[Q] Need my stock rom - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys. I got my Samsung Galaxy SII on a T-Mobile contract when it first came out. Unfortunately I got into a bit of a dispute with them and left, and am therefore unable to get my unlock code.
So I rooted my phone and unlocked it and the phone worked fine for a few months. Then all of a sudden I lost my signal EVERYWHERE.
So I tried messing around installing a few roms trying to get my phone's signal back. And may have possibly corrupted my EFS also.
I know (using various guides) how to get my EFS and everything back. However I have no idea which rom to choose.
My phone came from T-Mobile, but I am now on a Three contract. So which carrier do I select when getting the stock rom?
Also CSC? Modem? There are several variants of the stock rom it seems and I have no idea which one to pick!
Sorry if I have missed something, this is my first post. I scoured the website for a good 20mins and couldn't find anything that would help with my particular problem.
Info:
Current Network: 3
Country: UK
Phone: Galaxy S2 I9100
Thanks in advance.

You can get it from here also

Hi guys, just thought I'd update.
Luckily I remembered one of my family has the exact same phone that was on the same contract. So I typed in *#1234# and boom, I had the correct PDA, PHONE and CSC.
Thanks for the links also. Really helped

[I9100G] Network lock

Hello,
I received a Galaxy SII I9100G as a present last april in Morocco (I'm in France right now). They told me it was an "unlocked" phone (not bought from any operator).
The phone worked wonders with my SIM card (SFR, a french operator) from april until 2 days ago. It seems like it locked itself all of a sudden and asks me a code to unblock the network. That same SIM card worked well the same morning.
Anyone to explain what happened? I'm confused since I don't understand how it can lock itself without having to change the SIM card/flash/anything...
I called SFR and Samsung France to have the code, each one tells me to call the other.
I rooted my phone and used Galaxy S Unlock, it tells me that the phone is unlocked but after the reboot nothing happens. Tried also Galaxy S2 SIM Unlock, but it doesn't find the code.
I'm quite desperate right now since I'm waiting for some important calls this week and I tried everything, every tutorial but nothing seems to work.
I really don't know what to do to unblock it, I asked for help on many forums, spent yesterday looking for solutions but still nothing.
Please tell me there's a solution to this problem?
Thanks in advance for any help~
Samsung Galaxy SII I9100G
Version: 4.0.3 - I9100GXXLPN
PS: Actually, it does seem to work with a Meditel (moroccan operator) SIM card... Which I don't understand since it was supposed to be unlocked, hence why it worked with my SFT SIM card since april...
Hey i think some persons before you has coneckt it with a Samsung account and locked it now over the samsung dive webside. You can try to flash a new Firmeware to fix it
First, thanks for trying to help me.
I already flashed it with a new firmware (2.3.6 >> 4.0.3, always using official samsung), but still didn't work.
Unless should I go back to a previous firmware?
Any other idea please?

[Q] Note N7005

Hi,
I have just purchased a Galaxy Note with LTE. Its a relatively new model here an it carries the model no. Samsung GT-N7005.
My Million $$ question is, I have read from the N7000 thread that this is the same as I717 in terms of rooting and flashing of roms..
Anyone can confirm? Thanks lots in advance.
From Singapore.

Yes, they are similar but don't dare flash a ROM for the international note N7000 on the i717
Well.. I read it here.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1876490&page=2
Use caution ....
And you may have baseband issues that cannot be corrected later ...
Root and flash at own risk, as there is no current support from the I717 side of the house ....g
Yeah.. thats why I asked first..
Initially I was reading up on the N7000 and then at the shop I saw this "newer" model and heck it comes with LTE. So, bam! I bought it, and it was cheaper...
Then the thought of rooting and flashing came to me.. <facepalm>
My shop doesnt come with a refund policy either..
Dare to try out a N7005 stock rom in i717. Not rooted. Able to flash all the way to the modem, where it fails. Reboot and reset, and now I have a functioning Hong Kong version of i717 with baseband still a I717UCLF6. Everything seems to work except update, and seems like HK version doesn't have NFC.
Put pta back to APN and it registered as "4G". Checked with status and it says "LTE: 14". Phone seems to be much faster and tethering seems to work too (at least I can turn on, but haven't tried other things).

[Q] Should I update my phone...?

