Blue GS3 is better than White?!? - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm using my Blue Galaxy S3,but yesterday I bought a White one.Just for compare..Then I put them side by side and tried youtube video. And what I saw? Blue got better colors than White..I was really confused. Also, I used same wallpaper on both phones and they didnt have same colors. Is it normal? Does anyone got same problem?

No GS3 will be exactly identical due to manufacturing process. Choose the best you found.

All S3 has a slightly different colour actually. Blue or white S3... You can find one Blue/White S3 that look nicer/uglier than yours actually.

Duhhhh....in terms of specs, they are absolutely, 100% identicle! So how the blue can be better than the white is beyond me....unless you've just created this thread to cause arguments....

- Similar , identical phones , just color variation , unless you're likely specific football team

If the color variation is so great that it warrants a discussion, the two phones - most likely - had different "screen modes" selected.
Settings > display > screen mode. The difference between Standard and Natural alone are relatively dramatic.
You're most welcome.

Are we really so thoughtless that we are going to compare a WHOLE population of something based off if a sample size of TWO? Come on now..

You have got a lot of spare money to buy a second similar phone....just to compare!

Its possible the white is throwing your eyes off, that's why the blue looks much better.

Also the screens are extremely inconsistent your blue one may no tint (lucky duck) and white may have a tint like I do (ugly yellow :banghead: )

I dont think they have different hardware

Ever single phone has identical parts but the screens can differ. E.g there was big issues with blue/yellow tinted screens with the iPhone 4**** due to the glue etc used in the displays

It can be because of phone's color surrounding the screen i.e. in blue frames the colors looked better than in white frames (because your/my/somebody else's brains work that way - "correcting" the colors so you "can understand those").
Try removing the phone color or changing both to same color from video/image and then compare to see if there are differences.

Have the white version, and it`s looks amazing with beautiful red Nillkin hard case!
Check this out: http://www.nillkin.com/En/ProductView.asp?ID=2691

My friend just got the blue version and he's phone is laggy as crap.. :s he updated and everything but it's really bad. I tried rebooting and wipe cache etc but nothing works...

I think the two S3s that you got just happens to have a different batch of screens.
One screen has a cool tone, one as a warm tone. The cool one, will tend to make whites a little blue, while the warm one will make whites q little yellow.
It's perfectly normal. In fact, both have their pros and cons.
Warm ones tend to display colours in a way pleasing to the eyes. Cold ones are not as pleasing, but are way more accurate.

Hardware built are totally the same. Just based on your preference. White looks clean, but blue looks cool...Match with different colors/types of casings will make your devices look even nicer.

Cool or Warm temp display?

Like most phones there are two types of LCDs used. Some having cool temperature displays with a more blueish tint to the screen (my preference) and some with warm temperature with a more yellow tint to the screen. This is more noticeable when viewing a white screen. Anyways, trying to see which one in more prevelant in the HTC rezound. The phone on the left is the blue tint display and the phone on the right is the yellow tint display.
Mine looks white when on a white screen lol. Maybe once you upload the pics I can tell!!!

Mine is warm for sure, which is good in my opinion. Warm always looks closer to "real life" colors to me.

Also just so you know, it's almost impossible to tell which one you have unless you are comparing it to the opposite one right in front of your face.

I can personally tell as soon as I turn the device on.
question
For the people that are claiming to have a cool display. Are you also having the problem with the bottom four buttons lighting up pinkish instead of red? Kind of curious because I have seen this as a pattern with a couple of different rezounds. On the rezounds that I have seen with the Warm display, they do not have the pink button issue, that I have seen. This could just be a coincidence with all of the rezounds that I have seen. Just wondering.
Nope. I have beautiful red buttons and what I believe to be a cool display.

Same here! I have nice red buttons and a cool display. I have been checking all day and have never seen a hint of yellow!
Interesting. I would definitely say mine is warm. I noticed my old hTC EVO 4G was much bluer/cooler like the phone on the left in the OP picture.

Screen opinion

I know I've seen this topic become but I can't remember where so I'll ask here.
Which do you prefer for your screen (mostly noticeable on the whites) the "cool blue" or the "warm yellows"
I'm seeing this differentiation more and more with these new phone specifically in the past year. Before that I never noticed the difference.
I have two phones and ironically they are one of each. I have to send one back but can't decide =/
Looking for some opinions

Ditto, my white is white... doesn't have blue or yellow tint on it. I hate screens with a color temperature that is way off... if I can notice either yellow or blue tinting to whites, I am annoyed.

