Fm Transmitter + Micro USB Charger+ Car Mount for Android Phone - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-I777

Hi guys. This is what i use as an FM transmitter for my Galaxy and Vortex in my car. If you see on the picture there is an iphone charger included on the phoneholder. I was wondering if there is something that has micro usb charger instead of the iphone charger.
Any help would be appreciated.

I just found a bunch by just searching for "fm transmitter micro usb" on Amazon.

I hope u understood my english as english is not my first language.

I looked at yours on amazon. If you look at the pictures on amazon it has a built in 3.5mm jack but what I wanted is with a built in microusb (male i think).

Basically something like this but with built in fm transmitter

Quality isn't cheap lol. I get the idea your after maybe were looking in the wrong places for the price you want to pay. Let's try eBay

Looked on ebay.. Didn't find it. All i can find is with built in iphone charger. Well I guess I'm gonna have to cut the iphone cable on my car holder and try to solder micro usb on it.
I hope it works.
But if anybody finds one with built in microusb let me know.

Well you could get the dock for the phone and just buy a wireless radio transmitter that sets on the phone

Why's it gotta be with a BUILT-IN microUSB? Why can't you use the cable that came with your phone? I'd go with the link I posted in a heartbeat. Sure, you'd need to sacrifice a microUSB cable, but the 2.5mm is built-in. It's also $10.50 free 2day ship. I'm checking out my cart as we speak.

I have one already with the built in iPhone charger..And I paid like 8 bucks a year ago.the reason why I want with built in microusb is my iPod charges and at the same time transmits my music through FM channel. I also don't have to carry aux jack to listen to my music since its plays my music via FM station. I don't have to carry my iPod charger to charge.
I was wondering if I could do the same with my Galaxy and Vortex.

You have to remember iPhones are not the same style phones as ours. Yes they have a headphone jack but there charger is meant to transfer data to play music while ours is just PC to phone and charge I doubt its designed to out put any type of audio through the charging port. The one I linked is all built in but the price is a tad high. You'll have to choose what will work best but like I said an iPhone style dock is going to be impossible I think

Understood. But do you think this might work????

I'm not sure what the specifics of the item are but it may be worth a shot if not you can always return it
Contact the seller and ask if it will be able to stream music to your radio through an iPhone dock or if it is just a charger

Best FM Transmitter ever
I just found this on WOWparts.com for only $10.68. It is way better than I have expected for the price. The transmitter is compatible with USB, 3.5 mm and even the SD card. Easy to handle. I drive a lot and this transmitter has made the driving less boring with music. Highly recommend for everyone.

I had no idea so many people still used FM transmitters.

Aux cable

(Q) what's the best aux cable to use from phone to car any suggestions?
Sent from my PG86100 using XDA App
Any thick & properly shielded cable will do, and if you're paying more than $5 for it you're being taken for a fool... www.monoprice.com imo
I, too, have been looking for a new Aux cable... I currently have a "monster" brand aux cable I received as a gift and when I had my iPhone it worked fine but w/ the EEEVVVOOO if I am charging the phone while playing music (say, in my car) there's a very noticeable and VERY annoying high-pitched static.
No cable's gonna fix that...

Really? I had the EXACT issue w/ my iPhone 4 and the higher-quality cable fixed it with that. Is the electric interference just overly high on this phone?
Hmm, Monster cables are usually terribly overpriced but they're usually decent, I figured it'd be unlikely other cables would make a difference. I haven't had an issue connecting my phone to cars, docks, etc. Without hearing the exact nature of the sound it's hard to say what's at fault, just don't spend more than $10 on a new cable as they're not worth more.
If you guys go to radio shack, you can build your own. Get the proper cable length and the correct male headphone connectors for each side. And your done.
I've had great experiences with monster cables. If you can find one at a good price. Good thing I work at best buy. Haha

Those who are looking for the Motorola Rapid Charger locally

For those who are looking for the Motorola Rapid Charger locally, I ran into a guy at Best Buy who was the regional manager for the mobile department. He too has a Note. I explained the issues I'm having and what we all came up with as a resolution. Funny his he already had that Motorola Rapid charger.
Anyways, he pointed out the car dock kit
For the Droid X and X2. It comes with the very same charger we all are looking for. Here's the bonus: it was originally 49.99 but on clearance for 24.99. Not as good as ebay for 7.59 but I figured I had a 50 gift card after I took all those other chargers and cables back. So I bought the kit!
Here's the REAL bonus: not only does it have all the stuff for a car dock (although its for a Droid), but when.I got to the register, it rang up for 9.99!
I bought all 3 they had in stock.... ;-)
Check your local BB for availability if you don't want to wait for it to ship from ebay or amazon.
Sadly though, I'm still not charging while in use... :-(

