I receive this error when I try to connect mass storage through CWM:
Code:
Unable to open ums lunfile (No such file or directory)
Is it because I don't have an external sd card? If that's the case, is there a way to access the internal sd from cwm without adb?
Second, what happened to Red5? lol

On some versions of CWM the external sd card and the internal sd card are swapped.. Maybe try and reverse what one you picked last time.

try to format it thru phone
Tried that a couple of time and it didn't work. After a couple of reboots it worked now. Thanks.
Still got a question though.
What are the correct settings for formatting the sd card from windows?
Is it necessary to partition it from CWM? What are the correct setting for this?
LE: Ok. I got myself deeper in trouble. I managed to format the sd card from CWM. I mounted the sd card and copied update-cm-7.2.0-RC1-p500-signed.zip over. I wiped the phone's memory and tried to install CM7 and got the following error: "E: Can't open /sdcard/update-cm-7.2.0-RC1-p500-signed.zip (bad)". I also tried with update-oxygen-2.3.2-LGP500-KANG-signed_v2.6.zip but doesn't work either.
I was thinking of trying to partition the sd card from CWM but i'm afraid i will make it unable to mount back again and this time i got no android to format it from.
Also it seems that formatting the sd card from cwm doesn't really work. The files are still there though it says that it completed.
LE2: I managed to mount sd card from cwm and copied over a cwm backup folder i had in my computer. Takes a while to copy it like it really does something. But after i try to restore or remount usb storage the files aren't there anymore.
can you tell me why do you want to patition your sd card? do you want to create second partition (sd-ext) or what?

Just format your SDCARD from SETTINGS - STORAGE, after that proceed with the instalation of CM7 or whatever you want. Don't partition your SDCARD if you don't know how to do that and if you don't need partitioned SDCARD. It is not necessary to do that if you don't use an APPS2SD app, so don't waste your time with that.

cannot acces internal sd

as topic title says, i cant acces the internal SD anymore.
did a full stock flash via odin, but still get the same error.
when phone is booted up it gallery keeps crashing (cant find the internal sd).
also in cwm i get the message E:Can't mount /sdcard
i tried unmouting and formatting, but still not accesible.
is there a way to reformat the internal SD via adb ?

[Q] Internal SD damaged - How to rescue? How to fix?

Suddenly I get this error in the notification bar:
Damaged SD Card - SD card is damaged. Try reformatting it.
And the SD card is not mounted. It's the internal one, the USB storage one I guess.
My external SD card works fine and is being mounted.
This is a huge problems since a lot of apps doesn't work when there is no internal SD. Swiftkey can't find it's languange packs, Gallery and many other video/image apps also fail etc.
If I reboot to recovery and to install zip from sdcard, I can see both my internal and external sd card. So recovery seem to be able to mount the internal sd, but android itself does not.
Now, I could format it, but I would like to at least be able to back up before I do, which is a bit of a problem since can't take the card out and use in a card reader and I can't get android to mount and share it either, even though recovery is able to mount the card just fine.
1) Does anybody know why this has happened?
2) Does anybody know how I can backup the contents of the internal sd, even if I can't get android to mount it?
3) Does anybody know how I any other way of fixing this problem?
Thanks in advance!
Rom & Kernel plz? :silly:
Also, Not really sure about this but I have a far reminiscence of having read somewhere that you can actually access your folders through USB from CWM once they are mounted. Please someone confirm this because I may be speaking bull****; otherwise you could try to backup your data from your very same computer.

Flash latest Siyah kernel (if you're on ICS/JB) and then boot to CWM. In mounts&storage mount USB storage and connect pc and phone via usb.

[Q] error mounting emmc and cannot detect external sd card

Good day,
I am using SGS2 i9100g.
I have flashed from CM10.0, JB4.1.2 to pacman 3.00, JB4.2.2
ISSUES:
1. error mounting emmc and cannot detect external sd card
2. When i want to use camera or gallery, there is an error saying "No external storage available"
Attempted solutions:
I have tried the following but it does not solve my problem
1. re-flash the custom rom and gapps. (full wipe with wipe cache and dalvik cache)
2. reformatted my sd card to fat32.
3. went to recovery to unmount and remount my external sd card
4. tried to mount emmc in recovery but returns an error "error mounting emmc"
5. off and on and also rebooted my smartphone
6. tried these codes shown at the bottom(to manual remount)
$ su <enter>
# mount -o remount rw /mnt/sdcard<enter>
Side notes:
- I am not sure whether is both related in terms of cannot mount emmc and not detecting my sd card.
- My sd card can be seen in storage with many free space(new sd card) can unmount and mount but the "Mount usb storage" is sealed, my internal storage also can be seen with a lot of free space.
- I am not sure about this but i have googled and saw that some people said that cyanogenMod has bugs regarding the folder of sd card and internal memory directory are swapped(or something like that)
- By using ES file explorer i can see mnt/extSdCard(which is my external sd card) with my files inside but in my mnt/sdcard(i am not sure if this is for internal memory) there is nothing but i cannot find emmc folder inside /mnt.
- I have a storage folder which has sdcard0 which contains nothing, sdcard1 which contains my file in my external sd card and a usbdisk0 contains nothing also.
- Now i am not sure which is the cause of the problem where i cannot use my camera phone and gallery
Please help and thanks in advance
Every help and suggestion is appreciated

I have found a solution. Just reflash back to stock and then flash to custom rom.(repartition with an uncompatible .pit file can cause a traumatic event to a person i.e me )
ATTENTION!!!
DO NOT MESS WITH .PIT FILE!!! I've did a mistake earlier and i've paid the price of bricking my phone. Plus when you meddle with the wrong .pit file, it will corrupt the internal memory and as far as i have searched through the xda forum, nothing works and re-flashing back to stock rom can also cause problems.
Hope this information will inform all of you so that you will not make the same mistake as i have done.
Peace

Do you think it would work if I just redo repartition with a known correct PIT file?
Or going back to Stock is a must?
Thanks!

[Q] Wont go past bootlogo (no internal storage in TWRP)

Hi
So I was playing around with the internal memory settings on my P780 and tried to partion my external 32 GB sd card so that my phone would recognize it as an internal storage. Anyhow, when i turned of my phone and inserted my 32 GB card and then turned it back on I didnt get past the Google bootlogo. So I fired up TWRP and from there I cant mount my internal storage since it says its on 0 MB.
Ive tried the factory reset button, another sd card, and even to re-flash my rom with no succes. When I flash, the log says:
E: unable to mount /emmc
E: unable to mount /data
E: unable to mount /cache
E: unable to mounte /system
any ideas on how to make my phone detect the internal storage again?

What did you do to your internal memory?
Did you tried to reboot the phone without external memory ?
Did you removed the external memory when your phone booted second time ?
Did you done any backup to your system ?

I went in to the storage setting and tried to make my external SD card as default. When I was done partioning my SD card I turned my phone off and put the SD card inside and then switched it on. The phone said that the card was damaged and I therefor formated it. I might have taken out the external card when I booted the phone the second time. There is no backup. My computer dont recognize my phone when I plug it in and i cant browse the sd nor internal storage. I was running the lates SLX rom and everything was running perfect up until this point.
Thanks for the reply Stympy
Problem solved!
I first tried to flash via SP flash tool, but failed and hard bricked the device. Then I followed the steps Stympy posted in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/lenovo-p780/help/lenovo-p780-mt6589-device-hard-bricked-t2890675
And flashed on a stock rom, and now my phone works normally again.
So the lesson is kids: if you mess things up, just hard brick your device and then flash it.
