[Q] Sensor(magnetic compass) problem in WT19i(LWW) on FXP 151 CM10 - Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini, Mini Pro, Xperia Pro, A

I installed FXP 151 CM10 yesterday and it works like a charm except the fact that google maps and sky maps are not working properly on my WT19i. When ever I use maps, the arrow moves in random position and screen rotates in different positions . And sky maps lags like hell and doesn't even work properly. I have already tried the method stated here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1520434 but it didn't worked.Any help would be appreciated regarding this.
Could it be possible for someone to upload the sensors.conf file which works properly with google and sky maps?
Thanks in advance!!!
Spice mi 310

It's the same problem that's reported on the issue tracker over and over again. I have been able to reliably reproduce it (unfortunately) on my SK17i since quite a few releases ago.

No, I don't think that is has been fixed yet. And it's a fancy way of saying that it happens to me each time I use Google Maps, as well.

Dude gmaps works. When u get gps signal then just start moving. The compass will stop rotating and show u correct direction

Dude, I never said that Google Maps "doesn't work". The problem is that, especially for pedestrian navigation, you have almost no idea on the direction to take if the map isn't pointing in the right... direction. The arrow, not the compass, will stop rotating and show you your walking direction because Google Maps will use GPS data to infer this. Still, this does not mean that the compass is functioning properly.

We already posted this issue on bugtracker. Hope we get a fix soon.....link to issue http://code.google.com/p/freexperia/issues/detail?id=1373

Thanks for that, works a treat...
Yeah i had this back with 1,6 with swype seems to be a copilot issue rather than SE
I never had a problem with Copilot on 1.6 but now i cant use it on 2.1 the screen goes all funny with i rotate the phone to horizontal , not sure if this is linked to Swype but it always worked fine before.
hmmm looks like I'm not the only one who have this problem... i'll try to stop the auto rotate thing too
still a shame cant use the se keyboard w copilot...
but for those w the rotate problem the way i fixed it was to get a newer copy of copilot n now it can rotate to landscape now...

Maps and Navigator trouble... =\

Hi guys,
Well... I have installed recently CM7 6.5 and Kernel 18.1. I changed the kernel version (to v18) because of the big battery drain and i can't use Maps and Navigator!
I don't remember if i tried it with Kernel 18.1, but when i open these apps, they keep loading, and loading, and screen's light turns off and nothing... they don't run!
I have tested other apps, and they run normally, the trouble is in these two apps...
=\
Someone have a solution?
Obs.: I have installed street view too and i don't use 3G.
Thanks!
Nobody knows about it?
Please, someone! Help me!

id say flash back 18.1 and see if it works. maybe its a kernel problem.
if that doesnt work, try reflashing gapps

I reflashed maps application and for my surprise, the app run normally, without any problem... maps and navigator.
Well... i closed the app and when i tried it again, a problem appeared. I can see only the last map charged... if i search for any adress, it keeps charging, and charging, and the new map doesn't appear. In the navigator, the app can't find my location...
What curious case! Anybody knows what i can do to fix it?
Thanks!
Obs.: I can reflash maps several times and it works until i closed it, after sometime running the app.

You need a WORKING DATA connection, period. You can prefetch some 10 "maps" (IIRC 10 miles diameter) in latest versions to avoid that.

Same issue here. Running Only1 base. I have to clear app data every week or it gets stuck repeating the route from the state I was previously working in. The map directions are accurate, but the voice keeps saying to turn on a road from the previous week. Over and over and over again. Crazy.

Same problem, Galaxy Nexus VZW on JellyBean, was having the issue on ICS as well. Did an uninstall/clear cache...worked for a while, and then started repeating again. Only thing that fixes it temporarily is clearing the app's data.
Happens to me once a week. Go to applications in settings, force stop maps, clear data, and reopen maps/nav. Problem solved. Its getting very annoying though, to do this once or twice a week.

I had the same problem on the Team Perfection ROM, in addition to it not using my Ivona TTS voice or speaking street names. Clearing cache and data didn't help, neither did an uninstall and reinstall from Play. What DID work however, was installing an older version apk I found (which kept FC for some reason), and then updating that version from Play. (Sorry, I don't recall which version it was, but I downloaded it from Aptoide.) After that, everything worked perfectly again. I noticed other people complaining about the same problem in Play's comments section. Really strange, but at least it works again for me.
Settings > Language & input > text to speech output.
Changing this to Pico TTS fixed it for me.
This has been happening on my phone (Verizon Galaxy Nexus on 4.1.1 JB AOKP build 2) on and off for a few months now, it first started happening right before android 4.1 Jellybean was officially announced. *It was at that precise time that the voice for Google Maps Navigation changed to be the same voice that Google Now uses in Jellybean. I remember there was a period of time where I would hear both voices like they hadn't finished converting all of the speech over to the new voice. It's been ever since then but this problem has been happening, I have noticed the clearing cache seems to sometimes stop it from happening only to return again randomly.

It seems, GPS driver sure, that altitude MINUS 150 meters is wrong and do not return position to OS. But actualy altitude of Dead Sea ~ -400
Now I can't check this issue now
1. I'm on GB now.
2. Point, where GPS lost is about 80km from my home and I've no plans to visit it in near future.
But It already checked 2 times.

same here - more info
Having the same issues: below -168M, no GPS fix.
More info:
-Aside this issue, no other issues with the GPS – the GPS function perfectly, locks quickly etc (above -168M)
-Below -168M, the GPS continue to have good satellites viability (at least 5-9 are fully ‘green’), yet the data (location, altitude, etc are frozen).
-The above occurs with all GPS application i tried (several status / navigation apps).
-using other phones GPS (e.g. some Alcatel with 2.3.4) at the exact same locations, their GPS is o.k.
-upgrading from Android 2.3.7 to 4.0.4 did not solve the issue (both cyanogen)
-I tried the "[root] GPS Control SiRF StarIV" app – did not solve the issue
- Planning to try "GPS Aids" app - not sure exactly what it does/will it help...

Didn't try to modify the gps.conf file.
Quick search on the web, seems like most suggestions to modify the file are related to improving the performance (faster gps lock) -not resolving complete lack of locking.
Do you have a specific recommendation/idea what to change in gps.conf file for this specific problem we have? if so, can you please explain
why?
(note that here is no lock performance issue here. its simply completely stop showing position below certain height)
Well, its worth a shot? But before you do, are you using the internal gps or the bluetooth gps? If your using one, try switching to the other?

I tested a GB ROM 2.3.6. It did not loose lock if coming from a high place, bit when I was already at the dead sea and opened GPS Test, it did not lock again even with 12 satellites in view and with good signal. I believe it is the GPS chip Firmware that causing the problem, so there is no fix for it.

Photosphere... anyone get it working on the Razr?

So I was able to load the camera 4.2 after some work. Camera work, Parana works, PhotoSphere... not so much. I can open it (after some edits to a file), but it doesn't seem to really work... I can't align my blue dot 95% of the time, and when I do, it doesn't seem to move to the "next" step.
I thought I read somewhere that you need a gyro in the phone in order to use PhotoSphere. Not sure on that... just read it in passing (I thought), but can't find it now. I have no idea if that's the issue or not.
Just found this:
http://forums.androidcentral.com/ve...0830-jelly-bean-4-2-camera-7.html#post2280430
So, yeah, looks like it needs the gyroscope which apparently the Razr doesn't have. Bummer.