Can you provide a link, SKU, UPC, something we can search or reference?
Sounds like quite a deal

I purchased the Kensington dual port charger for iPad/iPhone from CompUsa. It has 2.1 amp and 1.0 amp ports. I used it in my 2008 Honda Civic Si and my car electrical started acting possessed. My power doors were locking/unlocking; alarm system wouldn't always work; drained battery needing me to jump start. Had left charger in lighter port w/o anything attached. Don't know if it was defective but car has returned to normal after I got rid of it might try another

MHL Extension

Has anyone found an MHL Extension?
I'm looking to hook up my Rezound to my car's screen as opposed to using a car mount. I found this in another thread which seems like it should be able to get the job done:
http://www.amazon.com/HTC-Adaptor-Jetstream-Tablets-Package/dp/B005LSOPN4
The problem is, the cable length looks to be microscopic. If my car's screen is just a display, then I will need to access my phone's touch screen so I'll need some sort of extension (will be nice to see Google Music or Maps there for road trips). I want to hide the equipment in a compartment underneath the arm rest, so if I can do this with 1 cable coming out of the phone, it would be ideal; I probably won't bother if I need to have 3 cables hanging out of my phone.
I can't seem to find an extension anywhere. Does anyone have any ideas?

You don't need an extension. It just converts your micro usb to an hdmi out. You just need a 3-4 foot long hdmi cable. Assuming your headunit is hdmi compatible. Which I doubt it is, I know mine isn't and I have to use an hdmi to rca converter from there.

From my understanding, that won't work. It actually outputs an analog signal over usb, where the rez outputs a digital signal. You're more than welcome to try it, but others have reported it not working on other MHL phones.

Thanks for the suggestion.
The problem is that from what I read, the HDMI out gives audio that isn't all that great. Also, I'm looking to have a setup where I can just plug in a single cable and be good to go.
With a longer HDMI cable, I'd have this bulky converter, a bulky HDMI cable, and another cable coming out of the compartment to provide power to the device. Very messy.
If I can get an extension, I can just pull a single cable which will act as a charger, audio out, and video out. Much cleaner .

I agree. This is basically what I've read.
----------------------------------------------------------------
After doing tons of research, I don't think a passthrough - extension cable exists. Even if one did, it would have to come directly from HTC because the dongle I linked above is a custom 12 pin connection used. It looks like the Rezound has all pins, which is why, in the above post I linked, the user was able to get the extra audio port working.
I think what I'm going to need to do is pick up this cable, splice the dongle cable, and extend it using the bulk of the OEM flyer cable.
Let me know how it works for you, because that would be a lot easier than my current setup. Mine goes MHL----HDMI----ANALOG(RCA) CONVERTER-----INDASH.

If I go through with it, I will. I purchased the SGSIII for my wife (to upgrade her to 4G so she can keep unlimited data) with the hope she'll be willing to swap and take the Rezound. She kind of likes Sense, and I want CM9 (which is already on the SGSIII).
If she wants to keep the SGSIII, then I probably will do this. I'll still need a converter, but bing able to keep all that hidden away in the center console compartment out of sight would be completely awesome.
In something a bit unrelated, the SGS III uses a custom coverter, so I'll need to "extend" that in a similar fashion as well.
I will say this though, the clarity compared to the phones screen on any of these indash monitors SUCKS. I almost like just attaching my View 4g to the dash and using that over the indash monitors. But it is nice having that larger 7 in screen sometimes.

Did you ever find a way to hide your MHL adapter away from the phone, and just extend the 5 or 11-pin connection to the phone? I tried the older 5-pin MHL adapter with the 11-pin to 5-pin adapter tip for my SGSIII and it works. However, when I tried to use a standard micro-USB female to male extension cable (www .amazon.com/Micro-B-Female-Extension-Manhattan-307420/dp/B007TLEDTW) between the tip and the MHL adapter, it wouldn't pass any video or audio.

Stock Car Kit

Picked up the Razr Maxx HD on the 19th along with the Motorola Car Kit.
The Kit fits both the regular Razr HD and Maxx HD and also works with a silicone case (not for me,run naked)
Car kit works very well and removing and installing phone is smooth and charges it through the mount.
I use Pandora and Bluetooth constantly while driving and I am pleased with this kit.