Galaxy S2 Black or White?

Today on announce site one person want to exchange my galaxy s2 white for Black galaxy s2! What do you think about? You prefer Black version or white? And why?

The battery cover is equal?
I would stick with white, white is sexier imo. I have a black one but I would have gone with white if I could.

I think the white version are more scratchable
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA
I beg to differ, they're both equally scratchable and any white-ish scratches that come up appear more on the black one.
If you're talking about the battery cover, it would look out of place with a black cover on a white phone anyway..

When mixed...its pretty nice...haha
Black is seen less if it scratches, white gets dirty quickly .. so I have black. sorry for my english
Black, imo !
Dude, they have the same battery cover, every single thing is same on the phone except for the body colour! But, in my opinion i would say black because i think it doesn't get dirty easily. You can dust off any thing off the black one, whereas the white one gets all the dirty "black" stains very easily. Even if you by chance drop your phone somewhere outside, say on mud- the black one wont be as dirty as the white one will become.
mmmm imo, black bro
Black of course

a little late but i am surprised that noone mentions that the black has a better gpu and cpu than the white . Search a little!

Liquid spillage or image burn in???

So I acquired my s3 this Sunday and today I was watching Netflix and I notice some markings while the screen was black. I hadn't notice it till now and it's bugging the heck out of me. Do any of you have this? Could I take it to Sprint and have them exchange it? It's so noticeable in a black screen

That sounds like my GS2. This has been a major problem with the Galaxy S2, at least on T- Mobile. When the screen is black, you can see little lines. I haven't heard of this on the Galaxy S3 though. They should take it back and give you a new one. I was hoping Samsung had fixed this problem. Good luck...

It's called ink marks, search forums here for multi-dozen page threads on it.
AMOLED sucks. It has "ink marks", it's very dim, bizarre over-saturated colors, and the whites look "dirty" e.g. yellow or pink, and also there are tints from the sides and also a tint gradient sometimes where half the screen is slightly tinted even straight on. And S III is also PenTile (blurry).
Look at the HTC One X screen or EVO, Incredible, even a Droid or another phone with LCD. S III is far inferior to these unfortunately.

White or Grey? Which looks better?

I don't know if I want to keep my white or go with the Grey. opinions are welcome. Which one looks better, white or Grey? Thanks for the help.
Sent from my SCH-I605 using xda premium
It's all preference.
I liked the grey better, but that was because of the home button. The white didn't match in my eyes.
If you're looking to switch, may want to hold off because word is, a black version is coming out soon.
What he said ^^.. My daughter has the white one and I have the grey one. I personally like the grey better but she likes the white better. All preference.
Sent from my SCH-I605 using xda premium
It's a known fact that the grey one is faster, gets better reception and will not break if you drop it!!
Ok, none of that is true, but it is true that the grey one looks better!!
Ok, that isn't true either (for a lot of folks)!
But if you are asking for opinions, then mine is. . . GREY!!
I suggest you go to a store and hold both phones. Then pick the one you like best and buy it.
Good luck.
The grey looks less cheap, will hide dirt better, and the gd button doesn't stand out as much.
The white flip cover gets dirty on the inside of the cover quite quickly. The white however may lend itself better to the new coloured flip covers that are available. I don't know if grey and pastel-orange or blue will look so good.
I went with Grey. I had the white galaxy s3 and if you have a screen protector on the phone it starts looking dirty after awhile due to finger oil/dirt that happens to rub off.
Can't go wrong with either though.

I came to say similar things about the white one, lol.
I got a tpu hybrid case & it has black and clear parts to it, so it really looks nice over the white GNote, even if it wasn't I love the look of white on this, it really makes it pop
Sent from my SCH-I605 using xda premium
I prefer grey. Looks better. But my sgs3 was white. Lol
I got the grey simply because it almost blends the VZW logo in with the phone; you don't see it as much. Also, there are going to be a lot more cases that will be black as opposed to white, and unless you like serious contrasting colors, most cases will match the dark grey of the Note as opposed to the white color. Hope this helps.
I got the white one. And I tell everyone I meet that I'm on a verizon plan.

There should be a poll if you want to see which is the popular vote. Anyways, I like the white. I've had dark colored phones until now and the white on a giant phablet makes me think I have a unique looking phone.
Grey but I had no choice but to buy white

I prefer the gray version. My S III was white (and it was my first white phone) and while it's a nice look, I just feel that the gray looks better on the Note II.
