Hello guys don,t be dihearted on radar - HTC Radar

HI THERE ALL PEOPLES ARE TALKING ABOUT HTC RADAR THAT THEY ARE NOT GOOD.
IT IS WRONG ALL THE WAY,B/C I HAVE MY RADAR LOADED WITH ALL THE LATEST GAME AND APPS ARE RUNNING WELL AFTER I HAVE UNLOCKED IT WITH DFT ROM. IT IS ROCKING. LOOK AT THE THREAD.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1685271

Radar is good, but HTC don't. They don't support windows phone like nokia did. even we, as owner, have to pay for tur-by-turn voice guided navigation while nokia give it for free to their customer

[Q] I e-mailed HTC about Windows 7 and the HTC Leo and got this ...

So thought I would show you all their answer
Dear Tom.Hazell,
Hi,
Unfortunately, at this time HTC and Microsoft do not have plans to offer Windows Phone 7 upgrades to any existing HTC phones. HTC is working closely with Microsoft to bring Windows Phone 7 to market later this year.
Thank you for contacting HTC
Best regards
Luke

This has been known for a long time now.
I keep seeing different answer all over the place so thought I would actually e-mail them.
Their official stance has always been "No" since that post came out. It's only a matter of time til it's ported over like Android was. If you search you can find the post where someone shows WP7 booting to an HD2 already. I think the guys name is Cotulla?
Im surprised you even got a reply.......

[Q] Has the HTC update caused some Windows Phones to go 16 bit?

i m gonna buy a 7 Mozart soon but just got a news that the NoDo update decreases image quality to 16 bits of some HTC handsets.
so if anyone over here has experienced such strange problem of color banding plzz post it here because i want this phone so bad..
or you could just read the thread that already exists and is on the front page
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=924486
i've seen lots of people repost on here over the years - too lazy to use the search button etc - but not even reading the first half of the front page takes some beating.
sorry but didn't see it before..
i already read that whole thread after posting this one..
i usually do search but this time i was so confused that i directly went to create a new thread..
also would u suggest me to buy a Mozart or a HD7 as a better wp7 phone..??
No HTc update for now. Mozart Philippines.
I wonder what locations did HTC deliver the updates?
Sent from my T8698 using XDA Windows Phone 7 App
same here no update for HTC 7 Mozart
Location: Philippines

[Q] HTC Mozart! is it worth it..

I'm plannig to get HTC Mozart, but there are some issues i have to reconsider before going for purchase and for that purpose i need some advice from its users..
1) first i would like to know which OS version of WP, Can be jailbreaked with chevron?
2) What are the pros and cons for jailbreaking
3) as em from Pakistan where Marketplace service is not available, so can i download free apps from marketplace by jailbreaking or it is possible without jailbreaking it?
4) And what other problems are you guys facing as a user :|
And yes i did some research on google, but still confuse on above few points..
Marketplace service is available in Pakistan, you can download any app from it.
why you want to jailbreak it? I assume you mean unlocking it so you can use other SIMs in it? unlocking can be done for £8-15/- over the internet and then phone is free to use in Pakistan with any SIM.
It's windows phone 7 OS on HTC Mozart and Microsoft is expected to rollout its major update in september.
No problem with it and in my opinion it's much much better then iPhone or Androids
1) to ``jailbreak`` you must either chevron unlock on a 7004 (original firmware in your mozart) or upgrade to the DFT mango rom(where you will no longer be able to download official xbox live games, only side load)
2)on my above post
3)you can without jailbreak as long as you create a Windows live id of a supported country and enter that to register your mozart.
4)its a brilliant device but i could use a better batter other than that I dont think I`ve had any other problem
hope i helped

I just give one feedback: It can just work 30 hours afer full charged. It is so quick.

[Q] wm 6.5 on titan

is there anyone ho can built for me a windows 6.5 r om for my titan i dont like the 7.5 rom so my question is who can built a wm 6.5 rom for my titan X310e
This is not a joke i realy want a 6.5 rom on my titan.
the titan is very fast and a lot of + but i mist my 6.5 rom that i haved on my old hd2
i think buying another hd2 is going to be your best bet on that one!
We did see that a version of WM6 was running on an HD7 as an app, but right now we don't have Custom ROMs until DFT releases their tool for the Titan and even then we will have to wait until whatever was making WM6 run on it is released, if at all.

With Apollo only a few months away, I hightly doubt even if DFT releases their tools, any sensible ROM chef might want to spend his time trying to develop for what we all know, a dead platform. It is as good a request as asking someone to port Windows 95 on your Apple Mac.

absolute tomtom are the best many more possebilitisch and mutch more accurate and also you can find the new maps and crackt them , with navigon instalt from the market you can do notting i buy navigon on the first of november en over here in the netherlands it's neccesary to update your maps but with this app it isnt possible. there are a lot of changes on our roads all the time and now a must wait and buy a new program on the market for stying updated.I am a courier and travel from nord to south so i need an up to date program. So the biggest problem is that you cant update by your self with all this app's.
BUT i love my Titan , so fast and a lovely big screen.

