Sunken home button - Galaxy S III Q&A, (US Carriers)

Does anyone else have a sunken in home button? I've had my SGS3 for about two weeks and the home button seems to be lower. I went to the Sprint store today and compared it to the floor model and the button on that one seems to be slightly raised. Is this just from daily use? I doubt it is since I've only it for a short period of time. Would love to have some insight from other members before I go in for a possible swap.

Mine is doing the same thing. I guess we need to wait and see if it becomes a problem.

Yeah, but I want to know while I'm still in my two week grace period

Another reason to ditch the home button lol...i havent touched the home button since the first wk i got my phone, using LMT to replace the buttons

mine is like a half mm raised
maybe it's just a false perception due to a case?

App that allows you to use either gestures or Pie chart with onscreen buttons to replace the capacitive/physical home button, I use pie chart u can remap the shortcuts, i never need to use the home button or capacitives.

Nah. I took off the case and screen protector to make sure and my button is definitely lower. Was just wondering if this is common after a couple weeks (which I highly doubt) or if my device is faulty

I'm going to try it also. Is there a way to unlock the phone with an action? It's a terrible interface, but has some useful features.

[Q] does anyone know of a good screenshot app for the amaze?

I previously used Andross * on my rooted Nexus One, but unfortunately it seems that app is not compatible with the newer high end phones.
I'm looking for something similar... Any suggestions?
Thanks

Try using ddms.bat in the Android SDK.
If you don't know what is is... Google it.

[QUESTION]

After 4 refurbs I finally got a new phone, went it to Sprint and was going to get another refurb, but they gave me a brand new one. So, I have been extremely observant with this new one, I have noticed when typing my finger press doesn't always register, its only on the left side of the phone in la.escape mode. And sometimes the spacebar doesn't recognize. So i downloaded order and chaos, (wow mobile) and the virtual joystick stutters and doesn't register my finger press. *NOTE* this isn't app based. It happened when clicking on apps from drawer no matter what launcher. I'm wondering if its the digitizer. 4 days oldandth is one fails already. Sick of HTC.
EDIT: good example right there. Meant * 4 days old and this * and landscape*

Just curious... Are you using go locker or some other lock screen? I had stuttering touch response when I was using go locker......
If that's not the case... Then maybe you need it replaced... Again...
I am using golocker. Haha maybe that's the problem. I'll turn it off for a few days and see if that helps. Thanks for the tip!

Yeah let us know how it goes. I really like go locker and I have asked the devs to fix it but I never got a response from them...
Disabling it did the trick. That's so weird. Glad I know a fix, sad an amazing locker has to be disabled. I guess I can just turn it off when gaming ect. Still a bummer. But thanks for the tip!

Taking Screen Shots

Just as any FYI, I didn't know it -
There are 2 ways to take screen shots on the EVO LTE.
1. Press and Hold Power and tap the Home button. This drops the screen shot right into your camera folder.
2. Press and Hold Power + Volume Down. Takes a screen shot, and puts it into a screen shot folder. You can also review it once its done.
I know several of you probably already know this, but noobs like me probably had no idea that there where 2 ways and they acted differently.
I was looking for this feature last night for an hour... couldn't find it. I thought I was trying every possible button combo but I guess not.
Thanks!
Thanks man! I hated it going to my camera shots folder. Now I can make it go to a separate folder.. Awesome.

It takes longer than the other method, you have to hold them both for a bit before it happens.
I knew about the power + home method.
I wonder why they made two way to take pics unless it has to do with an ICS method and then they added a sense method.

It never worked for me either. I must have tried like 50 times and finally it worked. I just use power+home because its so much easier. BTW do we really need like 5 screen shot threads?
I used the first method often but never knew about the power + volume down trick. Thanks!

I remember on the evo3d,when you took a screen shot the shutter sound would go off! On this phone it doesn't! Am I doing something wrong? Any one also having this problem!

It will only go off if you use the power + volume down
Power + volume down reboots my phone, I'm on flex rom with the menu remap don't know if that has anything to do with it

The power and volume down you have to press at the same time where as the the power and home you press power then home.

Yes. Exactly. Power + home is sense, I believe. I could NEVER get the timing right with that method. Power + vol down works every time for me,...AND goes to screenshots folder, which is nice.

Home key durability?

Just picked up a sgs2 from negri this week. I am coming from a nexus one which had a power button issues. Even though I didn't have the problem I was still cautious and used a reboot app which had options to reboot , turn off and reboot to recovery.
Now with sgs2, I noticed I am hitting the home key a lot and became worrisome. Have any of you guys have or had any problems with the home key?

one year and going good
Eleven months and no problems, and I use the home button A LOT. The phone may not look the best built (that accolade goes to the iPhone 4...) but I haven't heard of any aesthetic hardware problems.
Thx guys. It makes me feel better that I got the sgs2.

[Q] Is your home button also hard to press?

Coming from S5 i've noticed that Alpha's home button is way harder to press then the one on S5, it's kinda stiff and doesn't have that 'click' like S5 does.
Anyone else also noticed that, or i have a phone with a faulty home button?
I think that's just how the alpha is. Mine is like that too

Thanks for the reply. It's kinda odd at first, but i'm getting used to it.
yes i have the same problem. Home button is hard to press than S5.
I think they made it that way.
Yes. It's a bit flatter than other samsung phones. Dont like it. I prefer the s6's home button, very clicky. But hey, gotta live with it.
