Official T-Mobile Springboard OTA Update...5/14/2012 - Huawei MediaPad, T-Mobile SpringBoard

It is still a Honeycomb update, stating it will update to Android 4.0 some time later
http://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-4310
This would be the new version:
Android version 3.2 / Software version S7-303uV100R001C201B030
I'm running the latest Mediapad ICS 4.03 so I don't have a desire to downgrade. But for folks still running the TMobile version... here you go.
CRAP I should have posted this to General... is there a Mod who can move this? I don't think I can delete this on my own and move it.

[Q] Rooting and android version

I just finished running the Odin flash of Chainfire CF-Root-SGS2_XX_OXA_KG6-v4.1-CWM4.zip, thinking that I will upgrade my firmware to 2.3.4. However after I do the setting checking:
setting > About Phone > Android Version > ???
it still showing 2.3.3??? Is that actually work like that, that when rooting, the firmware is upgraded but it will not show in the setting info?
My CWM clearly already changed to CF-Root 4.1 after I open and check it in CWM Manager.
TIA
custom roms make the upgrades on the android version (if included in their package), not the kernels.
Thanks for the info, really helpful
---------- Post added at 05:20 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:00 PM ----------
This my phone info:
PDA:KE7 / PHONE:KE4 / CSC:KD1 (XEU)
is it ok if flash and upgrade to:
XXKG6
Android 2.3.4
PDA:XXKG6| PHONE: XXKG6| CSC:XEUKD1
TIA
Yes, it will upgrade your phone to 2.3.4.
I plan to root my SGS2 but have not yet done so. I got the unlocked international edition from Amazon, and it arrived running Android 2.3.3.
Last night I created a Samsung account for myself so that I could upgrade. Then I did upgrade to 2.3.4.
Question: The Wikipedia entry on Android states that the current version of Android for phones is 2.3.6, released on September 2nd.
But when I tried to upgrade again (after having upgraded to 2.3.4) I got a message saying that no further upgrades are available.
I don't have to be on the bleeding edge but would like to at least upgrade to Android 2.3.5 (if there is a 2.3.5).
Why can't I do that (or can I do it)?
(This may in any case be irrelevant when I root -- my understanding of rooting is that to do so replaces the stock firmware, which is the whole point of rooting.)
Perhaps 2.3.5 simply isn't available yet for the SGS2, but that seems odd.

can someone maybe explain to me, what the whole reason of upgrading to 2.3.4+ is?
because I just did so. I upgraded from my 2.3.3 firmware to the latest XWKI4, from the list of the official firmwares. I hoped that by doing so, I would get the latest and greatest GTalk with video and calling options (v1.3).
But for some reason I have exactly this version, but I can not use this feature. Although the version information under applications reads, that I have 1.3 installed...

[Q] Android Market: What is your Market version?

Hi,
I have a Xperia Neo MT15i with 2.3.3 android version. The last version of android market is 3.1.5 (http://www.androidpolice.com/2011/0...nd-weve-got-the-apk-fresh-from-the-internets/) and I have 2.3.6 version so I'm curious to know what is your market version.
The procedure https://www.google.com/support/androidmarket/bin/answer.py?answer=190860 don't work for me.
Thanks
I'm too with the 2.3.6 version, it seems that the automatic update don't work for us. I heard that the 3.x version is a bit too slow compared to the old, so I keep the latter until I can
Had my market upgrade to 3.1.3 in 2.3.3. It just did it on it's own after I flashed German Generic FW yet again. Now am on 2.3.4 and I guess it's Nordic and back to old 2.3.x market.
2.3.x is the latest 'real' market,
the 3.1.x is beta and very slow...
if you want the beta just install this .apk

Thanks for your answer, I'm in no hurry so I will wait
3.1.5 here and it's not that slow. This is the version that came with 2.3.4 anyway.
Sent from my MT15i using XDA App

2.3.5?

I just got my Galaxy last week.
I see it is firmware 2.3.4
Has AT&T offered/sent the 2.3.5 update? If so, how do I get it? I have not seen any notification on my phone about it.
Also, I rooted my phone.
When I get the 2.3.5 update will my phone still be rooted after if I install 2.3.5 from AT&T?
Is it possible to update through Kies Mini? That is what I used for my Samsung Vibrant T959. But kies does not seem able to connnect to my AT&T galaxy s ii SGH-I777
OR do I need to root it again?
2.3.5 has not been officially announced.
the main reason for the update is the fix for the lock bug.
the 2.3.5 that is available im not sure if its leaked or user developed but its not Official.
Perception ROM is your best bet at the moment.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1299705
to my knowledge it is the only rom thats based off 2.3.5 and of course, like every other rom its rooted=)
I think we'll see more 4.0 roms sooner than we will any 2.3.5's if you want a higher os then flash CM7 and have 2.3.7

[Q] HoneyComb on Flyer the offical way

Hello,
i am sorry for being a noon, but i have to ask the following after giving my Flyer details:
HTC Flyer 32 GB Wifi & 3G.
Model number HTC FLYER P510e
Andriod Version
2.3.4
HTC Sense version
2.1 for tablet
Software number
Fly High ROM V1.1 3G
Kernel version
2.6.35.10-ge9e45cc
[email protected]#1
Baseband Version
20.3501.30.089BU_3809.05.04.10_M
Build 2.26.1530.3 CL106850 release-keys
Mu Humble question after having asked my local HTC retailer about if there is a Honey Comb update and why i am not getting it when i try the OTA, he replied that our region still dose 'nt have the update.
My Question is, if our region dose not have the update and i still want the official version of HTC, isn't there a way (Rom/Method/Link) i can install an official HTC ROM of another region and thus enabling me to get the official OTA Update or directly install the Honey Comb official HTC version ?
Kind Regards,
Hassan
Anyone got answers? or at least point me to the correct thread? i am lost with over information
You would not want to install a ota. You are s off and to be short it would not go well for you. Look for hc with s off thread in flyer development if you want hc

Its true since the OP is S-Off, the OTA or other official update would not work anyway. It will either not flash, or bootloop.
All the OP needs is here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1358758
op stated
Software number
Fly High ROM V1.1 3G
which implies he is running a custom rom so there is a chance he unlocked his bootloader, but more likely S-off. Yes I did make an assumption

[Q] Upgrading to EU from Asia ROM 2.3.5

Hi guys,
I've just got my Razr and I'm new to this forum. Up till now I used to own an HTC Desire, so I am fairly familiar with the Android ROM flashing process. However, there are some differences with the Razr, so I am asking you for advice in order not to mess things at such an earlier point.
Basically, what I want to know is this: I've got a phone with a 65.1.12.XT910.PSHAAsiaRetail.en.03 system version. I would like to move to an EU firmware, if possible - found the EternityProject page and got this 651.167.20 RETAIL en.EU EuropeAustraliaEMEA. Should I flash it with with RSD before applying the OTA update Blur_Version.999.999.999.Retail.en.EU (Ice Cream Sandwich)?
Actually, should I install the ICS OTA at all, or stick with a 2.3.7?
Thanks!
