[Q] Touchwiz-like launcher - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-I777

Looking for a launcher that looks and feels similar to Touchwiz.
I want to shrink my LCD density but TW launcher doesn't play well with a lower density.
Thanks

How can a modify a launcher?

Hi guys
Is it hard to learn how to modify I launcher?
I really love this launcher on my mini
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1500095
I asked the guy that made this if he can make it with 3 home screens instead of the usual 5.
He couldn't do it so maybe I can do it my self.
Is it possible to do it and is it hard to learn?
Thanks in advance

I've always found that market launcher's run smoother and more customization. I suggest trying adw.launcher, go launcher, hi launcher or zoom launcher, their all great. Getting theme's let's you get the look you want it mismatching theme pieces. I personally use adw.launcher ex( paid)

Best launcher for the Note?

I can're seem to fine a launcher that doesn't lag when switching pages on the note. Anyone know of a good launcher that's ics themed?
Sent from the best phone in the world Galaxy Note!!!
I think they will al have a degree of lag. You really should consider overclocking and then pretty much any launcher should be good for you. I use adw ex and my phone is ocd to over 1700. Its very very fast. Lag is nonexistent in every way on this note now.

I'm running GO Launcher EX. I don't notice any lag, none to complain about at least.

SBH Shell looks amazing on the Note. I am still test it out.

VTL Launcher. IT is made for landscape and it is developed by an XDA member.

or the Market.
I try most all of them; and then come back to GoLauncher
I LOVE Go Launcher, but Launcher pro is 100% lag free... I mean everywhere, including the app drawer runs smooth as silk and reminds me how much I love this phone!
I use lightning launcher. Its actually pretty good after you set it up and tweak it here and there. Looks much better than touch wiz IMO.
Launcherpro plus is great for me, no lag, and I can stretch my widgets to fit the note's screen

+1 ive been using LPP for a long time now across many different phones with great success
Adw is good but a little heavy. I've tried them all and always end up going back to go launcher

I use Zeam launcher. very light weight.
I know its alittle exspensive but TSF Shell is by far the best launcher on the market and couple together with our note's mega screen its priceless. I would pay the developer again lol best $16 you can spend on an android device IMHO. Plus the devs send out timely updates too. Hope this helps.

I've really thought about buying this, but I haven't really found a problem with the stock launcher that would make me want to pay that. I've tried ADWEx, Go, and LauncherPro Plus but I always come back to TouchWiz.
What are the main advantages for you with TSF Shell over stock TouchWiz?

I agree zeam is great, lightweight and fast. But I am using ashell right now because it has scrolling wallpaper. It is also pretty lightweight

Is it possible to port the tw5 launcher for our note?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using xda premium
Launcher pro runs fantastic on the phone, as well as TSF, however you will have to get used to a new way of doing things with TSF...
TSF is definitely the fastest and smoothest launcher I've ever used. It does take getting used to...I'm still not entirely lol

I always end up back on ADWex just because I've been using it for so long with great results and am so familiar with it. Most launchers seem to work ok with appropriate transitions etc selected.
I did get TSF launcher and am pretty happy with it. It seems incredibly smooth in the app drawer, no matter the transition. If they implement regular swiping through homescreens it may become my default. It's a bit silly with lasso select popping up every time I try to switch screens.

Plus its free and offers much more functionality than other launchers.
It even supports some absurdly high number of home screens (it 'was' 30 but I dont know if they reduced this or not).
Offers everything you are looking for + the ability to hide apps (useful for those of us who havent gotten around to rooting / debloating yet) and has a pretty low memory footprint. Has alot of features other paid launchers have too.

I second this, though I noticed on my nexus a, once I got over 10 home screens it lagged a bit....

It seems ADW and Go Launcher's lagginess are different for different people. ADW was quite a bit slower than Go Launcher for me.
I personally like SSLauncher
GO Launcher + V6 Supercharger = zOOM zOOM

[Q] scrolling wallpaper mod?

I thought I saw a mod around here for a scrolling wallpaper on stock tw launcher. But for the life of me I can't find it now, is there one? Even on other launchers the cropping is still the same, which makes scrolling pretty dumb.

Widget selection screen

I find this widget selection screen clumsy and ugly in Touchwiz, it's much better in GolacherEX and other launchers.
Anyone know how to make it display widgets list alike, like it was before?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
long press home screen, select widgets from menu....job done
Thats exactly how widgets look when i do that, this was like this on SGS3Touchwiz, Galaxy S2 had this list alike widget list, also had mod that same widgets were grouped together.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
ah, my bad, I'm using nova launcher which gives the old style list, must be touchwiz way then....change launcher
Nah...first time now i like how stock launcher looks, nova is ugly.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
If you need stock TW launcher then I think you need to get used to it. This is how stock ICS launcher handles widgets and apparantly sammy didn't bother changing it.. But I kinda like it.
Lots of things sammy dont think, they should have listen the users more. Nova is ok, Golauncher seems better, but i stick with stock till someone makes new hacked version of this touchwiz.
I really like how stock launcher change pages, havent seen so cool looking on any launchers even they have more options to change it.

I do like TW launcher but what bugs me a lot is the way TW launcher create folder. Samsung choose to use ICS style on the widgets but decided not to use ICS style on adding folder. Doesn't make any sense. :banghead:

Maybe use apex launcher and then choose touchwiz theme as design? Dunno if that fits all your needs though
I use sslauncher and hitting the menu key gives the traditional.Samsung options, like settings / wallpaper and long press the screen gives options for Widgets etc.

Homescreen transition animation will never be the same
And of course the clock widget will be gone. So not fit to my need.