Hi,
Bought a Samsung Galaxy SII (SGH S959G) and flashed it, unlocked it (before January 26th (which was legal back then(and I am using Ultra Mobile as my carrier and rooted it.
The thing is that now it's an SGH S959G (Straight Talk phone) that has an OTA update and when the download starts it says it's downloading the new version for this phone, but, when I browse to the "About Phone" section of the settings, it says that the Model Number is Samsung SGH - I777 with a baseband version I777UCKH7, Kernel version 2.6.35.7, Build number GINGERBREAD.UCKH7, AND, when I power on the phone, the splash screen shows that it's an GT - I9100.
Today I connected my phone to Kies and (obviously) showed that an update was available for I777 (Android Version: 4.1.2 / Baseband Version: I777UCMD8)
My hands are itching to upgrade my phone because when I bought it and rooted it I had JellyBean in there, and now I have Gingerbread, but:
Should I upgrade my phone?
I want to keep root on my phone, will it be possible?
Will my phone still be flashed?
Will I loose the unlocking that I did to the phone?, I really just don't like the service at Straight Talk, besides, Ultra Mobile is much cheaper.
Now, one more thing, this phone was not activated on any network when I purchased it (got it at craig list (for those who know what that is)), checked the IMEI number and was not reported either stolen or lost, but couldn't register it with Straight Talk since I didn't have the original purchase ticket from WalMart, so I had to change the IMEI number on it too ... will I loose this if I update it?
Thanks, in advanced, for your help, sorry it's such a long explanation, but just wanted to let you know the whole story so you could get all the facts you need for helping me, and if you need more, please just let me know.
Again, thanks.

For loosing SIM unlock. ...I need to know if you did your unlock by unlock code or you did some other way
.....updating to 4.1.2 ....look in I777 thread for cooked Rom that is already rooted deodexed ...debloated....and TW rom you looking
If you did unlock by code that is permanent. ..other ways that you need post
For showing update on kies...
If you did modified IMIE that is going to be problem. ...be cause your motherboard will still have factory IMIE. ...and from your statement I'm assuming you modified IMIE from some I777 device...
So your best thing is to use. ..cooked rom...
For statement that SGH-S959G is jb stock. ...no it is not...
Here is the link for everything you wanna know
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=33902328
And if there is anything I can do to return your phone to right working order. ...PM me
Here is the link on cooked rom
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=42522825
And for end I'm little out of what you exactly mean by imei. ....
Are you pointing to APN settings or something else

Thanks samprocat, to unlock the phone, first, I downloaded an app from gogle play store that actually stated that it unlocked the phone for me, then I sent the phone to someone to change the IMEI number (I looked my IMEI up on the IMEI black list on the internet but it wasn't black listed but a message kept popping up stating that the phone's IMEI was not registered) so I don't know how they did the IMEI change, except, that they did change the IMEI while the phone had the sgh s959g image on, but could not put on the modems, that's why they used the I777 image.
I know that if the phone gets back it's original IMEI, it's not going to work anymore, plus, I don't know if it's going to stay unlocked either. To tell you the truth, I don't want it to go back to it's original state. If there's a chance for me to loose the phone's unlocked feature, or get back my original IMEI number, then, I'll just stay with the phone this way.

Odin vs CF-Root vs official ROM

Greetings, I need your two cents about the following.
I own a Samsung Galaxy SIII I9300 for a year now. Throughout time I only used sammobile ROMS that I flashed with the well known Odin.
I rooted it several times with the CF-Root SGS3-v.6.3, developed by master Chainfire.
Fact: One of these fine days I woke up with no voice service. I got all kind of IMEI and messages: null/null, or the 0049 generic IMEI, no SIM, inserted valid SIM.
Question: Giving the aforementioned tools I ask: is it possible to lose IMEI using the tools I used? Maybe a faulty ROM would cause this?
I'm really puzzled.
Much appreciated in advance by your insights.

Samsung Galaxy S3 Unlock Issues

Hey guys,
I've been trying to unlock my phone for a few days now. Long story short, I moved from Canada to Japan and now I want to unlock my S3 to use a Japanese SIM.
I bought an unlock code from eBay. I was previous running cyanogenmod but then I was told that rooting will cause issues, so I unrooted my phone after an unsuccessful SIM unlock attempt. (wiped the phone, installed stock TW)
Even after unrooting I still had issues, and was given directions for the Service mode. That did not work either. I have tried many different methods and troubleshooting tips and nothing seems to have worked.
Here are some screenshots of the debug mode, my phone details, and a simple root checker app I installed.

Here are some specs: SGH-i747m Samsung Galaxy S3 on Bell running official firmware 4.4.2
Thanks for reading, and I really hope someone can help ;_;

My first thoughts are that since its from ebay it might not be a real unlock code.
I have had a lot of difficulty unlocking my GS3, as well. I actually got the codes from ATT, my carrier. I've tried 4 times, each unsuccessful. It says that after 5 failed attempts, the phone is forever locked to ATT, so I'm afraid to try that last 5th time. I was wondering if you could root, and then unlock more reliably. Is that possible?
Root makes no difference, you probably don't have an i9300 if you are on ATT.
