I update the phone to Android 5.1.1 or 6.0 using an official package? I have attached screenshots. Here are the other details:
Bootloader: Unlocked (I was able to unlock it)
Root Status: Not rooted (I don't want to root yet since I'm looking for an official ROM)
Model Number: G7-L01 (NOT G760-L01, are they the same?)
Internal: 16GB
RAM: 2GB
Android Version: 4.4.4
EMUI Version: 3.0
Baseband Version: 11060009
Build Number: G7-L01V100R001C113B242

I REALLY NEED TO UPDATE TO ANDROID 5.1.1 OR 6.0 . I was using the Infinix Hot 2 running Marshmallow so going back to KitKat is really frustrating
i think i have the exact same version of the G7-L01 which has evaded every method of upgrading to almost every type and build of lollipop till i bricked it about an hour prior to this reply. have you found a solution as yet?
you can try to take advantage of this instruction (http://4pda.ru/forum/index.php?showtopic=720152&st=340#entry46894069). Be very careful. The assignments must necessarily in that order.
A little bit of hope, At a risk though.

Hello, i had the exact build number. after an tremendous decrease in performance and battery life, i had to take some steps, in the process i have also updated to android 7.1, so i hope to help everyone still using this phone with the same cust. There was no official way to do it, so i had to go unofficial, if you have a problem with that, stop reading. I am not in any way responsible for damages to the phone. The only reason why this might be different from other guides is that i experienced a rare issue that my phone did not know its model number. Furthermore, all roms are for G750-L01, or G760-L01, my device reported to be a G7-L01, thus no roms would flash.
The process i chose was to flash a custom rom, if you are familiar with the process continue to step 3.
Step 0: Requirements gathering
Go to Huawei and download HiSuite to obtain drivers.
(Windows only)Go to Notepad++, and download and install notepad++
connect the phone to the computer via usb cable.
Step 1: Unlock bootloader
1.1) Gather required information:
1.1.1)Acquiring serial number:

Go to Huawei unlock page, sign in or up
First select: Before EMUI5.0
Then the next field select: Smartphone
Enter: "HUAWEI Y300-0100" as a model number
Enter the Serial number obtained in step 1.1.1 as the serial number.
Enter the IMEI obtained in step 1.1.2 as the IMEI number.
Enter the Product ID obtained in step 1.1.3 as the Product ID
Enter the verification code, and hit submit.
Copy down the unlock code provided by the website.1.2)Unlocking the bootlaoder
1.2.1)Enabling developer options
go to settings>about phone and tap the build number until a toast(confirmation) appears that you are now a developer.1.2.2)Enabling usb debuging
go to settings>developer options>scroll to allow android debugging, or usb debugging(apologies, since i am not on that firmware anymore i con not remember the exact name Huawei gave that option in the menu), ensure that it is enabled.1.2.3)Acquiring Minimal ADB
Download Minimal adb
Decompress this anywhere.
Open a command window to the location.1.2.4)Unlocking the bootlaoder
All file related content will be asuming windows is used, if you use Linux you'll be able to figure it out.

No, Don't do that! this can be risky! yours is Metropcs version of Samsung Galaxy Core Prime.
My Zipped file contains Stock ROM OS "G360TUVU1APG2" and it is for T-Mobile version of Samsung Galaxy Core Prime. (just beside the Recovery image, which is compatable with both T-Mobile and Metropcs)
Be sure to match both the Baseband code of your Phone and the Stock file.
Go to About Phone and search for your exactly baseband code number, it's better to download from the official sites.

That's what I thought. Just wanted to make sure before doing something stupid and brick in my phone as this is my daily driver. I appreciate your help and all the hard work you and all the other devs put in to give the android community the know how and ability to run their devices the way they were meant to be ran. Keep up the hard work. I'm sure I speak for more than myself when I say that your work and dedication is greatly appreciated.

