[Q] Need to know model name of phone - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I want to root my phone but i'm not sure what the model name or original carrier the phone was, under the Model Name in the phone info it says "HTC-x710a", I tried searching it and I'm not sure whether it's an HTC Raider, Vivid, Velocity or whatever as those all came up. Is there a way to search by model number? I also want to know the original carrier if that's possible, is it possible to know that from the model number or imei number?

[Q] i9300 mobile network issues :S

I'm having some issues with my i9300 i bought not too long ago pre-owned, i'm going to try my best to keep it clear and simple but...
I bought a i9300 off ebay locked to Optus mobile network, now before I tried to unlock it i rooted it and installed the cyanogen mod 10.2.0. Now I cant read my imei number and some other specs on the phone, i believe you need the imei or else it wont always work i'm told (unlocking the network). Ive been looking around for a stock rom from optus australian versions to see if that fixes the imei problem (didnt check to see if it was there when I had original rom on it). I've been running into problems finding a site that lets you download over 1 gig files without registering (**** that ****). Now I have two questions.
1. Can someone point me to a link of a fool proof no surveys and no registry restrictions of a stock rom from optus??
2. Is there it required to have an imei for unlocking or will unlocking fix my imei problem??
Is there a free way and relaviley easy way to unlock my phone??
Appreciate any help and ask for any more information
Additional imformation:
IMEI is Unknown
IMEI SV is Unknown
Serial No. Know
Have IMEI under battery

No Changing the IMEI is illegal and talks about it are against the rules. You would have known that had you followed the rules and searched

Do I have Sprint model or international?

Hello, I recently bought this phone, when I check it from settings menu, it shows D855 as model number. Also back on the phone its printed D855 several places. But when I enter the imei on several sites it shows up as sprint carrier model LS990. My imei ends with 855, so I dont know for sure if it represents model number. So how can I confirm which exact model it is because I dont want to install the wrong firmware on it. Thanks
I have the sameissue , it says D852 in the about phone, d852 in adb, but ls990 on imei.info .
Because of the risk of bricking my devices I'm still on stock KitKat (rooted)
Hey.
I had this same exact issue last year. You can check my previous posts.
The phone is probably LS990.... IMEI is everything
Email me and I can help you in reverting fully to LS990

FCC ID

Hello! I need to know if this phone has FCCID, if so, where i can find it or which number is?? And how do i remove the backcover!!
Thanks!!

Phone model is SM-N950U, but it shows SM-N9500 in Smart Switch

In addition, when I want to check software, it says "Your current software isn't supported. Visit a service centre". It also shows China baseband version, but in about phone it shows USA baseband version. Any suggestions?
What happened before that? Is it rooted, did you buy it and know nothing about it? Is it new and nothing was done?
Where do you " check software"?
Where does it show "China baseband version"

Please answer the questions:
Is it rooted?
Did you buy it from someone and know nothing about it?
Is the phone new and you have not done anything (Root etc)?
