[Q]MAJOR and confusing mobile data related problem - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So I received an SMS from T-Mobile saying that I had gone over my Fair Use Policy and I can browse and check email but other services such as video won't work. This seemed weird to me because I am 100% sure I couldn't have used up 750mb of mobile data as I had barely downloaded anything apart from emails, twitter, messages (nothing big like streaming songs or videos).
So, curious, I went to check my Data Usage in Settings. It said that I have used 1.09GB in total, of which 1.05GB the "GALLERY"(wtf??) app has used. All this 1.09gb of usage has been since the 30th of August (day I installed DLH7 JB).
I have attached a screenshot to show the data usage on the graph.
Please could someone point me towards a valid reason for this as I am extremely confused.
Thanks in advance,
Whoosh13

Okay, done that, thanks! but what's weird is I have never had to do that before, EVER, on any ROM on s3 or s1.

Out of interest, how do you even check what's on your Picasa? Never used it but noticed it was set to Sync.

Facebook won't go away

I uploaded a picture and it failed halfway through. Now the notification will not stop popping up!
Where can I cancel it? Tell it to IDGAF. Cause I already re-uploaded it hours later.

not sure but I'd think you could clear the app data and I'd imagine it'd cancel out.

check the location for which the app is showing weather and time for.
for some reason it's not always very good at updating your current location.

This might be a stupid question but do you think you can take a pic or maybe use your phone while browsing and hope that you can video record it with some other camera and capture that grayish dot. It could be that you have a security software installed and everytime you browse it scans the website you're on. I could be wrong.
For me, when i view a pic on reddit sync, it shows up. I think it just is a way to declutter the notification bar, cause if you click it, it shows all the icons anyway. Any more info as to what you're doing when it happens?

I'll try to see if I can do that, the only security software installed on my phone is Cerbereus, which is more phone tracking than anything

I think you may be right, looked around on another forum. Somebody suggested that for another user. Uploading picture for confirmation if that's ok

Go into location settings in maps and disable location reporting.

Download greenify and hibernate the app.

Try Backitude. Lets you specify the interval that location updates are done rather than the constant polling that Google maps does.

I tried to add it to greenify but it didn't show up. I did a factory reset and deleted a bunch of stuff 2 days now no problems.
You're downloading media, probably Google music. Suggest using WiFi for the caching process.

I don't have any music on my phone. I'm not intentionally downloading anything.