Moto E6S XT-2053-1 Unlock Bootloader, Disable Verity, ROOT Magisk, TWRP

I am perfom this Sorry for my english, I am from Ukraine
Download archive!
We unpack. Install the adb and mtk preloader drivers, if they are not installed, restart the computer.
In the smart, turn on the developers menu, in it - "Allow OEM unlock" and "USB debugging" and connect the smart to the computer.
We drop valuable photo data from the smart to the computer for any, and, without disconnecting the smart from the PC, run the script (with the phone connected to the PC and loaded into the android phone. Reboot_to_fastboot_getvar current-slot.bat (not from the admin, just click twice).
Smart will look like this:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

}
we allow - put a daw, ok. We are waiting for the smart to reboot into fastboot, when the barcode appears on the smart screen, before that we do not press anything in the script
I did the scripts step by step, after each operation in the script window, press enter to continue, and so on until each script is closed
We look at our current slot in the window and remember the letter - a or b:
In the script, press enter so that the smart reboots and the script closes.
Run flash_tool.exe, go to this tab and check the boxes, as in the screenshot:
So we consider the necessary versions of orig. files, so as not to download and sew a specific firmware version for this instruction.
(And best of all, all the checkboxes, except for system, vendor, userdata - they are not critical, if they are not removed, it will take up a lot of space on the computer up to +74 gb, but I did not put these checkboxes, there must be some risk and passion )
We press "Read Back" and only then we connect the switched off smart to the PC, we wait, at the end we disconnect the bodies, do not touch it: sveta:
Go to this tab, remove all checkboxes! And we only put on lk_ with the letter of a non-your slot that we looked at, for example, you had slot "a" - so we put a check on lk_b and vice versa :
Click "Download" and connect the switched off smart to the PC (it was already turned off: sveta
As it flashes, we close the USB flash drive window, disconnect and turn on the smart, after loading, we connect it to the PC again, we already run the script
Unlock_Moto_E6S.bat, wait until the body reboots into a fastboot (to the barcode on the screen) and only then press the input step by step to continue in the script until it is completely closed.
Everything, the bodies are unlocked. Now you can get an excellent and fast root from Magisk, try other firmware, unsubscribe which one is buggy, which one flies. I haven't tried yet. Now I will write how to flash orig. kernel with magisk root (attached magisk boot for xt2053-1 4/64 fw RETEU 288-60-6-29 https://mirrors.lolinet.com/firmware/moto/fiji/official/RETEU/
Additionally, there is a script in the folder to delete the message when loading that the bootloader is unlocked, it does not interfere much, but I deleted it. Since this is not important, I separated it from the main script, since I did not test it on different versions of the firmware, in theory it should work on all versions, you can try after unlock. Or throw off ROM_45 from your firmware, I'll remove it from it. I now have the latest firmware flashed, it is on the server, but for some reason it did not fly through the air. If you flash it, then you can safely delete the message from the bootloader with my script, there is a file from it)
I am flash in slot_b Android 12 GSI, work. And i have in slot_a original system

I took the first firmware I got to try from here: https://4pda.to/forum/index.php?showtopic=892755
but the firmware itself is everywhere, for example here:

You can try to sew any GSI arm64 a/b from anywhere you find and choose the one you like, because smart supports Project Treble.
If you like one and will look cool and work firmware, post links here!
Tested it and it worked! Thanks a lot!
Now looking for delevoping some roms to this device
Im having a little problem, i tried to flash a GSI with "fastboot -u flash system gsi.img", the device didn't boot. Then i tried to flash the stock with the SP Flash Tool, and i throws an error (status_sec_dl_ forbidden), then i flashed it with Lenovo Rescue and Smart Assistant. I tried to flash via fastboot the patched magisk image but it throws an signature error.
Any help? Tha device still says that is unlocked

did you use the auth file that comes with sp flash tool? without that your device wont boot properly
Yes, i used the correct download agent and auth file
interesting, i followed all his steps and had no problem rooting it. try backtracking with his scripts again?
Solved it, also me and a developer are working on a new, more simple and automated script. Still haven't figured out how to flash the lk via script.
When is done i will post a complete guide in the moto e6s forums on how to do it, i think it might work well, but i would have to test in a non-unlocked device
Can someone please make a video with explanation, I didn't understand very well what is done, so I won't touch anything, but I thank those who record a video explaining it to me (I'm Brazilian)
Here you have a more straight forward guide, note that is still in testing
