are you stock or rooted?

stock. only thing I did after the update was hold down the power button and did a forced restart.

Yeah, I'm also using the latest update, and I haven't had any problems. I'm using the connection to write this post now.
I'd try uninstalling and reinstalling the app, rebooting the phone in between. That's really all I can think of, assuming it was working before.
You can probably find the older version of the app somewhere - if you're still having problems, you could try that as a fallback.

cannot find location

Howdy, so I did a factory reset last night and since then my Prime cant seem to find my location , in any weather app or maps.....i tried a factory reset a few more times but still no luck....any ideas on what i can try to resolve this would be greatly appreciated!
Assuming you have location services turned on in the settings, remember tablets aren't meant to use gps. If you need gps, go buy a garmin or smartphone, because everyone around here will tell you tablets dont need gps.
I dont care about GPS, never my intention for the tablet.
Location sevices were all checked and that part of it worked perfectly before the factory reset.
Just got to work and it seems to connect ok here. Not sure what happened at home but I will test this evening.
Do you have another android device to test ?
It could be that Google doesn't know about your router's location. They have a database of wifi router locations and maybe they never got yours.

Yep, my Thunderbolt works fine at home.
I will test it this evening whenget back .
Thanks!
Uncheck the ALL location options, then save. Then check them again, you will get a nice terms and conditions dialogue, accept it. Save.
This is crazy....i had location working all day at work and the gym.
I get home and it can't find location. Weird thing is it was fine until i did the reset.
Ugh

I was curious because I had similar issues when I first turned on my prime but I had to go set the setttings like you have them to get it straightened out. Assuming that you have not already set everything up again, have you tried another factory reset?

I did a factory reset, that is when this particular issue starting happening.
Before that location was not a problem for me, at home or on any other wifi.
I did the factory reset intially because it was acting weird, sluggish and non responsive so I figured I would give that a shot before pursuing anything else ...and now my location service wont work at home. Which is strange because it does work on several other wifi spots that I have tried.
I read somewhere that Google can sometimes lose your wifi/router from its DB, just havent found out if there is a way to maybe force it back..?
The fact that it works everywhere but my home which is where I use it like 95% of the time kinda sucks...Maybe I will ping Asus and see what they have to say about it.

After factory reset WiFi does not connect.

After doing a factory reset on my BC series TFP, I cannot connect to my home WiFi connection. Prior to the update (on the latest .14 firmware) everything worked fine and I was able to connect and maintain a stable "excellent" connection throughout the house. Now, even right next to the router and after a router reboot, I cannot connect. It is stuck on "obtaining IP address" and no progress is made. Anyone else have this issue? Since the full update for .14 isn't available I can't even reflash the firmware. Any ideas? I will do another factory reset and see if that helps, but this worries me .
Would a router reset help?

I had a similar issue where it wouldn't connect to my work router with WEP on, turn WEP off and I could connect, the new update fixed that for me. Just as a test turn the security off on your router and see if it will connect.

Testing right now - this was an idea that I had but wasn't sure of how useful it would be. I'll report back soon.
No, a router reset didn't help - sadly I tried that first and it was of no use. Thanks for the input, though!
Edit: No dice. I sent in an Asus warranty repair request.

You should really think about using bettery security than WEP. Its very weak and be cracked in mere seconds. WPA2 if your router supports it, if not then even WPA is way better then WEP.

Here ya go.
I've seen something like this right after I did the .13 update and did a reboot.
The wifi would connect then drop constantly.
I tried the router reboot but that didn't fix the problem.
What I ended up doing was in the Network settings remov the wifi network and manually re connecting to it.
Same for me, i cant connect after i did a factory reset
just standing still on ''Obtaining IP address''
plz help me!
Could try to remove your device from the router dhcp list. I bet its having a problem giving out a new ip address to the same mac address.
If you have the option I would recommend dd-wrt.. Google it and unleash your router...

To get Wifi working again I downloaded the full 9.4.2.14 update (US in my case) and extracted the zip. I then renamed the zip contained within the first to "SD201_UPDATE.zip" and copied that file to my MicroSD (the slot on the tablet, not the keyboard dock). After it successfully copied I turned off my Prime and then held Volume Down and Power until some text appeared on the screen. After that I let go of the Vol - and Power and pressed Volume Up. This checks the kernel/ROM image on the MicroSD and then proceeds to reinstall the full OS, kernel, drivers, etc. After my Prime rebooted I was able to connect to WiFi without issue. I hope this works for you. Remember to download the .zip of 9.4.2.14 from Asus that corresponds to your model. If this resolves your issue gimme a thanks . Best of luck.

