what is difference between "galaxys2" and "i9100 intl". on cyanogenmod site? help?
Because i dont get iit because you have in the list on github 'galaxy s2' (that where you go when you look in devices and click on galaxy s2 you go to github but it only goes to cm9)
And i look in the list on the left i see 'i9100' that also a galaxy s2 so i look it says international version and has cm10. So what is that i dont get it? Whats the difference?
I know it has cm10.1 bit why not on official CM site?

I9100 is the samsung galaxy S2 upgraded verion of the samsung galaxy.
there are big difference in the how the phones are constructed.
cm10 is the newest version and deleveloped based on the latest software.
cm9 is anolder version based on gingerbread.

And other question is does mhl out work on cm10 on thr galaxy s2.? And usb host?. Cant find any awnser on google for that.

cm10 is newer version of the foirmware and will work on sgs2. It is an upgrade of cm9.
Since it custom firmware, you must make the choice to flash it or upgrade it. Does not come as stock firmware or automatically upgradeable via kies.

euh dont think you get it.
sorry but my question is on hte github on cynaogenmod where you download roms, there are 2 galaxys2
one is named galaxys2 and the other i9100
so when i press ggalaxys2 i get only cm9.... so i click then on the i9100 and goes to page there is writen galaxy s2 international version.....
and has cm10
so why does the galaxys2 dont have it?

you have a galaxy s2? do you know if hdmi out (or mhl out) and usb host works on non stock based roms like cm10 etc...? cant find a awnser for that
Mhl only properly works properly (mirrors display) on stock Samsung ROMs on other ROMs only local videos and YouTube videos play through mhl

CM9 was based on ICS.
CM8 was reserved for HC but was never used.
CM7 was based on GB
And the users question has nothing to do with the I9000.
I wonder the same thing actually. On cyanogenmod download page there are both galaxys2 and i9100.
galaxys2 have cm9
and i9100 have cm10 nightlies

But please do a full wipe before flashing if you are not already on cm to avoid problems

I get you! Though I have no clue why did they do that I can recommend you to go for cm10.1 or CM10 from "i9100"! galaxys2 is for the old cm9 version... I suppose they did it so because the galaxy S2 still didn't get its official jb update and some people still prefer ics hence they dont wan't to stop development for cm9 for s2 and merge it! I suppose after the official jb is released they'll merge it with i9100! Don't forget to thank!

Why don't you do a search man. After nearly 700 posts I'm sure you've been told that a few times by now. In the Dev section there are at least 3. Plus Oxygen over at Oxygen forums, and GalnetMIUI over at their forums.

Hi Guys, Terrible newbie question here; I have searched briefly but haven't found an answer. Is Android 2.3.6 available for the Galaxy S2? I'm still on 2.3.3 and am bored of waiting for OTA updates. I've seen that there is a 2.3.5 ROM available here on these forums but don't see the point in upgrading to that now then 2.3.6 is out... Can anyone help me with my question for up-to-dateness? Thanks.

Is there any indication from Samsung when they'll be pushing out 2.3.4 to the UK devices? I would love to get a basic installation really without all of the Samsung crap on it. :\

Click to collapse Actually the current Android version is 2.3.7 for NFC capable devices, stop thinking about official 2.3.6, they barely launched official 2.3.4 for northern europe.
I'm in Spain southern Europe and still no 2.3.4. But I have had a few 2.3.3 updates which is fine by me. I love this phone. Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
stupid question our device is NFC capable isnt it? and well even if it is we dont have that over here in the UK anyway the NFC spots were to use it

Just for future references, Google releases new Android OS versions, it first shows up in Nexus Phones. Then, manufacturers need to get the lastest OS to build their new ROM around it with their own skin/theme. This typically takes couple months and then a new ROM leaked or released. So, typically you will see a new Samsung ROM about 6 months later. You can't download or install Android OS directly. You have to wait for OEM to built it.

why do u even want 2.3.6 2.3.4 fixed a lot of issues people had with battery life etc + google talk video support ) 2.3.5 Brought improved network performance for the Nexus S 4G, among other fixes and improvements. Fixed bluetooth bug on Samsung Galaxy S Improved Gmail application 2.3.6 Voice search bug fixed. ... yay ?

I advice you, if you want a stock rom, flash XWKJ3 2.3.5, is the best firmware for SGS2.. you can find also the individual CSC.. Visit this page

[Q] Galaxy Tab 10.1 PT7500
Wondering how the ICS work is coming along for Galaxy 10.1 PT7500 as far as getting the camera to work. Also, has anyone made any headway on getting a working 3G CS Phone functionality? I have tried to scour the threads but can't really discern any information from them.

Click to collapse From what I have seen Jelly Bean based AOKP and CM10 have not yet been released for the galaxy player 5.0 yet but check out this great guide to rooting your device and what ROM's you can put on (Only up to ICS 4.04 as of this writing) it. For more information on CM10 look here and for more information on AOKP look here. These should give you an idea what there like.
kernel for 4.2 i9100
just a sugesstion ,the kernel of S2 PLUS can be edited to work on i9100 s2 to get 4.2 sammy rom! i knw its a difficult task but if one can try i can be possible. devs have made cm11 possible for our device without full exynos sources then this thing is a worth try !
This has been stated before a lot The difference is hardware related, so it's not possible to just take another kernel from another phone. We'll be stuck at official 4.1.2.
