Auto brightness not working using ExTweaks - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am on Wanamlite 12.3 ROM and Siyah kernel, BEFORE I installed ExTweaks, the auto brightness was VERY responsive, for example when I cover the sensor (next to the front camera) the brightness would go low immediately and when I took off the cover the brightness would go immediately back to when it started.
Now - after I installed ExTweaks - , it doesn't response just stays the same EVEN though the brightness is on auto, and I didn't touch in the screen settings of ExTweaks AT ALL!
Any solution for that ?
Thank you.

Auto brightness issue , please help!

I got my new SGS2 today
And i feel like the auto brightness is way to sensetive ,
Almost every time i change angle its change its brightness
Any suggestions?
I don't use auto brightness, just set it down low manually to save your battery.
I'm kinda having the opposite problem. No matter what the light is if I'm in auto-brightness mode it always sets the display to minimum. It's really annoying. Is there a way to calibrate that?
anyone?...

i Don't know about the auto brightness but if you uncheck the auto brightness and place your finger on the very top where the clock is and if you slide your finger towards the opposite direction it will change the brightness of the screen .....from left to right is more brightness and right to left is less....so i think you haven't checked the auto brightness thing that's why you are getting that problem.....

[Q] Brightness glitch for ICS

I am running siyah kernel b7 and CriskeloServanTeam V05 (Im not too sure if this works on any other roms). I figured out a glitch to get the brightness lowered than the default bightness settings.
First turn off automatic brightness in display.
Open default INTERNET browser, go to settings - Brightness/colour, Turn off automatic brightness (if its on).
There is 3 levels of brightness that are lower than the normal default brightness
Select 1 of them. It is a bit blue but it does work
Let me know if this works on other roms
If you wish to lower your brightness below standard 0% I would suggest you use Screen Filter, highly customizable. Free from Google Play.

Display brightness control

I have just updated my s2 ti 4.04 every thing is fine but brightness. Control in taskbar is not
Not working any more, what should i do is there any wayto vet back that option...?
Hi
I use Custom Auto Brightness: it's a freeware that allow you to tune your brightness.
It greatly improve the brightness management.
Lux is working excelent

As your light sensor is broken, you set the screen brightness settings to manual (disabled auto-brightness) and maximum level?!
If the screen is still not "lighter", then check that you don't have installed a screen filter app, which could also change the screen brightness.
And as you don't post your ROM and kernel version, in some ROMs/kernels you can change the screen brightness too, and this may overwrite the settings in "normal" display settings menu.
If you had a custom kernel running on your phone before, you should wipe cache (and Dalvik cache) in recovery mode.
If you already checked everything and screen is still darker, then it could be a hardware issue.
In different SGS2s, different hardware components were used. And the broken light sensor as a damaged hardware component may have influence for the screen brightness too.
Enough
You have two threads already on this subject. Here's one and this one. Do not make a fourth.

Auto Brightness issue in low light

The Auto Brightness works well during day time.
It is observed that in low light or total darkness it suddenly becomes zero.
After a couple of screen off/on the Auto brightness works in low light.
Anybody facing this problem??

Reboot device or calibrate proximity sensor in phone manager once. Check update and stay updated.
The phone manager has all tests but there is no calibration option.
Did the sensory test and the test result are good.
But the issue is still there , the brightness does not increase in dark/low light
The phone is updated with latest patches.

Me too experiencing the same thing, I just tried auto brightness off. Seems like a poor calibration.