WiFi won't hand off to 3G - App issue or best Wi-Fi performance issue?

I have been having an issue with WiFi where it won't disconnect when leaving a hotspot. The device shows that it is still connected even though I'm miles from the router and won't pick up 3G. I performed a hard reset and on a fresh load everything appeared to be fine. When I walked out of WiFi range 3G picked up immediately. This morning, the issue is back.
Based upon doing a factory reset and it working, I believe it must be an app issue. Does anyone know of any apps that would cause a wifi lock or otherwise prevent the hand-off? I have over 150 apps installed and would prefer not to go one by one if someone can point me to any known issues.

how did you get to that point? did you install the pre-rooted updated ROM? if so did you also apply the radio update? (i really don't know if it needed done separately from the ROM, but i know there was a radio update included with the OTA)

I followed the guide at the following link and it worked perfectly for me. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1770501
Thinking through this further I did restore the wifi ssids from a titanium backup. TB restores data only - could there be an issue with that? I'm just really puzzled here.
I just did more testing. If I turn "Best Wi-Fi Performance" off I can get the device to switch to 3g when I'm out of range. I'd like to retain this setting but it obviously doesn't handoff correctly. Is there a timeout setting somewhere?

Wifi Disconnects

I know this has been discussed before, but after hours of searching last night on google, i have come to a standstill.
Has the wifi constant disconnect / reconnect been addressed.
Cheers.
re
looks like i will have to post my own reply.
I have reset the phone, and now it holds my wifi connections and does not disconnect.
Id suggest that if you have the same wifi disconnect and reconnect issues.. try a factory reset.
It connects fine, it just doesn't receive any data. I have tried flashing the stock modules. That didn't seem to help, I"ll keep trying hopefully when an decent AOSP rom appears i'll flash that and it'll correct the problem
Thanks

Is this with all wifi or just at your house, may be your equipment, does another phone have trouble connecting?
re
i just noticed last night something interesting, but not sure if it means anything to anybody else.
I have installed the chrome browser and have been using that for the last few days.
I connected to my home wifi and cruised around the web for an hour with no issues.
I decided to try the stock android browser and it would not load, like the wifi signal was gone.
i went back to my chrome browser and there was no issue loading new web pages.
I went back to my stock browser and reset it back to defaults and bamm it was working like the chrome browser with no hiccups.
Not saying this is a fix.. but it worked for me!

i was having trouble at work and at home.
Tried every wifi/wpa setting/channel/encryption/speed etc.
i have 5 other wifi devices that have no issues.
But after resetting my phone and then running chrome / clearing , resetting my stock browser .. all is good in data land.
edit.. just tested out my work wifi with the stock browser for about 10 min.. not one issue.
I have had success forgetting the Wi-Fi network that is causing issue and then reconnecting.

Bluetooth also suddenly stopped working for me. And it is not possible to turn it on. To make things more interesting - I didn't install anything on my omate since I upgraded to TEST_RELEASE_Omate_2100_TrueSmart_20140314.zip on the day when my omate 8GB/1GB 2100 arrived more than a month ago. It worked fine all this time, and without any visible cause it just stopped today.
I wanted to tether to ipad to provide internet connection, while riding in a bus, and suddenly snap - bluetooth turned itself off. I tried restarting omate. I couldn't figure anything to get it back to work.

how to do a hard reset of omate, without voiding the warranty? Do I need to wait until battery runs out?
No, just turn off quickboot and power the watch down. When you turn it back on Bluetooth will probably reinitialize and work again. For a while.

Quickboot didn't knock it out. The defective TrueSmart MTK firmware and hardware combination cause all sorts of problems with using Bluetooth, including some that require a full power cycle reset. That is not possible with Quickboot enabled unless the battery runs down or is removed.

Glad to see your BT and TS are working fine now...
All el devices could be "fixed" by restarting it.
They are all using RAM and/or dalvik cache and that has to cleared sometimes...
Dalvik cache is a "place" where Android decompile apk files for quicker access, so when you wip dalvik cache from recovery you are clearing everything so system has to decompile apk files again and RAM is cleared also...
It's like fresh start and it "fix" many software issues that way...
If you have ADB tools and rooted device, you can use adb reboot from adb shell, no need to open your watch, lose warranty and pull battery out...