Have you tried HTC Locations on your Titan yet?
It comes pre-installed.
You can download maps of places as you need it. May be that will help?
I dident no that i t is possibl to download maps so i am now busy with downloading maps and give it a try , thanks for al your answers your very kind.
updated:
Well now 2 day's later and driving a lot of km i have tryed it but there are a lot of negative issue's with this program for instand no navigated to contact persons en with postcode its not working well and so on , i am sorry but no better program than tomtom.
wen its busy it's going well but many things to do before the route is accepted and he can't not a lot of adresses and postcode, not my program than is Navigon a lot better but i have paid 84 euro .
Here is another vote for locations, great Sat Nav have been using it constantly for the last week.
I am working with postcode's and the most postcode's he dond reconised so for my work as a courier it's suks.
Tomtom reconist every postcode also with the house nr. and that is waht i needed because most of the time i have only a postcode with housenumber and the name of the contactperson in a factory without the factoryname it's a lot of time a letter that most of thime must sign and bring it back to my client. contract letters and so on.
BUT it's a free nav.
BUT not good for me.

Just got a lumia 800

Right, never owned a windows mobile in my life, Im an android person, but Ive just bought a nokia lumia 800. The phone is a few months old but its in decent condition for its age. What can i do with this phone OR do to it (without screwing it up). I know the lumia 710 can be jailbroken (hate that terminology, jailbreaking is for ios devices). can the same be acheived with the lumia 800?? I guess i should do a search. Easy to do or a ball ache? Im still going to stick with my htc sensation but its handy to know this stuff and where better place to find the experts than on xda forums :highfive:
Any help and advice will be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance
Edit.................Ive just found what Im looking for thanks
Please can a mod lock or delete this post. Thanks

hi nice to see another lumia fan well it goes somthing like this
if your lumia has a qualcomm bootloader your free to install the custom rom in the dev thread on here but as i have found your phone might be on 7.35.0.0 and come up as qualcomm device but if you dont have access to the nand (in windows it would come up as a flash disc) then your pretty much stuck with stock roms and stock apps untill the dload bootloader is cracked. have a read in the dev forum there quite bit of info to get you started

Yes, no better mobile phone operating system in my book. I couldnt turn down the chance of the lumia because it was cheap. And a change is as good as a rest so the saying goes

Tip for when you need the phone to last longer (like weekend visits etc.)
Sync and mobile data is a huge battey drain. Disable mobile data and it the phone will last for days.
My advice is go slow..
With Android, most of the stock google applications like gmail were garbage so you had to go to the marketplace to find better versions.
Also, you have to root Android phones to get rid of crapware installed by carriers.
With WP7 and the Lumia..
Like iPhone, all the stock applications are excellent quality. The Mail program for instance is second to none; I don't even have any supplemental programs to it..
Also, while the Lumia will come with carrier crapware, you have probably already found out you can simply longpress and delete these with out jailbreaking or rooting. I understand this was a rule Microsoft imposed on all carrier programs to create another selling point for WP7..
So the only reason you would need to unlock would be to install homebrew applications, custom roms, or simply dicker around with the phone. All of which are fun to do but unnecessary.
In short, I found with Android (I had a Samsung Vibrant), you HAVE to unlock and Root just to have a good quality system. With WP7, you don't - the phone is good out of the gate and you only need to Root & jailbreak to do some higher level experimenting.
Good luck - hope you enjoy the phone!
What should I do?

Hello,
I have some carrier crapware into my Lumia 800 - it doesn`t let me to use another SIM card but the provider`s (it`s locked on Bouygues Telecom - France) And I was wondering if a NOOB`s guide to interop unlock my phone exists. Thanks.
Android convert
My first visit to the lumia 800 forums and I am in the same boat as the op.
I've been an android fanboy for several years (htc desire, samsung galaxy s, htc sensation, htc one x, acer iconica a500) and have found myself obsessed to the point of addiction. Yesterday, I bit the bullitt, put my one x on e-bay and ordered a network un-locked lumia 800 to be delivered today.
I would like advice on how to unlock the full potential of my device and will be reading this forum very carefully before I do anything risky but, before I start, could somebody possibly advise as to wether there is anything that is important to address before and during my initial set-up?
Hopefully I will not become too obsessed with my new venture and any informed advice would be much appreciated to a windows phone noob
ps Had a windows mobile 6.5 device a few years ago
Ive left the Lumia 800 as it is. I wanted to jailbreak it as I wanted to install a specific gps app, which I have on my androids but do you know what?? Nokia Drive is really really very good imo. Im happy with it as it is. The interface took me some getting used to though but thats just me. I will probably end up jailbreaking it in the end as this is what Im like, but for now, its ace

First few hours on the device and loving it. Couldn't sync google contacts which was really bothering me but did an update whilst searching for a solution and the update had solved the problem!
Would love to 'jailbreak' it (like to mess) but, rightly or wrongly, I am getting the impression that it's not possible on this. Any ideas how to do this? Is it like root access.
It's all very different to android but makes a great change so I think I'll be staying with this little beauty for some time.