So where did you get the car mount, did you have to order direct from Motorola?
Honestly if there's one thing I envy iPhone and even Blackberry users for, it's the readily-available accessories.
I got mine from Verizon and works pretty flawlessly with the car dock app that's pre installed. The only problem I've noticed is that when I get a text while driving connected to Bluetooth it stops the music and says "say listen to hear the message", which is cool but it doesn't work at all for me.

Is it possible to separate the holder from the suction cup mount and perhaps get it mounted on a generic vent mount (like what I use for my older iGrip/iBolt stuff)?
I just got my mount today and it works great EXCEPT for it doesn't come with the car charger with built in aux out port. Without that cable, you need to unplug and plug in your aux cable every time you mount. I used the charger and cable from the original Droid Razr mount and it works great and the audio out works just fine. Not sure why they didn't include this charger/cable with the Razr HD version though.
Just got mine from Amazon. Mine also didn't come with the Y aux+charging cable.
Unfortunately it's not the same style as my iBolt stuff... I'm ordering an Arkon swivel ball vent mount and hoping that'll fit this thing (want the AC to cool my device on hot days... even if we are entering into winter...)
So does this mount have a mini plug (3.5mm) on it that can be used since it doesn't have the charger with the splitter?
Ho no... I wanted to by one on Amazon.com the RAZR Car Dock Motorola... and I can't, I'm outside of the U.S. ...

You can't help but appreciate the irony of telling phone to "Listen" to your text message and yet it never hears.. Reminds me of being married..

I'm using the charger that came with the Droid Razr mount that I bought last year and it works just fine and it looks exactly like that charger, so it should work just fine.
To answer someone else's question, no the mount doesn't have the 3.5mm jack, you need to plug straight into the phone each time you mount it. That's why the charger is so key so you have everything plugged in already and just mount the phone and go. Pretty weak that they didn't include it. Overall though, I like the mount better than the one for the Razr (non-HD). The ball locks tighter and doesn't move at all and the docking mechanism is better.
Just got the car mount/home smart mount (whatever its called). Worth every penny (was a little pricey). As op said very easy and smooth to mount. Also much safer IMO having your phone directly in front of you on the dashboard instead of down in your palm for the maniacs that insist on using their phone and driving (should be treated like a dwi IMO).

I bought it at the Verizon store ($79 I think) and its a package deal. It has the home mount and car mount separately but in the same box. It also came with an HDMI cord, a dual charging plug with 2 syncing/charging cables, a docking smart cable and a car charging plug. The "smart" home dock is just as cool as the car dock. A little expensive but worth every penny IMO. I use the home dock a lot also.
Edit. The pic I posted is the home dock. The car dock looks typical but well built.

Ordered one from Amazon, shipped quickly. The mount is well made, and the extra long usb charging cord is nice if you need that. However, plugging in the mini usb end to the phone is a pain in the butt once the phone is in the mount. I would say that is just the design of the phone and not an issue with the mount.
The pictures and description of the mount made me think the mini usb charging tip was a firm metal arm that would make plugging in easier, it is just reinforced in the plastic so it keeps a bend to it (like Gumby).
Getting the phone in and out of the mount is fairly easy with one hand, the spring loaded clamp seems a little aggressive to me....the phone is definitely not going to fall out
I got my mount in over the weekend. Love the mount - I'm using it with a proclipusa mount and iBolts ball adapter. I prefer this mount over the proclipusa mount I had for my Thunderbolt. I haven't tried using the charging chord yet so I can't speak to that - as said above it was different than what I was expecting from the pictures.

I like the proclipusa mount as well. I believe the ibolts ball adapter you're talking about is the AMPS plate found here, correct? I will try this.

Yes, that's it.
What charge are you using? After an hour of navigation and Pandora my phone will drop from 100% to 60% while charging using a generic usb adapter.
Thanks,

I just use the USB that came with the phone, plugged into a mini aux/usb socket. I don't have much of a commute, so I don't charge in the car very often.

I was getting "Insufficient Power" messages on my DNA from my enercell(radioshack) branded dual USB DC Charger. I just purhcased the Verizon Wireless DC charger with integrated Micro USB cable and additional USB slot ($29.99). Seems to work well.

Radioshack sells a couple Dual USB DC Chargers, but the amperage is quite low on one of them. Definitely get the one with the higher amperage as it is the same price (at least at mine).
